Something like that, you mean? I think it's much too early to expect such a product on the market, especially for a phone that's had little to no demand for a product like this. However, I'd imagine that you could grab one of these (not necessarily for the iphone), and see if there's an app or something like that for another android phone, and see what you can work out.
Just google voice up.it give an additional working number to your phone as long as u live in the state

Thank you to all you!, I just want to use my other sim card (with data) with my phone in the same place.
Best regards
I'm also looking for a dual sim adapter for Captivate.
Besides that, does anybody know if the Captivate can handle 2 simcards ?
Tks

Now that its been 6 months since these posts, has anyone tried and had luck with the dual sim in the captivate?
I used to run two ATT sim cards in my Treo and that worked fine for me.
I carry a ATT and a Tmobile phone now and want to give this a shot.
I have an unlocked Captivate running Darky 9.5 and have tried both my sim cards in it.
The Captivate works fine other than the issue with logging in to my google account, it seems to forget the password when switching sim cards? There isnt a lot of recent info about it on xda but apparently that is an android issue when switching between carriers for some reason?
And I havent tried data on the Tmobile sim, isnt there some changes I will need to make in my access points?
I know simone has a card they say will work but their prices seem excessive and most posts regarding them were *****ing about their customer service.
I plan on buying a magicsim or the likes from ebay to give it a shot.
Does anyone have any insight on this they can share?

you will need to set up the different apns for the 2. It should work as long as you are not trying to run both sims at the same time.
just found one for 3.50 no shipping on ebay.CA

The APN seems to reset itself. I activated data on the T-Mobile sim today and when placed in the phone it works just fine. The only issue seems to be the Google log in password is lost for some reason. And my phone shows T-mobile as E (Edge?) only on the top bar. But I can surf and download just fine.
The kicker will be if it still works after inserted into the Dual Sim adapter.

Cool glad it works. Yeah it will only show E as it will not work on T-mobiles 3G network, the reason it is losing the password is that you are connecting to it by a diff network. Remember ATT locks certin things from the market.

What about flashing a new radio/modem to get the T-mobile 3G to work? Is that a possibility or is it more of a hardware issue?
I am running UGKC1 right now so obviously that one wont work but maybe on of the others?

No it is a hardware thing. The antenna is not set up for the band they use. Alot of the reason some are upset if the att/T-Mobile merger goes through, att said they would need new phones lol
nice to know. i ordered one of the 3$ ones just for the heck of it. my extended battery cover has plenty of room in that area for almost any of the adapters out there.
ebay "dual sim adapter" make sure to get a full- size to full-size adapter or you will have to cut up your old one to fit. they also have mini to big and big to mini and mini to mini. I phone4s take mini sims

So I am home from work now and dug out my old dual sim. Its a magicsim 20th-A and it doesn't work. I realize its 3 years old now but thought I would give it a shot. The package says 2008 just like one of those on the review link I posted earlier. So take that into consideration. I sent a bunch of PMs to people who had posted about this same subject on the I9000 forum so maybe one of them will reply to help us out.
edit: After looking at the one on extremedeals again, the picture is exactly the same as the one i already had. i am going to look around for a newer version. they are up to 28th now. although it seems the 26th version might also work?
learned something!!!
the adapter i bought is GSM. gsm only covers upto 2g
3g is now part of the WCDMA group.
oh well thats why i bought a 3$ one! to learn!
That is kinda funny. I have been looking for a 26th edition at least but I am not having much luck in the US. From my research i think the 26th edition will work. There are 2 28th editions on eBay but they are in Australia. And the shipping is almost as much as the adapter. +$25 Or so.
I also think an iphone4 version would have to work, but the trick would be fitting it and also the main slot is a micro similar size. I am still looking.

I can't believe how difficult this is going to be. It looks like eBay, the source of all my goodies, has very little to offer as far as current edition dual sim adapters. I spent a bunch of time searching over the weekend and cant find a US supplier.
I may have to bite the bullet and order a $90 version from Simore. although I have procrastinated long enough that they now have a new adapter, the Infinite, v8. apparently that is better than silver, gold, and Platinum. LOL.
I have read lots of unhappy reviews about Simore but they seem to have a new technology with a more flexible adapter plate.
I just wish there was more information here on xda about happy users. I did a bunch of searching and sent some replies and PMs but got no replies.
more info
I found a bunch of good information on the German amazon.de website.
It appears most users are happy with the newer adapters. Some are using them on the I9000. My concern is if they have the same type of high speed networks over there as we have here. Its a bit hard to follow the Google translations but its worth the effort I think.
But apparently they are only selling them in Germany as I cant find a corresponding item on the US site.
So I am still searching.

