One thing I missed when I switched from stock was the suite of Sprint Apps like navigation, radio, etc. Is there anyplace I can get those programs back on my Android device now? I know Sprint has them for their own Android phones like the Hero.
+1 I would love to get my hands on these too.
i have sprint navigation on my phone, along with nfl, sprint TV aparently doesnt like our screen size
i got them from a hero rom dump

If I could just get Sprint TV working I'd be happy. Actually it wasn't even the TV part I liked, but rather the radio. Ah well. My contract is up soon so I should be able to upgrade to something beyond the Touch. Wonder if they'll make me change my contract with the Evo4G...

what plan are you on if your on an everything plan you should be able to keep it, if not its hard to say like the employee plans you need to call into customer service to have it activated
the other issue i had with sprint navigation is it works fine for Agps but i can never get the newest release to read actual gps signal

Awesome! Just downloaded it, yes it goes through the net (tried on my WiFi), and seems very good at recognising too
I've been using MusicID over my data connection for a year now. I've never been billed by AT&T.

I tried it way back when and I remember it saying it was a billed service so I chickened out. Does it prompt you or warn you or anything or just work? I have never seen AT&T give anything away for free...
Does the att music cab work on CDMA network?
I was wondering if anyone knew if the ATT music cab works on sprints version of the Raphael, (Touch Pro). Thanks in advance

The CABs floating around here do not display any kind of warning, they just work. But if you were to launch the version of MusicID that AT&T preloads, you do get a warning and also probably get billed.

I am attaching what I think is a newer touch-screen version of MusicID, which I got from a Samsung Epix. It works a little better on the Kaiser than the previous versions, I think. For example, when you Share a MusicID, and type in a phone number, the numbers are the right size and stay in the box where they should be viewed.
OH, and BTW, NATF, congratulations on your podcast: My 67 minutes of fame...

it's version 1.3.14.
When you click on Help Me Out then Subscription, it says there is a monthly subscription fee and to go to http://cingular-oac.qpass.com to cancel your subscription.
hmmmmm...
Anyone want to try it and go to the website and see if you got billed? Since it's a stock app on an AT&T phone, I'm betting it's not a free service.

I have used it extensively and have no extra charges on my official AT&T bill. I don't want to risk going to http://cingular-oac.qpass.com - it seems like a setup to pay for something that everyone else is using for free, including iPhone Shazam users.

You're safe to go to the website. It just tells you any purchases you made on your account in the past days, weeks, months, whatever range you choose.

Is it free?
I just updated my phone to NATF's v4.4 and launched the MUSICID app for the first time ever (I have only had my phone about a week), and it says it has 3 days left in a trial. I have read conflicting posts online... some people say its worked for them and never complained about trials, others say its a pay service after 3 days...
IS it free, or does it cost? If its free, is there any way to get rid of the notification that you have X number of days left? And what happens after those X number of days? Does it fail to launch again? Is there some registry key or something we can modify to keep it from timing out?
I know AT&T has the thing now where you can dial something like #43 and it will dial in to listen to the song and supposedly text you back, with a charge per each successful txt, but I like the way the app seems to function better of course, and its way more convenient.
So is the MUSIC ID free, or do I need to find another CAB to install it from?
Thanks!

ive been getting mxed reviews from people about this...i have the original data plan with it and my family has unlimited txts...is this going to cost me money?
They told me i had to purchase the all Unlimited Plan to use visual voicemail, so unfortunately i can't use it.
weird im on the unlimited data and 400 text plan and they said it wouldnt cost me anything?
ive never tryed hullomail but i tryed phonefusion and this app seems to be better....
*EDIT* i called t-mobile and checked and aparentley they removed my 400 text messages without telling me so they are switching it back for me.
wow what a **** moove by t-mobile....
you would think tmo would have this completely clear and understandable but instead thier customer support has failed once again leaving us confused...there is no reason this should not be free...
cool. i think i'll go with Google Voice though, it's free.
ok...just called tmo...rep had to "update" plan, which he said does nothing but add the vv service...no change in texts or data or $...whooo hooo!
APPARENTLY:
If you already have the unlimited everything package, it's just added on, but if you have the 24.99 a month package it is basically replacing your 400 texts a month.
The Android Data Plan apparently is either all-or-nothing with texts and so therefore I'm using Google Voice. kthxbai.

The customer service reps have had no training for the program since it was just released today. The new data plan is the android plan which will support the programs like this that add on stuff like visual voicemail.
call tmob !
I called they said sooner or later g1 plan is merging as android unlimited but u can call them and won't loose ur texts I still have unlimited texts on a family plan !

