Add yourself to your phone/Google contacts list with the phone number you're using.

i already do with a picture and my phone facebook twitter and same
I suppose if you go in menu --> setup --> telephone information --> status --> my phone number
you will see this field BLANK.
this is the problem
the solution is 2 steps.
First step - set your telephone number.
extract your sim-card from the nexus and insert it in another phone (like blackberry or some old sony).
Then navigate to sim-setup and in this section you have the possibility to edit your telephone number. (nexus does not allow this operation, this is why you can solve only using another phone)
Second step - create a contact with your name and your telephone number
easy from "contacts". Add your personal image.
then you'll see your personal image on sms
try and let me know
SOLVED

Hi,
I was wondering, if it is possible to save two mobile/ cell numbers under one contact, so when you are typing his/ her name in the new message page, both of them show up as options.
Thanks!
I don't think this is possible in Windows Mobile messaging.
--
Add recipient let's you pick the number though.
Ugh!
Crap...i know a lot of people who have two cell phones..primarily different cell numbers for different countries when they are travelling..i wish there was a way to store two cell numbers under one contact
yep most my contacts have 2 mobiles as well. some have 4 or more. I store em under the other fields like car, work2 etc etc. I guess we just have to work with what we have.
I think WM does not smart than Symbian in this. every cell phone or work phone or home phone number can use to send message
Umm
Right, I guess. But when you are typing an SMS, and you write a person's name in Windows mobile, by default only his cell phone number shows up. All other numbers, you need to go into the contact, copy the number and then paste it in your messaging window and then send it...unless there's a better way..(which I have no clue about!)...
Inesoft Address Book allows you to enter as many numbers for one contact as you want. Every number can have any label.
Awesome!
Thanks! I'll check it out!

instead of typing the name at once. hit enter. you'll be given your whole contact list. now start typing the name. select it and you will be given the option to select from all the numbers in the contact's card. so basically you just add 1 step to the process.
wow
i never knew we could do that! Thank you! Beats installing additional software!

When I use the smartdail function and a contact that has multiple numbers, I can only choose whitch number to call the first time by click right on the D pad.
The second time I want to call that contact there is only the redial choice and no option to select the second number.
Why it doesn't show the contact any more so I can choose whitch number to call?
On my Tytn II and Wizard this works flawless!!!
I think this behaviour has changed in the latest ROMs (2.03).

No not with me, still I can select one number from a contact and after calling there is only the last called number present. When I want to select the second I have to use icontacts for example to switch.
It's strange. I have updated to 2.03, and now the following info appears when I look for a contact:
- last called number entry
- quickdial contact entry (if exists)
- full info contact entry
Can anoybody else check it?
Hi all,
I bought the Touch Diamond2, and have noticed this really annoying problem.
I have a list of contacts (that their names were modified in Outlook 2007, and then transferred to my phone), that whenever they call I can see their number but not the name associated to them (above the number it displays: "(unknown number)"). If I choose to add the number to their name (which is already there - it just asks me to update it), then their name appears if they call. After I add it, it seems like the same exact number - no change at all.
Another thing is, if I enter a number manually that is already stored in my contacts, it doesn't show the name of this contact. If I select the number from my contact page, it does show the name and picture as it should.
Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there a setting in the device i'm missing?
Please help,
Thanks
Hello!
I also have the same problem, because of the indicative of the country, already send an email for the HTC, to try to decide the problem. I am waiting a reply of them.

Hello everyone
is there a way to show the bithdays oft phone/sim contacts?
With the standard android (JB) application it is only shown for goog contacts...
thanks in advance
Choose your contact then hit the edit button , scroll to the bottom of the screen and hit "Add another field"
Choose Events then add the birthday there.
Simples...
Hit thanks if it helped
I don't know if you tried it unser cm10.1 , but I doesn't work...
when I extract the contacts and add a birthdate manually, then reimport and reexport, I can see that that the date is stocked with the name. so it's rather an issue in how contacts are displayed. (and it's shown for go contacts...)
is there
- another contact applicaton that can show it?
- another way (account?) to store contacts?
thanks

So no I don't use CM10
Sorry
isn't the CM 10.1 Android (4.2.2) contact application the same than the one from stock ROMs?
no one else encountered this Problem??
Have you tried an alternative such as this:

5. Speed dial: press on keys call someone.
6. IP Dial:Chinese area IP dial supported.

Why till now HTC still have this issue that contact won't recognise if you just dial the number instead of the full format you save on your contacts. On Samsung and iPhone don't have this issue. Can HTC solve this?
Please refer to the attached picture for more details.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Mine works fine, whatever format I type the numbers or the name. Slightly confused.

OK.. Example, i saved a contact under phone TEST - +601234567890 , So when i went into phone dialing, i enter 1234567890 the number without country code, it won't recognize or display contact TEST, unless i have to enter +601234567890 full format as what i have saved then it will show.

it works for me eg my contact is saved a +312012345678 and when I dial 02012345 it will show my contact, as far as I know this has worked since my desire days. HTC dialer has always been the best for me, being able to search by first, last name and by number in short and long format (iirc the sgs2 couldn't search by last name)...
(edit, I don't know where you are from but is 12345678 a valid number to dial from a mobile phone, we always have to dial an area code first)

I am from Malaysia. The number on the screenshot are just example. Our country code are +6 , so my number format are +601112333345. I just tested it again and also not working. Another number format are friends from Brunei, number format +673 8888888 as +673 country code. Also not showing if i key 8888888, unless 6738888888.