is this possible for my kaiser? my carrier(fido) is rolling out an unlimited data plan for $7 but it is locked to fido or rogers imei only so is there any way that i can clone teh imei with another fido phone? if so i can just any fido/rogers phone or does it have to be a windows mobile phone.
If you'd done a search you'd quickly have discovered that we don't post links to IMEI cloning on XDA developers - mainly because it's probably illegal where you are.
So, if you stole the phone then give it back - if you didn't then buy a rogers/fido sim and tell them the IMEI of the phone you're using it on, and if that fails then sell the phone and buy one of theirs.
???? I'm confused. Who's Roger?
I do know that cloning can have undesirable side effects...

I want to do this too... I have a Rogers phone, that I bought from them... Motorola L7. I want this new data plan, but they'll charge me per kb based on my IMEI.
so you're talking about changing the IMEI of the kaiser. There are solutions to other HTC phones but not the Kaiser (at least for now). I do know for sure that your provide can do it, HTC can do it, and *some others* (I dont know who)
send me a private message when (and if) you figure it out... I am also with fido and am expecting my kaiser in the mail any day now.
When I had ATT I was able to convince them to change the IMEI of my treo to that of a RaZR so I could get a cheaper data plan. I had to forfeit the warranty on the phone though, and a month later it stopped working correctly, so beware.
Cloning the imei is not enough....you have to clone your sim card also.
From what I've been reading, it's next to impossible with sim cards thats less than 5 years old.
I haven't been checking up on this in a while so there may be some new data out there.
For me, this will be great. Sometimes, I have to put my TILT in harms way. If I had a clone, I could just turn my TILT off and fire up my clone that I don't care about and be good. Let's take it to the next step...I 'm going out and I don't want to carry my TILT, I have a cloned Startrek which is sleek, light and Windows Mobile...I got all my goodies in a small package.
Keep this thread alive, personally...I'm interested in cloning my own unit!!!!!!!!

Um, thats what I do by taking my sim card out of my tilt and putting it in my startrk...not exactly a huge deal...
I dont seem to understand the point behind cloning a IMEI, Its just a serial number for your device. if you can or have another person who has ROGERS or ATT ...whatever device you can ask them for the IMEI then change the last 4 numbers to random ones so they do not match and then update it with a customer service rep over the phone, this would be only if your carrier works around simcards. Places like verizon and such would be hard to do because they register the device itself, other than that, thats it. I know the ATT network very well and this is all you would need to do in order to trick the system into giving you a PDA data plan package compared to a normal phone data plan and vise versa. They have a stupid billing system.

Imagine not having to take out the sim card.....both are totally independent.
Basically, you turn one off & the other one and go about your business.
I went thru the moving sim card back & forth and it sucked.
To take your move your sim card, you don't need to clone your imei.
I think most of you doesn't understand what the OP meant.
Here in Canada, Fido (one of the provider) is going to roll out an unlimited mobile browsing plan, but the catch is, it only work with the Fido branded (IMEI recognized as being a Fido phone by the network).
OP were thinking of somehow clone the IMEI of a Fido branded phone (his/her second phone) in his Kaiser, thus allows the kaiser to have unlimited mobile browser since the system sees it as another phone.
It doesn't mean that we want to clone a stolen phone or something.
Also Fido charges ridiculous amount of $ for a PDA type phone to browse. Imagine paying $10/month and you only get 12mb/month (data package option)
that's on top of the regular voice package.
or how about $60/month and only get 25mb of data? (on top of voice plan)
It's just too expensive, when other places only charge way less than that and get the unlimited data.

well, since that violates not only USA, EU, and Canadian law, I don't think too many here will help you with that. Regardless of whether the phone is legit or not, changing the IMEI of a phone is illegal, so I doubt anyone in this forum is going to help you with that, especially since we would like to keep this site running. Thanks.

Seems it wouldn't work anyway. Apparently data routed thru non-Rogers apps will be charged per kb, regardless if you're using a proper IMEI or not.

I don't think it's illegal to "discuss" IMEI modification. In fact, there are two threads under General Dicussion for this (one of them has the tool to change IMEI for older phone).
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but could someone explain to me why it is illegal to change the imei. To me, if you buy a product for your own personal use, you should be able to do whatever you want with your personal property.

