Whenever I get a call or I call someone else, while trying to talk to them, the person on the other ends complains that it is static-ie and can barely hear me. I have had those complaints from many different people so it's not just one person.
How could I fix this? It's not static-ie on my end and I can hear them perfectly.
This is very annoying and I would appreciate any help
Anybody?

i tried teh speaker phone on my tilt and on the receiving end it has a ton of static, is that normal? you baiscally cant understand anything being said when taling in speaker phone, i can hear out of it just fine, it's just who i talk to cant hear hardly anything but static. any fix for this?
There's several others having similar problems. Some people suspect that Kaiser's speakerphone is half-duplex only, and that may be a hardware or software problem.

Thanks i'll take a look.
Hi
I have this strange problem where if i receive a call from someone I can hear them but they cannot hear anything im saying (this is NOT using speaker phone as i know there are issues relating to that). This is a normal call with the phone up to may face.
The really weird part is if i call someone they can hear me but i cannot hear them. Its as if depending on who start the call there is only 1 way communication.
It started doing it about a week ago where it was every second call or so with the problem now its every single call that is affected.
I have tried 3 different roms and 2 different radios without and luck.
Any ideas or am i going to have to flash it back to stock and send it in for repair?
This is so annoying....
I have had a lot of problems using my speaker phone on the tytnii. To summarize, most of the time when i use the speaker phone, the person i am calling cannot hear me though i can hear them. This does not happen all the time; but more often than not (more than 50%).
Now here's where it gets strange. A person in another forum said to try initiating a call without being on speaker and begin speaker after both of you have talked. I tried this and it seems so far that my speaker is working better using this approach though i dont no why.
I am far from saying that this resolves my problem; but do find it interesting. I just started doing this so cant say for sure if it always will cause the speaker to work; but so far it seems to be working though i still have gotten complaints that i sound like im in a tunnel or something; but atleast they can hear me.
I guess the real test will come when i am in my diesel truck as there is a lot of background noise. At any rate, just some information i'd like to share as i would like to get some feed back from other users who might also like to try this to see if the results are reproducible. Hopefully, next update will resolve the speaker phone issue as this is a work around at best; but who knows.
Same
I too share the same problem. Although i have an Tilt. Same diff i suppose. I can agree with your method, and same complaints when it does work. I too have not found an exact answer to this problem.
I've got the Samsung Captivate not even 30 days used and just yesterday the sound for calls stopped working completely. when I make or receive a call I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me and there is no dial tone during the calling process. The speakers work fine, the microphone works fine and the speakerphone speaker all work fine I have no idea whats causing this. If anyone, anyone at all, could help me figure this out. I've tried resetting the phone as well as hard reset. I've messed with all the settings and am running everything stock except that the phone is rooted which was done 2 weeks ago so obviously not the problem. I've googled this for 2 hours and looked everywhere and am getting sick and tired of this. Please if anyone can help me I would be more appreciative than you could imagine. Thanks.
It's difficult to say what exactly is causing your loss of sound with only phone calls. I suppose it could be a number of things. I read the software update AT&T is pushing out this week is fixing some issues such as that; however, from just looking at the forums people are having major trouble with that update. The easiest fix I can think of is to turn up the voice call volume. During you next phone call use the volume rocker to turn it up. It may have somehow been turned all the way down. I hope that helps.
Yea i tried the volume rocker, I am just going to return it to the store since it's still in the first 30 days. I can't figure out what the heck it is, probably just a defect :-/
I tried unrooting it, reseting to factory defaults, and still the same problem. The speakers work fine for music, the phone is in amazing condition and everything is fine, it's just the darn voice calls, incoming and outgoing just don't work, the other person gets the call and it registers but no sound comes out. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this before I go back to the at&t store, it's quite far from where I live and living on campus makes it a bit hard to get there.

Well, I just got the same problem too. I was unable to listen anything on voice call and the other person can't hear anything too but the call is connected. I noticed that I could make phone call and hear the voice call but as long as the call ends, I can't hear other person if I make another call again. Please help. Thanks!
Hello guys, I have a weird issue and maybe someone can help me. I have a Z3 compact and every time my girlfriend calls me, the call is muted, she says she can hear me but I don't hear anything, as if the phone is not on a call. She says it only happens when she calls me and funny enough, I receive calls normally from any other number.
I've tried disabling all the call improvements, but the problem persists. I have to hang up and then call her for the phone to work properly. I've done a search here and on Sony's forum and came up with nothing.
She has a Z1c by the way.
What do yo guys think?
I experience the same problem, very annoying if you ask me... I don't know what to do, thinking about asking to Sony
I know this thread is old but did you ever find a solution?
My problem is the opposite. I hear the person perfectly but they can't hear me. Hanging up and calling again usually solves it.
