I had wipe and reinstall modaco's froyo update after I messed up during adb, trying to fix my market issue. My phone was in a boot cycle, but I was able to wipe and reflash the update. I have been using froyo for a few days with no problems. Just certain apps were not on the market.
Now after the wipe and reinstall, my news feed on the facebook app will not update. I have cleared data, and rebooted. Nothing helped. Profiles, messages, and photos work. Just does not update my news feed. I get "an error has occured fetching data [null]".
Any ideas?
The Market issue can be resolved by flashing another 2.1 ROM. When you sign back into Google after the flash, Market wakes back up. Luckily for me I was running Cyan 5053 and I upgraded to 5070. I've heard you can nandroid beforehand, wipe, flash new rom, sign in, download one app, wipe, flash old rom, nandroid restore and it should work. Like I said, flashing the upgrade woke it up for me.
Facebook.. I'm still having that issue.
Thanks for the reply, good to know I am not the only one. It must be a facebook or it is my account issue, because it is doing the same thing on my HTC Hero running 2.1. Getting the same null message.

I keep getting this error while trying to download anything from the Market.
"The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I'm running JH7 with SRE2b6 and this morning flashed the evo blackbar minimalistic v1.2 theme. I'm assuming the minimalistic theme is the culprit for this, although before JH7 I didn't have this problem while using it, though I themed that through Metamorph and this through stock recovery. Any ideas on how I can this fixed? Thanks!
I should also make note that I'm not able to access any of my images via the Gallery anymore... I tried flashing a different Minimalistic mod, tried using ROM Manager to fix permissions, all to no avail. Haven't seen anything else posted on here that I could try, hesitant to reload my Nandroid that is a couple days old :/
I've had this same error many times. Everytime I had to nandroid back to a backup weeks old as it only happened like every other month. For future reference all you need to do is nandroid backup complete wipe and restore.
I tried everything else and nothing worked including installing the rom on top of her over again, reinstalling the kernel etc. The only thing that worked for me was the above.
Clear app data?

Okay i have a sprint cdma hero i sm running 2.1 sense. I started out wanting froyo i knew i had to root so i did with universal androot and then got rom manager i didn't partition sd card because i thought it wasn't needed i still dont know if it is? but anyway after that i rooted the phone then went into rom manager, made a clockwork backup then I did what i was suposed to too root it then it was about to boot up and instead of froyo it was back to sense and had restored to factory. I repeated the same thing multiple times and tried different roms it still didn't work. After all this i restored my phone and its back to normal but google "can't establish sever connection" so mail, market, talk and all that does not work! I dont know what to do. I have tried hard reset, clearing data, cache, force stop, adding another account, signing out of talk and going back in and nothing has worked. and now in my notification bar it says sign in error! with my google name and then if i touch that it will bring me to a sign in screen, i enter the password but nothing works. I dont know what i should do help! by the way I live in america, internet works, phone calls work, sms works just not google apps, I have sprint to. And if there is any way you could help me root and run froyo the easitest way please help. I am kind of new at all this.
Thanks again- Luke
Did you make a nandroid backup? If so, restore the phone. I am pretty new to this too but maybe you can try to flash the google apps, you can find the zip on here with a search.
Did you do "wipe all data" before installing? You have to do that.
Make sure you also "nandroid" and make a backup in case you need to restore.
Ok put the cm6 rom on your sd and also google gaps .
make a nanidroid back up then wipe your phone then flash the rom then the google gaps. Then reboot
i did make a clockwork mod backup and restored my phone to that that is how it is the way know i will try and get google apps and reinstall them and if that works i will do the cm6 rom but where should i get it and do i need to partition sd card? thanks
I have not received a text for about 3 days. It started when my sister asked why I hadn't responded to hers. I figured it was just a hiccup on the network. I was able to send her a text fine and make and receive calls fine, but no texts come in. I'm running on CM6.1 and hadn't had any problems with it. I tried uninstalling recent applications, and I even did a factory wipe and re-install of my ROM and mods, as well as all of my apps and I'm still not having any luck. I haven't yet called Sprint, as I'm afraid that they won't know anything or will give me grief for using a non-stock software (perhaps they won't even know); or maybe I'll just stop into the store sometime soon.
Anyway, I've read a few things about this, such as people removing apps and it alleviating the problem. I figured it was just a space issue, like once the phone dips under a certain amount of on-board storage it doesn't download them. I had a similar problem where it wouldn't sync e-mails until I got 2.2 firmware and did App2SD. But my storage isn't really low enough for that to make sense. I tried re-installing the radio that I use to no avail... I just really can't figure this out.
If anyone could give me a leg up on this problem, I'd be really grateful.
Thanks,
Mike
What rom are you running? Is your prl up to date? Current is 60674. Nand, flash a Sense rom, send and receive a few texts, update your profile and prl, then nand restore back to your rom. People have had success with that.

I'm running the latest Cyanogenmod that is listed for my phone, which is 6.1.0, released about 2 weeks before I started experiencing the problem. I have the PRL file and have it on my SD card. Is there any way to do this without flashing to a different ROM?
I had the same problem. Downloaded Fresh ROM. Did a nandroid, flashed Fresh, updated prl, opened maps for a good GPS lock for safe measure, then just restored my nandroid of Cyanogen. Worked flawlessly, and took 20 minutes. Definately the best fix, and the nandroid restores everything to to the way it was, so it's no headache at all.
I'm downloading the stock RUU and I have Fresh downloaded. Nandroid keeps getting stuck on data... about to just go for it.
Don't flash the stock RUU or you'll have to re root.
Well that's not too hard. But what sucks is when Fresh Sense keeps crashing... then when you go to restore, you get an MD5 mismatch... Yeah, it won't restore my backup because it didn't complete and got stuck. Looks like I'm wiping and re-flashing CM6.... again.
Well, somehow I had a working backup from yesterday, the 24th, at some point. It won't be exactly where I left it... but it'll be close. Hopefully I got all the updates I needed via Fresh. Fingers crossed.
The way I got it to work was to flash a Sense ROM. As soon as the ROM loaded, all the texts came in. Also while on Sense, update your PRL.

I rooted this cappy, and flashed darky's rom. A week later, got Launcher Pro fc issue. Was just gonna uninstall and reinstall LP, no biggie. But then TiBu started fc. Then I flashed back to stock and flashed the rom again this time with wipe.. When the phone booted up, multiple fc issues. So, I installed Serendipity rom...Two days later, all fc issues returned, cannot call, text, anything. Help please! I am going to flash back to stock for now.
Are your fc from start, or are you restoring first? When you go to stock, are you doing s master clear?
No master clear, just wipe then flash with CWM. Ive done 5 cappys the exact same way, this one seems to not want to play well....
Are you restoring any system data with Tibu? If so don't do that. Only restore user apps.
That's the only idea I have right now, hope it helps.
I am not restoring system data, thanks for the help.
This was my first rom i flashed and i have never had problems with it. I ended up upgrading to S7 liked it but tried out mosaic 8 I lost all my market links so I tried every thing you can think of to get them back. I cleared the data, force stop and reboot, used the market doctor, wiped back to stock and nothing continued to work. Wiping back to stock mosaic worked untill i rebooted and it went back to nothing. This was so frustrating I decided to flash back to S6.4 because I never had problems with it. I flashed it and restored my apps with titanium and no market links. I reflashed it and individually downloaded each app and they were in my apps untill I rebooted my phone. Tried the exact same steps as with Mosaic and I got nothing.
bump, anyone?
Someone must have an idea for me
