Boost AFAIK is part of Sprint, and Sprint uses CDMA, which is different from the GSM bands that the G1 uses, so no.

Its been a long time since I've been on here & I am loving all the new stuff I am seeing!!
I need a little bit of help...
I am changing Service Carriers from AT&T to nTelos & I DO NOT want to get a new phone. I LOVE my Tilt & have done SO MUCH custom stuff to make it a little bit more me (I mean Hours upon Hours of Downloads, Programs, Custom S2U2 Battery/Weather/Wallpaper fixes). Just the idea of having to do it all over again makes me want to cry. Is there ANY way I can change my current AT&T network setting so that my phone can be use on the nTelos network? nTelos has the PPC-6800 (which is comparable to the AT&T Tilt so I know that the "Phone" shouldn't be a problem since they support PPC phones) so how do I change the current setting to make it w/ the ntelos Network? Any help anyone can give would be MUCH Appreciated! I am DESPERATE!

Is nTelos GSM? or CDMA?
I got my ATT Tilt to work on my Canadian Carrier by calling my customer support....if your new carrier has a WM phone, they should be able to guide you through setting up the stuff so that MMS and internet works over 3G/Edge/Gprs.

nTelos is a cdma network like verizon or sprint att is gsm you can't use gem phone with cdma i hope it helps

I am currently using Tmobile Webconnect USB Laptop stick. I have tried to use the sim in the Webconnect stick and use it in an iphone - it works but only running as EDGE (since iphone uses 2100Mhz UMTS instead of Tmobile 1700Mhz UMTS band).
so I have purchased a Tmobile Mytouch (HTC Magic 32B) but it keeps saying that Data Service Required and my data connection is not compatible. I have used the APN epc.tmobile.com and this is the same setting as in iphone. For some reason when I use the mytouch somehow Tmobile detects the phone and forces it to use its web2go service instead.
Any idea if I can change the model number of the Mytouch to a generic HTC Magic, or if anyone knows how the carrier detects the model number of your phone?

I have recently unlocked my g1 to put it on the at&t network and I got the API in and it doesn't allow voice to have the priority when I'm using data. Someone can call me and If I'm in the market or browsing with the phone it won't receive the call!
Is there a fix for this ?

Didnt you see the ATT Vs Verizon commercials?
ATT does data plus voice @ the same time on 3G
You cant get 3G w/ G1 on ATT
Verizon lacks this, might be flaw of CDMA not to sure

Don't rape me with logic, it's not my phone anymore, I bought the Droid on verizons network and I sold my G1 to a friend and he unlocked it for At&t.
So there no is way to fix this ?
No. There is no way to fix it. The G1 is HARD CODED to use TMO's 3G data bands, which are not the same as ATT's. You cant change it, you cant fix it. Your friend wont be able to use data and voice as long as hes using a G1 on ATT. End of Story.
I have a question.If AT&T and T-Mobile both use 1900 for 3g then why can't we get 3g on att?
Tmo US & Att use diff bands for 3G access but same for 2G.You will need to buy a Rogers Dream to use 3G on Att. A Tmobile branded phone is unable to use 3G from another carrier.

How does changing the rom affect the radio?Does the rom determine the freq the cell accesses?
the rom effects nothing. the radio effects nothing. the hardware determines what frequencies can be used by the device.
the only way the rom effects anything is if the APNs arent set correctly, but thats a simple fix. however, you cant change the APNs or ANY software on the phone to allow a TMO G1 to use 3G on ATT. Cant happen. If you really want a G1 on ATT, buy a Rogers G1 off ebay.
Is it possible to reprogram a Tmobile G1 to use Verizion? If so can someone point me in the direction of where I can find the firmware/procedure for reprogramming. I got the phone for free just to try this so there is no loss if it gets bricked, I'm willing to try anything that might work. Thanks
Short Answer: No, not possible.
Long Answer: T-Mobile is a GSM network (uses a SIM card) while Verizon is a CDMA network (does not uses a SIM Card). Since the G1 is on a GSM network, you will not be able to get any signal from Verizon.
Just buy a droid or a droid incredible if you want an android phone on Verizon.
