I forgot to bring my phone to work today and i was thinking it would be good if i could gain access to my phones text messages and missed calls while not actually at my phone. I guess it would mean access my phone though the internet somehow. I cant find a app that will do that! can anyone point towards something that would help?
Cheers

Damn I had a p800 milleniums ago haha. Im not sure what you mean, do you want to pretend to be sending from another number or do u just want to be able to send txts through the internet connection on your phone?
well both really but you could put a name or a number say u could send it from your friend from POLICE or him self or his wfe saying hes ugly was a really cool prog

haha never heard of anything like that before but it sounds cool. do u remember what the prog was called wen u had the p800?
no sorry i dont i still have my p800 i can look see if its still on there but i doubt it
lol I had something similar on my PC... wish I still had this program.
Bluetooth
The only way I've ever known how to send message from someone else is through bluetooth hacking as far as over the net that would be awsome and if you figure it out let me know lol I could def freak some people out!
BT Spammer does this, but again its via bluetooth only(so u have to be nearby the potential victim)
With smartSMS I believe you can mask your number. In addition, there definitely used to be an application where you could enter any random number and send a sms thru data but I cannot for the life of me remember either. Finally, provider websites used to provide sms over the internet where you could enter any random "sender" number as long as the receiver's cell number was listed with that service provider.
edit: nvm smartsms doesn't do it but I know there used to be an app as well.
Am I the only one who finds this absolutely scary/horrible? I'm sure you're wanting this just to mess around with someone, but think of how mean this could be. You could send a message to a guy you hate from his wife's ex-boyfriend telling him how much he enjoyed her company the other night... you could send a message to your coworker from his boss telling him he's been fired and to clear out his desk...
I could see people's lives being ruined if they react to such a message in the heat of the moment.
I have recently just found out there is great life after death of the celluar providers.i recently been disappointed with my celluar service (sprint) and i now programed sipdroid (SIP Calls to any number) it works great. I now have a question and hope i get many answers and replies.
1. Can a wifi security be bypassed so i can connect anywere there is wifi signal?
2. Can my Device be set up to extend a search and recieve input of the wifi signal?
3.Most Craziest Question. Is there a way (APP) to use a signal from gps or Telphone sattelites to continue using wifi anywhere?
4. Can i switch out the custom sprint Call programming with SIP calling ? Im actually working on a rom with that option but i am having much difficulties.
5.Can is there a way to catch up the delay time im having with sipdroid calls?
Im basically looking for apps to help but if it requires programming i dont mind. I paid full price for my phone and very upset with the celluar company. im not looking for a sim card hack either basically because im running a Sprint HTC HERO CDMA with fresh toast 2.1 <rooted> Please Help If you have the answer to any of my question please number them. Thank You, Ryan C.

Yes and no. You'd need to dev some priority level into your connection, but it'd be hit and miss wrt whatever AP and the network that you'd happen to be using as to whether it would honor your priority request.
Can I please get more help and if possible websites and or apps to things that can be done on the questions please I'm trying to Get the help so I can advance. Thank you
Glad to hear you got the sipdroid thingie working. I did some searching and found the other guide I used to set it up so I don't have to go on GV website to place the outgoing call.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548405
Loddi-dah of course it was from this site hahaha. You'll see what I meant that it requires more but in the end, it works perfectly. One thing to keep in mind is that for the gv app on the phone there is an older unofficial app that isn't supported anymore BUT works just fine for our purpose imo.
HELP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548405 THIS THE GUIE I USED TO MAKE IT WORK YOU HAVE TO VERIFY through google voice your sipgate accout its easy all you do is log into sip droid and then go to google voice add the number for sip gate to your fowarding list then it will verify by calling your phone on sipdroid so make sure you have sipdroid set up for pboxes and it will call you and enter them numbers to succesfully add it the thing i like is googlevoice allows me to use a ohio number where i recieve incoming calls and outgoing call with the google number great set up thanks to grunt. by the way you dont have to have a invite for google voice just download GV through market register and do all the steps in the website above then go to google.com/voice log in and then add your sipgate number to fowarding then delete your cell number account make sure your cell phone does not have fowarding on. lol who says you have to have a invite when your slick.
But i am still looking for programs to better our wifi service an so far i been working on tryna find a code that can scramble security for all wifi im haven little luck and still trying to find out how to extend my wifi input for further distance i need help please if you know how or know something let me know thank you. i have noticed from a buddy that from gps you can use a sattelite but it is very difficult to do with out getting caught other sattelites to im not mentioning in i personally dont know how yet but best believe if i find out ima program something with it. but as far as that goes im still trying to progress with sipdroid and the wifi and once i do get everything to gether i will post a list of what is used.

