I think that build is from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825559
will we see now a new thread from every user, who follows the progress of the devs? each with already posted Android/Kernel (from the devs them self)???
AFAIK: In this Package there is nothing new and nothing improved.
in a month or so we could have 100 of Threads with "The super mega giga bestestestest android ever" and nobody knows what does the threads mean

FAQ & How To
Information on using Android on the Diamond 2.
More information is also available on the WiKi
F.A.Q.
Q. Why is my touchscreen not calibrated properly?
A. Delete the "ts-calibration" file in the XDAndroid root and start haret.exe again, touch properly the 5 white dots on the boot-up sequence.
Q. Why is my led blinking between orange and green, and what those colors means?
A. Green - phone is sleeping, Orange - phone is awake. Blinking between this 2 colors means that the device is not sleeping properly or is doing something in the background ( checking for emails,... )
Q. Why when I return to WM my time is messed up?
A. Android uses a different way to tell time, causing Windows Mobile to change to another time (For example, if you are GMT -5 it will be 5 hours ahead, if you are GMT +5 it will show 5 hours behind.)
Q. Why am I stuck on the lockscreen?
A. Try tapping the power button once, then unlocking. The device thinks the screen is off.
Q. How do I install an .APK file from my PC?
A. Create a folder called "AndroidApps" on your storage card and place your file there.
Q. Why cant my phone find any network?
A. Change "force_cdma=1" in the STARTUP.TXT to "force_cdma=0".
Q. Why wifi doesn't work in Android?
A. Before booting into Android throught haret.exe, switch "on" the wifi in WinMo.
Q. How do i return to WinMo after booting into Android?
A. You could hold the "end call" key and press "Power off", or at the back remove the stylus and press the little red button.
Q. Why HARET freezes/hangs on execution?
A. Be sure to use the latest zImage, rootfs, initramfs and to run you TD2 at stock CPU speeds ( not overclocked, in most cases this cause the problem ).
Q. Why does the end call button has the same function as the power button and how do i fix this?
A. The key mapping was changed in a recent rootfs release, to sort that out go into the Main Menu -> SpareParts and select the "End button behaviour" to be "Go Home".
Q. Why I have no sound on incoming calls & the other person can't hear me?
A. A little workaround until this get fixed is: after android boots, first, call someone (you can call yourself too ), after that all subsequent calls should be ok.
More coming soon.

Usefull Startup.txt commands ( copy cmds without quotes ):
Overclocking
"acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=XXXXXX" - Used for overclocking your cpu ( example: "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=650000" is 650 MHz / 650 000 kHz ) - Use it at your own risk!!!
Setting another folder as your Android root
"rel_path=place here the folder name" - If you dont want to put XDAndroid in your SD root you can put it in another folder ( It is recommended that you call this folder "andboot" and not "Android", example: you created a folder named "andboot" in the root of your SD for XDAndroid, add this to your startup.txt "rel_path=andboot" )
Onscreen terminal keyboard
"msmvkeyb_toggle= (on/off)"
on = displays terminal onscreen keyboard
off = hide terminal onscreen keyboard
Headset
"snd.force_headset=X"
1=USB headset
2=3.5mm headset
Incall volume adjust
"htc_hw.call_vol=X"
0-5
0=being lowest and 5=being loudest
Enable/Disable handsfree
"htc_hw.handsfree=X"
1=Enable
0=Disable
Recommended best loud and clear voice values are said to be 5/1
"htc_hw.call_vol=5"
"htc_hw.handsfree=1"
Disable low battery Warning
"htc_battery_smem.fake=1"

