Never been a fan of theme's but the Enoch 1.3 caught my eye.
I made a Nandroid backup of my perfect current state of my phone with the stock theme, etc. If I ever wanted to go back to my stock theme, etc I'd just run Nandroid restore? Or is there an easier way to switch back and forth?

Either that or you can reflash the rom without wiping.

I was running the latest Cy and just for fun I wanted to try the latest Xrom. So I did a nand backup, tried the Xrom, then flashed back to my backup.
Now my Market is gone as well as Google Voice and a couple of other things. I thought nandroid preserved everything? I've never had stuff missing after a restore. I suppose the new rom messed up my partitions?
I also just clashed a new recovery, but I didn't think that would effect anything?
You need BART or Switchrom for a full backup.
So it looks like I need to start all over then, huh?
yes, i think so, just go back to stock 1.6 i guess and go to whichever rom youd like, xrom, cyan etc.
Can you flash a theme if the version stated is different then the one you currently have?
No, not usually.
What happens if you do o_o'
Try it and see for yourself (just be sure to do a nandroid or bart backup first)
you may get stuck on the G1 screen, but yeah itd be smart to do a full back up haha
I've never installed a theme on my Nexus yet but I have on my older Motorola Cliq, and I can't exactly remember the process of reverting back to stock without a nandroid...
so 2 questions
If I go the MetaMorph way, how do I go back to stock?
same thing goes for flashing an update.zip btw.
I'm on CM6 stable
Stock morph that pushes the stock files.
Same goes for update.zip.
Since both have a high likelihood of not being in existence, you'll be better off with nandroid.
Thank you. Can I somehow back up those files before the flash?
If you know exactly what files you're morphing (by looking at the morph and checking which files it modifies) - yes, you can back them up using ADB.
I have to take my daughter's Cappy in for a warranty exchange because of battery draining too fast. She was running Fasty 2.4 and had to go back to stock. I restored with the nandroid backup we created before. I may have screwed things up a bit because of restoring that way.
Although we got back to stock, none of her apps returned in the drawer, including Android Market. The only apps in the drawer are bloatware and superuser. CWM recovery is available. There is no My Files either. Did I miss a step in doing the nandroid restore? Hoping we can get her apps back. Really don't want to take the phone back with so much missing.
Thanks for any advice.

Reflash stock. Don't restore the nandroid.

+1. To elaborate a little bit, just use odin one click to flash back to stock eclair. Dont restore anything on it just take it back after you flash and make sure its all together. But if you want all this stuff on your new captivate that you will root and flash I would make backup to an external SD card using titanium backup.
I've flashed eyebee's excellent ROM, really chuffed to have his rocket ROMs back.
Only issue is I also flashed his theme, and I am really not getting on with the colours
Will it take a re-flash of the same ROM or v2 to change back to a more conservative theme?
if you reflash the same rom, you will get back to the original theme. do a nandroid backup before flashing anything. this way you can go back if not working or not liking
