Help needed ,X1 hang up calls - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i have problem with X1 ... About a week ago my phone hang up all outgoing calls after 12sec ...Upcoming call are longer but also hang up after 1min 30 sec
I tried everything, flashing up official rom, then putting some cooked ,i changed radio from 1.14 to 1.16 ,hard reset couple times ,the same thing every time...
I left the phone at service in my country ,they don't know what is a problem??? Strange...
I'm thinking ,maybe, you people know something to help me? Is it a chance for those problems are caused by flex cable? Everything working good on the phone...
Thank you everybody!

I to have this very SAME problem with my Xperia X1. I got to make a call to ANY1 and it just hangs up/ends call, on full reception/signal, and even with texts it says something like "Message not sent". I am looking to sell my Xperia X1 now, but REALLY need to fix this problem, and as the above user "Emrax" has already tried to "flash roms" and all those other things, I would say we both REALLY need an alternative and successful solution. Thanks

I to have this problem. What is causing this? My phone symptoms are similar to what is described here
Whenever I try to make a call, it sometimes takes the 2 or 3 attempts until it connects. Sometimes I can't hear the other person speaking either. Sometimes when I'm in a call, it hangs up too.
Whenever someone calls me, I can't hear the other people but they seem to hear me.
What is causing this?
I usually get 4 to 5 bars so reception is pretty good.

没问题! :) what ROM did you have before? does your new ROM solve the problem?
I think the problem relates to the phone changing from H, G or 3G and constantly looking for a better signal therefore hanging up during or before a call.
In the phone menu, I've set my band on GSM and GSM (900+1800)...
Seems to be ok for me so far although I have upgrade to the 1.16 radio using the 1.14 .dll file with it.

So the general solution to this problem seems to be upgrading the "Radio version" then? How do you go abour that, because I know how to upgrade or change "Roms", but not familiar wid "Radio"'s.

you can flash radio roms same as other roms

Aight then, thanks Draken Korin, but I don't even think my problem is as simply to fix as flashing a radio rom. NEED to try it though.

I've flashed the 1.16 radio and my problem has not been solved, but I'm glad others have had their's solved.

do you have the 1.14 .dll cab installed too? Do a search for 1.14 radio and install the 1.14 .dll cab.

Downloaded the "1.14.25.55" Radio zip folder but it does not contain the "1.14 dll cab", and I can't seem to find it anywhere on the development or general forums, althought I remember it being talked about before. Would I have to have the above "1.14" radio version installed for this "dll cab" thing?

radio and ril are separate and can be combined differently (though I wouldn't try a newer ril with an older radio, no sense in that)
just check my sig for it, gl

Well thanks, but what's "sig" though, and do you think this will solve my no calling or texting problem?

you were looking for the rilphone.dll 1.14.*, which is available via link in my signature
personally I don't think it will solve your problem, but it's worth a shot and I don't have a better idea right now

Aight then, thanks for the help and I'll try that.

New Radio 1.13.00

The BA_DT_WWE_DutchRetail_14000_556_11300 has a new radio 1.13
I have converted this to a TYPE I file.
I have updated wiki with that info
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.13_Upgrade
It has been tested (that is to say the flash works)
Have fun.
Seems like the GPRS "cannot connect" Problem has been fixed in this stack.
Cant manually reproduce the problem like i used to be able to, so time will tell, but so far so good
problems with no hearing the caller
Is the problem "no hearing the caller" solved with this radio radio 1.13? I can't solve this problem. Can anyone help me?

Only time can tell, and it's to early to say yet.
Just upgrade to 1.13 radio.
Let's see.....
MDAIII,
Good job with the instructions which makes it very easy to upgrade. Works better than 1.12 radio. Wish the bluetooth would not give the "insufficient memory" error.
Thanks.
Updated to 1.13
Update works fine.
GPRS Problem seems to be gone. (Works here by now)
SMS works fine (1.12 gave me a little problem here)
Bluetooth works fine (Fast on/off)
Nothing to mourn ATM
No negatives yet here. Haven't encountered the 'no sound' issue yet. I haven't noticed any improvements, though.
I'm glad to hear about the GPRS. Has anyone tested the WiFi feature and how long it takes to connect to activestync? I have notices that my BA, after upgradeing to the new Shipped Asia ROM, takes a really long time to connect to activestync (about 1min.) compared to older radios. Which took at the most 5 seconds to make a handshare.
Will This work on a SX66?
hakushox, it will. Follow the instructions MDAIIIUser has laid out on wiki.
when i just tried it says its not designed for my phone
Then you didn't follow the instructions properly.
You can always use maUpgrade_noID.exe
sprite backup after upgrade??
hi all,
if i upgrade my radio and after the hard reset, i restore with sprite backup, will it downgrade the radio as well?
please reply urgently! i cant resist the temptation to upgrade!
will doing a Radio update only make me have to reinstall all my programs and settings....if so, is there an easy way around this.....
Doing a radio update WILL make you have to do a hard reset. You will get errors when you try to restore your backup using sprite. You will have to re-install your applications after a radio update. Thats why i;m waiting till my questions have been answered before I upgrade since I just upgraded the ROM last week.

