Is there anyway or any tweak to increase the font size in the stock email app? I have 20/20 vision (I think...I hope so) and it still hard for me to read. I get about 100-200 emails a day so reading small font really tired my eyes out. I searched on Market but couldn't find any third party email app worth while like the stock one.

Check out spare parts. Thats where you would change font size.
Yeah I did try it, it never did anything. Having multi-touch there would be supper! heheheh or at least a zoom option.
Anybody? Is the email app close source or open source? Maybe a dev can modify it to put an option in there. Spare Parts setting never stay. as soon as I get out of it, everything went back to normal.

Write Asurion in Market and download the address book and the mix ins you want to get installed...
Amazing app, let's see how it develops...
im gonna bumb this cause this app is pretty cool. It connects all your contacts with facebook and twitter or w/e social network u use. It takes a couple min to setup and sync all your contacts though. I liked the notifications that it gave you for each contact. I did find it a little slow and the interface isnt really apealing. All in all, its pretty good just needs work on the interface and on the speed as well...
Havin some difficulty figuring out how to set up different notifications.
Pictures for contacts dont update with the FB page.
Ugly UI.
But to be honest the FB portion is better than the FB app. Its worth it for that alone. Alot of functionality seemingly. Absolutely needs to be streamlined.
still too laggy for daily use. it froze my phone for a good 4 minutes.
I messed with it a little. Seemed to be really slow on my G1 with CM 4.1.999.
My personal faveorite contacts app is still StarContact - I just wish they'd update it... I'd at least like to see contact photos. I hate it when good apps go abandoned.
As it stands it certainly isnt an Addybook replacement by any means.
I do hope they stick with it.
This is easily replacing my phonebook. I love it! I don't know what these other people are talking about with lag, but on cyan 4.2.2 it is phenomenal! I am blown away by it and am so glad something similar to voxmobiles upcoming effort has come out.
i'd love to try it out, unfortunately it seems it's not yet available here in germany - at least not for me
if someone could pass it on to it'd be much appreciated
cheers
anyone have a direct link? I can't find it in the market. Thanks!
Yeah I cant find it either.
I read in one of the market comments that it doesn't sync with Google, is that true?
cant find this in the market i found the you tube and speed dialer but no address book. anyone have a link?
Those of you who can't find it, where do you live. My buddy from Canada couldn't find it either. Might be a regional issue but I'm not sure.

Also have T-Mobile USA and found it. Search for Asurion.
It's a great app, but I found it has issues with the MixIn settings. It still gives notifications even though I disable them. It appears other people have issues with the settings as well that want to change update intervals so they don't use so much data. Keep in mind this is still in beta. Can't wait for an update.
can't find it. I have t-mobile USA. searched asurion and only the speed dialer and you tube mix in shows up. I'm running xrom if that helps. even if i try getting the link straight form the website, it doesn't show up. weird.
Does anyone else have this problem? The pictures wont resize when I send them out, resulting in a picture that almost one MB and most people cant even recieve them.
and many people can't even send them! sending using handcent they get resized to a manageable size.
Can also use picsay (works fine with Froyo) to resize pictures for MMS
This sizing problem was also present in 2.1. Looks like they haven't fixed it on this build, maybe the official update will be fixed.

This is how I've always done it, although I must admit I was disappointed to find Google hadn't fixed this for 2.2 given how simple it is to adjust.
with froyo FRF85B this problem with mms size don't disappear
My superphone cant send picture messages. That is so stupid. SO STUPID.
Edit: maybe it's because I'm on cheap ass t-mobile? My wife's slide usually gets "generic network failire" when trying to send or receive mms. I wish I knew who to complain about
Mms.apk can be modified to change the size if you've got root.
I have to say though, it's monumentally stupid of Google to have done this.
EDIT: Complain here, maybe some notice will be taken: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6231, wouldn't hold your breath though, I created that issue in Jan.
hello. i saw somewhere there was an app or something that can make your screen res so much better.... like certain apps that are on your homescreen that are long on their title fade out... wit this app it makes it show the whole thing? hope i am making sense lol. i saw it before i got my captivate and now that i have one i dont remember where i saw it and its driving me nuts! any help is appreciated!!!
It's called LCD Density. You need one of the apps that changes it.
LCD Density is the one that i have used... but it doesnt save the setting, so anytime you power off your phone and turn it back on, it goes back to its normal Res.
I used one once that had an Apply to Reboot option. Don't remember what it was called.
Lcd density. Paid version saves it. Well worth it. I cant use stock anymore. 190 is a good setting.
does anybody use that app? if so does it make a big difference? is it worth it?

