I'm just wondering if the 1.33.2005 spl was from the magic and was not made for the g1. What if the current hardspl or engspl is hex edited to allow space like the 1.33.2005 spl so the phones won't brick.

That covers the "safe" SPLs, though in theory a bad flash with any bootloader can brick a phone. If you're interested in the "Danger" SPL, which is also known as the Haykuro SPL or the "newest" SPL, check the link in my sig. This SPL really isn't a problem to flash if you have a PVT board and if you make sure to flash to the latest radio first. It also frees up more room on your device, because it takes up less space and repartitions your device accordingly.
Is death and danger the same spl, I have 1.33.2005 and have seen it called "danger".

I need to know whats the best spl with the highest range of compatibility because hardspl isnt going to cut it forever, or is it one of the best? and whats the difference between death,engineering(the developers i believe?) hryoken (dont know how to spell it) and hard spl?
there are 4 spls, stock, hard, eng, and the spl of many names though technically the 1.33.2005 spl. basically you will either use the hard spl or the 1.33.2005 spl. the 1.33.2005 spls opens up more space in /system and /data so that you have more room for roms and themes. it can also brick the phone when flashing it. you really didn't search very much before making this did you?
I think haykuros danger spl is the best but its danger to flash this spl

so hard and engineering spls are pretty much the same thing while all the other spls that can possible brick your phone, dont add anything? just more space?

on my mt3g for tmobile.
Is this the right one? and is it the danger or the death?

if you have a mt3g....you dont need the danger/death spl (which are indeed the same)
the danger/death spl is a htc sapphire spl ported to dream. Go to the sapphire section to get their latest spl.... the danger spl is required mainly due to space constraints on the g1 which the mt3g doesnt have
using the .2005 spl ported for the dream on your mt3g MAY brick your phone

I used this site to root my g1, while it claims the SPL on the site is the Hardspl, I believe it's the danger spl, can someone confirm this for me?

danger, hard, soft, death. haykuro are all the same thing more or less, they all work for the same purpose.
just sorta nick names for them since flashing them have the greatest chance of bricking your phone if done incorrectly. originally it was just Haykuro's
