Problems with 5 tab home plugin

Hi to everyone,
I just installed HTC.Kaiser.Home.Eng.0409.5Tab.schen.cab and I renamed right dll (I have an italian wm6).
All ok, home plugin appears but... I can't add items to favorite people or launcher. I tried with 3 tabs version and seems all ok: I can add shortcuts to launcher simply tapping on an empty space. With 6 version if I do the same thing, nothing happens. I can only delete items...
Anyone with same problem and hopefully with a solutino?
I had the same issue. Then I have installed the touch plugin.
However if someone has any solutions regarding this....
nobody has any solutions for this issue ?
did rename all theese?
HTCHome.dll.0409.mui -> HTCHome.dll.0414.mui
HTC HDlg.exe.0409.mui ->HTC HDlg.exe.0414.mui
HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml -> HH_0414_WeatherCities.xml
htcbtql.dll.0409.mui -> htcbtql.dll.0414.mui
(0414 is norwegian countrycode ofcourse, yours needs to be the italian....ofcourse )
If not there is a whole bunch of HTC home plugins, why not give them a try?
I use the HTC.Kaiser.Home.Eng.0409.6Tab.schen.cab without any problems after renaming the .dll, .mui and the .xml files
besides, try use total commander for editing.
Another thing worth noticing is that all files in windows folder are read-only, and you cant change or edit them...
But, if you use total commander, then go to your windows dir, select all files within the win folder, go to properties, then uncheck the read-only box.
Then you can in.ex change the windows boot screen (not the splash from HTC) you can edit the welcomehead.png and be able to replace the original with your new one
Ok for the moment I have the HTC home of the THT Touch.
I will remove it and install the kaiser plugin again
(I use Resco explorer)
Ok I have installed a new time the kaiser plugin and rename all the files.
That is working correctly now
Thanks a lot itje
no problem, glad I can help out, allthoug I did only point out what someone else has figured out
btw, I cant get the kaiser 10 button to work, I get that the file dont have the permissions to install, even though i disable com manager, but I got the 8 button touch com to work, its good enough for the time beeing
yes, there were some other files to rename. Thx

PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for TYTN II (Kaiser)

** UPDATED **
PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for TYTN II (Kaiser) and windows mobile phones with slide out keyboards
*Note: only use the NUMBERED CAB files to install if you are using a TYTN II Phone or if you have the standard HTC Sliding sound system built into your rom. If however on phones like the HTC Wizard where no sliding sound is currently present, install the SlidingSound.cab file, and then launch the program and assign the files manually. The Numbered CAB files will not work for the older phone method.
List Of WAV FILES USED:
0 : Wind Chimes
1 : Piano
2 : Xylophone
3 : Futurama Bender
4 : Might Boosh
5 : Startrek TOS
6 : Dalek
7 : Cash Register
8 : Electricity
9 : Electric Motor
10: Hal 2001
11: POP
METHOD 1: TO INSTALL NEW HTC PHONES LIKE KAISER BY CAB FILES:
This is really easy pick one of the numbered install files from "Kaiser - Modern Phones CAB Install Files.rar", you can either install the complete pack or just one of the sounds, however as it must have a constant number sequence in the registry, its programmed to replace the 3 base sounds in every pack. This is to ensure that the pack works correctly despite possible older mods. This means if you remove a pack it will also take the 3 base sounds with it, however at any time you want to go back run the htc base sounds pack, make sure you first uninstall the previous pack completely and the run the base pack install cab.
*Note: above numbered cab method only for newer phones with htc slide service like the kaiser, DONOT install onto older phones like wizard as this will not work see the next method.
METHOD 2: TO INSTALL BY ADD ON SLIDINGSOUND.CAB METHOD TO OLDER PHONES:
Install cab file and run sliding sound program, turn on slide detect service and assign wav files manually, refer to the list above for the appropriate numbers, there are two files to select from a simple "SlideSound.cab" file which just has a basic pop noise, additional sounds will need to be install manually, or to install the program and sounds all in one go, install the "SlideSound - All Sounds.cab"
*Note: above cab method is only for phones without the htc sliding sounds program built into your rom and only required on older phones like the herms, wizard etc..

Hi:
Thanks for posting this!
Sorry for the dumb question. Do I copy just the wav files to Windows, or the reg files also? If not, where do I need to place the reg files (I want to install all sounds)? I placed the All Sounds file in My Documents, and clicked on it, it opened reg editor, but did not seem to apply changes, as they are still not visible under sliding sounds.
Thanks so much for the help.
when i try to open the all sliding sounds.reg i get the message "The specified file is not a registry script" please advise
To import registry file you need phm reg edit.
PHM Registry Editor

Try installing this and then open the file again

Hi Plazma:
I do have PHM Reg Editor.
I copied the all sounds file to my documents, and clicked on it, which did open PHM reg editor, but it didn't seem to make any changes. The sliding sounds are still not visible in settings etc. I have soft reset etc. and I still do not see the new sounds. Should they be visible in the standard sliding sound settings?
Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Do I maybe need to have all the reg files on phone, or is it enough to use all sounds only?
Thanks again!
Check new install

Worked Perfectly!
Thanks so much, I was VERY sick of the piano sound
hi all,
Any chance of uploading it elsewhere other than rapishare or megaupload? Preferably mediafire or yourfilehost? Thanks ya!
Uninstall?
I have uninstalled this after I tried to make it work on my X1 (but failed) using the second option, and I am presented with an error at startup that it could not find slidesound.exe. I have checked the registry and cannot find anything in there. Any ideas??
Thanks
Worked fantastically on my Tilt 2. I love the Dalek one