Yes just got off the phone with t-mobile and setup my visual voicemail =)
I spoke to a rep and changed the unlimited data for android data and had to pay $.09 for the change for some odd reason .. it was an hour ago I set it up sent me a voicemail but it didn't go to vv just regular
so I guess I gotta wait longer for it to kick in

well got it working service kicked in .. I can't compare to phonefusion vv since it didn't work with flex-pay but this does work with flex-pay. but it does the job ui seems clean and simple to use didn't have a problem not understanding the app
So i was wondering before i use or find either i was wondering if there will be a spike in my bill, well i have unlim data but,i know for a fact tmo doesnt offer telenav for the g1.Will i get a hidden fee or something i have hero_over 1.1r3 now w/cyan 1.4 mod. Also tmo changed the 3g here in ny so will either even work?
If you can teether and do whatever you like with the connection, I'm sure they aren't going to care about sprint nav/tv, unless it's a premium service?

Of course but for all they know your surfing porn.
Unlimited data is unlimited data......Unless it's unlimited data with a fair usage policy. Sprint TV will use (approximately) the same amount of data as the YouTube app, since that comes with the device I highly doubt it. Read the fine print.....

Yeah they will and they will throttle your account because of the fair use policy but it doesn't do anything...
I go over 10gb every month tethering my laptop (I like to watch porn on a bigger screen) and it never slows down...one of the TMO reps thought it was from Gtalk running all the time...
Didn't sprint shut down the tv for non sprint customers tho?
wait but wat about telenav(sprint)? Will that be a extra charge on my bill or will it stay the same since i have tmobile unlim data.
I use it every time I leave town, along with tethering and downloading crap to my phone every day. I assume your on the same android plan I'm on...unlimitwd data.

I have an iphone 3gs with data plan running on t mobile. i love phones and am bored sometimes i like to switch phones and play around with different OSes. I also have an iphone 3G i am selling to a friend perhaps for cash or perhaps for cash + a G1. should I get a G1? I wont be getting a G1 data plan as i still wanna use my iphone here and there and only pay $10 for its data.
so my question is, with a dataplan-less G1 just using wifi all the time, can it still notify me of mail and stuff? and other social networking aspects. is it worth using? im really interested in android and this would be a really cheap way of getting a G1

Apple Alert! Begin Hatred-OS
Anyways yes, you can still get everything over wifi- just delete the apns to ensure no ninja data
And the G1 kicks the iPhone off the Grand Canyon, where it drowns in the Colorado river and carried out to sea. There a school of fish eats it, only to be eaten by a shark. That shark is then eaten by a whale who is harpooned and sold for its blubber. The blubber is shipped to Taiwan where HTC employees eat it, and use that energy to make more Android phones. So, what we can take from this is that one iPhone brings from itself 20 android phones- which one wins
i am intrigued.. go on...

Yea, that'd be so awesome.
It's surprising as I said, more so now that I've had some time with the watch because it's actually pretty good. I get all day battery life, the watch does a decent job of keeping track of my gym time, I find the assistant useful since I mostly use it to set timers, alarms, various simple things play well on the watch that would have been an assistant search or activity on the phone. Lists, notes, recipes, all work well on the watch. An example would be grocery lists, it's nice to walk through the store while simply glancing at the watch instead of pulling the phone.
All similar to what I did with my previous smartwatches but it all works better here due to the combination of (more fluid) hardware pushing the GUI, AW 2.0, along with the rotating crown to quickly scroll. It's not a huge difference but for me it's pushed smartwatch use into a place where I put my watch on in the morning because I want to, not because I tell myself to use it. My day now includes getting schit done with it, before it really didn't.
Anyhow I hope you gents can pick one up soon. It's so dead here I've stopped checking to see if there was anything interesting to learn.

From what I understand, I do in order to use LTE. I can get it from Verizon or the Google store, neither have them in stock.
Nah, both Verizon and AT&T are bands 2,4, and 5 as is the watch sold on the Google store. Others are reporting it working, do a search to verify but I think your watch is a few clicks away.

That's what i was thinking too
So I ended up buying one from AT&T. When the Verizon rep scanned the IMEI it said invalid. From what I've heard you have to put a SIM in that's already activated for it to work. Some Verizon Reps will do it, some won't. I'll keep you posted as to what I end up doing. I'm happy with it, without LTE.
UPDATE: I put in my SIM out of my tablet, and everything is working as it should.
