Hey,guys. Is there any way to enter bootloader mode with a softkey broken or must I to repaire it!?
Yes, you can put anything metallic in hole of power button, about 1 cm depth, and then press it in mainboard direction, then D-pad and reset, as normal.
I can do a video of this if you can't do it.
Great aeroflyluby.

OH.I know that idea...But it's troublesome! The cover of the push plastic isn't broken though. So I have to open the back cover to do it.
Thanks for your kind suggestion aeroflyluby!Never mind.I'll use sundream 28230 on the rest of its life...
Also, if it work in normal mode (non bl), you can try Hima Clear Jumpcode, this should make that any restart of himalaya will enter into bootloader.
I also need to take black back cover out before entering, but IT IS possible to do that without removing it. But it is hard.
I will make a video today, and out it on youtube. Then I will send a link here.

hi all, Diamond newbie here. Any program to soft reset by pressing button on screen? I need to remove the back cover everytime to reset the device. Is there any better way? Thanks
Remove the back cover? Just take out ur stylus, put it an angle, and press the red button?
Put in angle? I did try few times. It is not easy to access. Just thinking of any software to do the job. Thanks anyway.
Hold down the power button and you are given the option to soft reset. IF the device has crashed and this doesn't work, then as said above, remove the stylus and hit the button there.
There is a little software somewhere on this forum called reset.cab that does exactly what you want.

Hi all,
I just migrated from Hermes to Tilt. I've upgraded to HardSPL 3.56 and installed the latest AT&T official rom for tilt. Everything seems to be working fine except for the soft reset or hard reset procedure.
In the manual it states to simply push the stylus in the reset button hole. For hard reset "hold down left and right soft keys and push stylus, then release stylus and wait till the confirmation msg appears then release soft keys, finally pressing send button for confirmation". None of these procedures work. I've tried it several times, but nothing happens, as if there is no button in the reset hole.
A friend of mine bought a tilt a few months back and he reports the same thing, though he is not the type who will play around with his phone so he doesn't bother with it. But to me this seems to be a big issue, I tried searching for this isue on AT&T forums but no succes. So now I ask here, is this a common issue with TILT? (I know HTC TytnII reset works fine). Is there a remedy for this problem? should I return it or should I just live with it ?
Thanks

assalam o alaikum shoaib:
no this is not a reported problem as the procedure is pretty striaght forward.
just simply insert stylus into the hole next to the chargin usb port on bottom of phone (not the small hole but the slightly bigger and round one on the top right side of charging port).
hard reset hold both soft keys and while holding them insert stylus into soft reset hole, maintain this position until you see the warning about hard reset and than proceed. Make sure you are not fat thumbing the keys i.e. not pressing two different keys (hitting the ie key while keeping the soft key pressed).
Hope this helps.

Well as i wrote in my initial post, I've tried the proper procedure, and believe me I was inserting in the right hole ! But nothing seems to happen. I can go into boot loader mode when the tilt is off by pressing the camera and power button, and releasing the power button while still holding the camera button but can't do anything with the reset button. Its working alright otherwise no hangups no nothing. Should I hold on to it or return it? btw Its secondhand not new !
Before you return it, is your stylus the original one? Maybe its an aftermarket stylus that is too fat to go in all the way. Try with a safety needle and see if that reaches it.
If not, i'd go ahead and return it, i've been through 4 kaisers and not had this issue.

Nope doesn't work. Stylus is small enough to go all the way in. I checked with a bright flash light and there is no black push button switch as all other devices have for a reset switch. Its all black plastic. Should I open the casing to check it ?
Hi
After too may flashing my "volumen down button is broken"
do you know if there is an utility to enter "bootloader or tricolor" from the device? I normaly use the sd-card methond for flashing and I don't use a PC
Thanks!
Note:
I have found "enterBl.exe" from Universal is this safe to use ?
The actual buttons are actually beneath the cover. The cover buttons press on them.
Or is it actually the real buttons that are broken?

the real button is broken :-( the litle metal is gone :-(
There is an enterbootloader.exe (or something like that) in HSPL package. This should get you to tricolor screen.

try to flash that rom again
try to hold two silver keys and push the power button till you see tricoloured screen or try pushing two silver keys and soft reset button with stylus which is located in a tiny hole just stylus sized on the back right side of the phone
i tried 2 silver buttone with the power button and the back hole.
but my screen still remain blanked.
totally nothing.. only a pulse of vibration.
is it possible to be in this stage? will a totally bricked x1 still able to get tri color?
i think u should charge your battery. and then put a kovsimg.nbh file on sd card.
after that install the rom by pressing the volume button down and power button.

you know those leds on the sides of the phone try charging the phone and see if they glow if they do then your screen may be broken or your flex cable has worn off i'll put my money on the flex cable if so then you should order a new one and replace it or take it to a service centre
Info about the way you've got to the trouble looks little... not clear.
i tried to hard reset but my "R" dont seems to be working..

How did you press space bar if "R" doesn't work?
Then... If you can get into bootloader mode, you can reflash any rom you like... you have hard-spl installed, have you?
You can use few different combinations to get into bootloader -"power"+"vol-down" OR "power"+"cam button". As you have vibration on the start, I assume your bootloader isn't broken, so you should be able to do these operations.
Charging should work as well, even if you don't see any sign of charging.

if you don't see SE logo on the start and backlight is turned on, if you don't see bootloader tricolor... looks really like it is flex (double check - I am not so advanced in hardware repairing).
Yes, leds should glow in that case.

Hi the x1 is able to start up already.
surprisingly, for its blank screen, im able to connect and sync on windows centre and load up hardspl.
after that i follow ur instruction on power+camera, it started showing tricolor and rom flash.
thanks for all the help guys.
THANKS!
my bad , sorry for wrong info
I just noticed my volume down button isn't working anymore. I don't use it very much, mostly just when I'm flashing a different rom. My first thought was "it's just a bug" so I tried using the registry editor to see if that would help but no luck (not 100% sure if correct but the registries matched what was posted). I watched a video on how to disassemble my phone and that seems to be my next step but I wanted to see if there were any other things I can try before going that far.
Any ideas?
Right now I'm on the intrinsicROM and I can't get into boot loader mode because of my volume down button so I cant just try a different rom. I read the intrinsic thread, I'm only one with this problem so I don't think it's the rom. It's just hard to believe it could be a hardware problem, could a button could go out that easily? and only down?
Thanks!
EDIT!!
I decided to take it apart, took out the flex volume button and it was easy to tell that was the problem. I ordered a flex volume button for 15 usd and now I'm waiting on the mail man. For anyone with the same problem, I watched the youtube video about replacing a cracked screen except you don't take the screen off or peel the circuit board off. All you need is the back cover off, then move some wires out of the way of the flex button, unplug the flex button, the flex button has a sticky backside so you have to separate the button from the phone using something really skinny and pull it out with some tweezers. That's how I got mine out but if someone knows a easier way fill free to share. Be careful with trying to take the flex button out, if you don't know for sure that's your problem, it can be easily damaged if being careless.
