Hi guys,
I have a stock Magic (cupcake) with dxtop 2.5.5 running on it... it works great and I love dxtop but whenever the phone has been in standby for a while and I unlock it it seems dxtop is very unresponsive for the first couple of seconds to a point where it's really annoying
If I put the phone in standby and immediatly afterwards I unlock it again dxtop works fine
I used aHome before where I didn't have this issue.
I already tried the "disable persistent mode" but this doesn't change anything
I use Taskiller a lot so I normally don't have a lot of applications running in the background
Any thoughts?
Thx

I've done a lot of searching, on here and on google in general, and still can't find a solution. Maybe I'm just not asking the right question...
I'm using Dutty's newest ROM, but had this problem when I was just using the stock Tilt ROM as well as when using an older one of Dutty's ROM's. I have the screen turn off after about 20 seconds, and when it comes back up the time is always off. It updates properly after about 1-2 seconds, but it's incorrect for the entire time the screen is off. This isn't normally an issue unless I want to use an alarm. With the clock not updating itself continually (like every non-PDA-type phone I've ever used), alarms don't work at all. I installed S2U2, and even with the screen waking up, once I hit the slide to unlock the phone that's when the clock updates. Not before. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Or am I missing something so obvious that I'm bound to get flamed for the question? Thanks in advance!
Mine does this too, stock AT&T Tilt OS for now, but my alarms and PhoneWeaver have absolutely no problem going off at their appropriate time. It looks like it's just not updating the video card with the current time while sleeping since the display isn't on. Not too much of a problem for me as I'm accustomed to wearing a watch, but I can see how it would be annoying for others.
Seems to me that's just normal for any computer when sleeping. My Vista machine and my Apple machines all do that too. When you wake them from sleep, the clock display is behind, but instantly updates once the system is back on line. The internal clock is still running the whole time of course, just the display does not update since the graphics system and cpu are in suspended mode.
Ya' can't very well have a computer go into power saving suspended mode AND keep real time things like screen graphics updated constantly.
P.S. My Tilt does it too, but alarms and reminders all work just fine.

I agree that the screen shouldn't need to be updated constantly during power saving mode, but my problem is that none of the alarms work, and I'm just assuming that the system clock isn't updated because the display is so far behind. I'll do some more testing today... thanks for the replies so far!
The HD7 marketplace has been a pain for me all night, kept locking up or kicking me to the front screen. Zune was also problematic.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Hi, yes i have the same problem, sometimes marketplace lock up and its not possible to start him and its still kicking me to the home screen. Then it helps only to turn off and on the mobile, what i will give for a task manager to close the application.
Been problem free since I got the phone on Saturday. Marketplace and Zune have been perfect.
Had this last night. Would start downloading something then hit back.
Black screen nothing happens. Hit HOME then back into Market and it just dumps me back out.
Had to power cycle to get it working again.
Seems problamatic.

