Rom upgrade for dummies

Please Help in upgrading a new ROM step by step

Help needed badly
my ROM v is 1.14.404.3 (22273) WWE and i want to upgrade to miri 6.5_21198_v5.2 but have no idea how to start i have zero knowledge about this, thats why i started this threat so that people like me can get some help.
could someone please help me with what i need and how to do the rom upgrade help....

You must flash HardSPL first to be able to flash this ROM!

An alternative is USPL, it doesn't change your original SPL!

is it wm 6.5 i want that one i like its interface
also i flash my fone before using HardSPL and it showed 100% but nothing happened? is there any video or images that can help me please

For all information on flashing, HardSPL, USPL as well as roms available why not check out the wiki? Thats what its for!!
There is also countless threads here regarding flashing, backing up, HardSPL etc etc etc

but he forgot to shoe that we need to drag the .nbh file in to the wrapper to flash the rom otherwise i will create a problem

Hi,
you will need to flash a new , 6.5-based custom ROM to your device. To do that you will need HardSPL, the Rom and some patience.
At first you should read the How-to on flashing the Diamond.

Newbie in ROM installation

Hi,
I read about ROM that can be downloaded to upgrade PPC. I downloaded the the WM 6.5ROM for my OPAL.
I just fell confused about some points that I hope you can help me with:
Do I have to install any SPL or HardSPL to be able to install the ROM?
Is there any stable version of WM 6.5 for opal or most of them have bugs?
I also hope that posters of new ROMs include all necessary steps to install their ROM and don't rely on the previous knowledge so newbies don't feel lost all the way.

Any way, thanks for watching this topic, I found an answer that could be useful to others, it is the steps necessary to install your ROM (it uses Diamond but same steps applied)

Upgrade procedure from Win 6.1 to Win 6.5

Can anyone please explain somewhere or share the post HOW TO UPGRADE XPERIA X1 from Win 6.1 to Win 6.5
SORRY SORRY for being a newbie but i cannot find a proper post with all explanation from the begining to the end.

You just need to flash any 6.5 rom. It is that simple, guides to flashing can be found in the beginning of this first page, stickied. If you want to have 6.1 again, then just flash 6.1 rom, done.

You can always look around this sub-forum for a ROM, almost every chef uses WM 6.5/.x here.
You will need to do this first:

And pick a ROM that you like and follow the steps given.
I'd personally recommend NRGZ28's Energy ROM, the latest build is very stable and fast.

how to change from 6.1 to 6.5? Easy..
Install Hard-SPL first then you can install any roms that you like.. eg. 6.1 or 6.5.x roms.. your choice.
Remember to Hard-SPL 1st! and save your things b4 flashing a rom

i can tell you that you have lots of nice roms and when you learn it its easy but always task29 between roms i dident in the beginning so i got bugs and problems all the time.
i have tested nearly all and all is god but the energy roms are filled with god to have software and easy to make manilla as you want it and every thing works ok.
try them all dont be shy

Hi, I would like to upgrade my phone to the latest ROM / Windows 6.5
My phone have:
SPL-1.54.0000
ROM version: 1.56.405.1 (43972) WWE
Can someone point me in right direction?

I would advice to upgrade to SPL 1.56+ and than flash one of the roms already cooked by the chef's. Use the method that they advice. usually its pretty straight forward. You unpack the zip/rar and find two files in. execute the exe while your blackstone is connected in active sync to your pc and follow the steps. you must have at least 50% battery. I use Energy roms v21916 which are the most stable ones in my opinion but thats for you to find out... gl

CAn you point me to post that descibes updating to SPL 1.56+? I managed to install coocked ROM on SPL 1.54 using USPL route but I'm guessing SPL 1.56 is newer / faster / better so it would be really useful to upgrade to this version. Can you tell me how I can do it?

The top of this forum is no different. I'd advise you to read the top 6 threads in this forum before you do anything else.....just some gentle advice