I tried that on the TypeI Radio, diddent work. I diddent try it on the TypeII though but it should work.

Well I did the nasty thing and used Sprite Backup to restore, wanted to try since this was only a Radio upgrade.
Works perfectly until now.
But to really test this new Radio, one should not use any Restore functions.
Okay, so only time will tell whether this new Radio ROM will fix the known echo issues during bluetooth carkit telephone conversations...
It's been like a day now, I assume peeps who upgraded yet would have made several phonecalls by now... hehe
So... wots the verdict?.. :?
Edit: Nevermind, f*ck the verdict. I've gone in, full throttle. I'll let you know the outcome, going for a ride right now.
Hi,
well I have tried, still Echo :-(
I use Radio 1.13 now.
I have echo when only using the MDA and
I have echo when using a Lintech Bluetooth adapter in my Nokia Cark-91.
The first can't be a Bluetooth problem, the second one is a bluetooth problem, even after stack BT-3900.
So I think it's a great device, but as a phone it realy sucks.
I think the bluetooth is the biggest problem.
Hope it can be fixed soon.
Regards,
Max
Just HAVE a bluetooth insufficient memory error.
GPRS seems okay so far.
No caller hearing problem.

hey xeno,
seeing that you are senior member, i have some questions for you.
how do you like 2.69 rom? here is my situation that i am running into with my 2.19 radio rom.
i cannot receive signal in my house but as soon as i walk outside, it get 4 bars but it takes awhile to recover. i tried 2.40 before but during a call, i could not switch over with call waiting and sometimes, when i call my voicemail, i could not hang up. so, i went back to 2.19. 2 days ago, i installed 2.61 but i don't get any better signal strength than 2.19. but with 2.61, i am experiencing the same problem of not being able to hangup during a call or navigating through my voicemail box. it seems as though it doesn't recognize any button inputs or touch screen inputs.
i bought a longer lasting battery for my MDA so power drain is no issue. the main issue is reception which i will trade off with battery life.
my question to you is are you happy with 2.69 with regard to reception and recovery of lost signal?
maybe i should try 2.69...can you point me to the download?
i am running SPL 2.17/IPL 2.17 on Faria's Crossbow
thanks in advance.
-Mike
2.69 isn't bad, but I liked 2.47 a lot better. Unfortunately 2.47 has problems with 2.47. I know that there were people working on solving the problems with most of the radio versions not working with WM6 but I haven't checked those threads in a while to see if anyones has solved it or not. I know they were getting somewhere when it came to the cingular netwrok working with them but I have t-mobile so that won't help me much.
I'm not sure where the 2.69 rom is off hand and don't feel like searching for it at the moment so I'll just upload it for you. Try out 2.47 first though and see if it works well for you. The navigation problem problem through your inbox might not be a radio problem, there are a few roms that have problems with DTMS which sends the tones over an already connected call. Theres quite a few threads on here about that problem, just search DTMS and you should be able to find something on ways to solve that problem.

I've had 2.47 radio on a G3 ever since i flashed molki's 2.26 OS and have successfully used along with WM6 (since day one). Signal has always been strong even inside my house that is covered by a hill.
The only issue i'm experiencing is with TheEquinoxe's reTouched ROM and BT that pairs devices but they can't 'see' the phone but can't say if the radio is to be blamed for this.
i've searched for DTMS but the search pulled up nothing under Wizard except for this thread. any ideas??

Maybe it's just the .318 WM6 versions that have been having that problem then. Using any other radio versions with it other than 2.19 or 2.69 causes you to have a lot of missed calls.
m3m3, I'll have to do a little searching and see if I can find those threads for you. It's been a while since I've seen them.
Well, I figured out part of your search problem, it's DTMF not DTMS. Sorry about that.
Looks like reinstalling your phone dialer pad should fix the problem. The only other solutions I came across all involved doing a hard reset.
lol...thats fine man. after i installed 2.69 radio rom, i missed a buttload of calls especially from my wife which wasn't too good. had to go back to 2.19 radio. hopefully, someone can program a good radio rom that doesn't miss calls and increases reception otherwise, I will have to migrate to the iphone and to cingular (att)....