How to get TCPMP 0.81RC Beta to appear in HTC Programs launcher

Hi Gang,
using the amazing TCPMP 0.81RC Beta only one gripe - how do i get it to appear in the HTC program launcher tab?
The issue here - *I think* is that this great little prog runs off an exe and isn't installed in the 'normal' way as such.
Please help - my neanderthal fingers cannot deal with the fiddling with Task manager and total commander every damn time!
be well and thanks for helpage!
lr
You can go into the task manager, copy the program, then go into the windows startmenu, programs and paste shortcut.
I'm using x button - ans di see no way yo copy a prog and pasting it to start progs.
scuse the lack of knowledge but can ya be more specific as to how to do this?#
cheers man
lr
I think he meant to use your File Manager, not Task Manager.
Correct, sorry. Use the File Manager to copy and when you go to paste it will give you the option to paste shortcut.
i did that - pasted a shortcut into program files but when i went to add it to htc launcher it still wasnt in the list..
any ideas?

HTC Youtube Application Fix for Landscape Search Issues

Hey guys. Well, I have the HTC Fuze (aka Touch Pro) and I love to use the slide-out keyboard. Well, using it with the latest HTC Youtube Application (v1.6.1820.4128), I found that the orientation did not switch and that a thin white rectangle would appear on the screen to show me what I typed. I think that those of us with this agree that it looks ugly.
I did a bit of tinkering and found that the Youtube.exe in the latest version does not orient Search to landscape properly on the Touch Pro. The only version that seems to do this properly is the one from the Diamond. To get the benefits of both worlds (latest Youtube and working landscape Search) all we need is the Youtube.exe from the previous version. No need to change any other files or add/delete registry entries.
Needed File: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E8OM7PD4
Solution:
1. Go to your device's Windows folder and backup the original Youtube.exe.
2. Replace the original exe with the one you downloaded. Use TotalCommander or any other program that lets you edit system files. Overwrite if prompted. If you are unable to replace the file, soft reset your device and try again.
Now enjoy!
The only disadvantage of the Youtube.exe from the older version is that the Program Guide will not appear if you do not have any custom favorites/channels added. If you do add a custom favorite/channel, the Program Guide will appear like it did in the original HTC Youtube, but the Auto &Vehicles channel will give the error "No Videos Found". Anything you add will start at #13 and count up (14, 15 ,16, ...).
Program Guide Style Editing (If you do not want the default channels)
1. Use your favorite Registry Editor and navigate to
HKLM\Software\HTC\Youtube
2. Now inside this, find the ProgramGuideStyle key and change its value from 1 to 0. Hexadecimal or Decimal doesn't matter since 0 is the same in both number systems.
Now you will have a Program Guide whose only default channel will be "All Videos" and anything you add will start at 2 and count up (3,4,5, ...).
Needed File: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E8OM7PD4
The above file was uploaded from a virus/spyware free system. However, I cannot guarantee that you will download a virus/spyware free file, so PLEASE SCAN THE FILE AFTER YOU DOWNLOAD to make sure it is virus/spyware free.
Hope this helps!
This is great!! That bug has been annoying the heck out of me for God knows how long!!

2.1 vs 2.5 - Favorite People Folder, Softkey Shortcut

I'll try not to digress too much but there seems to be some ongoing topic of Sense 2.1 vs 2.5. For many it is the "eye-candy" and challenge of and fun of flashing and trying new things (that hits me intermittently) but for others that use the phone a lot for business it is about usability, speed and stability.
For the most part it seems like the People Tab is one of the main usability issues for 2.5 vs 2.1.
I have partially answered this by making icons and using a program makecall.exe and adding links to my Programs Tab for another separate icon based Favorites page.
I think I can really hone this down if someone can help me come up with a way to have one of the Manila Home page softkey open up a Folder (that I have located in the Start Menu in a Folder called "Dial". I know how to change the softkey to point to a .lnk of program but I don't know a way to get the Softkey to open up a Folder in the Start Menu ...
if I can get help with this then I can (at least for me) greatly improve 2.1's usability while still getting its better performance
Bump
No suggestions on how I can make a Softkey for Manilla Home Page or otherwise point to a Start Menu/Programs folder ????
This Folder has Icons associated with a Makecall.exe .lnk for various Favorites in a stacked format , like in Manila 2.5
???
In the registry hklm\software\htc\manila
You put the lnk or exe path for the file explorer in either either HomeLSKPath or HomeRSKPath then change the HomeLSKArguments (or HomeRSKArguments) to '\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Whichever folder you want'
pretty sure that should work.
I pretty much gave up on Sense 2.5 because of the lack of programs tab, ok you get quick links but you don't get many, and if you use one of the many mods to get more it just slows Sense down even more, I do miss HTC messaging in sense 2.5 though, I know it was slow but it just had some great features.
The problem with this is that it opens the folder in a different way than when I click on the Dial Folder I created in the Start Menu.
When I click on the Dial Folder in the Start Menu I get nice icons that I created for my Favorite People (or Programs , or whatever I wanted to put in there)
When I do it through the File Explorer I get a list of the links and not the nice Icons
The only thing I can think of is either somehow creating a program to automatically press start and navigate into the folder, or you could look at using a different file explorer, there might be one that sets it out like the start menu
I think if I could get this working I could make 2.1 almost perfect , at least for me!
