i think i have bricked my phone...i flashed speedmod kernel in the morning and in the evening i flashed s3 launcher..the phone booted fine..but after a reboot..the phone goes black after the samsung logo..i am able to go into download mode..please help..
If you can get into download, then flash a stock rom using Odin and see if this gets you up and running. Then try again.

Don't worry, if you did nothing else other than what you posted, it is just a soft brick.
Flash stock firmware with PC Odin.
I flash Cyanogen Mod in the morning, Gingerbread in the afternoon, mess up with it and flash ICS in the evening and just get a soft brick just stay on safe kernel, you'll be fine.

Try to flash gb again using a 16gb .pit file and selecting "repartition" also.

Don't mess up with boot loaders, repartition and PIT unless you really have to.
If you are on gingerbread, boot into recovery and factory reset.
It seems that you have soft brick.

Sorry, but this seems to be the brick bug. So you didn't read and followe the warnings in all the stickies, right?
So maybe a good point for starting to read about brick bug here (this isn't meant sarcastic).
Easy help or solution isn't possible. You could try with your Samsung warranty.
Have you ever wiped on stock ICS ?

What I did before is to is to use CWM.zip to root the stock ICS and then flash to Criskelo ICS ROM
it went very well and I don't find any problem.
before after using CWM.zip to flash a different kernel (speedmod), it stuck at the logo screen.
please help me Dr. ketan

Yes , I learnt the lesson of not using the temp CWM.zip.
after I restored my phone, it should be in the default stock kernel .
Are you suggesting I use Odin to install a "safe" kernel , for example , "SpeedMod K3-13 for Odin" and try a wipe?

Yes... u can use PC odin and the tar file of speedmod in PDA to change the kernel... moreover when u install the speedmod u get CWM automatically
PS: not a 100% guarantee of success

I think this one is when you are sure shot brick, may be you should first try flashing rooted GB rom using odin and if that too didn't work, try the method in your link. You can find rooted GB in my sig.

Finally , PIT method as mention in the link works !!!
I got the rooted GB in my Note back in life now ! although I lost 5 GB after pit. it's better than a expensive paperweight before !
by the way, is there any way to restore the data that I have backup in stock ICS without bricks the note again ?
thanks

Great!! how did you backup? If it is nandroid then do not try to restore on GB and if TB or any other app then you can restore one by one, except system apps.
Hi my note was stuck at Samsung screen, so I flashed with stock 4.0.4 firmware (Australia & Optus) and now in Odin in constantly hangs at the hidden.img part..
Is the phone screwed, I've heard the emmc block is damaged now? Is there is fix for this?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the response! Yes can enter download mode holding the power, volume and home buttons. I've tried stock Australian roms and stock Hong Kong roms as I'm not sure whether its a AU model or HK model.. They're 4.0.4, I'm not sure what you mean by GB? Do you mean ginger bread actually and I should try download a rom that isn't 4.x.x??
Thanks for your time..
Yes i mean gingerbread(2.3.6)
Try flashing a stock gingerbread(2.3.6) rom

Be careful, you might have one of your partition broken...
My friend had this before, and he finally succeeded to flash N7000DXLR5 firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
But then he checked his storage capacity was reduced to 7GB...
Do you have a warranty? If you've got some binary counter or yellow triangle, it is better to remove it first using a jig
Then go to the nearest Samsung Service Center, hopefully you'll get a replacement...
hm... definitely I'm sure one of his file partition is already corrupted...
@OP, you may need to check the thread on the PIT file method to revive your Note(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886)... perhaps you might have the dreaded bug already...
Hi, hope someone can help.
I have messed up my note, I downloaded Jelly Been and hate it so I thought I would download ICS again.
So guess what I did! I downloaded via odin this file > GL_NOTECORE_v12_STD
Now my phone will not boot up past the samsung sign and yellow triangle.
Can you tell me which kernel to download to wipe this one?
Thanks again
ps - I have access to download screen ready to go.

Great now go to recovery again do the wipes and you can download JB (i would recommend) or ICS from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Extract the zip file. Go to download mode click on PDA choose the .tar or tar.md5 file and leave everything as it is in Pc Odin and click on start. Once done, even if you are using JB download the same speedmod kenel or philz or any of the safe kernels and flash it (highly recommended if you are using ICS). Never wipe on stock recovery if you choose to flash ICS.
Cheers!!!

Not sniping at ch'ya but, how about using the Search next time?
BTW: You'll find your answers HERE!
Just flash the dbdata.rfs.tar to PDA in Odin3 v1.7. The Device should automatically reboot, you may have to quickly press up on the Volume Rocker to make sure it boots into recovery. Now you should be able to format both the User and Cache Memories. Which should clear up that mess your in.