That's what it sounds like to me too, one of the reasons I didn't reply to the thread initially. Stealing Encrypted Wifi = not cool. Unsecured wifi = cool, steal away. if the owner wasn't smart enough to encrypt it they deserve what they get.
You probably will have very little luck breaking any wifi signal with software on our phone. Hashing out passwords is labor intensive stuff, espeically if you are just brute forcing it.
WEP is the easiest form of the encrytion to break, and very few people use it. Actually the router that I just got doesn't even support it.
WPA has been broken, but I don't know how it works.
WPA2 - Good luck pal.
If you don't know anything about network security, breaking these encryptions is pretty difficult, especially with only one device available and only from outside the network.
Typically people who do break them will use 2 or 3 devices. 1 to Inject packets - another to try and decrypt the key.
This won't turn out well for you, people don't look kindly on this....netiher does law enforcement.

1. I was providing information
2. In the context it was taken(go back and read your post with clear thought), you were asking how to steal services
3. Not sure what you mean by "use all wifi signal" a/b/g our phones have covered, n or n(draft) not so much.

I can vouch for this one
Hello,
I'm going to be going to Canada and would like to know if there is any app out there that is gonna let me call people via a wifi connection. It would be too expensive to use even a calling card. I know Skype would probably do the trick but if there's something else that would be great (Skype's a bit of a battery killer).
Also, if anyone knows of any apps for texting that would be great as well. Google Voice is fine, but it send texts from the Google Voice number. And Whattheapp is fantastic but only for people who have it as well. I just need to be able to contact people who only use simple SMS.
Thank you guys!!
Can a mod move this to the Q&A section? I'll probably get more views that way. Thanks!
Maybe using Tikl, but that replies on the people you want to call also having it on their phones... Other than that, yeah, you'll need some sort of VoIP app/service.
Hey Devs I could really use your help in this matter. Here is the deal, I would like to find a way to be able to make free phone calls using my Captivate while deployed to Iraq/Kuwait. I will be leaving soon and would like some help with a "be all" solution. I use ATT but I don't think that really matters for what I am wanting to accomplish. I have searched all over the internet and I see a bunch of way to do this...in USA. I can't seem to find a way that will work in Iraq. I have tried to use a combo of Sipgate + Google Voice but I read somewhere that google voice only works in USA and the steps that are used appear to be for a past version of the phone app and i can't seem to get it to work correctly. I don't have a lot of time to try and figure this out because I leave very soon. If anybody knows of the steps needed to allow free cell phone calls over Wifi in the middle east, please help me out.
I know I can use Skype and that is the preferred way but that means that my all my friends and family will have to be defendant on a computer or a smart phone. I don't want that, I would like to be able to call any number on any phone over Wifi.

Skype can call mobile and land lines. You just need to have credit. I know its not free. But there really is no free way to make calls over wi-fi.
**Edit: at least not any good means.
Google Voice only really works to US *numbers*, but the free inbound you get from Sipgate One is a US number, so it works.
The only problem is latency and variable call quality, but if you're half a world away people should be understanding...
For apps I suggest Xinlu's Google Voice Callback and CSipSimple.
Ummm ive been to kuwait and the wifi over there is not good enough to be making calls on ur phone via wifi best bet is skype or other services and or just get a local sim card over there and make cell calls and also u should just use the free dsn lines they have over there.

Hi guys,
Unfortunately, the area i live in has incredibly bad signal for all networks and back with my HTC sensation i used to have a orange signal boost app which enabled me to use something called UNA to make and receive calls through my home WiFi.
Since moving to my lovely new One, I dont have this option. I havent even bothered to get on the phone to Orange as they prove to be useless every time.
After doing a bit of research and playing with my phone, I found out about the Internet Calls within settings but it needs account settings.
Like with the 3g settings, are there some generic orange settings someone would be able to tell me that will enable me to use this feature?
Any help would be greatly received!
Thanks,

The Internet Call feature is for those with accounts with the likes of sipgate. You can make free calls to other SIP numbers but will need to buy credit when dialing normal numbers.

Bugger! Thanks for the reply.
Doesnt look like its happening then!
Do you happen to know if the tmobile wifi calling apk is anywhere available. I've had a search and cant seem to find it. I ask as that seems to be available on the one and TMobile kinda the same as Orange as both owned by EE and I just thought id try a punt at the app also working on orange.

Is this what your referring to?
A quick Google search threw up lots of possible links.

Yeah that's the one, but sorry, i should have been a bit more specific, I meant the apk off a one as it seems to be shipped with the one tmobile branded versions so I figured I would have the best chance with that version.
I'm bumping this thread to see if there are any solutions for this a few months on. I also live in a poor area for reception with Orange / EE, but I do have a decent net connection and WiFi. To make matters worse, I get an equally poor signal at work and constantly have to move my phone around to pick up texts.
The EE website has the following information for those unfamiliar, but the feature isn't currently supported in any ROMs I have tried:
http://help.ee.co.uk/system/selfser...RTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=1187596&CUSTOM_BRAND=Orange
Despite this sounding like a fantastic feature, I can barely find any information on the forums or through Google.
