Turn the phone off using software

Is there an application that turns the phone off via software rather than holding the power button down?
Ideally, with a small battery, it would be cool to have the phone auto power off at say 11:00pm time and then come back on at say 06:00am.

There are various apps than can power off the device (amongst other functions) - they are usually a secondary function of what its primary purpose is. One such example is SPB Pocket Plus - it includes various little tools, one of which is PowerOff which can be run from a shortcut, or scheduler etc.
I'm sure you'd have no problem getting the device turned off automatically at 8pm, but back on in the morning will be rather tricky given that the device is off hence unable to tell itself to turn back on!
Perhaps if you elaborate on what your ultimate goal is (i.e. why you want it turning off at night) then there may be another, better, way of achieving it.

I dont take calls at night so its best to turn the phone off. With the battery not lasting that long it would be great.
I know that Sony Ericsson phones can turn on and display a reminder even when they are off. And I used to have a Siemens phone which had an auto-off function whereby I was able to set a time at which it would go off. A minute before the scheduled off time, a dialogue would appear on screen to say that the phone would turn off in 59 seconds. Then it would proceed to countdown the seconds. I had the opportunity to overide the auto power off if required otherwise when the countdown got to 0 seconds the phone would turn off. Cant remember if the siemens had an auto on function!

I think theres two ways of looking at this thread...
phone off - physically like a blackberry can do at a set time each day etc
or phone off as in the actual phone function. I think this is more suited to your needs and I really can;t think it would be that difficult to do for the average programmer.
You are in theory making something to switch "phone" on or off as you would in the communication manager
And then tie this in to an alarm style program

Kaiser turning off autolatically in 10s

hello, i have got a problem with my kaiser, it is tuning off (entering in standby) in 10 s no matter the config than i make

Oddly enough, I'm having exactly the same problem.
No matter what is running, even apps that are supposed to keep the device from entering sleep (like TomTom, etc.), it always enters sleep after about 10 seconds. What's weird too, is that if I press any physical button on the phone, it resumes from "Sleep" instead of having to push only the power button like you would normally do.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I have a "AT&T Tilt" Kaiser, and am running a 6.5 rom w/ the eMobile radio.

i found a semi-solution hehehe
starting de audio manager and let it play a part of a music, after that it dont solve all problem but reduce it, some times the kaiser turn off after 2 min as the setting, some times it turn off in 10s
the most strange thing is than the pda never have this problem until today in morning
my rom is a pda-corner wm6,1

Hi guys got a kaiser bout a month ago and i love the phone haven't done any modifications to it all stock at&t stuff. Having a pretty unpleasant problem... when i go to turn on the phone the at&t logo pops up and then after a couple of seconds turns off, the battery is charged! I seem to be able to turn it on if i open the sim card door and leave it open till the WM6.1 logo appears, but then when i turn it off to put in sim card it turns off in seconds and does not come on. Now when it does happen to stay on for me after its been asleep for a while the touch screen stops working...
all stock kaiser
have done may hard and soft resets nothing seems to be working
don't have sync software
willing to do anything

maybe you can put a modificated rom, my sotck phone come with wi-fi, internet and e-mail blocked. i put a modificated rom and it unlock all features. its just a try, but dont forget to read all the wiki about the replacement of the rom or you can brick you phone

[Help!] Topaz Music Player Problem >>>

Hi All,
I have just bought a HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Topaz) and its very great Device. I have ONLY ONE problem which is in the music player (The one that in home screen tabs).
The Problem:
> When I play a music and then press the power button to turn off the screen it turns off and after 10 seconds the music stops and when I press the power button again I found that All music disappeared and MicroSD card is not recognized (The device don't show the storage card like its not there!).
I have tried to turn off the screen with a Freeware called (screen off) but it the same problem. Also I tried to leave the phone for 10 minuets until it automatically turn off and also I got the same problem.
Please, Help Thats my ONLY problem with this great device I have to leave the screen ON in order to play music.

I tried every thing
formated my SD
Nothing works
but when i tried TESS v2F Rom every thing worked fine
any other rom keeps making this problem
any way I suspect this maybe due to low quality SD as i think mine is

X1 restarted every 3 seconds

I have buy used xperia x1 with WM 6.1 and when i turn on on the screen appeared one MSG autorun.exe with red X but after 1 week, phone is restarting every 3 seconds so i dont know what should i do with it, this is my 1st phone with WM.

try removing the microsd card. then turn the x1 on.
if it works, delete the 2577 folder from the microsd card using your pc.

Turn off your X1 (take the battery out for a second to make sure it is off). Lay it on a table. Press the two silver buttons left and right below the screen with one hand and keep them pressed. With the other hand, turn the phone on, but keep the other two buttons pressed for some seconds.
Now you will see a grey screen with blue text. Follow the instructions (press R on the keyboard) and try if it works now.
All your personal data will be erased in this process, but you said you just bought the phone so that will not be a problem.

are you sure you don't have a microSD Card ?
most x1 comes with one
it's you have to open to the battery to find it
if you got a dir in root called Storage Card thats mean you got a sdcard

thnx for your help, ive flash the phone with sd of my x1 before you typed that procedure for repair so thnx anyway i will try another time, and ruedagar ive bought a used one xperia and doesnt have a sd card so i used one just for flashing and everything is working perfect....

Hi you all.
after some time i could actually install the 2.2 all in english.
but some things seems not to be working.
+ "Navigation" keeps for 30 minutes and still keeps on the screen "waiting for location"
+ when inside the CAR application, the mobile still locks itself. is there a way of keeping it from locking ?
+ when connected to USB, android takes too long to ask to share the sd Card and even when ON, it does not work cannot see on the macos from work or in my computer.
