[Q] Stylus Problem - PLEASE HELP...

Hi,
When I pull my stylus - nothing happens... doesn't turn on or unlock device.
or during a call opens "notes".
Everything is Checked - it should do it, but it won't...
Any Ideas ???
Thanks
Take out the stylus, then remove the rear panel from your diamond. Look to see if the tiny magnet strip has become dislodged. This happened to mine after I'd had it just two days... it made it difficult to insert the stylus, and it just felt all wrong, because the strip had stuck itself in an awkward position. It also wouldn't recognize when the stylus was withdrawn.
I very nearly returned my diamond under warranty, until I looked closely at the stylus aperture and noticed this issue. I fixed it with a tiny spot of super glue on the magnetic strip and deft use of some plastic tweezers... saved days of re-programming a replacement.
Mr. Orange owes me a beer I reckon ;-)
Thanks for the reply...
The magnetic strip is there... I feel the magnet working...
but the diamond doesn't recognize when its in or out...
Anyone ?? Help - is it hardware or software ????
also a problem with the magnet strip
I own my diamond now for three weeks and something went wrong with the magnetstrip..it looks like it is still inplace but the magnetic force is stronger on the outside of the phone then on the inside (where its supposed to be) I'm trying to move te strip in the right position. but is not working.(seems like te strip is in the correct position)
It just happened. Really annoying..The phone goes on when I remove the stylus. (and the stylus is holding , but I don't get "the magnetic snap anymore"

Tilt Screen Problem- HELP Please!!!

Hi guys, i'm a big fan of this site, and I'm glad Im part of it since i can use you guy's great roms and tricks. But I have a big problem with my tilt now and I wanted to see if some of you could help me with it. I bought my tilt from a friend with a broken screen, i bought and replaced the screen myself, but after a day or two, the backlight for the screen wouldn't work. The only working solution i found was by squeezing the phone and pressing on the lower left corner above the green call button so the screen wouldnt turn on while i pressed it. I decided to open it, and i put a piece of paper above the connection of the screen and the flex, and this worked for a while. But ever since, i always have to keep putting in new pieces paper or plastic to keep pressure on the connection for the lcd, i was wondering if you guys would happen to know what the possible cause is. And it is hard because when i put those pieces of papers, the call button on the front has so much pressure that it is permanently pressed. I dont know what to do now, i don't know if i should just give up trying to fix my tilt or to just buy a new one. Hope someone can help me thank you.
damn...41 views and no replies....im guessing i should start looking for a new phone
A thorough clean needed
How about carefully cleaning the flex and connector using contact cleaner? If a connection surface isn't perfectly clean, often pressure is needed to push the terminals through the tiny film of grease (eg from fingerprints).
I'd say you bought a bad quality LCD that has a wacky contact inside the module...
im going to buy contact cleaner..if that doesnt work then it's probably a bad lcd like u guys said even though i paid 100 dollars for it ...thank you very much for the replies

While replacing the screen you might've shorted something which would then only allow certain function by appling abnormal pressure.

Help!!!!

i was replacing my g1 digitzer. I had the guide with me still took me 12 hours to figure out how to do it. i disassembled assembled it thousand times before the slide was properly working and touch screen was functional. Now the problem is, something is wrong i cant figure out.
When i open the keyboard the screen doesnt flip orientation. It does on its own.
When i type through keyboard the buttons change randomly and they dont respond to what i am pressing
. The music volume bar shows up it self , the sound is very very very low from the speakers.
Camera still works.
touch screen working perfectly.
The trackball, menu button, and all those on that panel are working fine.
please help me fix this thing
This not the right place for this. But might have somthing to drivers? And know this probly won't help but u should wipe ur phone if you have not all ready.
Youll have done what i did when i swapped my housing round, i missed 1 conntction that stopped my touchscreen working,,, and then i realised i put the keyboard sensor on upside down :how embarrasing smiley:
actually i damaged one of the connectors on the strip of my keyboard
everything else is working now except for few alphanumeric buttons!

Hardware problem (buttons), please help.

over the past few weeks some of the buttons (namely left soft key, up and left) have stopped working, i've tried numerous roms just incase but it's definatley a hardware issue, now, i've dismanted the phone using the diamantos guide to see if anything jumps out at me, gave the phone a damn good cleaning whilst i had the chance, put it back together....but nothing, everything seems to be in order, all components in their rightful place but i still cant work it out, does anyone know if this is a common problem or if theres a fix as i've been unsuccessful in my searches.
actually, i just found the solution and it worked a treat, thanks anyway people.
btw, if anyone would like to know what i did then i'll be more than happy to share the solution.
Hi godofwap,
I have the same problem with a trinity I bought used. Tried to stick some papers under the buttons but that didn`t help so I`m very curious how You managed to get them working again. Hope You find the time to write a short notice.
Have some fine days,

ok, no problem, heres what i did.
before you start please be aware that this is a very delicate procedure and you should take care as this may naff up your beloved trinity.
ok, i first disassembled my trinity using the dimantos guide located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463,
now, when you get to the keyboard / button pcb take it out if, you look closely you'll notice theres a thin adhesive plastic cover covering the metalic buttons, very very carefull peel this back (i used a sharp knife to get to it), making sure not to completely remove it, try to only expose the underneath of the buttons in question, you'll see that the buttons come away with the plasic leaving the underneath exposed, now, using a cotton bud and some lightly applied alcohol clean the contacts then when all is done, replace the plastic and make sure its firmly pressed back down you may notice it making a different, kind of sharper clicking noise when depressed than before meaning its worked, repeat for all buttons.
i think whats going on here is the gum or glue from the plastic film has "leaked" if you will, onto the plates meaning theres no contact from the buttons, this would also account for the very slight change in sound when you now press the button.
i found this info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-289737.html
Nice find mate; sounds like a solution for my problem cause when I got my phone the first I had to do was to disassemble and clean the heck outta it, there was dust everywhere as if the old owner had laid it on the moon for a week. But who thought the buttons are actually separatable... strange technique.
Thanks for the hint, at least now I´ve got something to do over the holidays at my parents-in-law
Once again thanks for Your hint.
The problem with mine was actually not dust and stuff between the two halves but too much pressure by the former owner.
After I had separated the plastic film from the board I saw that there were very deep dents where the pick of the metal discs had pushed the soft pcb material down. So I cleaned them anyway and then reapplied the film with an offset of just a fraction of a millimetre so they make perfect contact with the pcb again.
Every single button again works perfectly now

S pen problem!!!

Hello All
Recently as i didnt use the pen realized that my pen wont work in a line and jump over it...Actually Dead Space!
First look at the LED light draw a direct line to down of phone
Second look at the letter M in the world Samsung Logo under speaker n draw a line to down...
The space between this two line, from up to down of phone, my pen wont show its hover when i place it over that space, like a magentic its push it to that side(see Screenshot) its scrieve in that aria i cant write there just my pen slick from there.. pushing n pulling between the two lines...
Tried many roms, resets, full stock but no chance at all
I tested my pen on Note3 n it was fine (N3 pens wont work on N5 at all)
If pen is ok so its a phone problem...
What is wrong here...i dono if it wasnt work from 1st day or if it causes by installing some custom rom kernel n changing vlotages n power by Symapse...
I dont use any kinde of bag, case or cover on my phone only a glass...

Is it a SW problem or Hw!!!?
