Juniper VPN client available? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey all,
My names James, I am from Adelaide, Australia.
I was one of the unfortunate people to purchase a htc touch pro2, it has been a scarring experience.
I would love to go back on the htc bandwagon with the desire but I would love to know before I make my purchase if a juniper vpn client is available?
A number of networks I need access to provide external access only via juniper.
Thanks guys

Have you tried contacting them(juniper networks) maybe they have solution?

Can the HTC Tilt work on T-Mobile USA?

I have T-mobile and I really like the Tilt. If I were to able to get it unlocked will it work on T-Mobile's network?
If you you already have the HTC Tilt and using it on T-Mobile are there any conflicts?

Yes It works, I have not had any problems on T-mobile
You don't have any problems sending and receiving messages, or getting on the web?
How would I get it unlocked?
for the love of god please do NOT BUY A TILT!! can you not read all of the major threads in this forum? the htc tytn11 aka att tilt is a big pile of s***. If people keep buying this phone, htc will do nothing about the problems of this phone. get informed and buy a different phone please.
Mod Edit: Strike 1 for bad language.
Well I am sure the Tilt is not as bad as the Wing!!!

DUDE, calm down. . . some people wont use it for what we use it so the problem wont make it self that obvious. Geez. . . the tilt is the best pda out(just lacking drivers) and it is nice to use. . .

I think the tilt is a great phone, even if it isn't as great as it has potential to be. If something happened to mine today, I would buy another tomorrow. If you want a phone specifically for watching videos and taking pictures you could do better, but the tilt is one of best PDAs on the market right now (if not THE best).
HTC definately needs to come up with some drivers for us, but you have to admit, they still made one heck of a nice phone.
With my Tilt on T-Mobile I get all my services fine. I even use the 5.99 data plan for my internet on it. I reflashed to Dutty's 6.1, and when I hard reset, it asked me if I wanted to auto configure to T-Mobile's settings. Hit yes, viola, done.
Hey, all you haters out there: He probably already read the NUMEROUS threads about the driver issues. How could he miss them? Please let newbies make their own decisions on what devices they want to purchase. All he has to do is lurk, and he'll find more than enough information on the Tilt/Kaiser.
I have had no problems at all with my tilt and tmobile. Two ways to get it unlocked are to call att and ask them to unlock it for you, or what most people are now unlocking it themselves using jockyw2001 Kaiser Sim Unlocker. Here is the link:

Good luck do a lot of reading.

email routing issue + cannot download TM's w/ pics
Hi All ~~
It sounds like I may have found the right msg board! I am a T-Mobile customer using an unlocked AT&T phone with the original ROM (minus the bloatware). I currently have three msging accounts on the Tilt: test msging, a hotmail account and a work email account. I am having two annoying problems:
(1) I keep getting TMs saying that I have received an email on my work account; however I cannot (a) get the text msg notifications to turn off, nor (b) get the emails to actually pull down into the account. So: I know I have a work email (even who from), but cannot read it. Any thoughts on how to resolve either or both of these issues?
(2) I cannot receive or send pic text msgs. Really annoying; I am curious to see how other T-Mobile Tilt users have their settings arranged for this.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide ~~ Kim

Tilt on T-mob
Im in the same boat.. A little further down the river.. Here is what I did.. Bought a brand new Tilt of Craigslist for $300.. I did 3 things..
I used a service on Ebay that gave me the unlock code for my phone.. search TILT or HTC unlock on ebay.. Costs $13 and is well worth it to avoid the risk of flashing the phone.. ++ I don't know how valuable your time is but it was well worth $13 to me.. It takes a while of digging around in the forums and figuring things out before you feel comfortable with all of the procedures and language.. I think I saw my phone actually trembling with fear as I plugged her in for a flash.. Maybe that was me..
Getting the unlock code for your phone gets the tilt working right out of the gate.. Put in your Tmobile sim, enter the unlock code and voila!! The only thing you need to do now is change the network settings for T-mobile Data..
After getting the phone unlocked, I did finally get the Hard SPL to work.. After that I flashed Dutty's new 6.1 Rom.. Everything is working great.. Love this phone..

I love my tilt and I paid full price for it from ATT. There is nothing wrong with it. Its a phone not a laptop or server. It does what it was intended to do period.

So if I flash my tilt with dutty's 6.1 when i turn it on it will automatically ask me to configure T-mobiles settings for the data plan? The 5.99 data plan works with all the internet sites and programs. I've tried everything for it to work )=. Thanks in advance.

Yea, there are some roms that come with the settings configure app from HTC pre installed, if not just look in the cab data base down load it, then pop out then re pop your sim in turn it on and it will do it.

Yes, and no. When you have 6.1 on it, the first thing it asks is if you want to configure to T-Mobile's network. If you have the Data Plan, it will configure for it. It will be just the Data though. You still have to manually input the proxies to get the full internet. The settings are here, on post #4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357197&highlight=tilt+tmobile+internet
Everything is great so far about the Tilt, i only have 2 problems, I can either search the internet using the Tmobile Data setting, or i can get MMS messages using the T-Mobile MMS setting, however i cannot get both to work at the same time. If anyone has figured this out please let me know how you did it.
The other problem is just the short battery life i seem to be getting.

