Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I ordered an Nexus One engraved today morning at around 1am. I wake and I find out that it has been shipped and will arrive tomorrow. Is engraving really that fast (They do mention that it will ship within 72 hours)?

It should take 1-2 days longer. I would call google.
1) No, it does NOT take 1-2 days longer. They still ship out the same day almost all the time
2) It's because it's not engraved on the back. It's "silk-screened" on (printed on, not engraved in)
I ordered mine on Thursday and got it Monday with the engraving.
Bad news though...even if you have a defective phone and need to return it, its an additional $45 According to HTC anyway. I wanted to send mine back for a replacement (3g issues, of course) but decided it wasnt worth $45 plus shipping plus loosing my customizing over the chance that another would be better. Its really a no-win situation they put you in.
Thanks for the information.
gospeed.racer: I did not know that HTC would charge you a fee to fix/replace a defective phone if it's engraved. That really sucks because the warranty should cover it regardless of it being engraved. I just hope mine does not have any issues.
I am sure if you fought hard enough they would help you, but I was pretty pissed when I was talking to them and they were standing firm. I can understand that the replacement would not be engraved, but the phone was (at that time) less than 24 hours old and had (has) issues. I was very close to calling mastercard and inquiring about a chargeback.
Well... I received mine yesterday and it was engraved. That was quick.
As far as I can see I have not come across any issues. Still messing around with it.
hmm, i dont think that information is correct. i had mine engraved and had it replaced because of dust issues under 14 days and was not charged anything however i was sent a brand new unit and lost my engraving. not to mention. the new unit has the same issue of dust but i can live with it. i miss my engraving though
Same case here......
I ordered my phone ytd nite but when I woke up,I received the "order shipped" email!!
Are they that "efficient"???
I ordered mine engraved but got it normal

As already stated in this thread, yes, that is normal.
This has been posted like 3 different times before. This is normal. I had to return my old T-Mobile nexus one and I didn't get the engraving back, but I personally didn't like it. Now I have an att nexus one and its literally perfect.
I bought a nexus one today from someone locally, and at first I didn't noticed any dust under the screen, but when i got it back to work and looked at it more, i noticed a little bit. The N1 person told me that they wouldn't be able to send me a new one because it had the engraving of the other person that had bought it. So this thread gives me hope that they might just send me a new one!! I really hope they do, haha The screen has a few more dings in it than i noticed when first looking at it. I got it for 400 bucks, tho, so hopefully that was a good deal.

Hey everyone
What is your worst experience with someone?
Mine is, funnily enough, related to an XDA that I bought off eBay...
I sold my XDA Orbit 1 to a friend of mine for £167
After I had collected a decent amount of money, I found an XDA Orbit 2 on eBay for £257.50 including postage. Auction said brand new factory sealed xda orbit 2, with pouch, charger, box, co pilot 7, and it listed all the features for the xda orbit 2. Seller had 100% positive feedback (115) and was from Essex. Seemed pretty decent.
Bought the item...a week later. No emails, no item. Had to call their house multiple times and everytime I would call, someone else would answer and I could never get to speak to the seller (he was always at 'work').
Eventually I get an email from the seller....'sorry I couldn't send the item any sooner, my account had somehow messed up and I needed to reset the password. Item will be sent tommorow'.
Great! So I should be expecting the item soon. I go to school next day, and when I get picked up to go home I ask 'did anything come in the post for me today?'. The reply I got was: 'Yes, a parcel'. YES! The orbit 2 has finally come! After about 1 and a half weeks of waiting its finally here!
I rush home banging my knee on the way in (im soo anxious!). I look past the door and see a big, brown parcel addressed to me. I grab it, run to the living room and rip the packaging to shreads!
I have removed all the packaging, and take the box...I turn it over only too see it say: 'XDA Orbit' with the picture of the XDA Orbit 1 on it. Thats right, the seller sent me an XDA Orbit 1 and not the XDA Orbit 2! He sent me a Artemis and not a Polaris! He didn't even include the memory card for the CoPilot 7, or the USB cable for the PDA, handsfree kit, pouch, etc. All missing!
Nnooo!!! I paid £250.00 for something thats worth £120.00!
I sent the seller an email and got a reply soon after. He said sorry just return the item if your not happy with it.
Posted it off today, so I should be expecting the refund.
Oh well, it happens and it will happen to everyone some day!
So whats your worst experience with someone? I bet people will mention alot of stuff to do with eBay aswell!
NEVER buy anything off ebay. people have recieved fake chinese mp3/mp4 players instead of ipod nano.
when you see unexpectedly low price, just don't bother yourself.
i bought my athena from here, £260 with blocked imei, great price at the time, as i alredy had a phone for calling...
paid through paypal, and it came a day later by special delivery.
When I sold mine, i made the mistake of selling to italy, and it didnt arrive. it might well have arrived but he said it didnt, and the post offiice said i couldnt post a phone recorded to italy, so no tracking number, and me with no money and no athena
but i guess it wasnt really an ebay prob...
Also, i bought a psp from ebay when I was like 13, and the guy stole 75 quid off me... luckily i got some back, but not all of it.
In fairness, ebay generally is good, i picked up a 5m gold plated 2 rca to 3.5mm jack for 2 quic including postage...
so its if you wana take the risk on big things...
Rory
i bought a faulty hdd TV recorder second hand which didn't work from an eBay seller.

