We are a group of physiotherapists that have been forced to do a survey about junk-food and peoples thoughts about it, please take your time to answer these questions.
Why aren't we investing in long-term solutions such as improving the quality / nutritional value of the soil?
Why do you think fast food has become so widespread, despite the poor quality?
Why are people still "uninformed" about food, although knowledge is available?
Why do scare campagns do poorly in your country. if they do ?
Do you think that people who drink alcohol or smoke should have to pay for treatment of diseases related to lifestyle, and why?
what country are you from?
Thanks in advance.

I'm from England. I eat junk when I cannot be bothered to cook. We have hectic lives now for what our bodies were not intended to do. Hence the rise in mental health issues. Easiest way out is fast food...

Possibly ALIEN LIFE

Just thought I had to share this! here's a link to yahoo article
http://news.yahoo.com/s/digitaltrends/nasascientistfindsevidenceofalienlife
I'd be more interested if they had found a cure for cancer or something.
Like, c'mon, aliens are exciting and all, but what if they're real? What's going to happen? Most likely - nothing. For the past 2000+ years there hasn't be a recorded face-to-face alien encounter so I highly doubt anything would happen.
But yeah, exciting none the least.
Those links got scrubbed. Which is typical for our friends in Menwith Hill Surrey.

I'm very excited about this. I just hope these claims are true. I just think its kind of a coincidence that this happened, because there were rumors that the American government will soon admit that there is alien life. But its all hear say...idk. Plus this is way more of a big deal than a lame UFO. This is science! NASA is serious about this, they've invited 5,000 scientists to examine the evidence. If this isn't a big deal to anyone then wake up. If these claims become fact, it's the biggest discovery of man-kind.

We're rather shallow and jaded in this country, augoza. Don't expect too much.
There's no aliens
Lets face it, IF there is life out there intelligent enough to to find us and make contact, then the chances are that they would be much more advanced than us and either totally ignore us or destroy us. In the style of either "Independence Day" or "Mars Attacks"???
Im hoping its more like Mars Attacks personally.......
As far as Im concerned unless they bring us some kind of strange and exotic space meat and teach how to cook it then they can **** off.

Agreed. But lets face the facts first. NASA only CLAIMS so far. And what they found was just life on a micro level so far. No intelligent life. These organism's may be the only alien life besides us. As soon as someone says "aliens" most people jump to conclusions and think guns and destruction, But it could be as innocent as plant life on another planet.

There is no such tings as aliens,
humans have been building UFOs since the WWII
and they are genetically engineering creatures to make what looks like an alien.

Well I personally think its silly to believe we're the only life in this whole universe. Its a strong theory. And I've heard about USA and other countries back-engineering alien craft. In my opinion, most legit UFO sightings were humans controlling the craft. Could be possible. BUT like I said people all those stories don't mean anything compared to this. No scientist has got involved with those theories. And yes I do somewhat support some theories. But this is science people. Hail science lol

1. We might not have cured cancer, but the aliens might have
2. It is true that if there's aliens, one look at 4chan would have them bombing us back to the stone age (if we are lucky)

LMAO! Short and sweet
Sky News amongst others should be ashamed the amount of coverage they are giving to this junkie pop star who no doubt overdosed on drugs after the terrible events that have happened in Norway.
Amy Winehouse had it all, and has had numerous chances to come clean and get off drugs but choose otherwise therefore it's hard trying to have any sympathy for her to be brutally honest, sorry it has to be said.

Sucks about Winehouse. Death is never a good thing, even if drugs are related. However I find myself more concerned about the massacre of innocent people at a summer youth camp.
I hope for nothing but the best for the friends and families of all that died in both events.

Anybody on this Forum in the Military?

Like the title states... I'm pre-enlisting into the Marine Corps next summer, and I've recently gotten into XDA. I figured I'd try to find anyone else on this Forum in/joining the Military.
I almost signed up to the British Army when i was 16 and have always regretted not following through with it. In my work i have a lot of colleagues who are ex-military and they're all great guys. Every one of them deserve the utmost respect for serving their country.
If it's what you want to do, don't let anything stand in your way! Keep us updated with your news and hopefully in future you can tell us stories about your Boot-Camp and Tours of duty!
I'm also in the process of joining the USMC. I'm just waiting for my backround check to come in but its been two months already .. I think its because I had to put in a waiver but hopefully my waivers go thru ..

I'm sitting next to a retired Ghurka atm and those guys are fearless. Most of them serve for 20 years or more and have seen combat all over the world. One of them, who is a serving soldier, is currently under investigation for cutting the head off a Taliban fighter.
Who needs guns!

When the military are used to police the civilians in their own country you know that something is wrong! Any soldier that raises a weapon to one of their own deserves everything that IS coming to them!
Good luck my friend. The people will always triumph in the end, be patient!
I deeply believe in Karma. Not as some supernatural, occult force...just that everyone has everything that's coming to them! Live your life as a good person and good things will come your way. Live your life as an evil bastard and that's how your life will end.
Live by the sword, die by the sword. What goes around, comes around. Pick your metaphor! The good will out...

