assistance pls! cm4.2.14.1 ebi1 to KiNgxKxlicK AOSP 2.1 - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I recently upgraded my radio and got a EBI1 port of CM, due to the whole Rogers problem.
I was wondering now, if i want to go to KiNgxKxlicK AOSP 2.1, how would I go about this?
Current radio 3.2.26.17
kernel 2.6.29.6-cm42
recovery: RA-dream-v1.5.2R
Thanks in advance

Read my post in the g1 dev section (not qestion n answer), it has all your ebi1 needs, please comment if it helps or any recommendations, as this helps keep it alive if it never does get stickied.

Question about the radio.

Im currently running modaco r22 an im looking to try out one of the froyo roms but i saw that i have to update my radio i was wondering if i update my radio so i can install the froyo rom if it will stay updated, if i dislike the the froyo rom an want to come back to modaco do i have to degrade the radio? or if i do a nandroid backup i dont have to worry about downgrading the radio?
(if anybody would like to help) *which is the best froyo rom?*
Wrong forum, this should be in Q&A. But if you want to go back to a non-Froyo ROM, you can flash a 4.03/4.04 radio just like you did the 4.06 to downgrade.
oh sorry for placing it in the wrong forum, so basically if i get a froyo rom an dislike it i just have to flash the radio i have now?
If you go to cyanogen 5.0.8 you don't need to downgrade radio. On any other non froyo rom you need to downgrade radio.

Some people get crazy when stuff's posted in the wrong place.
Basically, if you upgrade to CM 5.08 or a Froyo-based ROM, you'll need the 4.06 (Froyo) radio.
If you decide to go back to a 2.1 (non CM 5.08) ROM, you'll want to downgrade your radio as well, otherwise some things may not work properly (camera, etc.).
Thread moved to Q&A.
Oh ok thanks a lot tjsimm... I really appreciate it.

No problem. As for the ROMs, I've been enjoying Kang-o-Rama 0.9. It's now in Final, and it's rock solid. Haven't had any issues at all.

[Q] Overclocking Rogers Dream

Hi I'm fairly new to this, but I've already rooted my Rogers Dream and updated to the latest Froyo 2.2 Rom by Cyonogen. I was hoping that someone could lead me in the right direction to overclocking it, if at all possible. I've used the search and found some information, but it seems to be for older roms, or they don't mention rogers dreams, which I assume are a little different.
Simple link to the proper thread where I can find the info, and I'm sure I could figure it out. Thanks!

[Q] (Flash to Biffmod 2.1) Non US Radio possible?

Hi all,
sry i have to start this topic but search here/other forums and even google gave me no results.
i whish to use Biffmod 2.1 on my HTC Dream /Dev Edition
in ROM topic is said:
"Radio Required: 2.22.23.02"
i just wanted to know (i´am EU-User) if i could go with "2.22.19.26i Non US" or is it simply not possible. so that i have to use 2.22.23.02
are there issues when using a US Radio in EU?
or does this have nothing to do with localisation
thanks and greetz
You can use both radio images, but probably you would like to use the +14MB RAM hack. You need a special kernel for that but this is existing. You should read in this thread and you can download the 2708-BiffMod from here.
To be honest, I never tried BiffMod. I am using Gingerbread now
thanks for the heads up.
but just to be clear. what you´re trying to teach me is, that flashing to a up(to)date radio and SPL (death spl) isn´t enough to run biffmod?
i even have to some how "manage" to get the 14MB+ RAM and ne kernel.
sry i´am a little confused now. working in this rom flash the whole day
greetz
You can use the "standard" method, i.e. DangerSPL, but I would not recomend it. You can gain additional 14MB RAM (not internal memory!) If you go with the other combo. The only "disadvantage" is, that you need a kernel which supports this combo.
It's your turn now to decide

After reading I'm assuming that the suggested route is following ezterry's hboot and radio update before installing Biffmod v2.1? I'm currently running a G1 with the 1.33.2005 HBOOT, 2.22.19.26I Radio, and CM6.1.0-ds. Also does Biffmod's ROM include the kernel or is it the ROM itself because ezterry's post suggested installing the kernel but I'm not sure if the ROM includes it.
Thanks

I've answered in the other thread.
Please ask the moderators to merge those threads, there's absolutely no need in both of them.

[Q] Simple-Ish Question

Hey guys i've got a simple question for you all. The question is, that are G1 roms compatible with the HTC Magic (32b). The reason i ask is because i just installed CyanogenMod 7.0.1 unofficial (SlashDW) rom on my phone, and it works perfectly fine.
Also, when you see roms in Rom Manager, they say for Sapphire/Dream G1 so i'm thinking, that it must be compatible. Also the roms which i see in rom manager, when i try to search them here, they all come under the g1 development sub board, so this leads me to think my theory is correct.
If i am correct, how are we meant to know, whether the rom is for 32b or 32a? or does it not matter? Sorry if they're simple questions, but i just flashed my first rom today so don't have much experience.
Anyways thanks for your help in advance.
depends on the rom... if it has auto-kernel or just a magic kernel than it will work for you... it's Ebi0 or Ebi1...
Thanks for the reply but please could you elaborate a little more, as i still don't understand fully. Cheers .
In the magic section they are generally specified by radio and if they are 32a or 32b. You just need to look at the title of the thread or the OP will normally tell you when you read it.
This will work on both
Ginger yoshi 1.4 (android 2.3.5) for 32b and 32a old and new radio
And this will only work with the NR (New Radio 6.32.13.19) which is not compatible with the G1
(ROM)CM7.1(2.3.5)Sapphire32a(NR-6.35.16.19)
While this one is only good for Old Radio's and 32A

This page will tell you the differences in the Magic 32A/B, and how to tell which you have. The HTC Dream/T-mobile G1 uses the same 32B board as some Magics.
As the two boards are very similar, many newer ROMs are built to use an installation script to auto-detect which kernel to use (the boot.img), but the rest of the system will be identical. In the descriptions for the ROM, look for words like "auto kernel" or "EBI0/EBI1".
I recommend the Bananna Bread rom. Works with mine Flawlessly amazing, and based on CM i think
who helps?
