Is there any advantage to having a magnetic stylus for touch diamond 2?
As far as I can gather the phone has resistive, not capacitive screen.
Many apps use the magnetic function to do some things.
(S2U2 can automatically unlock the phone when the style is pulled out)
Thanks,The stylus in my phone activates the phone when I remove it but it is not magnetic.
But I want to get some spares in case I lose it And I have the option to get magnetic.
I don't know If there would be any advantage or problems if I do.
no difference - i would say go for default ones (for td2, un-magnetic)
ps. capacitative & resistive screen has nothing to do with stylus

Hi,
I use magnet holder in my car to hold diamond in place. I saw manual specifically says to keep it away from items suspectible to magnetism. But is it for a sake of a diamond or other items? Can I damage diamond by using magnetic holder?
I put my Diamond in a pouch with a magnetic flip cover. Haven't noticed any problem. Same goes with my Hermes previously.
The warning in the manual is for things that store data magnetically, like credit cards and the like. A magnet to hold the phone in place is fine.
The Diamond already has a magnet inside it for the stylus. This should mean something.
here in teh shop we have a magnetic key to unlock our stop locks on our accesories, these magnets are very strong. i have put this key in my pocket with my diamond and no problems at all
i think magnetic carholder is no problem
Does anyone know where the stylus sensor is located? I am having trouble with it, and the stylus is not moving in and out like it used to. I pushed what looked like a magnet back into the side of the stylus port, and now the stylus moves freely again, but now the sensor doesn't work at all. In Gyrator, it just shows STYLUS, not IN or OUT like it used to.
Thanks
Switch...
It's not a sensor, it's a micro-switch located about a third of the way up the stylus slot. It's operated by a small plastic 'notch' which releases the switch when you draw the stylus out. It sounds like the plastic notch is either broken or missing altogether. Take the back cover off, remove the stylus and look in the stylus slot level with the first 'n' in 4GB Internal Storage. I don't know what you can do about it if it is indeed broken?
Thanks.
I had it working again after messing with it with a paper clip, but it didn't last long. Guess ill wait for something else to break, and bring it to Sprint for repair. Funny thing is, the phone is less than a week old.
I recently purchased a Vogue off of ebay and tried out the SD Card version of Android running Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2. I wanted to do this before installing to NAND to try it out. After trying it out for a bit I noticed that the touchscreen is not that sensitive.
For example, if I try to swipe with my finger from left to right to get to the second home screen it requires me to swipe from the very edge of the device (if I don't do a swipe across the whole screen it doesn't work well) and push down hard (as compared to another newer device like the iPod Touch). Tapping the screen works fine. Other things I noticed about the screen is it isn't easy to view it at an angle and pressing down with my finger sometimes changes the color of the area immediately around the finger.
My question is whether the device is faulty (in which case I will try to return it to the seller) or is that just the nature of this older touch screen. Or maybe it has to do with the fact that it is installed to SD so it is slower to respond?
no there is nothing wrong with your phone.. the vogue uses a resistive touch screen witch requires a little more pressure than say the itouch or any new touch screen device... they have a capacitive touch screen witch uses electric currents i think.. i prefer a capacitive. but try the screen calibration app and press lightly that might fix your problem
and you shouldn't press very hard they could really mess up your screen
Try using your fingernail instead of pressing harder.

I am used to using a cheap stylus at work (free stylus from tradeshow).
With my last Samsung galaxy s4 active, I can register touch or draw line by lightly glide the stylus on the screen surface with no down force.
Now I have G4 and the same cheap stylus don't work as sensitive anymore. I will get discontinuity if I try to draw a line and sometimes even lock screen when I try to swipe home screen.
Just wondering if someone have a known stylus (hopefully not with a fat round ball tip) that is known to work well with G4?
My S-Pen is over sensitive. It activates when it's very close to the screen or when I barely touch the screen briefly. Very annoying. I have a tempered glass screen protector but still it's over sensitive. I have seen many solutions to increase sensitivity, but not to decrease it. Is there solution for this?
Did you increase the sensitivity because of the screen protector? Is is better, for spen at least, if the sensitivity is on default setting?
Define, "activates." What does it do?
With default settings, and a glass screen protector, my phone recognizes the S Pen when it is within 12mm - about 1/2 inch - from the screen. That's when the little circle appears, and the Air Command button highlights (for example). I rather think it's supposed to work like that. You shouldn't need to touch the pen to the screen or apps like Glance wouldn't work.
The s-pen detects pressure by sensing how hard the nib is pressed, thus the phone can recognise by determining where the pen is on the screen and the pressure exerted (you can test this by pressing the nib with your finger, and hover your s-pen on something you want to click)
You could try removing the nib and re-inserting it back, if that helps

No, the Touch Sensitivity is turned off in Settings.

By activate, I mean it will launch apps on the home screen, open links in by web browser, etc. I get the little circle when my S-Pen is close to the screen and it works as it should. That's not the problem.

I tried replacing the nib, but it makes no difference. I have a second S-Pen that came with the phone and it does the same thing. So, I don't think it's the S-Pen that is the problem, it's the sensitivity of the screen.
