Just thinking how I have 2 gmail accounts logged into my phone. Work email and personal email. I have that I cant tell the difference between work and personal email all in one icon. Its always a guessing game.
Im not sure of an app or rom that can do this yet but...
It would be awesome if the icon could change colors depending on what emails waiting. Or if theres an email for each. How about making it two colors or 3. Depending on how many accounts you have.
tell me something like this exists.

this may be covered some place else but I am looking to see if there is a way to set a different notification for my separate email accounts.
i.e. If I get a email on my gmail account it plays one tone and there is another tone for an email entering my outlook inbox...
bump...bump...
Watchflag (http://www.watchflag.com/) can do this. Good app. Liked it when I used it. That was a few versions ago.
Hope that helps.

Thanks!!
Ill give it a try.
It is possible not do download to your phone all the inbox, but only certain email flagged (labeled) in gmail based on a filter?
I tried to setup the inbox label to only synch to 0 days... no luck, back to minimum of 1 day (Sycn none option unavailable for the inbox). I don't want to download all my email, just those that got labeled.
Another workaround is to forward them to another account for just the mobile device, but I then end managing two Gmail accounts. Any ideas?

You can filter all your mail that is incoming and move all of it to other labels, so it never really is in the inbox.
Unfortunately if the email is not in the inbox, it will not be downloaded even if you applied another label to it and tell Gmail in the Hero to download those with that label... or I am doing something wrong?

I'm saying apply only a label to the email you DON'T want synced. So the only mail that is left in your inbox is what you want synced.
Does that make sense?
Got it!! But instead of just applying a label, emails needs to be "moved" from Inbox. And, under filtering, the only way to do it is to mark "Skip the Inbox (Archive it)" and then all emails from now on "disappears" from Inbox (you can see them in All Mail "folder").
Problems with this? Once you Sync the phone (I don't know if I am doing something wrong) it gets lot of emails even if you specified only to Sync a few days. May be this can be solved by archiving everything before setting up the filtering and synching.
...AND when you return to your Inbox (regular Web Gmail) you need to select "All Mail" every time since this is not the default view (and I don’t find a way to change that) to view those emails that may be are important, but you just don’t want them on your phone right away... and that piss me off.

Searched through here and couldnt find the answer.
I get two notifications per email. and it looks like its using two different programs. kinda confusing and annoying. any one got any ideas?
How about some more info regarding your setup?
There are 2 email apps on the phone that provide different notifications - gmail app, and email app. If you set the same email account up 2 times (once under each app) then you will get 2 different notifications.
What accounts do you have setup? what do you see under menu->settings->accounts and sync? Then what do you see if you go into the default email program and backout to the screen that lists combined inbox and then accounts?
Just turn off notifications on one of them. I turned off g-mail notifications.
I have 4 email accounts on my phone... And I honestly think that its a waste of space to have 4 individual tiles... Is there an app or something that will allow me to have say 1 tile and it checks all my addresses? I'm hoping that I'm explaining this correctly... I simply just one 1 email tile that can access all of my email accounts.... Most likely not... Cause its a smart idea... But hey wishful thinking eh..
I'd be surprised if a unified inbox doesn't come in an update..
Right now it's not possible, though.
I think the way MS thinks that is with the ability of these online cloud based email systems work such as Hotmail or Gmail that you can bring all your emails into one place and then people don't have to worry about checking every 15 mins when they can push the emails. It will unify their inbox for them and the days of POP3 access and slow IMAP folder/syncs can be eliminated.
I am not saying that is the best solution for everyone but for the general public I think it is a good one.
I have all my email flow into my Hotmail account now and before it was GMAIL. Most people really don't have more than one or two at most. MS tends to side with most people not the few.
I have been having issues with notifications created by the Gmail app. When i receive an email and click the delete option in the pulldown (I have delete set as my default action), the notification is not removed. I see the popup saying that the email was deleted (and the email was actually deleted), however the original notification still remains. I have the gmail client set up the exact same as I did on my Note 4 which did not have the same issue.
also, does anyone know why when an item goes into the priority inbox 3 gmail notifications are created?i havent been able to figure that one out even after a year since the change to the app.