Call T-Mobile and ask for a OTA settings transfer. They are very lenient with unlocked phones. Just say its a WM6 Pda phone and they will send you the settings.

8925 Identity

Hi all this is my first post, great site btw
Anyways I have an ATT Tilt that I have flashed to the latest official HTC TyTn II Rom.
I just found out that ATT can charge me more if they know I'm using a pda phone, but since I have a cheaper MediaNet plan for non QWERTY phones it works fine.
I was wondering if there is a way to hide the Identity of the phone. To show up as a Sony Ericsson or something to ATT. So they couldnt see that it was a tilt.
Also Using the phone as a modem (tethering) is a big no-no on ATT. Was wondering if there is a way to mask that too.
I have read of very serious fees... up to $700 for tethering and connecting through the phones plan. I wish to know all information if anyone has any knowledge into this subject please tell me all you know.
Your attempts sound a bit to far away from the legal path if you ask me! Your IMEI number is already enough to identify what kind of handset you have, further every server can easily determine what kind of device is knocking while analyzing the referrer information.
If you are unhappy with the data plan politics of AT&T then you should consider a provider change! I am with T-Mobile for over 8 years now, tried twice AT%T but their hidden fees and sneaky contract terms and conditions made me cancel both times!

Travel to USA

Hey All,
I will be travelling to The USA soon and i would like to take my TD2 with me to save me bringing my Laptop.
Just wondering if any one could point me in the right direction to obtaining a prepaid sim-card from a US Carrier, data allowance is a must.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] Importing HD7 to Aus

Guys
If I buy a HD7 of ebay that has been imported into aus .. will I have any problems?
particularly thinking about live services/market place/zune issues
Cheers
I imported 2 and they work fine...
Hi Cameron,
I imported 2 HD7's for myself and my missus. They work fine, the guy I purchased them from unlocked them so we could use them with any sim. (not developer unlocked - not sure of the correct terminology). We use a virgin sim.
Hey let me know if you'd want me to get one for you, I was thinking of getting a few and putting em up on eBay myself.
Seems to be heaps of Aussie apps out there, but would be good when the market place grows. No probs with the Marketplace but have only downloaded free stuff so far. Live services all seem to work as far as I can see and only Zune issues are me getting used to it syncing etc.
I do wish there were some decent Aussie GPS navigation apps, that is one thing I am waiting for big time as GPS was a deciding factor in me getting a new phone.
Anything you'd like to know just send me a pm.
Cheers
Thanks for the reply .. i've got one on order already .. cant wait
You will be happy with it, i was very happy with mine.
Enjoy!
I don't think it will work on Telstra NextG but if your not with Tls then all is OK.
I should be fine as I'm vodafone!!

[Q] Htc Location For HTC One

Hello Everyone,
First I would like to apologize for my English because it is not very good
Few years ago, I bought a license for An Europe map for the app HTC location (for my Desire HD).
I bought a HTC One the next week and i wanted to use my license with HTC location.
I did not find this application on my new phone !
I opened a case to HTC support and ROUTE66 support, and both said me that i must buy another OFFLINE GPS APPS.... because this app can't be install on this phone...
My question is, is it possible to install this app on the HTC One ? My phone is branded (Bouygues Telecom) and not rooted with Bouygues Telecom ROM.
PS : I don't want to use Google maps because it's an ONLINE GPS APP.
Thank you very much for your answers.
Best regards,
Dalto.
As far as I know without rooting you won't be able to install an unsupported app, if you rooted it then you could possibly tweak it to work but there would probably be easier ways to get it then
If i root my phone, how install this app ?
No idea for my question ?
Since HTC Locations uses Route 66 I wonder if there is a way to transfer licenses so that you can just install the Route 66 app and use your transferred HTC map licenses. May be worth an email to both to ask. I'm in the same situation as you so will make the same request.

Hi,
I opened a Service request to ROUTE66.
You could find below the answer :
Hello Mr. XX,
Thank you for your reminder. We do our best to answer in no more than 48 hours. At the moment we can assist you in English or we will use the translation tool, because support in other languages is not currently available. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
Indeed, we have also released an application compatible with Android devices, it is called ROUTE 66 Maps + Navigation. However, HTC Locations and ROUTE 66 Maps + Navigation are two distinct navigation products, each with its own navigation content and different map provider. Therefore the transfer of license is not supported.
The best what we can do is either transfer your Locations license to another HTC model running with Location app or to offer you, in appreciations of your commitment to ROUTE 66 products, a 25% discount when purchasing a new ROUTE 66 product.
The 25% discount applies to the existing ROUTE 66 customers upon receipt of the proof of purchase of a previous ROUTE 66 product. The 25% discount can be provided only when ordering via e-mail using the bank transfer method, not by accessing the online store.
Please send the following details to receive instructions on how to order a discounted license:
I. Proof of purchase of the previous ROUTE 66 Product.
II. The IMEI number / Device ID number on which the previous ROUTE 66 product was activated.
III. The new ROUTE 66 product and license you wish to purchase at the 25% discounted price.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
ROUTE 66 Support Team