hmm i wudnt totaly agree i bourt my HTC TyTN off ebay ages ago for £100 quid....i was convinced it was going to be rubbish probly with bustted buttons and stuff hanging off it u know the drill....
....i was completly wrong it came like it was brand new! id say the only thing wrong was that it didnt come with earphones and it had a small dent in top left but it is unnoticeable
but i do agree it is very hard to get cheap stuff without it being fake!
Tell me about it...
I've had loads of problems with eBay, not just the one with the XDA.
Once I bought a remote controlled BB tank from a business seller. He was advertising it as 'BRAND NEW'.
When it came, it was opened, the BB pellets were scattered all over the box, clearly second hand, when I tried to use it, it literally broke after 10 seconds! Someone tried glueing the wheel back on as it had broke!
It was so crap aswell, it didn't even fire that good! The remote control sometimes didn't work aswell!
Another time I bought a 1/6 scale electric rc car. It was massive but after literally 12 hours of charging the battery it would only run for 15 minutes - It would considerably slow down after the 3 minutes! The rest of the 12 minutes it would be slow and then after that it wouldn't run at all!
I was driving it and it skidded on some ice, and smashed into little pieces after it hit a parked car! Lmao as funny as it seems now, it was kinda annoying back in the time!
Another time I bought a slingshot which snapped after a month
I bought some rifle mounts for my air rifle scope which were advertised as 30mm, but when they came they were too big!
And just now I have found out that a 2Gb memory card I bought is fake!
I don't even do much transactions on eBay aswell! I've only bought about 30 items from there!
Anyway the moral of the short stories are...don't spend any more than £15.00 when buying from eBay! That way when it messes up you won't kick yourself as hard!
Also you should know, don't SELL on eBay either. You get stupid buyers who will buy the item, leave you good feedback and then a month or two later issue a chargeback on their credit card! People even try and scam you to get your items!
By the way I have just noticed, I have exessively used the exclamation mark in this post (!) LOL
So i would like to upgrade from my wizard to a tilt. I can get a Refurbished Tilt for $149 through ATT by extending my contract. I was advised to stay away from refurbs by the the local ATT franchise location. I get the feeling like he would rather have my business. So would you say its worth the savings? Im sure a refurb is as free from cosmetic and software/hardware issues as a new phone?
Your suggestions?
Thank you!
Josh
refurbs are fine, i have one, and plenty other ppl here use refurbs, $150 for a tilt?? you cant beat that
They say any device has a high percent chance of breaking in the first 30 days if it is indeed going to break. So when you get the refurb phone you will also get a 30 days????? warranty too. In theory, if it doesnt' break within that time frame then you should be mostly safe with that phone.
150 buck for a kaiser is an excellent deal. Dont miss it.. Don't bother on warranty or whatever, just dont miss the deal if the device looks okay and works just fine.
Regards,
Carty..
You should have bought it last week for free. I got my BRAND NEW tilt when they first came out for 179. The 150 deal for a refurb will only get cheaper. It's not an amazing deal.

