I've been downloading a lot of different themes and even just the clock itself but none of them seem to have a real flip. They just tick like regular digital watches. Is there a flip clock that works on manila 2D (from Hyper Dragon IV IOLITE) that actually has a 3D flip when the minutes tick?
Hi!!!
not sure but i think that flip-clock is only for TFmanilla 3d...
But better to wait for someone elses response...
It's not possible to have flipping clocks in TF2D.
As far as i know currently only the TF3D got those animation effect
Thanks all! It took me some time to realise that Touchflo has a 2D and 3D form. I guess i just have to wait for a ported TF3D for the pretty clock.

TF3D has already been ported, have a search
The issue still stands with TF3D and standby due to drivers though but there are work arounds.
So I am moving here from Raphael Section and I have a doubt that I could not clear by searching through Rhodium and Topaz forums.
What is the difference between Manila 2.1 and Manila 2.5 or as HTC wants us to call it, HTC sense 2.1 and HTC sense 2.5?
Is the home screen weather (the one with full screen clouds, snow etc.. on a full screen layer) available in both?
Thanks
I'd also like to know this as I've used 2.5 and not overly keen on all the changes.
yes, both have weather animation on the home screen. 2.5 has more detailed animation but is slower, 2.1 animation runs a lot smoother i found.
thank you
I will try 2.1 first.
I think 2.5 might become more optimized once HD2 matures.
Anyways, last few days of reading has landed me with following list.
1) 2.5 has widget themed home screen. i.e. clock, calendar, shortcuts are made to look like widgets. However, they are not as configurable as Hero or SPB shell.
2) 2.5 is social networking centric with support for twitter, facebook, footprint, youtube uploading, etc.. 2.1 has just facebook integration.
3) 2.5 has landscape support for audio, gallery tabs which has cover flow inspired from iphone
4) HTC says that sense 2.5 has deep roots in the ROM and is not just a today's screen plugin. I cannot confirm this in cooked ROMs as i haven't got my Pure yet. But this is what HTC said in one of the HD2 previews.
5) 2.5 is designed for 1GHz processor and thus might be too much for our 528 Mhz processors.
6) If you are not a twitter user and don't quite use your phone for playing songs, go for 2.1. It will always be more stable than 2.5 on our phones. HTC designs it with our phone in mind.
I might be wrong with this list.... and it won't be the first time
Thanks.
Yea I've tested some various builds before starting to cook my own and I like the 2.1 version. It feels like normal Manila but with the animated homescreen which is a nice touch. Manila is MUCH better on a WVGA phone vs the Raphael's VGA screen (too cramped).
My favorite build was Dutty's and had a nice simple black background. I like things simple.
Manila isn't bad, but I HATE how EVERY part of the screen is clickable and takes you to an app; especially the HUGE clock. I always end up launching apps I don't want. I guess Titanium is the same way but it has a tendency to scroll before actually clicking, so there are less app launches.
That plus it adds like 60mb to a rom (wtf).

Doesn't work if you change the default wallpaper.

ah thank you
I take the above stated, to ask if the 2.5 Manila have weather fullscreen animation with other background that the default one. I didn't found ANY possibility of having personalized background's with the weather fullscreen animation in 2.1 - at all. Anyway, I guess that is supported by the 2.5 Manila version.
Can someone confirm this, please.

Yes, with manila 2.5 you can choose between 2 options:
Weather Wallpaper
Animated Wallpaper
The weather wallpaper lets you choose any wallpaper and the animated weather will work with it, in the whole screeen, bealtifull but slows the Topaz to a crawl.
The animated wallpaper just do a kind of glow bottom to top, behind the clock and links of the first screen, with whatever picture you choose.
Thanks for that info.
That's what I need - weather wallpaper in 2.1 Manila.
I'm so desperate....
guys, thanks for the summary

looking for sense 2.1 rom from desire z and desire hd.... any idea
i wanted to know if there is any way of removing the shortcuts from homepage of manila 2.5? or decreasing their no from 9 to 3? with some sort of registry setting or modified manila file...
Hi!
talking about this I wanna know how to raise the short cuts in Sense from only 3 to 8 (2x4) without loosing the clock or calender. Maybe the clock can be shrinked to realize that? 8 short cuts on home screen + 4 Sense Tabs should meet my needs. Is this possible via simple "reg edit" or maybe via simple tool? Looking forward for some replies...
Thanks much,
Future
Hello - I've searched far and low. It seems everyone except for myself love the huge clock. I hate it whether it flips or not. I don't even want a clock on my home page. Does anyone know of any app that can make this clock go away and give me more real estate on the home page?
Tried WAD2, but crashes too much. Infinity also crashes. Used SPB for about a year, but bored and hate the bottom icons.
Thanks for any direction...
Just swipe your finger up through the home screen, the flip clock will gone, replaced by a (much) smaller clock.
If you hate the bottom icons in Spb, you can try ShellExtension that can hide the bottom icons on the Spb, or the naong MobileSense that can replace the bottom bar with HTC Sense (in HTC Android devices, for example : HTC Hero), (HTC) Espresso, or Omnia
.
vtmorp i agree with you i flip the clock up i prefer the small one if only there is a setting to have it by default flipped up
flip clock
My old phone used sense 2.1 and the flip clock did flip up into a smaller clock. This one does not. Using sense 2.5 2012 so maybe that's it, but my last rom had sense 2.5 1911 and it also did not flip up into a smaller clock.
Oh well - back to spb with some tweaks. Thanks.
u can try use Maxmanila. It support the big clock, flip clock, digital clock, or no clock.
Many times if youre not satisfied with the big clock nor you wanna install a new clock by searching for cabs, why not revert to the Windows Default Screen??? Depending on what rom youre using....
Start/Settings/Today
Look for the Item tab, un-check HTC Sense or HTC Manila
Check Windows Default
And well.....heres a more simpler style too your phone, no more BIG CLOCK.
I guess just try different approachs......
You can use some of the tips/tricks/files in this thread (most will work on VGA phones) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589227
try
checkout the cookiemonster home tab mod, if you swipe up twice you remover everything but a tiny clock at the top and you can see your background
Yay - no more clock!
Thanks Overjjrk! The cab worked like a charm - the awful clock is gone. It is definitely a preference matter - I just don't get why I have the time in the upper bar and then this HUGE ugly flip clock taking up all that real estate.
I have a question and a request at the same time...Can someone make a weather clock like the one in sense 2.1 for TF3D ? I am using WM 6.1 stock rom, my carriers latest version - cause I dont wanna lose warranty - and I am constantly switching between TF3D - with all kinds of mods and a sense 2.1 vga build by kimi_sae_ireba. It looks nice, but it's slow as hell...I mean really slow, but i like it cause of the animated weather clock...sacrificing performance for looks...Is there a possibility to make a weather clock for TF3D ? even a non-animated version would be nice, but an animated one would be perfect...so...what do you think ? I was thinking maybe isolate one tab - home from sense 2.1 and moving it to TF3D...I have no idea about developing apps, so I'm just saying stupid thoughts