Use the analogy of your driver's license. Its yours (I think), but if you modify it or make a fake one and start flashing it around (just as how the IMEI identifies the device to the carrier).. well, you see where this leads to..

Easy you can do everything with your car but when you drive on a public road you must use your license plate belongs to this car other wise you have a problem.
I am extremely frustrated and fed up with ATT customer service on the phone and in the stores. I talked to 3 different persons and none was able to setup my phone for data neither HSPA nor LTE. The BS that I have to listen to is incredible and I am close to terminating my contract. I am pretty sure the issue is that the IMEI of my phone doesn't get recognized by the system and I asked them to change it to an ATT one but they don't do it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I remember having to do this when I purchased my Nexus 5; this is solved by simply "borrowing" the IMEI of one of the LTE smartphones in the showroom at the store. If there is a ATT Moto X 2014, even better. Just go to that phone's setting and take a photo of the IMEI, then go to the desk and give them that number. It will be recognized and you will be set.
No need to worry about borrowing the IMEI from another phone, it is just to look up the specs for their system. I haven't tested it myself with a Moto X though as I still have a Nexus 5 but you should have no trouble.
Found a fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got my Pure Edition yesterday and wasn't able to get any AT&T data plan either, even after a half hour talk with customer support. Then I found a help article on the AT&T site for setting up unlocked phones. You have to set up a new access point. I can't post links, and one of the settings is a url, so I can't post that either. Google "Programming non-AT&T devices with the correct APN and MMS data settings" and hopefully it will work. If someone who can post links could post on to the article, that would be awesome!
Here is the standard ATT Phone apn

In my case I had to do more. I had to generate the new APN and I had to use an IMEI from an old LTE AT&T phone that I just still had. The problem was the switch to the new nanoSim in combiantion with the IMEI of my MotoX. Now everything is fine.
I'm hoping that I can take the SIM card out of my old Moto X and put it into the new 2014 moto X no strings Attached......*hoping*
Fixed.

I can say that I had this problem as well. Voice but no data. Added the custom APN, and that got me 4G, but no LTE. Apparently, ATT does not recognize this phone's IMEI as a LTE capable phone. Had to give them the IMEI off my HTC One M7, code it as LTE, reboot my phone twice, and then it came up as 4GLTE. Just FYI.

That could explain why my data signal has been terrible. Sadly, I don't have a previous ATT phone.
Yep, I ended up creating a new APN and gave them my nexus 5 IMEI for LTE to connect. Not sure why the nexus 5 works since they don't sell that phone either...
Think moto needs to hand over all the IMEI for AT&Ts database... :/

I got a friends imei and registered it. I switched back to the original APN and am getting a better signal and speeds with the nxtgenphone APN.
AT&T now aware of the problem and working on solution. Switching IMEI number is not the long term solution.
There is a case number and we should all get LTE within a few days. Unfortunately, it is the weekend so will take longer for them to approve the Pure Edition (showing as Moto Victara in AT&T system) as non LTE.

Getting 4G is easy by manually setting APN. The hard part is getting LTE without giving them a different IMEI.

Yes, getting data was easy. Yet ATT support had no idea how to even get me data. They passed me up to tier 2 support while I was in the store with them and then told me to leave with the new phone and wait a few hours because it should fix itself. Thankfully, I found people mentioning the APN change to get the hspa+ and was able to get that temporarily as I've been with Verizon and Sprint in the past I didn't know about this offhand. My initial ticket for ATT to even get me data on my new service plan was set to be resolved in 5 days. If something as simple as that had that long of a time frame, I wouldn't count on a quick turn around for this issue.
Odd, I have not had any issues with the stock APN. I switch phones so often I can't even tell you what provisions they have me on at this point but data has worked fine on every phone I have had without changing anything on the phone or AT&T's end. I have been on a Nano sim for a long time though, I just used Sim adapters when I have non-nano slots. They set everything up on a new one for the iPhone 6 plus though, maybe its compatible?
I simply swapped the SIM from my old Moto X to my new Pure Edition Moto X on AT&T and everything works fine... Not sure why you guys are having issues.
Guys..
His issue is that ATT is using the imei from the pure edition moto x.
Since ATT doesn't really do byod (not an ATT branded device) he doesn't get lte.
So the AT&T Note 4 is locked down pretty good. Is the T-Mobile version the best version to get to use on AT&T for somebody who wants root? It looks like it has all of the HSPA and LTE bands, so it should work perfectly. Are any of the international versions better options than the T-Mobile version?
Or is T-Mobile the best one for AT&T? Thanks.
Tmo note 4 works great on AT&T. I buy all my phones from Tmo to use on AT&T.