I hate refurbs. I got one yesterday through a warranty replacement and it is scratched up beyond recognition. Granted, the 7201 chip was fast, but other than that, it was disgusting. There is a high possibility someone did something awful to/with it..

That sounds odd -- refurbs are *supposed* to be "like new". Have you contacted ATT?
I got a refurb for $199 on 2/6/08. Yesterday, the screen wouldn't come on (the green power light and bluetooth light were blinking normally). Did a soft reset. It started to boot normally so I set it down to wait for it to finish. When I picked it back up, it had the same problem. Soft reset again. This time it comes up w/ the boot loader screen.
I didn't want to mess w/ MTTY, so I took it in to the store down the street. They sent me to the warranty center about 10 miles away, and it they replaced it no questions asked. I'm pretty sure I now have another refurb, but that's OK.
I was running the latest stock AT&T ROM w/ some HTC software, but nothing exotic.

I did, and they overnighted me a new one, which I just got 30 minutes ago.. It's in better condition than my own phone, and I'm anal when it comes to my gadgets!
Refurb Tilt
I'm very happy with my refurbished Tilt. It looks brand new, except for the scratches I caused from drops. I got it for the $150 price with the 2 year contract. It has been unlocked and a HTC rom has been loaded. Its an amazing phone. It has replaced my Moto e680 and my iPod, due to Resco Radio (streaming music over 3G) I've added an 8gb mico sd card, Moto S9 bluetooth stereo headset, and the adapter to charge and audio out to my car stereo through a cassette adapter.
I'm on my second refurbed tilt (the same deal as yours, $149 with the extension of my contract).
My first refurb tilt's screen died and I had to send it back. The weird thing I noticed is that when I received my replacement refurb, it had more plastic protection pieces than my first refurb. I'm not sure what that means, but I've had no issues at all with my second refurb.

Maybe you should look into the Thread for the Sleep Of Death.
My first refurb AT&T Tilt had a completely screwed up keyboard.. The whole area around the right soft key on the keyboard was raised and it was nearly impossible to type any of the keys nearby and the screen pressed the softkey constantly, waking it up and hitting the right softkey on me randomly.
After much fuss with AT&T to actually order a replacement phone for me (TWO times they supposidly did it but didn't in reality!) the replacement seems to be good.
I'd like to find out if folks have trouble SIM unlocking a refurb phone.
No, I didn't have problems getting the unlock code from AT&T. But the code didn't work. After a lot of fuss AT&T told me to go back to the DSC (Device Support Center) and get another refurb (warranty exchange). Now I'm on my 2nd refurb and got another unlock code from AT&T. The code still doesn't work.
Apparently I followed the instructions to the tee. (FYI, I got my original brand new fully paid for Tilt unlocked following the instructions so I know the drill).
So I'd like to find out if any of you have similar experience in unlocking a refurb. Thanks.
i used to think that refurbs were no big problem, but when my original brand new tilt GPS stopped working warranty sent me a refurb to replace it, long story short it didn't work and neither did the other three they sent me to replace each one before, i even got one with a cracked LCD, i would say go to the att store and get a new one where you know that is has never been touched by anyone stupid and you are gauranteed to get a working phone. my att store credited me the money towards the phone when i told them i could get the same phone on newegg for 150, they charged me 150 and i got a free bluetooth headset with it as well. look around on sites like new egg and when you go into the store tell them that you found the phone cheaper elsewhere and ask why you should buy from them and use your upgrade when you can get the phone cheaper online and use your upgrade with att for something else. 9 times out of 10 they let you have the cheaper price

