I have an ATT Tilt that is about a year and a half old running WM6 Prof. I am thinking about upgrading it to WM6.5, but I have a few questions.
I have sirius radio that works on my phone, but have read that it doesn't work with WM6.5. I actually read that is was made for WM5, wouldn't work for WM6, and update was not being made. It has worked fine for me though. Does anyone know if sirius works on WM6.5?
I also have TOMTOM mobile and was wondering if that would work on WM6.5.
I did do a search, but I couldn't find an answer so I posted a new thread.
Thanks.

I am sure that your extensive search has informed you that WM 6.5 isn't even out yet. And when it is finally released, it will not be released for the Kaiser.
The Kaiser rom chefs have however taken beta and pre-release developer's copies and have cooked some 6.5 based roms for the Kaiser. You will have to read the specific threads or unlock, Hardspl and flash each of the roms to test them for yourself.

If you decide to take the plunge and flash, try the TPC or PDA Corner 6.5 roms, both are excellent. I have a Sirius radio cab thing that used to work on my 6.1 rom, started to work on my 6.5 rom but it failed, I believe because I don't buy the extra service. Tom Tom V7 runs fine on mine, (using TPC Elite 6.5 Rom). Good luck and have fun.

Hey all.
HTC TYTN II on Tmobile (UK).
ROM - 19209 Dutty's WM6.1 (Dutty's DualTouch Edition Rom).
I've got my phone configured perfectly. Absolutely perfectly, I've tried a million roms and am happy with the one I've got installed.
I couldn't make calls.
At all.
I went into the com manager and turned off 3G. The phone works great.
Now of course the problem is, I would like 3G, but any time I turn it on, no one can call me and I can't call anyone - Not that good for a phone.
All I want for Christmas is my 3g to work -
I searched the forum and found some people used:
removeHiddenProxy4CWS_0522.cab
To fix this. I installed it. Soft Reset. Nothing. Then Renabled. Soft Reset. Nothing.
Please help!
im no expert, but i would try a different radio!

I honestly don't think I could try anymore!
But if someone on this forum is running WM 6.1 and is on T-Mobile (UK) with everything working, and would like to tell me what radio they have I'd give it a go!
yeah you may have installed a radio not compatible with WM6.1 or another countrys radio. Where you from?

You don't know the radio number do you?
I use 1.64.08.21
There is internet phone function in WM6, so I like to upgrade my mda in order to use Gizmo project. If I upgrade it, will the system be very slow for the MDA with only 200 mhz CPU?
Well Its Your Choice
Well, trying is ever the development thingy issues... too much roms for try right here
with the lasts releases i cant see the difference between wm6.1 and wm5
Most of the programs that runs on wm5 runs too in wm 6 and wm6.1
but please... read everything before do everything... ask wathever you want. to avoid brick youir device
I know, there is a lot to read, thank you!
SO which is the most stable rom for 6.1 with internet phone?
I have WM 6.1 Pro and tomtom navigator 6. I want to ask that is there any way i can make my built-in gps search faster for the satteline beside using quickgps? thank you
What exact ROM are you using? Early WM6.1 ROMs (those ported form other devices, before the official one came) had very long times to first fix (several minutes).
The current ones have normal times of about 30 seconds.
It's WM 6.1 Pro
CE OS 5.2 19214
I dont know if it is a current one or the one was ported. How do i know? i bought it as used

Is 'it' a HTC TyTN II, AT&T Tilt, Vodafone v1615, O2 XDA Stellar etc? If you bought it used, the previous owner may have changed the ROM or Radio/SPL through a process known as flashing. Does it all appear the same as whats shown in your manual for the device (or if you don't have the hardcopy, what is shown on the downloadable manual from the device provider)?
Check out the XDA-wiki pages if you're new to your device, it'll answer lots of questions you may otherwise be tempted to ask here needlessly. Newer WM 6.1 versions of HTC TyTN II ROMs (including the very latest UK released World Wide English - WWE one) have terrible GPS times to get a satellite lock when compared to the original WM 6.0 ROMs so if GPS functioning is important, for the mean-time until the ROM is fixed, you may want to have it reverted to an older ROM that works faster.
I never used to have problems then I sent my phone back for repair and they updated me to WM 6.1 which was the start of my GPS problems.
Anyway I've just set the external GPS to 9600 as suggest by CHfish and hey presto back to a fast fix. Don't set anything else on the external GPS as this can really bugger up your internal GPS.
I have a Kaiser and i have a few questions
1. what is the best cooked rom for WM6.1+, i am using a WM6 Dutty's ROM, i haven't had any problems apart from streaming media has never worked and continues not to work.
e.g. the new BBC beta TV site will not even try to connect.
I need the Rom to work with t-mobile in the UK
2. the GPS when using something like google streetmaps is rubbish, the accuracy leaves a lot to be desired, and it constantly moans about the GPS not being connected or not working. Anyone got any ideas whats up with that.
Nothing else apart from that,
Thanks

You need to do your homework and go into each Rom thread..
I'm actually headed there now.
Reversion was the solution for me

While it's great to see a new member here, apart from what ChumleyEX mentioned, you also need to search the Kaiser forums for threads relating to poor GPS with WM 6.1 'upgrades' such as the *Hopeless* GPS after 6.1 Update?
23 page thread. I've gone back to WM 6.0 for excellent GPS performance as the official ROMs were poor (here in the UK) in that regard. Don't know if any cooked WM 6.1 ROMs are up to the same level of GPS performance as my current setup but I doubt it.
Ok thanks for the reply.
My question about the Roms was merely to ascertain what version actually works well rather than opinions, but if as you say the GPS isn't all that great then it may not be worth upgrading yet.
It works OK when using the TomTom software, but does take an age to find a connection. Its not a deal breaker but it would have been nice to resolve.

It's not just me that finds the HTC Official WM 6.1 ROMs to be appauling for GPS, read that thread I've linked to and you'll see it's widespread. My setup often takes about 15 ~30 seconds for a cold satelite lock in Tomtom Navigator 6.032 whereas under the latest (and supposedly greatest) HTC WM 6.1 WWE ROM it was minutes (if at all).
The ROM I use works just fine for GPS.
hello,
is someone know if a WM6.0 rom is availlable for the diamond ?
This version is needed because one of my software doesnt run both on wm6.1 and 6.5.
thr only way to make it work is under 6.0.
in case this is not possible, can you advice me a device (wich can be findable in the market) with all the feature of tytn2 ad downgradable to wm6.0.
Thank you in advance for your anser.
best regards
never heard of it
but it would be possible I suppose
as the drivers from wm6 and 6.1 are the same
strange that the software only works on 6.0 never
heard of such a thing wm6 and wm6.1 are 2 of the closest
roms around
