a question about radios

is there anyway to "shelltools" flash my radio rom? I've been missing a lot of calls lately and it really is becoming inconvenient. I havent unlocked my phone, but i am running wm6 using shelltools (mfrazzz's stuff) and i was wondering do i even need to have my phone unlocked to flash my radio? i dont want to lose my warranty so thats why this matters to me. Any ideas guys?

You may get the official (in your case, T-Mobile, I guess) ROM to flash your phone with the full set of WM5 ROM (e.g. IPL, SPL, OS and Radio). As you are using the official ROM, you do not have to CID-unlock your phone prior flashing this official ROM. After that, you may then use shelltool to update/upgrade/flash the WM6 in, while the radio is untouched (e.g. still using the one you've flashed with the official ROM).

i thin i have done what you said already. Before i flashed mfrazzz's wm6 rom i flashed the latest tmobile rom, then i proceeded to flash the wm6 rom. I didnt use shelltools to flash the official tmobile rom obviosuly, but i did use shelltools to flash mrazzz's wm6 rom.
these are my things from what i'm using now:
ipl 2.26
spl 2.26
gsm 02.25.11
os 2.18.0.0

Flash the t-mobile uk radio rom 2.19.11.. that'll work for u.

ur OS is wrong if ur running wm6...

2.18 is Crossbow Reloaded... or Faria's..

can i just flash that right now without being unlocked? i'm in boston, does that matter? lol

oh, my bad then lol.
and yes u can change ur radio without being unlocked

(post #34) he says that if you dont cid unlock before applying the radio rom you will brick the phone.
next im looking for that uk rom, but i really cant find it, can anyone point me in the right place? and even though im in the US it will still work right?

I have flashed my RADIO ONLY several times with no consequences for my CID LOCKED G4 Wizard, here´s the link for the RADIO ONLY

You have flashed RADIO only on you G4? HOW? I am having the following problem:
I had to flash a T-Mobile German ROM to use the shelltool for the latest WM6 ROM, it worked but unforunately I have got Radio 2.69 and IPL 3.08.XXX1. (from the latest official MDA Vario ROM flash before)
After the Hardreset everything went fine - I've got WM6, but after i had changed the Clock settings and restarted my device i simply have NO SIGNAL anymore. I am currently in australia maybe thats the reason???
I tried to install the offical T-Mobile AKU 2.0, but the RUU shows me error 296 as I have installed a later ROM AKU3.3 bevor my WM6 flash.
Which tools have y used? And how is the procedure?

No, we can´t flash a ROM with bootloader other than the one you have if you have a G4 CID locked device. Unless you use a RUU with no ID (see next paragraph) and the nb.nkf file lacks of IPL/SPL, such is the case of the Wizard Love which I use before to flash any other ROM with the Shell Tool.

Read carefully where talks about Splash Screens and Splash Only RUU for G4, same procedure for splash screen applies to RADIO. This doesn´t work for OS, for OS you have to use Shell Tool.

I just got a dopod c800 AKA p4350.
Its got WM 5 on it. I wanted to upgrade the same to WM6.
Have read the threads but couldnt figure the english rom version and also need some help on upgrading.
can someone point me to the right rom and the instructions.

Whatever you do, if your SPL is currently 1.XX do NOT hardSPL or use USPL. Use the official RUU to attemp to flash your device. IF it changes your SPL and IPL to 4.xx then you can use HARDSPL and USPL.
Other than that, you can download the official WM6 from the thread that's stickied that talks about all the ROMs.

Upgrade question

Sorry for Offtopic but, i cant install official wm5 rom cause.
The ruu with wm5 doesnt work> connection error
The .nkb doesnt work with ruu mun> file read error
What to do???

Are you sure it is .nkb? Wizard doesn't use that kind of ROM...

What?? Of course he uses. I extracted the RUU and rom file from .exe instaler.
What could i do? I tried also flash it with softspl and i didnt work.

Well,which rom you are trying to flash and which rom is at present running on the phone,plz be specific ?This problem usually occurs when trying to flash a rom in a language different then already present on the phone.Are you running a Russian or some other language OS on the phone and trying to flash with a rom in some other language ?