yeah same issues, restart seems the only way to clear it - and agree a task manager would be pretty handy
Same issue here..... In between the app list scrolling and loading, it just locks up.. After i toggle my screen on and off to get back to the homescreen, it will refuse to load back up along with the zune app.... Very fustrating. Restart fixes it but its a real pain
Same here, It seems to lock up specially if you scroll to fast thru the lists. I have to do a restart in order to get in the market again.
The Marketplace seems to crap out when you exit out of it abruptly. Def needs a fix. Searching is also a pain.
I wish I could explain better what I did, but I can't figure out what it might be.
I am running Captivate rooted, mostly stock 2.2 with a modded camera app, and sideloaded apps allowed (for the Amazon market). The behavior is this:
Phone takes about 5 minutes to boot, was previously booting in maybe 1-2 minutes before launcher comes up. Launcher loads and i have a slow but usable phone for 30 seconds then phone freezes, and maybe a few minutes later, launcher will restart. this whole time, i am getting double vibrate every few seconds, like something is freezing/crashing in the background (that's my best guess). I disabled all Widgets in both launchers and it does not hookup via USB once it freezes, but will charge.
This is happening with Samsung TWlauncher and with LauncherPro. Thinking this was a LauncherPro issue, I switched default launcher to TW, but same behavior occurred. I also uninstalled LauncherPro, but still no change in behavior for default launcher. I would like to try to get back to a usable phone, or if worse comes to worse, get my data off the phone before reinstalling either stock, CM7, etc. I do not have a phone recovery as I could never seem to get the clockwordmod recovery to install, so I only have reset user settings as an option from default recovery mode.
The only thing I can remember doing when this started was changing LauncherPro memory presets to see if it would stop restarting often, so I thought maybe LauncherPro was the issue, but it does not appear to be.
I reinstalled LP during a few hour period of usability, but then it occurred again and it took all day to have the right moment of unlocking my phone and getting to be able to uninstall LP before it froze again. If I wait too long to unlock, it is frozen until I restart or pull battery and try again at first bootup before the launcher goes crazy.
My main question is this:
Is there a way to determine which app is causing the problem, pull logs, etc. when the phone is off, and does not connect on USB (when it's frozen)?
If not, is there a way to pull data under same circumstances? (I'm guessing this is tied into the first answer)
If these all fail, I guess I will probably go to CM7 and try that out, but I have a hard time finding out what known issues there are as it still appears in unofficial status, since there's no downloads from the Cyanogenmod site.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. This has been a hard one to search for, so if anyone knows of other instances of situations like this, I would be glad to see what else was encountered. If I have this in the wrong forum, please forgive me.
Hi everyone,
I am using the go launcher but i met a problem.
I found that there is a service called appservice by go launcher and is consuming lots of memory. However, i can force close it and no problem has been discovered.
Can anyone answer me that what is the function of this service?
Thx for your help
I have recently installed Go and discovered my battery draining at an alarming rate. I quickly realized unlike LPP, a service was running. Since I discovered AppService, killing it seems to have solved the battery issue. I hate having to kill it every time though. Anyone else with input?
I have also AppService but my battery is good. Try to do this: press the home button and choose Go Launcher EX. After this, reboot so that the default LG launcher doesn't stay in memory. My memory last days. Depend on the use, I think one day I reach 4 days (with go launcher ex)
Yeah Go's my only launcher, it just drains like crazy. I don't get days with any launcher unless I don't do anything on the phone, in which case id save more battery by simply turning the phone off.
Maybe you guys can help me, because the P30 Pro is driving me nuts. How on earth do I get it to stop saving power?! If I wanted a phone that only does single tasking and isn't able to do anything in the background, I'd get a Nokia 3210.
For example: I'm listening to music in the car. Then I pause the music playback via my in car controls. After a few minutes I want to continue, so I press play. What happens? Nothing. The music app stopped running, because Huawei thought it is absolutely necessary to achieve 2 days of battery life. Here's a trick for you if you want to achieve that: Turn off the phone! I'd rather have half a day than something that is this useless. It gets worse. I use an app to warn me about speed cameras. Well, it doesn't work on the P30 Pro. Because even when I go to the settings and go to the app, then details about battery usage, and then tell it to continue running in the background... the app doesn't get any GPS information in the background. Which is bad enough to begin with. It NEEDS to run in the foreground. As soon as it is in the background... IF it even keeps running, because it usually doesn't, despite me telling it to... no GPS, no function. I'm also using a GPS Logger for my photography. Guess what: Doesn't work on the P30 Pro. Because the app just won't run in the background. I've even set the phone to the power mode. Jup, doesn't help.
What. The. Hell.
How can anyone live with this sort of insane "optimization"? If Huawei had ONE place where we can RELIABLY tell it which apps to keep running in the background, and maybe a setting where it just doesn't optimize at all, then great. But this...?
Edit:
Ok, so I did find ANOTHER setting, well hidden, under Apps, then Apps, then the three dots, special access, battery optimization, then select all apps. And THEN are you able to AGAIN tell it not to optimize. Why is this so hidden? And why aren't users, like, warned? Normally, you can reasonably expect your apps to run in the background. And you can rely on it. If the phone does not want to behave that way, tell me. Then I can say if I want this behavior or not.
Ok, some more testing, and... some apps just won't keep running in the background. They just won't. Any ideas? They work on other phones. I've never had a phone they didn't. But the P30 Pro... no chance. Screen goes off or I go to a different app... and goodbye.
you can read it here, its for mate20pro, but it works for p30 aswell

Cool, thank you.
I did try a bit further, and without changing anything else, it looks like after a couple of restarts and some more attempts of running the apps in the background, the phone is starting to behave. Still no final verdict, but it's getting better. If it's still too annoying, I'll try the Power Genie thing.
Disabling Power genie has finally fixed my Softphone problem. it finally keeps running in the background to receive my business numbers.
