Fake/3g over wifi emulator?

Hi, i have senn around some apps are using restriction for 3g only (like skype) and also the tv program for the bell vibrant. I were wondering, is there any way to "emulate" 3g over wifi? (making the phone think it is on 3g when it is actually only on wifi?).

Skype works over WiFi.
I don't really understand what you mean. I use Skype on my Galaxy S and everything works over WiFi.
But if the app only work if you're online via 3G like Navigon Select (T-Mobile 3G network to check if you're really a T-Mobile user) than you can't emulate that because you must have an IP that were given you for 3G.

T-Mobile doesn't need you to have a T-Mobile 3G connection to know that you are a T-Mobile customer, at least not technically. The notion that it might be tied into their user verification system is a discouraging one, and I'll admit entirely possible, though I hadn't considered it.
Anyways, I was looking for 3G emulation for T-Mobile's visual voicemail, not Skype. Thanks for the info.

Would love to have this for Nexus S where Internet Calling(VOIP) requires Wifi into the Original System, but on Cyanogenmod it works over both Wifi+3G but i prefer to stay into Original OS plus having VOIP call over 3G

[Q] Google Voice app not working on Rogers/Fido 3G

Hi,
I have the Captivate GalaxyS (Android) on Fido
I have noticed recently my Google voice app has stopped working over the 3G network, when I connect to wifi it works fine.
I use the app for visual voicemail, and not for calling.
If you are on 3G make sure you sign out and sign back in, for some reason the app works over wifi but not 3G
Any one experiencing this? could it be possible that Rogers/Fido is blocking the google voice app?

I thought that Google Voice wasn't enabled in Canada.. am I missing something?

video calling

hey anyone plz tell me any ROM have video calling or not, and ics will have video calling...

u can use video calling on skype,gtalk,fring .......
but as far as i know video calls over network are not available in android as of now .....

Video calls work over my 4G mobile network and they worked when I was on VM with 3G. The streaming quality might not be the best over 3G but it still should work somewhat.

but guys mi350 n galaxy 2 have the video calling over the network..

Hey guys. Totally in love with my Z1 international*version but was really sad to see that this phone has no native 3G calling , Im not talking about Skype or some app..rather the old school video calling ...All my Samsungs including the Note 3 have the ability to do this...is there some way to get it on the Z1?

WiFi Calling on T-Mobile Possible?

So I totally forgot that I rely on wifi calling while at work. I have a tmobile S8 active and it works wonderfully but I ordered a P20 Pro to try out and didn't check to see if it supports wifi calling. Is anyone here using it on tmobile and know if wifi calling works? Thank you!