How do you buy them? Can you just walk into a T-Mobile store and buy one even with no T-Mobile account?

From another thread in q&a:
I bought the phone. It was a bit of a process but easy. You have to have a service plan for them to sell you one. So I signed up for the phone and the cheapest plan they would get me. Then went home and called Tmobile customer care and paid the balance of the phone off. Then went to cellunlocker and got an unlock code. Then for the next day or so I used it on AT&T to make sure it had no problems. Then I called up Tmobile and canceled my plan with them.

I have both AT&T and t mobile note 4. If you want root, you already know what you have to do. The only issue I have ran into is my t mobile version shows up as a blackberry on AT&T network. Took multiple calls to get LTE working correctly. They had to switch my number to a tri band (there verbage not mine) to properly get LTE, even though it still shows up as a RIM device. The fastest LTE I've had in my area is 32mbs with a iPhone next to me getting 64mbs, but also that's not comparing apples to apples (pun intended). But the iPhone also had a stronger radio inside compared to samsung.

Hey Sandman7793, if you dont mind, could you please explain how exactly you got AT&T to make the changes in order for you to get LTE working on your Tmobile Note 4? I mean did you have to speak to multiple reps on the same phone call? Reason I ask is becuase I had a Tmobile Note 3 and was only getting HSPA using AT&T and when I called they gave me a hard time saying that I couldnt get LTE becuase I was using an unlocked device. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Well the trick was I bought the AT&T version of the note 4 before I bought the t-mobile one. So when I called I had my sim card in the AT&T one when I called. Lol. I have my spare note 4 in the drawer just lying around. When I called they was like, do you have a blackberry, I said no, do people actually use those anymore. Since I have my note on the next program they was like OK no problem. Then they said, is your phone for AT&T network, I said it better be because I bought it from you. Then I rebooted the phone so they could hear the AT&T boot up sound. They had me put in a new APN setting, still no LTE (on the AT&T phone at that) so they escalated the case over to someone else and changed a bunch of settings on there end. Then said maybe they had LTE issues in my area, I said nope I have a iPhone sitting next to me with full LTE. By the time I hung up, the AT&T note 4 had zero LTE and the t-mobile had full LTE, which still till this day I have no clue how that worked out. It still shows a blackberry on my account, but here was my speed earlier so it don't matter to me what the show.

Did you have a chance to test speeds in your area with both phones connected to both carriers? I am going through a dilemma right now as to which carrier I should choose to go with.

ok fair enough. I am seeing hits and misses with speedtests on both. Hard to decide right now.
i"m using the T-Mobile Note 4 on AT&T and getting great performance. NO issues with anything, yet lol. Love running custom roms.
yes it is, Mine is on Tmobile( white) unlocked and it is rooted and i'm using it on ATT(sim card from work) i get full speed LTE and one of samsung best yet. other variants are not that great
T-Mobile Note 4 still shows as Blackberry

I went to change my data plan today, finally giving up Unlimited because it was $50 cheaper to go Mobile Share route. In the process I noticed my new TM Note 4 showed up as a Blackberry 7100 and during the online plan change it wouldn't let me do it saying something about an incompatible phone. I reloaded the Sim back in my Note 2, called CS, had then change the plan and of course it now shows a "Smartphone" for my Note 2.
So, I suppose as soon as I change me SIM back to the Note 4 it'll send them the IMEI and change the phone designation back to Blackberry, thusly kicking me off LTE.
Can other enlighten me as what steps to take when/if that happens? Since it's a Note 2, not Note 4, I can't take the approach quite the same as the OP.
What to do? Anyone?

Mine shows as a blackberry also, but after they activated tri-band on my account for my line, all is good with full service.
AT&T used to have two places to store imei. One is dynamic and shows device that is currently on their network and the other is somewhere permanently in the database and is imei used to register account. Second (permanent) one determines whether you get LTE. It was like that year ago when I parted with post paid plans. May be they changed it since. So you must make them replace the permanent db imei to get LTE. Best way to do it is to call them with valid AT&T LTE capable device imei and tell them that it's what you use now.

