I just finished flashing the hardSPL. Then i went on to flash the Cell Pro V9.5 ATT ROM. Everything was going fine and then my phone froze at the start screen where it says: Preparing your phone for first use. The Today screen will be displayed hen this process is complete.

try a hard reset. hold the two hard keys for send call and end call, and the power button. then follow on screen instructions.
I did a soft reset instead and it worked!!! THANK GOD!!! My phone is ok now. Thanks so much for the help!!!
P.S. Not sure if this is a problem but right after the startup screen loaded and then another screen loaded with the today screen wallpaper behind it loaded the game fruity started up.
Is this a problem? Will it happen again?

Yea, it's normal for that ROM. I removed it in the \Windows\Start Menu\ folder on mine but there might be an easier way on the cook's posts.

Check Start>Setings>System>Remove Programs. Sergio says it's "removable".

I spent the night learning alot abot my new to me Wizard. I actually managed to follow advice on here and overclock it to 240mhz, installed the latest Skype version, Hitchiker, WiFiFofum and Picsel viewer. This all took me about 3 hours as this in my first windows mobile device.
Just about to hit the sheets and the thing crashes. I figure my battery may be dead so I try to reboot it. I get the HTC splash screen and hit craps out on the Windows splash screen. I attempt it again and it hangs up and now it wont start.
I have read in other posts how to get to the bootloader and I can get that screen to come up.
I guess my question is.....What now?

Just Hard reset
You'll loose though all your installed stuff
[Hold commanager and voice command button and press reset. Keep holding the commanager button and the voice command untill it asks you if you want to format, press call and wait ]
Hard reset? By that do you mean remove the battery and restart? I can't turn the phone on at all.....
Please explain what I need to do to get back to square one....Sorry for being such a newb...

this was all i needed but hardly dared to ask for
ya when my mda fell off the bed onto the hardwood floor and only came to the windowsmobilescreen ...i was bummed. Now it works again thanks to this very simple fix...I came here steeling myself for a radical solution involving roms and unlocking and home brewed utilities that I don't know much at all about. This saved me all that mental cruelty. Thanks

have you removed the battery for a couple of sec's and then reinsert the battery and see what happens?

Well lets see a Kaiser is about .25lbs or 100grams if you prefer. Pop it in the microwave hit Defrost and Put in .3 lbs. (JUST KIDDING!)
If pulling the battery doesn't work try to Hard Reset. The Main Question here is, what changed from when It did start up good and now. Did you get a bad flash or is it time for a Warranty Replacement?

Yup Such is the pain of Hard Resetting. Which is why we try everything else before we do that. Soft Resetting. Pull battery, Soft Reset while standing on your head. Glad to hear Hard Reset Worked.

My Tilt is doing the same thing. I'm stuck on Dutty's load screen.
I think I know what I did to screw it up also.
My battery was completely dead so I plugged it in. I tried turning it on as soon as I plugged it into the charger. I don't think the battery had enough juice for a full startup yet, so it got stuck half way through. Now it won't load up for anything.
If anyone knows something I can do besides a hard reset, please let me know.

I finally got around to updating to the latest stock rom on my Tilt and am having a problem trying to get the bloatware customizer to stop. If I hit ok it keep going, if I soft reset the device does a clear storage and the fun circles around again.
Am I missing something? This is the first time I've run across this. The last Tilt rom and all of my 8125 roms had no trouble skipping the carrier customization.
I'm tempted to finally bite the bullet and put a cooked rom on, but other than the carrier crap I've been content with my phone although I'm still running a dutty's baked version on my 8125

You have to push the reset button before the customization notification pops up(right after you tap screen to start using), wait a second to long, and it will just start over again like you said.
That was it, I had to push the click next screen to start using it with my thumb and immediately reset it. damn id10t error lol.

Ok, I'm going crazy, basically my diamond ain't responding.
It's been hanging itself quite frequently lately, but I just soft resetted it and it worked fine afterwards.. until it hanged itself again and so on.
But yesterday after I did a soft reset, first TF3D wont start, that text saying "Click here if you want to start TF3D" aint even showing. It's just a black empty space where TF3D is supposed to be. It does respond when I tap like contacts or so, but only the button itself, the program aint starting. Only thing responing for real is S2U2, it starts and quits as usual when I pull in and out the stylus and when I turn the screen off.
Do anyone have any idea how to fix this?

have you tried a hard reset? beware that would delete all contacts, mails, msgs, etc.

Yeah I figured that is my last option, but I'll wait for NisseDILLIGAFs' new ROM. Weird enough though, it started working properly yesterday.

wonderful... piece of advice... keep a diamimg.nbh on your internal storage - just in case you ever face a problem which u cant get out of ... u can always re-flash from int. storage

my custom ROM flashed Blackstone has this nasty habit. After some days I try to turn him on but the screen stays just black. The only way to bring him back to life is to take out the battery. Because of these freezes I overslept multiple times as the Blackstone did not wake me up.
I tried Goldlocke, Gregor G10 and Topix. I always do a task29 before flashing a new ROM. I also tried multiple radios like 1.13, 1.14 and actual 1.17. Before I had Dutty 4.3 which did not have this problem.
If anybody can give me a hint about the problem I would be thankful.

Try to delete the "Application data" folder in your microSD card.

I had similar problem, so I sent my phone to repair. Now I have new motherboard and display. Everything is O.K.

No lockup since almost a week now! It seems your "solution" works fine. Do you know the background of this behaviour?

probably you have installed something onto the sd card and not uninstalled it or flashed new rom, leaving the data still on the sd card and the device reading it as it would..

YES, I flashed original SPL, original firmware. The problem was still here. So i sent the phone to reclaim.

I have two: HTC and Maxsense. In maxsense its just an image. in htc its databases and imagecache

Just tried myself deleting app data but still no joy....
I have found that my HD locks up in the dark !!
If I have the phone in my pocket, 9 out of ten times it locks up.. Only once it has locked up out of my pocket !! Screen lock is also on to stop any button press problems..
I have switched auto back light OFF and Pocket mode OFF but it still does it..
Any thoughts / Ideas please ???
try uninstalling neos drivers, and if you can't, install nmet cab to disable this drivers. in some blackstones neo's drivers seems to cause this problem.
