I noticed that the GSM hero and other HTC phones have a working PSFreedom Jailbreak recovery image that doesn't break the touchscreen. Is anyone working on this that we know of? I would really appreciate knowing because if I keep having to nandroid/restore/wipe/nandroid every time I want to restart my PS3 i'm gonna go nuts!

the intention of the hack is to Run code that Sony never intended to be run. You can do illegal things with it if you're that kind of person *waves finger at all you naughty people out there* but the coolest part is that it pretty much gives us total access to the PS3 system. Think of it like you would rooting your phone, only the PS3 has been locked down so hard for so long that its a big juicy target and tons of people are feverishly writing cool apps for it as we speak. Each day brings tons of cool new stuff.
One example. The PS3 has a feature called Remote play that you can use with your PSP ... IF the game developer turned it on. Even if they didn't, you can enable it with a hacked ps3. Need to get up and go to the bathroom but don't want to miss the cutscene or the next battle/race? No problem, just pick up your PSP and head out of the room and keep playing :-D
There are emulators working for it already as well, SNES & Dreamcast to name two.

I read in the forum that u will loose adb wen in recovery if I flash the moded recovery well I'm confused how do we get it back and wen u jail break do u have to for theese stepts every time I want to use it and wen I'm not using it how will my ps3 work cause I have mine linked to my network for file sharing so will this make my ps3 loose any basic features I wanna do this just wanna make sure what all it does thanks in advance oh what will I hack next lol

someone should take the game from the apple app store called touch grind and bring it to the g1 its a very addicting game and its fun if i knew how to do it i would do it myself
You cant move a iPhone App to a Android app! (Except you have the cocoa-code from the developer...)

err dude, pretty much all of us on here have multi touch now since it comes on all the latest ROM builds, so its proven that any multi touch application is more than possible.
And if your still on a stock ROM without multi touch then sucks to be you but do your research first!

Most people don't have multitouch. These people wouldn't be able to play the game. What's the point in making a game like that if only so little people are going to buy it?
Well, near everyone on XDA is using multi-touch (at least I presume, anyone reppin Android 1.0?)
And also, XDA is ready, willing, and able to rip APK's. We can do almost anything. Someone would just need to sit down and code.

I have the Fender Mytouch coming in the mail. its the first android device i'll have ever used so i dont know how to extract files from it. if its anything like WinMo, im sure i can figure it out, but in case i can't it would be great if someone to give me a quick tutorial.

It's nothing like winmo,I had a touch hd and when I changed to magic I bricked it cos I thought it was like win mo. Android will let u flash the wrong thing thus bricking.
Read up like mad and make sure you quadruple check everything! But you will love android!

i`d like to ask if there´s an app that allows to use your android phone as gamepad for windows. just like nebudroid, but with multitouch.

Although personally I cant find anything that allows you to do that, if you just want to use your phone to play emulators on windows or other things, then try using RemoteDroid, but its really only that useful if your phone has a physical keyboard. Its incredibly easy to set-up, took me 3 minutes.
i know android can pretty much do anything, but IMO there are just some things it shouldn't. wired xbox 360 controller will make you at least 5^14x happier.
Well... a "wired xbox 360 controller" might "make you at least 5^14x happier." but I don't feel like carrying that around all the time whereas carrying a phone around is already a necessary evil

this guy has the right idea, i mean modern warfare 2's single player is totally worth ignoring the multiplayer for.
and resident evil 5's AI is way better than playing with a friend

So any thoughts if this can be done? I haven't seen any of the devs say anything, but of course they might not have ps3 units.

the new firmware fixes the exploit used to make the mod work, so the answer is when you update the firmware it will undo the mod
I'm surprised no1 has ported this to the vogue yet, the HD2 got it already, maybe that file works with the Vogue??

if its anything like the playstation emulator as far as for performance, we just dont have the specs to run it even with the GPU, and CPU overclocked. That playstation emulator still was unplayable i expect the same result

This is not an emulator, it's just an edited android boot that sets the device as a usb hub

Just tried it and it didn't work... not surprising considering its for a totally different piece of hardware
Now that HD2 code is out, couldn't someone port it to Vogue? seems like it wouldn't be that hard
PSFreedom has also been ported to the Droid Compiled against 2.6.32 kernel
i dont know how easy it would be but im assuming with more and more droid devices being ported to someone will make a vogue port hopefully
you do not need 3.42 to continue playing online. There are several proxy servers you can run on your windows machine that will let your ps3 continue to work online reporting to psn that you have 3.42 even tho your only on 3.41.
This only works because the only thing 3.42 did was fix psfreedom so there is no real reason to have it.
I was reading up on this a little bit. From what I see for other phones, it seems like you need to flash your rom to PSGROOVE everytime you want to use it to play a game? Is that right?
If so, can the phone still work as a phone in the meantime?
i think as long as the kernel makes the usb device look like a hub then the rest is scripts i could be wrong though
if thats the case it would only need 1 flash, but i believe i read somewhere you loose usb mass storage capability something like that
some phones i think do have a rom dedicated for just PSFREEDOM
eitherway i would still use it and run a seperate copy of android from the SD when i wanted to play the ps3
the ones i've been looking at they arn't flashing, they are temporarily booting from a new image (using adb) that has insmod enabled and working so they can load the usb module and change the usb port on the phone to register as a hub instead. I havn't tried it myself yet but I do know we have insmod already enabled... or at least the command is there so we might not need that step.

I know that they are up to 6.3x and there would be alot for me to do. But just looking for a reason to. Anybody running cfw and have a perspective I can't see? Please chime in.

Can't think of the name of now off hand, but I think I saw a theming wizard last year. Let's you redo all the pics and doesn't require any hacking. It makes a theme for you to save to the memory stick and apply. Is that like what you're talking about. Or theming a bit deeper?

i hacked my phat to cfw n i dont see any point to be fair. all homebrew released isnt any good. id say keep ofw... there arw afww good things. if y get m33 you can softmod the batt into pandora... n shut it down via the same menu rather than flicking the power button..

Personally, I've tried emulators on my Evo, and for me it's super odd to play them on a touch screen. I've tried using a wiimote with it's attachment, but no matter what wiimote or ime I've used, there's always a input delay. PSP can emulate PS1, N64, GBA, SNES, and Genesis for me with decent controls. Plus there are some games on it that are pretty good. Phantasy Star Portable series is pretty good.

Well i changed the whole UI. If i find my psp (haven't used it in a while) il post some pics. The theme i was using most wasnt from me, you can download a lot of them...
I was just out and 'bout, seeing what else was on xda(I've stayed pretty sheltered in the epic section). Saw your title had psp, I was **** crazy for getting one. But to my disappointment(and lots of $ later), the only thing I even remotely like it for was "black ops". Definitely didn't hold my interest. But I still refuse to get rid of it