My AT&T account shows a flip phone for my TMO Note 4! LOL! Everything is fine and working though so I dont care.
I run my T-Mobile Note 4 on "Cricket Wireless" which uses AT&T towers w/ a reduced cost (based on your needs of course).. Data, ect...
Very pleased & things work 100%!
I even figured out how to 'edit' build.prop per the "Root & Recovery" thread to give me official "cricket" initial confirmation readout in status upon waking phone along with AT&T tower indicators as opposed to T-Mobile's!
I bet Hotspot will not work on ATT when you use T-mobile phone.
I bet Wifi calling will not work on ATT network too.

Hotspot works great. Actually It works even better, becuase ATT can't track the usage on a Tmobile phone so even without root or doing anything special the wifi hotspot works right out of the box.

So here's my question. I'm considering the OnePlus 3T. I ordered the OnePlus 3 from Amazon to give it a test drive (and have since returned it). I noticed that most of the I was getting H speed on ATT.
Every other phone I've got (Moto X Pure) and Axon 7 (as well as my prior Nexus 6p) was regularly getting 4G or LTE in the same locations.
I'm assuming it's reasonable to assume this is a OnePlus issue.
Has anyone who has the 3T (or considering it) has a similar problem? Thanks.
I assume you're in the US? You might've gotten a phone built for another market, such as China. Also, your APN settings might've been wrong... I'm getting mostly 4G/4G+ on my 3T, which I believe is LTE on OxygenOS. I may swing by my local AT&T store to verify my SIM is a-okay.
Most of the resellers on Amazon/eBay buy devices from the Chinese market which, for the most part, have bands that are unsupported by US carriers. If you buy the correct model for the US, you should get good signal on ATT.

False. Read the T-Mobile LTE thread. The issue is software based. It's affecting everyone.
I'm having no false read issues here in Seattle Region on T-Mobile. I also had someone attempt an AT&T SIM as well, no problems. It may have something to do with the "General Fixes" mentioned for 3.5.3.
I've got my OP3T on AT&T and on OxygenOS, it never shows an LTE icon. However, using LTE Discovery, it states I'm on LTE. I even get LTE B30 (2300 WCS) at work while my OP2 could barely keep a cellular connection. B30 is an LTE band that AT&T rolled out a year ago. Only a handful of phones support it, including the OP3 and OP3T.
EDIT: I'm seeing performance equal to or better than my previous phone.
Most importantly I don't have a good baseline to compare to so take this as an extra small grain of salt.
I thought things were fine but upon further investigation my speeds will not keep steady over 10mbs down. I haven't tried changing the apn or anything to correct it yet but according based on others I'm thinking it's software related and can hopefully be sorted out. I'm not giving up on it, for the cost, features, and quality of everything else I'm going to try some things.
I should mention I'm not in a city and my particular area hasn't always had the best speeds.
Using OP3T on AT&T
Never owning a OPO device I wondered about this too when I got my OP3T. I didn't know if this device had to show LTE to get LTE.
I didn't have any issues with data speeds but after reading about other people questioning this on the forums I decided to look into it. I downloaded an app and it showed my device was getting LTE even though it didn't say it up top (it shows 4G). I forgot what band it said I was getting. I didn't call AT&T at any time either.
*The speed test is from indoors and I wouldn't be surprised if I can get way better speeds out and about.

That thread refers to an issue that has been determined to be T-Mobile specific, likely to do with carrier aggregation and/or band 12 exclusively. AT&T does not use band 12, and CA works perfectly on AT&T including, as another poster mentioned below, band 30 which only is supported on a few phones.

The current version of OOS on the 3T doesn't use the "LTE" label, it uses 4G to denote LTE, and 4G+ for LTE CA.

If you read the T-Mobile threads (one here and one on OnePlus forum) , then you'll see that the T-Mobile issue is only a T-Mobile issue. I'm in that thread just to double-check that the fix they made for the T-Mobile problem didn't screw up anything on other carriers and it didn't. It's not affecting everyone, but it was affecting some T-Mobile users, not ATT.
Also, a lot of people seem more upset by symbology (which icon LTE, 4G, 4G+, etc) is used than their actual speeds. I'm not seeing what difference that makes unless you'd rather have a certain icon than speed. No doubt that's a simple fix or even an xposed type of fix.
Oh yeah: I should've also mentioned that I'm an att 3t user with LTE speeds about double that of my prior phone, a galaxy (a current one). I'm in a fringe area but getting ~20Mbps down, 5-15 up. My "icon" constantly is switching from 4g to 4g+.