I have T mobile mda vario g4 and i want to install official wizard wm5 rom in german language. And i cant.
No i am running wm6.1 with english language. I had never, after the hardspl, problem with flashing g4 roms. Everithing worked perfect with muunˇs RUU.
I have english rom( all instaled roms were anglish) and i want to downgrade to official wm5 german rom. And tzhen upgrade to another wm6 or wm6.1 rom.
Why i cant??
Sorry. U are right. The rom file is. nbf , and yeah the official rom is like that.
If i try to flash it with ruu in official pack - i cant cause wrong update tool ( no connection)
And if i want to flash this official rom with munn ruu - file read error( something wrong with .nbf file)

Ok,I got your point. You are at present on wm6.1 latest custom build rom in english and you want to go back to your phones official wm5 rom,ok ?
Right,well,as you have done 'HardSPL' your phone and its IPL/SPL is patched to IPl 2.21.0001 and SPL 2.21.olip,right ?
ok,now as you have patched to ipl 2.21.0001 & spl 2.21 olip through 'HardSPL',its not possible to revert back to official rom,untill you remove the 'HardSPL' from your phone and flash the original/official IPL/SPL of your phones carrier Rom bootloaders.After only removing HardSPL and getting the official ipl/spl,it'll will be possible to flash the official wm5 rom,ok
Now,how to remove 'HardSPL', read and follow the method as instructed in the 'Sticky' in the G4 forum by dharvey "How To: Remove HardSPL"
Well,then again,if you want to upgrade to another wm6 rom,you'll have to either again use 'HardSPL' or 'SoftSPL',but,if at all,you want to flash with another wm6 rom,then why first downgrade to wm5,why not straight away flash the rom while with HardSPL still on the phone ?

I have very strange problem with wm6.1 rom that i would like to use, until the new paradox rom will come out. i will try it for sure.
U can read about problem in wm6 subforum in windows Mobile 6.1 slim editon thread.
So do i have any option unless to remove hardspl?

well,if you got a problem with the wm 6.1 slim,then just flash another wm6.1 latest rom e.g by 'it's right' 'TNT 19199 series Professional Rom' as I have personally used it and found it to be an excellent rom,without removing HardSPL and reverting back to official wm5 rom.Just give it a try,I'm pretty sure you'll like it and may sove all your problem,as it'll replace all the rom files of the previous wm6.1 slim rom.

To remove the hardspl u need 2 minutes. I removed it and tried to instalruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_382120_026911_tmo_de_ger_ship
Again once again i get the message from ruu = error file read.
Could somebody open that rom and look for problems.

Right now i want to flash another official rom( from remove hardspl thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342744) and it say again file read.
What could that mean??

I just succesfully instaled ruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_ rom with ruu in the rom` folder. I tried also the T-Mobile MDA Official WM5 Rom (old) with his ruu and it didnt worked. Also softspl didnt work on both roms.

now i flashed wm5 rom aku 3.3 and the ipl/spl changed to 3.08 . Before was 2.26 which i got with instaling ipl/spl pack.
Is that bad for g4 with ipl/spl 3.08 , is it safe to install wm6.1 roms?????

Does anyone have SPL 1.94

Hi guys. I've got a problem with my Kaiser and so have to return it for warranty repair. I've reflashed the original rom and radio but can't find the 1.94 SPL.
Does anyone have it or can extract it for me? I'd very much appreciate it

the spl is in the original rom that you flashed. Give me a copy of the rom nbh and i'll extract it for you (or tell me what provider you have and i'll look for rom on wiki and extract it for you).

The provider is 3UK but they've never released their rom. When I backed up my original rom I understood that I couldn't backup the SPL from the device so have been searching for it through the forums ever since. I've managed to extract SPL 1.93 but I'd prefer it if I could find a rom that includes SPL 1.94.
I think the WWE roms 1.56.405.5 and 3.02.405.0 each had 1.93 so when I get a chance I'll try 3.10.707

I extracted the SPL from all the HTC roms up to version RUU_Kaiser_O2_UK_3.29.206.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship on the wiki. I flashed each SPL to the device and each time it reported the SPL as being version 1.93 which doesn't seem right so I'm wondering if it's not updating the SPL on my phone correctly

Hi can somebody tell me a radio rom which is for german cards like a vodafone card. I had the problem that i can not turn the phone on by every rom that i flashed. I had use the 1.17.25.26W and the 1.09.25.14 but both does not work

Have you installed the correct rilphone.dll? Is it Simlocked?

rilphnone.dll? what is this an where can i find it? It isn't simlocked

are you using a WM 6.5 ROM? and, did you flash HardSPL (1.56 OliNex) to your device before flashing? not being able to turn the phone on with "every ROM you flashed" suggests that you have the wrong SPL (e.g., have not used HardSPL or USPL to prep your device before flashing).

I had used Hardslp 1.56 before flashing

I'm assuming from above post that HSPL 1.56 was successfully flashed then? Did you check SPL?
You can find rilphone for each radio in radio thread (which is where you should have posted your query!)