Radio Rom 2.71.11

Been using it on my wizard. good battery, great signal... don't seem to have any missed calls with Octavio's 6.0
It really is a much improved radio! Before, when I was out and about, somewhere between 10 and 20 feet inside the doors of Walmart and Costco, I would lose signal. Now I can go anywhere within those two metal-clad warehouses and never lose signal...even receiving and making calls within!
Needless to say, I'm very pleased.
missed calls have shown up...
Hi,
After installing the radio rom 2.71.11 on my phone (K-Jam with TNT 1921 rom) missed calls have shown up In one day I missed 3 (out of 8) calls. Additionally my phone locked up (just freezed!) while I was trying to make a call.. So, I switched back to 2.69.11
Cheers,
Orhan
I have been using it from the last two days and no missed calls and great signal.
Same here...no missed calls...been using it over a week now.
works great so far, no miss calls.
Been on my phone for weeks and I have better signal, About the same battery life.
Works Great
I had microphone and speaker voice scrambling and noise issues with older Radios apart 2.19 and 2.25 but this is even better
Thanks
testing it now...I'll let ya know...
*edit* I'm not finding any better reception...will continue to test though...
I had this for weeks now and I have no problems at all too.
The signal icon doesn't update
I have the Black Diamond 3.1 rom on my T-mobile MDA, updated from
a 2.25.xx radio verison to 2.71.11 and now my signal icon doesn't update. its stuck on whatever signal i have upon startup. I thought at first i was getting great signal everywhere, then my calls started dropping with 5 bars and i restarted and it showed 1 bar instead.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else using the 2.71.11 radio with the Black Diamond 3.1 rom?
Hi,
That is a nice version.
How can I install this ROM and do I loose all my settings when installing it?
Many Thanks
been using it for a week.... upgraded from 2.69.11.
seems stable and has better strength, but cannot confirm if it has absolute improvement over 2.69.11 until further testing.

Hi,
Do I have to put ActiveSync in Guest Mode before running the Radio ROM reflash or can I leave the ActiveSync Partnership intact?
Thanks.
Everyone is hoping and praying that there is a new radio that combines the stability and great battery life of radio 2.19 with better reception like 2.61. 2.71.11 might be it, but its soo new its hard to tell right now.

Vikasmestry, but since it doesn't work out for you here's a good alternative:
http://rapidshare.com/files/84722422/T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radio_Only.zip.html
Its the T-Mobile UK 2.19 Radio I spoke about. This is considered one of the most stable (no missed calls) with great battery life and a good signal. Its being used by all versions of the Wizard and in nearly all countries by someone. So don't let the T-Mobile and UK description bother you.
Download, unzip and run the ROMUpdateUtility.
I've been using this radio for a week now, seems OK. I think the signal strength is a little better then 2.69 and the power consumption is about the same. No missed calls, but the missed call radio tweak is still installed in my wizard.

GSM not working but 3G works

Hey. Today is not my day
My phone wont work with GSM anymore, it works well with 3G but when it tries to connect to a GSM network it just dies :/ i have no clue what it could be. It was working well yesterday, i have tried to do a hard reset but still wont work. any ideas? Thanks.
Sorry for bad english!
by the way, there is a strange sound in the speaker when it tries to connect to a GSM network.
and it doesnt die if i have it on charge.
has you have set the telefonsettings to gsm network or to automatic?
My phone also needs the manual setting to GSM.

On automatic it sets on 3G becurse i got 3G here, and if it losts the 3G connection and tries to connect to GSM it dies. ( thats how i found out about this problem on the way too school this morning. )
in my network i observe problems with connects to GSM: Sometime i lost the GSM connection/signal, where my Wizard has a safty connection.
It can be a standard Problem with the current Radio ROM
I think about change the radio ROM. pse look to Diamond ROM development to find a instruktion. the ".25.05" should be the best Radio Rom with a better energy performence and better Signals. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956
BUT i have not change in this time, while i test my Battery performance after a reducing of background software/applications.

die completly = shut down/swith of the Diamond?
This i not have obervate.
If you follow the instructions, the Radio update is out of problems. If you will get the old radio version, so you can get it back with the original provider update of ROM.
for german Vodafone there is a download by vodafone.de under "technischer Support". i think the most providers has a update download. Look to your provider, if there be a ROM update.

before you look for a new Radio, make a reset or a hard reset. My be, that it "repair" your problem.
By my WIZARD i has update the Radio.
I think, that the radio ROMs for the Diamond are also standards (how by the WIZARD) without differences.

Phone Call disconnects without valid reasons...

Hi guys,
I''m new to this forum and I'm also new to HTC Diamond. However I found great guidance to "upgrade" my MDA Compact IV to HTCs original patched rom (1.93.407.1 GER) and had a radio update to 1.00.25.05, but after upgrading to these versions with Hard SPL oni 1.30, my phone is experience problems with phone calls. Whenver I'm at a phone call either I my HTC looses signal so that I cannot hear my counter part or It simply disconnects. I'm pretty annoyed with this and I dont know what to do.
Would appreciate answer on If some one is experiencing simliar problems or on a guideline to how to "cure" my phone.
Thank you!
And btw I'm also having this problem where I cannot hear the caller nor can the caller hear me the first 2-3 secs. Is this due to my upgrade? Or is It a radio prob or maybe the rom itself?
i would suggest changing the Radio... although i havent heard of problems with this radio version before (i am using it too)
Thanks for the reply mugglesquop. Neither have I heard of anything bad regarding this version, but I'm a bit worried. Can It be also a hardware defect? And If you would suggest me to switch to another radio, which version would It be? If I perform an upgrade of radio I will need to re-install rom as well. Is this true?