Please put "Factory Refurbished" on the title.
Anybody received theirs?
Here's my story:
Order placed 9/30.
Tracking number issued 10/6 (OK, fair enough; they claim within 6 business days). UPS shows "A UPS shipping label has been created . . . ". That means the shipper has done the UPS paperwork, but not yet actually shipped the item.
Today is 10/12, still shows the same. I chatted with support rep yesterday, she said she had no information and I should e-mail "[email protected]" so they could "check with the warehouse".
E-mail sent yesterday, received automated acknowledgement, but have heard NOTHING since then. When I call, I get an automated message that they will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and reopen on Monday.
Sooo, has anyone else ordered from them and actually received their Nook?
Yes. Got mine today. As did a friend who ordered the same deal.
For some reason, it shipped UPS to my town, then was handed over to the USPS for delivery. That's a new one on me.
I picked one up from Overstock. It looked brand new. No problems or dead pixels. This is the way to get a Nook Color. My only concern is if you have some issue you have to mail it in instead of just returning it to a local store.
I also ordered it Sept. 30th from dailysteals.
It arrived Oct. 12th.
Screen was perfect, everything worked as expected.
Apart from taking crazy long to ship, I'm happy so far.
Okay, it looks like they lost mine
I'll just have to wait until they reopen on Monday. At this point, though, they have to rank as one of the *worst* sites I have ever dealt with in terms of responsiveness (I know, I know; "you get what you paid for").

Yeah. Shipping is pretty horrendous. I'm STILL waiting as UPS sent it to USPS without scanning it, so it's a ghost in the system. It sat in a warehouse for around 3 days. Hope you guys are enjoying your devices. I'll probably have UPS pay for mine since they lost it. There goes my deal.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC
I ordered mine from this site on 9/30 (at about 10 minutes till midnight). Like others here, it seemingly took forever for them to hand the package off to UPS, who shipped it 99% of the way and then handed it off to the USPS for final delivery. Mail was unusually late today, it didn't come until around 5pm, but they did have my order. All told, it took 2 weeks from ordering to final delivery. Granted, the shipping was free, but it was the slowest shipping I have ever had the displeasure to use.

long story, bought refurbished Evo 4g off Ebay 5/11/12, received the phone, wifi and bluetooth did not work, messaged seller (via Ebay), they responded within 30 min with an apology and asked me to ship back for an exchange. About a week later I received the replacement phone, this one was a mute, made no sounds at all, I sent another eBay message and got a response saying they were sorry and to ship it back and the "boss" will pick me out a replacement and they offered to refund $15 for my shipping costs. About a week later I received the 3rd phone, this one was DOA, would not power on or charge and the camera lens looked like it was polished with 80 grit sand paper. I wrote them back asking for a refund, they offered a full refund plus 25%. They received the phone last Thursday, I sent them messages everyday after asking about my refund without a response. This morning a did a dispute with ebay and withing 1 hour I got an email saying they offered a full refund, when I looked at the details not only did I not get the refund plus 25%, I got the original $139 minus the $15 they refunded me for shipping. I called ebay and they basically said I'm on my own. Here are cut and paste from my ebay messages starting with the original defective phone. I don't know what to do from here
5/17/12 Dear chubbiestech,
Hello, I ordered an refurbished Evo 4g and received it yesterday from Ebay packing slip order # shows 14953 (33029) Order was under Brenda DiMichele. The unit was in great condition and activated perfectly however whenever I try to enable wifi or bluetooth it just says error. I spent 2 hours on phone with Sprint who referred me to a store. The tech at the store said the WiFi and Bluetooth are on the same chip and there is something wrong internally with the unit. I called your store today and spoke with Josh who said to email thru Ebay to request an exchange. I love the phone itself but I have to have working WiFi and Bluetooth. How can we go about setting up an exchange?
Their response,
Dear **********
I am sorry to hear there is a problem and I will be more than happy to help, it does sound like the phone is defective, can you please send it back for an exchange my address is below and please include your full name and ebay user id with shipping. I am sorry about the inconvenience this may have caused.

