[Q] Windows Update: HTC Bootloader? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry guys, but I couldn't find this anywhere. I ran windows update today, and in addition to showing an update for my nvidia card, it shows "Google Inc - Other Hardware - HTC Bootloader" at 1.8mbs. Does anyone know what this is?

Anyone? I've searched Google and whatnot looking for anyone that has had this pop up, but have had no luck.

Well since no one answered I downloaded it. When I clicked install it said failed, and the error said that devices needed to be connected that the update applied to. My nexus one was connected, so I turned it off and put it in bootloader mode, clicked install, and it worked. I have no idea what the update was though.

[Q] Kindle Fire Unknown Device FFF Loop

Hey guys. I have been coming to these forums for a bit over a year now just reading posts and decided to make an account to get help with a problem I am having. I got a Kindle Fire almost a year ago and I rooted it successfully as soon as I got it. I installed FFF and TWRP to it and an ICS version loaded to it. However recently I tried to update the KF to the Jellybean version as well as update my TWRP version. Well, long story short, I got it stuck in the FFF fastboot.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem since I could just use the KFU to set the bboot back to normal, however the Kindle is also listed as an Unknown Device in my device manager and it says all the drivers are up to date. I tried manually overriding this by going into the device manager -> updating driver software -> and selecting from a list on my pc, however I either get an error saying there is no compatible file (which it is the sdk google usb driver downloaded for this exact reason so I know it should work) or I am getting the message saying windows thinks my driver is already up to date. I can't use the command prompt or adb to even locate the device. I am getting frustrated and need help. Thanks!

You say you have FFF installed, right? What version...better yet...what does the boot logo look like? A yellow triangle?

I just fixed it after many, many hours of work. I found a solution by bootloading a usb stick of ubuntu and using firekit to reset it into normal boot where KFU couldn't. That guy who wrote the program and article is a savior. Here's the link for anyone else who has this same problem and thanks for the help! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038

[Q] Software update failed

Hey all,
I just got a notification on PC companion that a new update was available. "Jolly good!" I thought, and without hesitation, I clicked "update". Alas, that turned out to be a bad idea. My PC gave me an error: " An error has occurred and the phone / tablet software update was aborted. Click retry to restart the phone / tablet software.". I clicked retry, followed the steps presented to me, but got the same exact result on the second and the third try. When I try to start my phone now, it says "software update failed, please connect to you computer" or something of the sorts. Has anyone run into the same issue? And if so, have you managed to fix it?
The phone is a Dutch T-mobile branded version.
edit: I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't properly searched around, and thus I didn't know the update service existed. Currently, I'm trying to replicate the success this post spawned. Will report back with results.
update: no luck yet. The update service has been stuck on this position for about 20 minutes now. Not good. Any ideas?
2nd update: failure. I get this screen. Again, any ideas?
3rd update: When I plug the phone into a wall charger, it goes into a loop of completely off -> red led -> sony logo -> "software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again." -> repeat. This means I'm probably just discharging it at the moment. I have no idea what the current battery level is, because it wont start to a single screen showing it. I cant be sure it's above 50% like this.
Thank you in advance.

I get the same issue when i tried to update OTA to the .593 O2 UK branded firmware. I am rooted though (but still locked bootloader) so just assumed that was the problem but perhaps not.
Anyone any ideas?
Try with Sony update service.

Use flashtool and flash your phone, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2464389

It turned out to be a driver problem; fixed by using another computer. For some more details, see this thread.

4.3 update keeps failing to install

Hey all, I recently got T-Mobile HTC One and on Monday 21st October, 2013 I tried to get the update. I went into the Software Update and clicked Check Now it prompted to download the update. I have downloaded this update at 7 times already and all 7 times it has failed with the end result being that Red Exclamation in the red triangle. This will stay on for a bit and then the phone will reboot. I did all that is required, not running anything and turning off the Power Save feature. Anyone get this and have any suggestion, it will be appreciated.
You're fully stock?
If yes, try to contact T-Mob, another guy had this issue and he solved calling T-Mob
Fully stock. The phone is out of the US right now and again updating through WiFi.
HTC knows about the T-Mobile problem. They just put up the 4.3 update RUU on the htcdev website for the T-Mobile folks having troubles with the update.. Go and get it from there and install it.
*S¡gned
Thanks, was just reading over at Android Central that it is out so I will go get it.
Been trying to download the RUU to no avail. Has anyone uploaded it anywhere since and can some one point me to a link.
Thanks
Ok ended up getting it. Took about 3 hours to download for whatever reason; probably high traffic. Got it installed though it hung the first time.

Android Phone No Drivers Found

I have a rooted HTC One, though the root checker says it is not currently rooted.
I am trying to get my phone back to factory settings.
When I tried to attach the phone to the computer I get error messages that say that there are not any drivers. There is another message that says that there is not Hardware ID detected.
I cant seem to find any fix when I google this. I hope I can get some direction here to fix this.
I am not a developer, just an guy who likes to play with my toys.
I have tried the basics, removing the HTC software and re installing.
I tried turning the usb debugging off and back on several times.
Thanks

We have no way of knowing what you have done to the phone already to make it invisible to windows ... can you describe what you have already done to the phone with links to the files you used.
no hardware id
I used the instructions from the following web site of QBKING77 (I could not put the link in here because I am too new, just google "QBKING77 root htc one"
Per his instructions I used the file attached and I also loaded TWRP 2.6
I have attached the file I used.

Problem with HTC drivers

Hi.
Yesterday I bought a HTC ONE.
It's quite diferent to root and unblock than my previous Galaxy S3.
I've found the All In One Kit that seems to be quite easy to use and user friendly.
However I'm facing strange issues with the drivers...
I just installed the latest HTCDRIVERS.EXE and as soon as I plug the HTC on my laptop, my windows tries to install the driver (with USB debugging ON) but without sucess!
More strange is that, a few seconds after a windows pops up showing "HTC ONE" and asking if I want to open files, see photos and so on...
So, what am I doing wrong since everytime I try to use the ALL IN ONE KIT to get a token ID that will lead to unlock bootloader, I get a "DEVICE NOT FOUND" message?
Please help me...

To get the token ID you need to be in fastboot mode, not booted in Android.

uninstall your current drivers and try these they work flawless for me
http://www.mediafire.com/download/j55vk6qbbr6250c/HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe
MD5: e2a21d71954d4164c1a116abb926a363
and don't rely totally on the toolkit for everything
use the included adb / fastboot files yourself and get familiar with them it may save your butt later
It looks like that the real problem is that ADB sees my HTC as offline!
I can't figure out how can I sort this out...