yup. worth it and huge difference
I love LCD Density...really makes it look like a whole new thing...a must. I use 182 as my Contacts crash if I go any lower with my current beta ROM.
I used to do 160!
Is there some way for me to reduce the text size that that app used. Because I find that even a normally sized text takes up a lot of space on my screen. Initially i hated the SMS threaded view and preferring the more classic way to deal with texts.
But the HTC Desire managed to make it acceptable, and now im back to starting to being annoyed by it since I have to scroll to actually see the last text or the one before that >_<. So....
Is there anyway to fix this and remain native, or would i be forced to go for another messaging client?
I would go for another client like GO SMS, ChompeSMS or Handcent. GO works great here and don't has those big letters!
Well while I may be forced to change to another client, I can live with that.
BUT if possible I actually prefer to fix my "issues" natively before going for another app. Not becuase I lack app space, but more because thats how I am.
use Go sms instead - besides the ability to set fontsize individually theres thons of other nice settings to tweak which the stock sms client doesnt have. And also nice themes to brighten up the experience alot.
You could also try to change lcd_density:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992834
It will affect all apps though. But to the better in my opinion.
Or try a different system font, less dramatic than LCD density but may not realise the same benefits.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=989941
Or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994544
Well so far Go SMS might look like a keeper. IF ONLY I could actually get it to show the contact images and not just show blank "faces".
Anyone know a fix to that?

My problem is only with the texts. So I am trying out Go SMS for the time being. I don't feel the need nor desire to mess with the LCD density as I have already played around with LPP to get 5 rows in my app drawer as well as at least +1-2 grids both vertically and horizontal on the "home screens".
I tried out Go SMS last night, but i noticed that the phone did not remove the "1 new message" from the lockscreen when i read the sms with Go SMS. Do you know how to fix this?
Hi. My wife is a new HTC One owner....and is having a hard time.
She wants to use the native email app...as its good with using more then one gmail account...but it wont scale down to fit the screen. Is driving her batty. Is there a setting she is missing. I know the gmail app does that perfectly but isnt good with more then one account (or is it with the new update????)
Please someone....help
CSW
This frustrates me as well. While it does auto scale text emails it doesn't work on images. I've done quite a bit of searching and found no solutions for the stock mail app. And no, there are presently no settings you're missing. However the solution is coming; 4.2.2 has an option for this which will hopefully translate to sense 5
Best you can do for now is switch to a different app or rotate the phone.

My solution so far is a mixed bag.
Ive tried just putting my three gmail accounts in gmail and forgetting the native mail client. It solved the scale problem perfectly....but it doesnt have an All inbox..and switching from one e-mail to another was a pain in the ars.
I then went to aqua mail.....and so far thats the one im using.
Can you please (please) tell me more about how the e-mail will change in 4.2.2? That sounds interesting....have you heard when its coming (to the states and at&t)?
Thanks

Hmm good to know, thanks, maybe I'll try that client!
Here's some who find 4.2.2 has helped them with this issue:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-x/178937-converted-ios-frustrated-email.html
Now that I think more about this it could be that 4.2 specifically improves this for Gmail, while the manufacturer apps may not (like HTCs)... But I still maintain hope that the added option in 4.2 will translate into the other one too. But to answer your question specifically the change is just a toggle switch.
It seems kind of stupid that this is even an issue considering how basic it is...All because android doesn't seem to play nice with HTML in email apparently

Edit: oh and about when we get the OTA, soon... ish... Hopefully... a lot of Europe got it last week so others shouldn't be terribly far behind. Keep an eye on the HTC One mega thread here on XDA, it'll likely show up in there first when it hits other regions.