2nd phone.......
5/24/12 Dear chubbiestech,
I appreciate the fast service and I received the phone yesterday. I activated it when I got off work and the first thing I checked was the wifi which did work correctly. However the speakers on this phone do not work at all. There is no sound during boot, music, ringtones, speakerphone are all silent. Even when changing the ringer volume no sounds are made. The only sound I can hear is during a phone call, but even then if I put it on speaker phone it goes silent. I will be shipping this unit back today. Where do we go from here? I really want an Evo 4g and I even bought accessories but it seems like I have bad luck with them.
Their response,
I am so sorry about that if you like we can do an exchange my boss with personal pick one out for you and I will refund you 15 & Again I am so so sorry
Third phone,
5/31/12
Dear chubbiestech,
Normally I'm a very easy going person but my patience has run out. I received the 3rd phone today and it is DOA. Will not power on or even charge. I can hook it up to the charger you sent with the phone or one of the multiple chargers I have of my own and the unit does not charge at all. Normally when you plug in a charger the green led lights up until fully charged then it turns amber. I can plug this phone in to every charger I have and nothing happens, no lights, nothing. I attempted to power the phone on and it does nothing. On top of being dead the phone you sent my has what looks like an unusable camera, the lens is looks like it was rubbed over sand paper meaning there would be no way to get a quality picture or video. I was told the boss would hand select me a phone, I feel offended in that there is no way this unit was tested before it went out. With all the other issues I had I would have expected a working phone in excellent condition and instead I received another phone that does not work and in poor condition. At this point I will be mailing the phone back tomorrow and I hereby requested a full refund immediately.
Their response,
am so so sorry . I will give you a full refund plus i will refund you 25% I am so so sorry
- chubbiestech

Hello, im thinking of purchasing my first Android in awhile. im able to get a Nexus 6 64gb sealed for $200. any other options that do not surpass $350 or im i getting a good deal. Any help will be nice.
Don't get those sealed new boxes on eBay. Every single one of them are fake. I bought two and returned both. They are ALL used, refurbished items packaged very meticulously using the clone packaging red paper wrap.
Here is what I did. Looked up on Amazon for deals from Amazon warehouse. That's the only partially more dependable place you can look into for peace of mind. If anyone says, BRAND NEW, simply ignore. Use common sense.
I bought a Like New Cloud White from aforementioned place for 202. Came exactly as advertised. It was stuck on 5.1 from May of 2015. Absolutely unused. I contacted Motorola to see the warranty status. It expired in Feb of last year.
I updated it to the 7.1.1 yesterday and have been happy with my experience of purchasing. Best part? I have 30 days to return this. I'm still in talks with Motorola to give me some sort of warranty on possible future issues ( since I bought it like new from Amazon). Long shot but still...
Stay away from the eBay deals.
In many ways, the Nexus 6 is still a good phone. At a good price, I recommend getting a used one. Of course, you need to like the screen size, and do without a fingerprint scanner.
You will probably need to replace the battery soon. Not expensive, and not too difficult to do yourself if you are careful.
Also, the N6 is 32 bit. Not a problem today, but a few years from now, it may mean that not all new apps can run on the phone.
The Nexus 6 was unveiled on October 2014. Do not believe that after > 3 years there are unused Nexus 6 devices.
I just bought....
I just bought a Nexus 6 in 2018.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/391877228362
Coming from Hong Kong but the seller assured me it will be sealed.
Reasons why I bought it
Stock Android 7.1
High specs
Awesome display
Cheap from this person, ($90 cheaper than Amazon)
sounds good dude make sure its not a china copied one tho sumone on ebay is selling one for a 100 quid
I picked up a certified refurbished off of amazon a few months back for $150. Money well spent!
Swappa or Ebay, used but mint is good enough for $150 for 32gb, IMHO
As much as I love my Nexus 6 it is getting a little long in the tooth. I'm not planning on upgrading until the 2018 pixels come out (if they put Qi back in)
I'd buy a refurb replacement to get me through to October but I have a spare right now so, barring two calamities in the next 9 months, I should be OK.
I bought one from a private seller on fb marketplace for 120$./mint condition, unlocked clean imei three weeks ago. I love it. Running 8.1 nitrogen OS.do it! So much potential!

