Can anyone tell me how to replace the screen on my P4600? Its all scratched up and I just received the new screen. I just haven't been able to figure out how to pull it apart.
Anyone have a website or pictures or something to guide me threw?
Thanks

Hi there. I picked up an important call whilst in the shower. Very little water fell on my Kaiser but I belive that this caused the screen to stop working. Or I have dropped it as well.
Now I tried the business card remove dust particle trick. Didn't work. So I disabled cube / Touchflo. Then I reinstalled my ROM. Basically, I can't align the screen... I tried using the Remote Screen Alignment tool as well.
What's weird is that when you leave the phone for a couple of seconds, the battery conservation feature kicks, and when I touch the screen, the screen powers back up. So I know the screen works but just not properly.
Do I have to replace my screen (or just the TOUCH component of it)? I'm not too good with hardware but can I take it apart and fix the problems?
EDIT: For those facing similar problems, use the trial version of SOTI Pocket Controller to work on your Kaiser remotely.
I'm sure someone knows what to do... please help.
I had the exact same issues you were having, I had to send it in finally so I hope it is warrantied.

nope, its out of warranty. I'm thinking of using pocketpctechs or some other similar service. Any suggestions?
I would just order a new screen and replace it yourself.

Did they replace the entire screen or jus the TOUCH component? I heard that the TOUCH surface is way cheaper.
Also, I'm not too sure how to replace it myself.
when my tilt was in warranty they just gave a new device but on the call they said the screen was dead even though it displayed and had minimal responce.
I could be wrong but I don't think it would be easy (if even possible) to replace just the touch surface of the screen.
Out of no where my phone screen is mostly white with lots of multi colored vertical lines. I tried resetting it hard, soft, and reset it to the defaults. I still cannot see anything on the screen. I assume its a loose cable to the screen, but since i am under warrenty i didnt open it up. I already have a replacement warrenty phone on its way, but i dont wanna return a cooked rom. What do u guys think the best way to reformat the phone back to an original rom?
Can you take a screenshot of it?
I cant see anything on the screen. But ill take a picture of the screen...

Thanks
from what I can see from the photo your screen is cracked
No its not cracked at all. Ill try and take a better picture.
To take a better image, use MyMobiler (although i do suspect it'll give the regular windows screen).
that certainly looks like a crack to me, it won't be really apparent if its on the back side
yeah that is for sure cracked, well unless you drew on the screen with a black marker. you do know that if you send a warranty phone in that has physical damage they charge you the cost of the replacement phone they sent you?
i tried using my Mobiler (which by the way ****ing owns) and i dont see anything wrong with the screen.

can anyone say ****? How the **** could i have cracked? (obviously u cant answer that). I already started the warrenty process. Any smart ideas?
ive read a few threads that screens will just crack sometimes without real damage. sorry man that sucks.
I appreciate everyones help. Maybe they will look past this small "crack". Do u think its possible to re flash the rom without a working screen?
yeah i suppose you could flash it but you won't be able to calibrate the screen, try it and then check my mobiler to see what is going on.
here is my next issue. I cant find the text file that i stored the original radio and rom version. What is the best OEM to go with? *im an att customer and i got this phone thru warrenty in may*

i haven't read through it but that should help.
Hey, long time reader, first time poster here. looking for some help.
Today, i broke the slide mechanism for my 8925, one of the hooks that connects the slide to the back of the screen broke. Has any one else had this problem and been able to fix it? I feel like this is the part i need to get but im not positive. it also does not look incredibly user serviceable, any suggestions on how to go about fixing this? i will post pictures later when i get a chance incase my description did not do the problem justice.
I took my cell phone apart and replaced the lcd. I then tried to put it back to gether and it was going good and then I spent 3 hrs trying to figure out how to attach the screen back. Can anyone please help!!!

Go to this site: http://mikechannon.net/
Forum member mikechannon has put together a great resource for any owner of an HTC phone.
Choose "Service Manuals" and download the Kaiser service manual .pdf
It has the complete teardown and rebuild (with pictures!).
Good luck!
theres an instructional video for taking it apart on this site
https://www.blackberry8100parts.com/ATT-Tilt-LCD-Screen-wDigitizer_p_35-70.html
watch it carefully or if u have video editing software like Premier or Vegas, just download and import the clip then play it backwards. it goes step by step i just replaced my screen the other day
I was able to figure it out and lost 3 of the screws for the keyboard to attach the screen anyone know where I can get three silver small screws
I was wondering how hard it is to actually perform a keyboard replacement. There is nothing wrong with the actual keys of my Tilt but the buttons underneath don't always register, particularly the "H" and the "E". I was looking over the replace pictures for the keyboard here:
http://www.mikechannon.net/PDF%20Manuals/Replacing%20the%20LCD%20on%20a%20Kaiser.pdf
Doesn't seem toooo bad. I build computers on the side and have most of the tools. Whats the actual part under the keypad I should be asking for? "Keyboard PCB"???? Anyone have a reputable place I can buy it from? Do I need to reload any CAB files after this install?
I figure since I am taking it apart I should replace the touch screen. Theres nothing wrong with the LCD itself as I have never dropped it (knocks on wood) its just the top mylar protective screen that a bit scratched up. What is that part called?
How many have replaced these parts? What the rate of bricking my Tilt after I attempt this? Do you regret doing it (even successfully) and wish you had just sent it in to a professional service shop and paid the dough to have it done?
