Can't boot my phone - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, i've just bought a Xperia X1 but i can't boot it..
Sometimes it reboots at the windows 6.1 screen, sometimes it stays on for a bit longer and starts rebooting when i have to tap the screen to allign it.
Every time the phone just starts over and over again with the SE logo, after that windows mobile screen for about 2 seconds and then again..
And the computer can't recognize the device yet because there's no time to install the drivers for it.
I did hard reset but while i'm doing the reset the phone just starts over again..
Anyone that knows what to do with this? Or should i just try to return it ( i have no more warranty paper or something ). Does SE warranty work with IMEI number?
Thanks a lot!

Starting to get annoyed with my phone

Gosh.. this phone is giving me so much headache recently.. first my PC can't detect my phone.. still haven't fixed it yet..
Now.. when I did a sprite backup restore.. The phone freezes!! what wrong with this phone? It's stuck on the main screen now.. all I can do it press the power button!!
Hey buddy all I can suggest (because this HAS happened to me once before).. Restart or shut down and turn the comp back on, make sure your phone isn't connected. Then soft reset your phone and let it completely boot up. Then try plugging it in and it should sync. If this doesn't help, then hard reset. I know it sucks especially if you have never backed up your phone but it usually is the only fix for certain problems. to hard reset, hold down the 2 soft keys and then insert your stylus into the soft reset hole. Leave it pressed until you see a grey screen and then follow the instructions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "it freezes". Is it your phone all by itself or is it your phone connected to your pc or is it your pc connected to your phone?
Anyway, when there is a connection and your phone is synchronizing, it sometimes freezes for a while, it comes back after synchronizing. Its annoying and mostly a vista thing

The phone just froze when it boots up.. Nothing happens when I touch the screen or press the buttons. I waited for 15 minutes to see if it was only a phases.. which it was not..
But it is fixed now after hard reset and restoring again.

Stuck at boot screen

I'm stuck at the "Tap the screen to set up your Windows Mobile-based device." The screen on my HTC 8125 has been acting flakey... working sometimes, but mostly not. A friend thought he would help out, and thought hard reseting the device might help. Now I'm stuck at the tap this screen message, only the touch screen isn't working and is not accepting the tapping. Am I completely outta luck without a phone now?? At least before I could make and answer phone calls. Now, NOTHING. Just this screen. IF there is any way around this that anyone knows of, PLEASE let me know!!
Thank you
I think you have a hardware problem
Maybe the flex
maybe the microcontroler
maybe the rom Try a new again instead the one you have
for skip this screen alignment try to search on the forum there are many ways
I simply conect it to activesync even if it is stucked at this screen it syncs with your pc via activesync... then go to explore...Windows folder.... startup... and delete the file called welcome.lnk then softreset.
Yeah my wizard is stuck to @ tab the screen etc.
I can't connect to activesync becuase activesync does not detect the phone.
Nevermind!

Try to replace a new battery, i have the same problem be4. And i discovered the battery is bulked. So I go to buy a new one, and problem is gone now.
still stuck
I have the same problem, i tried looking through explorer but i couldnt find the file to delete so that i could bypass this startup. If anyone figured anything out let me know please.
[email protected]
thanks!
1. Do a soft reset. (small hole on the right side)
2. When screen is black hold camera button, this will boot into bootloader
3. Connect USB cable (USB will show over left softkey)
4. Try to flash a new ROM.
I did this process a few times with different roms.. the best I had was using the HardSPL process, and then the NBD_v8.3_8MB rom.