Huh? It's not affecting ATT users in the USA.
I can confirm it is affecting AT&T users as well - there have been many reported instances on this site, on the OnePlus forums, on Reddit, and on other sites of not being able to get LTE on AT&T. Last week, I chatted with AT&T tech support and they told me the issue is on their end with the network. They need to add the IMEI ranges for our OP3Ts to their database. They told me that they should have the problem fixed by December 5th (today); so far it doesn't seem fixed yet but I'm going to keep waiting another day or two before I contact them again.

Yes, but you can actually reply in complete sentences so I have to take you more seriously . ;
I somehow managed to post that before I'd really typed anything (which might have been a good idea damnit!). Anyway: I think that some of us (almost regardless of carrier) have just popped in our known good SIM cards and then had trouble free service , and fast speeds. It's possible that if I had went over to ATT and gotten a new SIM, that I'd be in some hellhole range of people that are having problems, but isn't that a carrier based problem?
Anyway, thanks.

Exactly. There are two different issues. The T-Mobile band 12/CA issue, which OnePlus is addressing via a software update of some sort, and the AT&T provisioning issue, which AT&T needs to address. Consensus is that if you use an already LTE provisioned SIM card you'll be fine; if you need a new SIM card and give them your OnePlus IMEI, you will not be provisioned with LTE. This is the same issue that the original OnePlus (and many other non AT&T unlocked phones) had, there is a very lengthy thread on this subject over at the OP3 forum.
Also, with regards to 4G not getting LTE speeds...the "4G" and "4G+" icons on 3.5.3 on the 3T are LTE.

i second this. i too had to change my sim card from micro to nano and after that is where i lost my LTE i believe. On att i only get H speeds, though i am a bit bothered for lack of highspeeds the reception service on my OP3T is excellent, i almost always have near full bars.
I read somewhere that after the 5th (today) ATT will correct some of the provisions for the OP3T, so im waiting till tomorrow to call them again to complain about the issue, if it doesn't correct itself.

Yes it's a shame, so we have one t-mobile user with no luck, anyone with att try it yet? Or possibly another person with t mobile, just to repeat the experiment for consistency?
I am willing to switch to AT&T - in fact, would prefer to have my iPhone on one carrier, and my Android on another - but the support response doesn't make me hopeful.

You could bring it to att store, ask them to put a sim in see if it works with their store account, if it works gget the prepaid and switch over. They got a 65 plan that is 50 after u get auto pay. 22 gig high speed unlimited.
Maybe try, if they say no or doesn't work return it. I figure the phone specs are worth the attempt

VoLTE works on the Chinese rom. I'm guessing next update will fix it in global rom (especially because a lot of folks are complaining about this). Wifi calling doesn't require any special hardware, so I'm guessing that's a possibility down the line if enough folks complain.
Phone nails all the basics (camera, screen, battery, performance), hopefully they add volte and wifi calling in the near future. Very close to perfection!

So barring any miracles or super secret work arounds, I'm out and back to square one. The Razer 2 has also been on my mind, but mostly because of the price ($350 at Best Buy) and it's still an LCD screen. If only LG would release something like the V20, but with updated specs. I'd take that even over the ROG II.

The LCD on the Razer is pretty darned good. I the phone overall is pretty solid. The drawbacks for me are mic when using speakerphone is wonky (introduced with MR0 update) and no aptX or LDAC. I use speakerphone a lot and most of my audio stuff is aptX HD or LDAC so gonna sell the Razer Phone 2 and evidently keep looking.
One plus 7t released, maybe you should get that loos pretty awesome no crappy pop up camera,, 855 plus t mobile will be selling it, 90hz display little less battery but slimmer I'm gonna prob get the McLaren edition the one that is still rumored lol

It's technically the carriers that disable it. It works fine on carriers in other countries using the same exact ROM image. The US carriers require payment to enable/test/certify those features and North American sales volume likely doesn't justify it for Asus' North American division.

I used to work with carriers more than a decade ago. I had hoped this attitude would change. It's easy enough to isolate and block a rogue device - the concern back then. Also still baffling why Asus would disable - why not enable, and if the carrier lets it by, that's on the carrier, not Asus.

I tried this. Google Voice let's you choose between using your phone app to make calls or using a data connection. The data connection option sounds better.
This is incorrect !!! ATT is also going to HD Audio dio & VoLTE within the year - got f' email saying my ROG II (only 3 months old) will no longer be supported. I now have a "$1000 paperweight" - ASUS doesn't care, I have tried and now trying to get straight answer out of ATT.
