I've just bought a HTC Charmer (T-mobile MDA Compact2). As I was looking for a french rom, I've read that the charmer was nearly the same (or exactly ?) pda as the Wizard. So As I've found a french rom for wizard, I tried to flash the charmer with it, thinking that if it was not good, it would reject the rom... Or, the flashing process has gone well till the 100% but now, the phone does not even want to light on.... :shock:
Do you think there's something possible to do ?? :?:

What symptoms do you have exactly? No led, no backlight, no text on the screen, no charging? What happens if you try to enter the bootloader?

In fact, after the flashing process, the phone switch off, and now, I cannot switch it on, if I put the usb cable, the pc does not detect anything, but the led ...
I let the beginnning but finally it starts !!!!
Yesterday, I disconnected the battery so as the secure one discharge also, and a few minutes ago, I put it on the 220V without hope and the led lighted ! and no it starts, but in German .. (I do not really understand this..)
So do you think that I should retry the french wizard rom ? Or this try cannot work ?
If this is the case, does someone know where I could find the English Charmer Rom (I do not find the T-mobile download page anymore) or better a french one

Well, i think that for you it's better to flash your device with a charmer ROM. On the ftp there is only a english ROM, not french.
No in fact it works again, but it's still in german ...
Could you please give me the link of the french rom ? I cannot find it...
Just a few more info...
So the phone works, in german, but there's someting really strange.. if I try to put it in bootlaoder mode, it's impossible, it switch off but do not swith on after, and not at all in fact, I have to get off the battery or put it on the charger so that it starts again...
And with the charger, after the boot, I can restart in bootloader mode, but at the second I unplug the charger, the phone switch off and it's not possible to restart witout the charger.....
Do you have an idea of what's happening ?? And how I could flash with an english rom ?? (doesn't work with the cradle USB cable..)

I think that the best thing to do is to flash the ROM with the WWE or German, as you like, you will find the ROMs on the Charmer section of the FTP.
Put your device in bootloader mode with the usb connected, then upgrade the ROM.
Indeed that would be the best solution but with the usb cable, it doesn't stay in bootloader mode, it switch off immediately ...
Do you know a reason of this behaviour ?

Hello guys, let's make it short... suddenly the display of my Diamond become black and there's nothing I can do to make it on again... I tried everything: reset, remove battery... nothing! :-(
The telephone works, in fact I can receive calls and so... and it even connects through activesync. So it's a display problem for sure! :-((
Now my BIG question: I have to put it back H3G ITA original ROM (first step), that I've found on an italian forum and the original SPL that I've found here (second step), to bring the Diamond to repair.
For the ROM no probs I suppose... I'll go thru Activesync and flash it as usual, but THEN??? I won't be able to use activesync again to flash the spl, since I won't be able to set the initial configuration! :-(
Can you help me? Some ideas??? Thanks in advance!
mmm... what if someone tells me the right steps after a flash upgrade and i try to touch the screen at my best for the initial configuration???
then i could connect to activesync again maybe....

you dont need to use activesync to flash
enter bootloader mode and you can connect via USB

I've a problem with my kasier, after the shout down, when I turn it on, it remains stuck on the welcome sceen, the one before the windows mobile screen ?
what can I do ? I don't want to reset all, because I need the contacts, there is a way to recover data without do the reset.
If anybody konws how, also under linux ( ubuntu), please post it, I really need it !

My English may not be accurate and understandable because I'm Polish ....
My problem is that my htc charmer does not turn ... after a few bad situations, I was forced to rescue kit install ... (My PDA was charged to 100%), unfortunately, after installing 80% of the active sync your phone will automatically be turned off .... I thought that it was normal so nothing that I did not ... I left the phone for about an hour claiming that the system will install to the end ... Unfortunately I was wrong because the system is not installed ... enough of this now you can not turn the phone on, even in recovery mode / RUU (if writing is something wrong correct me because I am Intermediate in the field) back to the topic ... I do not even now how to check if I charged the battery: / My question was already on the Polish forum but did not give advice for me to answer ... I hope that YOU date advice ... Please provide a rapid and specific response ... I hurry ...
Also waiting to greet and hope for the recovery of my phone ...
P.S. I have access to Windows XP and Active Sync ... Please help!
Oh and one more thing ... I can not very well English because I did not use the option "search"

Unfortunately, I do not speak Russian ... barely comprehend English ... I'll tell you it does not enter, even in the three color screen because my phone did not respond to anything ... Chargers wrap up the ... LED is not lit If you have any idea please let me know as soon as possible!