What! I just bought a new Nexus 6 from ebay for 200 bucks 32gb. So your saying it's fake, and the device is refurbished? Is there anyway I can tell when I get the device if it's been used? Will the imei tell me if it's been used? Im very Glade I stumbled upon this thread!
I bought a new Shamu from someone on the letgo app. I paid $175. In front of the guy I opened the unopened new box, cutting the tape. Put my sim card and it works. Phone, charger everything was wrapped and new. I brought it home unlocked bootloader, twrp, and now running 8.1 I believe I got a sweet deal. I've known never to use eBay. Amazon is sweet for it's return policy on used stuff. but buying from other people is cheaper and you can meet at a public spot and test phone before you buy. With the same app I sold my oneplus 5t for $450 prior to buying this Shamu today. I've had this phone and I just had to come back to it for the right price. Well I live in Chicago so there's someone hustling stuff. Just shoot an offer, low ball and you might get a decent price. Yeah, buying this phone in 2018 is still good.

A new phone needs to be charged before it can be used.
@NLBeev: A new device will come with a partially charged battery, roughly 40 to 50%. He'll want to top off the battery of course, which I think is what you meant to say, but there would be sufficient energy in the battery - even after two years - to power up the device.

Your right, We had to plug it up and wait a few minutes before the screen would power up. I didn't want to go into detail of everything I did...
When I bought my taimen phone last year new in box from Google it arrived and it had a 41% when I powered it on (my fav #). And the OnePlus 5t came with charge also from oneplus. Some newer phones have charge on battery.
With the Shamu I wasn't expecting it to be charged nor have juice to power up.

Seems like a bad idea. for that much money, you could get a new phone.
The shamu is great, but with my SOT being 3 hours or less, I am beginning to hate it. Cant replace battery, which leaves me to hate sealed battery phones even more.
Probably going to get a phone with a replaceable battery, even if it is a dumb phone. I am tired of planned obsolecence. My biggest issue is screen decay. My phone has horrible burn in.
Sure you can replace the battery! I can fix anything that

Sure you can replace the battery! I can fix anything that has to do with the nexus 6. I have owned 4 over the course of 4 years, and I just bought number 5 today. I always leave the N6 for awhile but I always come back to it. I like them because they are very easy to work on. I have had every nexus 6 phone iv owned took completely apart. One of the N6 I owned was midnight blue, well after about 6 months of looking at the same color I decided to change it up a little. So I bought a cloud white back battery cover and midframe assembly, and changed the blue to white, I guess I was wanting a knew phone and by doing that it made it feel new again. If you have a nexus 6 and want to make it awesome looking let me know and I will help you to change its appearance. When it comes to changing parts out of the N6 I'm good at it, don't mean to brag either. It's just something I really like to do. I bet if you change the battery it'll help with your SOT and if you wanna get the most out of your nexus 6, bootloader unlock it and root it, and install a custom kernel or find a good rom. Then download kernel auditor and tweak the CPU. If you wanna change your battery or anything else let me know and I'll help!

