How to make phone vibrate when the call is answered - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to make the phone vibrate when the reciever answers the call like in the htc phones.
please ...
is there any application for this??

I can see that on froyo , go Settings -> Call settings -> All calls ->Outgoing call vibration and tick it on
I dont recall having this feature on eclair tho.

yeah mine is on eclair.
when this ****ing froyo will be available to india.(officially)

In Froyo 2.2 is this option but vibration is sooooo weak that is difficult to feel it...
HOW I can change this???
Why this vibration is not strong like vibration after swith off.
Any suggestion?

No news?
I don't understand that so many users doesn't missing that choice.
Is there any application on the market , that phone will vibrate on answer. But really vibrate ( stong vibrate that you can feel-it).

I believe the developers do not think much about such user friendly stuff.
I expected android much more user friendly and rich the iphone
There is still missing a lot!
The vendors (aspecially samsung) are not very busy either )

Possible to boost speed in HTC Dialer?

Hey there
I have learned that the HTC Dialer is pretty slow compared with the standard WM dialer. It will not only speed the phone up by disabling it, but also free up around 10 mb of ram! However, i like the dialers visuals, and the feature that i can flip the phone if i want to mute a call, which is disabled to if i disable the skin.
I saw the other day in some thread that by converting images from png to jpeg you could spare some ram and space, but can't remember if it was the dailer the topic where about nor where i found this topic.
So my question is. Is it possible to boost the performance of the HTC Dialer ? I do not care if it should take up 10 megs of my ram, all i wan't it to is to get quicker and more responsive, like the traditional wm default dialer, as i want the layout and the "flip to mute" functionality..
Is this possible in some way?

Havent tried it myself... but if It has all the fetures that HTC Dialer has I might give it a try..
Yup!
I'm using that manila VGA dialer, and it doesn't use more than 5.5MBs!! Thats pretty sweet.
And personally, I feel it looks better, with the black/white combination.
One thing to note though.. It takes like 0.8secs to launch the dialer from the moment you press the call button.. BUT, when it launches, it refreshes up your screen instantly!
Compared to the original diamond one, which may get activated quick, but takes a little more time to draw up to the screen.
Overall, it's a keeper for me. Try and.. if ya don't like, you can uninstall.
Cheers.
i found in the new advanced config 3, you can set the dialer hang up time from the default 3 seconds down to pretty much instant. i dont understand why in the world the default time from pushing hangup to actually ending the call would be 3 seconds. but im also a retard.

I've installed this one ... I like it very much...the 0.8 sec problem is ok for me... but I have another problem... when somebody's calling me ( I have the option to Vibrate and Ring) , after I press Talk ( Answer ) the phone vibrates for about 2 seconds.... very annoying... any ideas?
Go into the phone app and then menu -> options -> advanced and uncheck 'Vibrate device when connection is established'

That is when youre making a call.
But what vibecatalin is saying is when youre picking up the phone, as it when it is vibrating/ringing. When you pick up, the vibrating doesnt cut off instantly.
Yea.. I got that too.. but somehow bearing with it.. heh.
But that sounds like 'vibrate on connect' to me

Recieving Texts

Alright, First off I searched using the search here and using google using keywords of '' wake up, tilt, kaiser, text, notification, etc. ''.
But I couldn't find a answer to my question so, here I start a new thread. If anyone has owned a Blackberry, (dont kill me now lol) but when you recieved a text. your device wouldn't wake up from sleep untill you woke it up. is there something similar i could do with the tilt? any thanks would be appreciated. I had already searched google, tried diff. options on the device i couldnt figure it out. So I'm hoping I dont get flamed.

bump 0 ha. hope no one gets mad.
Not sure about making it not wake up, but you can control the notifications to make it less intrusive. There's the built-in WM6 notification options, or if you want more control, the Kaiser Notifications program.
The thing is, I've tried threw the settings, nothing stopped the backlight from turning on when i get a text. I have Kaiser Notification for the LED's at the top, thats how it is on the blackberry. Your phones asleep but will still make a noise/vibrate and then a LED will alert you.
It's just annoying like in a movie where when you put your phone on vibrate and put it in the cupholder, the light still shines... not fun when your backlights all the way on. if you know what i mean
bump, but with a question.
or does anyone know a way so that when you recieve a text the backlight stays off instead of illuminating? any help would be apperciated.

Backlight
I use PhoneAlarm Pro to handle my notifications for SMS and Email and it's setting for no backlight on SMS works fine for me.
Yup can verify that PhoneALarm does this .....

App Request... WILL PAY

I know I'm not the only one looking for but a full screen caller id. So when a call comes in it covers the full screen, with the options on screen of answering, silent, or streight to VM. I know my self will donate and believe others will as well. So when a call comes in the picture of said person would cover up full screen. Not sure why there isn't one yet
That actually sounds like a nice idea... would love the on-screen selection.. I doubt you would be able to get the callers pic stretched full screen since pics are stored in google's database and I believe they are resized, I could be wrong tho.. I would pay as well
I read somewhere this app can't be done right now. There is nothing in the current SDK that allows to hook anything to the action started by the incoming call.
Maybe someone who knows more about the Android SDK could ellaborate on this...
The White Pages Caller ID app, seems to have no problem catching an incoming call event and displaying a custom view tat shows caller information. Of course, there may not be any way to interact and block, answer, etc... from any screen other than the default incoming call screen, though I am not positive.
Just try hero.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=522076 - JACMan Hero 1.6
You should just try one of the hero builds, the dialer, contacts, are much nicer, htc totally streamlined the look of the standard apps(dialer, htc chirp, even the clock!)
The answer screen is almost exactly what you're looking for I'm sure. The pic isn't full screen, but the incoming call notification is full screen, you have answer decline right on the screen and hero even has a function(that I can't get to work) that it'll send out a standard rejection sms when you hit decline. The roms aren't 100% stable yet, but don't use the rosie.apk(disable the default in app mgnt) and you're well on your way to a pleasurable calling experience.
Later Tater.

The Rogers Rom (magic) has a bigger picture for incoming and out going and is VERY fast and stable.
I know a few people that will pay for an app like that (including myself). I'd love to see this developed.
yea ive asked about this before as well. and i agree, not feeling to well on hero port to g1. this would be a great ap, id def donate
I don't see why its not possible since my crappy TREO 750 did it, with a resistive screen to boot (not that it really matters)

[REQ] tacile feedback (vibrate on touch)

As a winmo convert, I seriiously miss snailslug's touch response which you could set to have very soft vibrations on touch a release. Perhaps such a mod could be made for android. There is already some tactile feedback in 2.0, however I want more, everywhere, anywhere!
bump bump bump
Have a look at Accessibility->Kickback in settings. I just tried it and seems to do what you're requesting.

nope, it actually vibrates when the screen updates, which is kind of annoying if you got the download notification showing up and you want your phone to be silent... maybe i'll write an application that does this some time, but i gotta get into the whole thing first :S
This would need to be written into the framework rather than an app. I miss that WinMo app too and it was written as a driver that's loaded by the OS. That's not really possible with Android (using a Linux kernel) therefore it needs to be written into the framework (which can only be done by Rom makers, etc).
download any rom with the spare parts app added , in there is an option called haptic feedback , .....that wut ur looking for