Kaiser touch screen problem

Few hours ago i unlock my phone, there was a problem with radio rom, and my friend recommend to install Kaiser HyperDragon III_WWE version of WM6.1.
I install it, play 5-6 minutes and after this check some delay problem. I make soft restart and after this phone touch screen don't work.
Touch don't response. Made hard restart ... and it's the last think that i did.
At startup i check this "tap the screen to setup your windows devices ....", but as touch screen don't response .. i don't have any progress.
Try to resintall the same WIN6.1 version, but no changes.
Any advice? what's the problem.
Is there any way to fix it ?
sounds like a hardware problem. Most likely the wiring is bad or corroded. You'll need a new screen or you might be able to fix the wiring. I kind've don't like the fact that our kaisers vibrate at startup because you think it would eventually rattle something loose which may have happened in your case. Before getting a new screen though, load a new ROM. To do it without activesync enter the bootloader mode by pressing down the camera and power button at the same time while the phone is off. Then connect your phone and it should say USB after a few minutes. Then flash

Phone wont boot (only while USB is connected)

I'm having the weirdest problem.
My Xperia Z wont boot up, it will only boot when i have USB in my PC and connected to the Xperia Z.
When I disconnect the USB the phone shuts down in about 3-15 seconds.
I tried to reflash the stock tft via Flashtool.
I tried to reflash via SUS
I tried to reflash/repair via PC Companion.
At the moment stock firmware is installed but the problem is still there.
I tried to Google but I cant find anyone with the same problem.
Please help!
What's your battery like because to me is sound like a battery problem, USB is supplying power and a soon as you remove power it dies,
Boot phone up and do a service test on battery *#*#service#*#*
A maybe completely wrong
P. S. Have you had your phone near water what colour is the paper under your tabs (should be white not pink)
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium

I have the exact same problem! have you found a solution yet? i'm thinking it's a hardware problem because of the fact that i have had this problem on different ROMs and even when i flashed it back to original firmware using sony's flastool.
The battery test under *#*#service#*#* says there's nothing wrong with it...
It's getting really frustrating actually... Phone is practically unuseable...
i think your phone does not turns off, im having the exact same problem, try put the screen to sleep every 30 minutes, if it last 30 minutes with the screen on, then your phone is having the same problem i have:
something like the volume up button "always pressed" so the power button doesnt react because its like detecting hard reset combination.
if the screen sleeps, you press the power button it does not come up, if you connect the usb, screen comes up. phone is not off.
if its like that, im glad i helped at least identify the problem (if you find a solution other than sending to sony (they'll charge me because my warranty is void) PLEASE TELL ME
EDIT: I FIXED IT!!

Some serius help needed. Bootloop, stuck, bootloader not working etc..

Hi. To start with I bought a phone from a friend which I knew was faulty but decided to take my chances and try to fix it. He claims he did nothing to the phone but don't know for sure. Phone is in constant bootloop, Goes until splash screen and reboots. Worst yet to come - even bootloader menu restarts on constant basis when i try to get into it. Meaning it goes into bootloader but restarts in few seconds before i can get to factory reset. Computer is not picking up this device but i also don't have any drivers installed but don't even know how to install them with a phone in this state. Is there anything i can do about it? Been with Samsung for the past few years and here is everything completely different so don't know much about adb but am a quick learner and can follow any steps! I can provide picture of bootloader if it would be any helpful.

Send a picture of the bootloader while I find the drivers you need
Seems like battery is completely dead as it only reboots when there is power supply connected, but then it won't turn off (any charging light don't come on, not sure if it should though). Just now i've seen a vodafone logo for a very short second when I connected to pc from charger. But phone rebooted again just after.

edit. downloaded drivers (4.8) but that didn't change anything and windows still doesn't pick up device.
After connecting my one to computer for past 3 hours its started more frequently boot and showing Vodafone menu but still restarts shortly after. Vodafone logo shows on and lights on soft buttons starts flashing like 3 times and than it keeps rebooting. Does it mean anything?

That almost sounds like your POWER button is stuck!! Are you able to completely power off, and it stays off.
I think i know what it is. Power button stuck and keeps restarting device. Although i can feel pressing it, this is what it looks like.

Didn't see your comment but this is exactly how it looks to me. I can't switch off phone and in bootloader it acts like i was pressing power button. Although it operates normally meaning that it can be pressed down. Arranged warranty repair with HTC and they are collecting phone tomorrow.
