Every time I reboot my phone I get the Activity Home(in process android.process.acore) is not responding. Then it asks me to foreclose or wait. Anybody know what this is? I don't see any effects of it. If I tap on wait then everything loads fine, but if I hit foreclose nothing loads. just curious.

I'm thinking a badflash/download
or maybe just a bug
but it sounds more on the likes of bad flash
redownload
wipe/reformat your ext/wipe/repair ext filesystems
then reflash
tell me what happens
Rouge widget could be the problem?

Same here, started to appear when I upgraded my A953 (Motorola Milestone 2) to Gingerbread.
After 3 re-flashes and a complete data wipe I narrowed it down to Smooth Calendar widget. As soon as I installed it and added to the home screen, the Activity Home force closes reappeared right after bootup. Sometimes it completely froze the phone.
So my general advice: also try removing widgets, one of them might clog down the acore (Activity Home) process.

I don't know what happened to my phone recently but for some unknown reason, I was unable to open Marketplace and Opera Mini Beta 5 this morning. For Opera, it opens then closes right away with no message. For Marketplace, it opens then closes with a force close message. All other apps work fine.
So being desperate, I cleared the delvik cache (or whatever the option is in the boot up menu) and that seemed to fix the marketplace force closing. But for Opera, it wouldn't open until I did an uninstall/reinstall. Now I notice that there's something wrong with the Movies app. It says the app is not installed when I tap it. So I go into the Marketplace to install it again and it says that it's already installed with no uninstall option! I go into the settings => Applications and it's not there.
What the hell happened and how can I fix this please?

You probably have some left over files on your SD card (if you are using one that is). Clear everything from your card, and then reinstall.

Did you try to clear the data from settings>applications>manage applications?

thanks for the reply. Yes i actually do that with a lot of apps pretty regularly.
I also just pressed Maps and it went through the initial page like its the first time to press it ever or after an update. It doesnt happen every time with this app but sometimes. Again its not a big problem just kind of curious...Im going to keep track of all of the apps this happens with, maybe its native apps only, not that that would necessarily mean anything to me. Oh well, i forgot to mention i have the test froyo so in all probability its just a temporary issue until the official 2.2 is released.
I'm alos using Froyo and i don't have this issiue. do you maybe have a app that clears everything, like cache?
What i noticed in Froyo you can clear everything, if you do this the app acts like a fresh start. I had this with browser, lost all my bookmarks. Luckily i had a backup with titanium.
I don't have an app like that afaik but it sounds like it could be the cause so I'm going to go ahead and check my apps again. Thanks
If you are running an app like Advanced Task Killer or any other task killer app, you need to make sure Maps and Market are on the exclude list. From what it sounds like, you have it set to kill apps whenever you turn the screen off. So when you click on Market, it asks you to accept. Try this. Go into Market. Hit Accept. Click the home button, then click back on market. Does it prompt again?

So i tried what you said and when i immediately reentered the market i didnt get the terms and conditions page. Ive accessed the market 4 times today and ive had to accept terms twice.
However i stopped using a task killer a month or two ago. Could it be some app interfering?
Also, I have one nexus one that i use just to charge a battery so i exchange batteries usually at least once each day, i wonder if that could reset it? Except Maps has worked fine all day and i have to go through the initial info screen in that app every now and again. strange...
One last thing. When i use Flikie HD wallpapers, about evry third time i use it it freezes my phone and i have to pull the battery, but im not exactly sure when i installed that app and i believe the market/maos and other apps issue began prior to installing it, but possibly not. A lot of factors in play here
Well I have read many forums that have this problem and most of them pass me up. The only time I get "android.process.acore" FC is when I am adding widgets. This happens about 95% of the time. I moved my widgets from SD to Internal storage. But I still get "android.process.acore" FC, when I re-add them to my home screen... So I rebooted and cleared cache, still no improvement. I am running Cyanogen 5.0.8 and Slide Blue Theme. Like I said, its not that big of a problem, but I would like it to work properly. So what could be the problem?
P.S. After I long press on home screen, select widget, select 4x1 or 4x2(depending on what widget) press ok, then "android.process.acore" FC appears, I wait awhile, then I hit FC, my phone resumes to home screen with the new widget I selected. But why does it have to say, "android.process.acore" FC? Weird......

Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App

I had the same issue and looked at this thread. I can not post links.. thanks.. anyway if you were to search and see codedotgoogledotcom/p/android/issues/detail?id=2377
I removed some widgets and it still happened. I followed the last solution to the post and removed my peep acct and it seems to have solved the problem, for me any way .. HTC EVO 4g on froyo (back to stock)..
It randomly downloads and resets all my screens and set up. What is causing this?
Thanks
Try going to settings/apps/sprint id/force stop
I would factory reset it and try it all again.
The next time you get the notification, long press it in your drop down, click app info. When the sprint id screen comes up, uncheck notifications in the upper right corner. I never installed the sprint id, that's where all the bloat comes from.

I had the same issue. Here's how I stopped it while also preventing it from using up background resources.
Open up Settings->Apps
Swipe over to "ALL"
Find "Sprint Installer"
Disable it
Never be prompted by it again
This is what I did too.. .was annoyed like anything when it wiped off my screensaver and all the apps I put n homescreens
All good now

I tried this and upon restart, the message returned. In Running Apps, Sprint ID lists Sprint Installer as a service being used, and I assume this is how this Default Config continues to be presented to me. I can stop Sprint ID as well, but it all goes back into service upon restart. Any other ideas?

Root and install a custom ROM...
Hello,
When I load an app, specifically games, they start like normal. I then leave the app by either clicking the power button or leading a different app. 2 minutes later I reopen the game app and it needs to start from the beginning, losing my spot in the game.
Is there a setting to help keep this information? Thank you!
Ok I found a possible solution. I have not tested it to full but it seems like the app doesn't need to restart as much.
You can get to the page two ways. One is by the "Phone Manager" app, the other is through settings>advanced>battery manager. Click "Protected Apps" and add the game you want to play to the ON position.
Let me know if this is correct!
