I have installed Dutty's Hybrid NO.7b TouchFlo Final and its working great . Before installing this rom, garmin xt mobile worked greatly but after installig the rom, i reinstalled xt mobile but doesn´t work and i cant find any satellite.
Anyone can help me with this?
And second issue, how can i uninstall Dutty's Hybrid NO.7b TouchFlo Final or any rom?
Tyvm.
I'm not sure why your Garmin didn't work. I've used TomTom with all of Dutty's roms without problem, except that it takes a long time to find the satellites when first run. Make sure quickGPS is current and then use GPSTest which should find your GPS unit quite quickly. And don't play with the external GPS functions because this may mess-up the internal GPS and require a hard reset to resolve.
You can't uninstall any Rom - this will be overwritten when you flash a new rom.

The Kaiser uses the internal GPS which will (in most cases) be automatically detected by the software. There are reports that changing the external GPS settings can prevent the Kaiser from seeing the built in internal GPS unit.
I've never used the Garmin so I can't really comment too much on how it is set-up. I do know that with TomTom the internal GPS is automatically selected, or I can select other NMEA device from within TomTom and this also works as long as I get the correct port (com 4 in my case) - but NOT using the WM6 external GPS settings.
HTC Kaiser works great with Tom Tom Navigator and iGo My Way Plus 2006 - software made for Windows Mobile
Garmin software it is for Garmin hardware . XT Mobile it is a first incomplet step for Garmin in PDA an smartphone market.
I'm using Garmin Mobile XT on my Kaiser with Dutty's No.7b and i'm very happy with.
As soon as i have entered my Software unlock key, GPS will be connected without any problems. But without software unlock, Garmin searches via Bluetooth for GPS receivers....
Hey i got garmin XT but i cant seam to get it to work, it has NO signal at all
com port 4 is selected in the External GPS setting window and NONE/4800 for the next window
which garmin xt version are you running? i never have a problem with mine.. or are you indoors? GPS is really sensitive to line of sight, you need to be outdoors or in your car for it to work.
try installing GPSTest (you need to install this via ActiveSync) and run itu on your phone. it will search for a satellite and if its successful all the bars would come up. switch to your Garmin XT and voila.
remember to do it outdoors. oh and update your quickGPS map...
it's weird people having problems with Garmin XT, I have had zero problems version 5.00.20w
I have a Garmin XT v 5.00.20wp and everything working fine. What is a problem, maps or GPS? Sometimes after flash new rom I have a little problem with GPS localization and then I point my location on the map and then press "Where Am I" and signal is appear.

excuse me for bad english
5.0.20w seems to hang for me after a few times of use on each boot. Then I need to soft reset. 5.0.10w is more stable for me.
Yes it happens also to me.. i wonder what went wrong..
i have to agree with dmh2907. sometimes it took me ages just to get a lock into position. Just get outside, trust me it'll work
Try this, http://blog.mohdimran.com/2008/11/htc-touch-pro-gps-problem-tweaking.html
At least, it worked for me.
I have thesame problem when i install it on Samsung Omnia ... but i figure out why. You dont have signal becouse you don't have SIM inside your phone when u search for GPS signal.
This is my guess .... I know that OMNIA dont find anny signal unless you have phone signal - that meen that u must have SIM inside phone.
I hope u will fix that problem.

I have Installed TomTom and it works but cannot find maps because a memory leak for the moment ( somebody is working hard on this haha) but in the meantime should maybe help to have the network automatic on, so TomTom can find the maps on the sd card?
Or/and automatic usbtool on
Is there somebody who really navigate with TomTom????
Some input is appreciated

I did manage to get TomTom running, but it crashed within minutes because of lack of memory. I installed TomTom to the internal memory on WM side and stored the maps on a network drive on x86 side.
Now I'm using Garmin Mobile PC with Franson GPSgate instead. Works like a charm
Deadnex thanks for your reaction.
The TomTom did not crash without the maps. I finally put the map in the sync folder but that did not work either, got just a black screen. So I tried the garmin nroute with gps gate and that is perfect but that program is not so good and a very tiny view. I got XT working but it wants to have a garmin gps, if I want to use the build in gps I need an extra activation key, the details map is working. It is like you driving your car but when you want the speed of 80 km /HOUR THAN YOU HAVE TO GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD AGAIN. How did you overcome this???
It is most practical to have all automatic ON, like gps, usbtool and networking and do all the software thing in the vista side, there you have much more software and possibilties.
I only look for travel and phonesuite software on the vista side
Regards
you don't need to buy gpsgate with my rom. you have gps2blue. nlook for instruction in my rom thread.

anyting details?Thanks
Yes!! Thanks for your input!! it works indeed perfect with pc mobile and gpsgate and I got win7 the latest to work, very stable this version recognised all the drivers and the snapvue with a clean install. This is really a big difference gps2bleu is not stable the connection is fluctuating, so I am back with gpsgate. Windows 6.5 is on his way with fingerfriendly today screen and more network friendly, so who know what that will bring to us
I only use the snapvue to connect gps and phone to the vista/win7 side because there are much more progtrams to use.
Somebody who knows a program for vista or win7 or xp that works as a phone suite sms calls etc
After i install the Garmin GPS, device cannot search the satelite? it is my device or ROM cause this problem? Because it work before i flash the new ROM.
And one problem is my internet explorer can display the websites toolbar but cannot click or select it? Do i need to update any other ROM or Component?

i m using Garmin GPS as well, and it just work fine for me after i flashed the roms, at first after i flashed it, same problem occur, but after when i checked and look into detail, actually it's working, just the signal strength icon in the Garmin GPS isn't increasing and always remains in the red signal, maybe you can check out with it first after updating ur QuickGPS and try it at the outdoor... hope this helps...
Just want to share my Garmin in HTC TP. Having trouble to begin with after upgrade my device from TyTN II
Use the radio 1.12.25.19
Open the Garmin and change the Remote GPS to GPS Intermediate Driver. This solved the missing signal bars on the main screen problem.
On the main screen just click the signal bars - then click the "Disable" button
Click the "GPS Intermediate Driver" and then click "Enable" button.
Enable Advance GPS
Hope helps - just my 2 cents
radio after rom
i dont know if this pertains to you, but your talking about flashing a rom and gps not working afterward, so it might. Every time i flash a new rom my gps stops working. As soon as i reflash the same radio i already had, everything kicks back in and works just fine. I dont know if it actually helps to reflash the radio every time you flash a rom but it seems to help.

After flashing radio you should check whether in Settings/System/External GPS/Access is checked "Manage GPS automatically". If not, check it.
There's a hotfix for this in HTC Website.

I'm running i00's ROM and want to access the GPS on the Vista side.
The GPS works fine for googlemaps on the WM side, but I can't figure out how to get the GPS usable to Vista applications - I already have software to use the GPS position data waiting on Vista.
So what do I have to do to see the GPS?
Thanks

You should use my latest rom "age of reason" if you want gps. It has all the necessary instructions for that.