There's no politicaling going on around here! So how's everyone finding their HTC, Widows Mobile phone anyway.....?
Edit: It's a shame that there have to be divisions, borders, territory, politics in real life. We are all one race and we all share the same planet. XDA is my favourite site because the things that bring us together knows no boundaries. I now have friends all over the world, all good people, and like the other 99% of the worlds population we all want the same thing! A long and fruitful life and good health for ourselves, our friends and our families.
In a forum of 4 million members i would say that XDA OT is the place to come to find friendship, understanding, respect, fun, sadness, joy, and laughter. We have member aged from 14 years to 60 years, from every walk of life, from every nation. We don't fight, we don't hate...we laugh, we share sorrow and we spread happiness. I would be a lesser person if not for the people i surround myself with here. I learn with these people, i share with these people...these people are my family!*
*The mods are especially awesome!
I was born in the military. My mom was in the Army and had me right before her Unit was deployed to Grenada or Panama or some place back then. She had the choice of signing me over to the custody of the US or get out of the military. My mom was born in the military, too. On one of the Naval bases in Hawaii. My grandpa was in the Marines. I got accepted in high school but backed out when a mess of things happened and none of my family wanted me to enlist, but rather go in after collage. Got rejected when I was 23 for enlistment and again when I was 25. Too much trouble making when I was a kid. Maybe we'll get in another world war and open the draft again. I'll join then, they won't reject me then.

Has the word THANKS and SORRY become to cheap?

Do you think that, too?
Quite the opposite, i reckon they're still not used enough. Of course it's become easier to do online but people are still reserved and reticent to be polite to strangers. Natural reaction i guess. Perhaps the fact that people are being polite online may carry over to real life eventually?
Personally i've always found myself being awkward in real life social situations and heartfelt stuff just makes it worse. Gotta be drunk for that stuff! No such problem saying Thanks, please, sorry etc on here though.
I don't think the mods will like that. A "thank you" is a thing you'll have to deserve.
I will however 'Thank' any currently serving, or previously serving, member of any of the Armed Services on principal.
Should the OP decide to enlist and serve his Queen and Country i will be the first to hit that button!

Lulz! So you feel like you're being played? Kids are masters at manipulation and will stop at nothing! The two 'angels' that i share a house with know exactly how to wrap me in knots.
Bless 'em. (They're not mine so i only have to digest them in bite sized chunks).
When i was younger i had terrible trouble admitting when i was wrong. I would defend my argument long after it had stopped being logical. I think that's common too. It stings the pride. I'm glad i'm not like that any more.

"No daddy, we don't go to bed at this time and i will play this some more, and then i will watch television for a while...", in the sweetest voice imaginable, as if she's explaining the way things are to a total idiot.

Okay, so I stopped smoking.

Haven't smoked a cigarette since Tuesday and here is how.
My wife and I both started vaping.
We have a local store here.
Can be found on the Web at http://mountainoakvapors.com
We got the Ego Twist system.
Very pleasant taste and smell, no tobacco unless you choose a tobacco line.
Can choose many flavors and nicotine levels all the way to no nicotine.
Already starting to breath better and smell and taste more.
Can even mix flavors to suit your taste.
I am vaping chocolate and coffee right now.
Thought I would share in case anyone else is trying to quit.
Working well for us.

It is not meant as an advertisement.
It is meant to help smokers stop smoking.
It is not a competitor or anything like that.
I for one know how hard it is to stop smoking so I posted this to give hope to others facing the same issues.
If the administration feels it is a violation to post this they can let me know.
I am not affiliated with this company in anyway.
It is just a local company I found here and so far it works for me.
I posted only as encouragement.

I've done that. Told my self I'm not smoking anymore. 1 week later I start smoking again.
We are not using tobacco at all.
The nicotine levels in our setups is bare minimum at 9.
In a couple weeks we will drop all nicotine and try just vaping for a few.
So we are inhaling mostly vapor and no second hand smoke.
No smoke at all for that matter.

By that statement someone chewing nicorette gum or using a patch would still be a smoker.
Understand your statement but it isn't accurate.
If you have never tried vaping, it may work for you.
Started smoking after my first marriage went down the drain.
Been smoking ever since and this seems to be working.
So far I have not even craved a regular cigarette after that first day.
Vaping helps drop nicotine dependence by letting you lower the amount slowly down to 0.
It also helps because if you need the hand movement like many smokers do, this allows that while removing all the harmful tar and other things from your daily life.

I worded that wrong. I meant you are still a nicotine addict. Nicorette and patches don't help as much because they still provide your body with the cancer causing chemicals, which is what the body craves. So do eCigs.