The nexus 6 I bought came from eBay, I paid 204 its 32g brand new! But before I bought the device I asked the seller if the device was in fact brand new, and if it came with the manufacturer warranty. He assured me that it was brand new and it did come with the manufacturer warranty, plus It came with a 30 day money back guarantee can't beat that. It's always good if your buying a smartphone to ask them these questions, because that let's them know that you know a thing or two about devices. Most people wouldn't think to ask a seller if a device that they are advertising is new when the description says its new. Just because someone tells you that something is brand new doesn't always mean it is new. You have to do your research and ask questions. I bought a Xiaomi Mi Mix on eBay awhile back. The seller of the mix told me that it was brand new.... Well at the time I didn't think to ask him if it was new or not, it said new in the description so that was good enough for me. When the mix arrived the first thing I was gonna do was unlock the bootloader, but I didn't have to because it was already unlocked, so that tells me that the mix wasn't new it was probably refurbished or something. To make a long story short. I called the seller and told him about the bootloader being unlocked, and if it were new it would be locked. I didn't give the seller to much hassle but I let him know that I wasn't stupid either, I believe he got the message.. I really didn't carw if it was new or not because the device didn't have a scratch on it, if there had of been any signs of use, just one little flaw then I would have shipped it right back to him. I was gonna unlock and root it anyways, just made my job a lot easier. The seller offered me a refund but I refused. I just don't like a liar, be honest with me that's all I ask, but some people just wanna make a dishonest buck.
If you have burn in that'll cost ya around 130 bucks for a new lcd digitizer.. It would probably be cheaper just to go ahead and buy another phone.

Any of these NEW items is not new. Think about it. 2014 device brand new and sealed, no one opened or touched it, flew through scores of virtual and physical space untouched and landed in your lap 4 years later??? yea, pigs fly. I asked Motorola to share the IMEI associated warranty of mine. It said the warranty expired 2017 Feb. I haggled with them about buying it new from Amazon. With some back and forth, I was able to get one year warranty provided I kept the receipt.
So, in short
STAY away from new items of Nexus 6 on Ebay. They are not new. If the price--199--is too good to be true, it is. HongKong ones are even worse...right from the den of counterfeit items.
I went back to N6 because of front facing stereo, HUGE screen (not the fancy 16:9), quad HD, awesome battery, and above all, Pure Android. I am not a narcissist, so I can live with a 2MP selfie camera on this one. Good luck finding all these in one device (unless you are super duper rich and can afford to shell out $920 out of pocket for an unlocked Pixel 2 XL)
Well, today either my usb cable broke, which I doubt, or the charging port of my nexus is dead.
While I could fix both the battery and charging port, in the mean time, I just ordered a Lenovo Moto G5 and a bunch of charging cables. The G5 isnt meant for me, but might aswell get one for myself. Why such a budget phone you ask? It has a removable battery.
The problem isnt the technical skills(Bunch of youtube videos say very precisely how to fix stuff), I lack parts.
Appart from aliexpress and ebay, I know not of any other place to get parts. Im in central europe btw.

Understood! However I did buy a nexus 6 from eBay for 204. I had a good talk with the seller about what kind of warranty I would be getting, and I took screen shots of the messages we had so I could have them for future,if any issues arises. I did get a 1yr warranty. This is what the seller told me. The first 3 months was free repair or a full refund, and he would pay for the shipping. The remaining 9 months covers any kind of damage cracked screen damaged digitizer, dings and dents all covered but no refund offered for the remaining 9 months, and he would still pay to have the device shipped. I love the nexus 6 I have owned several. I also like how easy they are to work on. I had a few midnight blue devices, well I got tired of looking at the blue so I changed the back battery cover and mid-frame assembly to cloud white, I have used the back battery cover from the moto x pure ed 2015 also just to change up the overall look of my N6. I also like the front facing speakers the speaker grills are also replaceable I usually take them out from time to time and clean around the area were the grill snaps in. The device is also very good on battery life, if 7a know how to root and unlock the bootloader. I believe I'll be happy with the device as long as I get what I was promised. My dream device is either the international s8+ or the note 8,but I'm just like you I can't afford spend noore than about 200 ta 250 bucks. I want the international variants because unlock the bootloaders and rooting is a priority for me. Thanks for the reply, have a good one!