How to install and run Android on your TD2
Installation:
First step and the most important be sure to backup all your valuable data from your SD card
Before downloading anything be sure that your SD card is formated in FAT32 file system and you have enough space ( min. 512mb, recommended 1024mb )
Download the latest bundle build here [Post 4]
Download the system only package ( if bundle is from a newer date then system only then skip this step ) here, rename it to system.ext2 if needed and overwrite it with the one from the bundle package
Unzip the contents of the .zip file
Copy all contents of the unzipped file to the ROOT of your Storage Card or in ANDBOOT folder ( be sure to add then "rel_path=ANDBOOT" in startup.txt between quotations )
Copy the STARTUP.txt located in STARTUP CONFIG->TOPAZ folder to the root of your SD card or in the ANDBOOT folder
It should look like this:
/Storage Card/
/AndroidApps/
/conf/
/media/
/STARTUP CONFIG/
/STARTUP.TXT
/haret.exe
/initrd.gz
/rootfs.img
/system.ex2
/zImage
Running Android:
Browse to your storage card and open/run the file Haret.exe
On the first boot android will ask you to tap 5 white dots for touchscreen calibration
Wait for Android to be completely up and running

General info & tips
Data Image ( data.img ) is where all your settings, apps,... basically everything you have done to customise your android experience is stored there. Deleting it will result in losing all of settings, apps,...
To setup your ringtones create you need to create a folder tree:
/sdcard/media/alarms
/sdcard/media/notifications
/sdcard/media/ringtones
To change the keyboard language and layout to qwerty, hold down ( long press ) any text box to get other options and select android. You can also change it from the settings page.
To get a better & faster GPS location time be sure to run QuickGPS and update the satellites before going to Android.

It's good to see someone starting this project.
Just like we need a good HardSPL, we also need android on our shiny new diamonds. I just hope that we can get somewhere with it and some more devs pick it up as the phone becomes more popular.

Agreed, hardware-wise I think the HD is the closest to the TD2 among the "older" htc models.
Appart from the slider bar and the buttons (sensistive on the HD, mechanical on the TD2), I think the hardware and screen resolution are exactly the same....
The Diamond version still seems to be the one that boots at least into console. The HD version does not get past haret.
Got My D2 and can't wait for progress on this to start. Big Kudos to all that will be and are working on this on the D2 and other phones. I'm just sad I have no way or knowledge to help.
Me too... me too... I keep checking back every day for a HardSPL, and news on the Android front.

Android is Linux based and open source, right?
So will you start charging when it is released? I hope not.
Will there be some kind of Kitchen where we can start figuring possibility of porting it to other devices?
No, and if anyone here charges for it, I would really be cautious of it. Android is open source from google. And it has already been ported (more or less) to the Kaiser, Vogue, Diamond, Raphael, Touch HD and quite possibly more.

Hope this works as planned... The thing is, hardware-wise, the D2 is similar to both the TouchHD and to the original Diamond. Now my problem is obtaining this thing in CDMA. Now only if HTC listened to its users .

To be fair, the Touch HD port has stalled at an early stage.
There seem to be major problems at a deeper hardware level (Too complex for me to understand). So it might not ever happen.....

cheers
Don't think anyone's working on this yet but I dumped the mddi client capabilities struct found in mddi_probe() of mddi.c. Looks like we've got a new mddi client manufacturer (Mfr_Name=B9F6).
Full dump here:
http://pastebin.com/f365f22a6
Thought I should explain this a little... This is the reason why the framebuffer does not work at the moment. The manufacturer ID is not in any published linux driver code at the moment so we can't just drop in another driver. First things first, we need to find out the make and model of the mddi client, pedroo said he'd get some pics of the PCB/LCD so hopefully we'll be able to get some model numbers.
One mddi client chip which is capable but I haven't been able to find any information on is the Samsung S6D05A0. Long shot but does anyone have an account with Samsung they can use to get the data sheet?
MOD Edit : This thread is CLOSED as u can see that the OP has DISCONTINUED his development

Bravo!!!
CONGRATULATIONS- for the first SENSE-FroYo on our tattoo.
I am sure things will only work better from now on.
I will try it, just to see how much our comfortableSense is
using/slowing the tattoo-comparing to the other.
Thank you for the effort!!!
Vuk
hope you will keep improving it
Hope you will find time, and try to make everything that is possible to work.
would be VERY NICE if by some magic, our poor camera could work, while running any variant of FRO-YO
THANKS AGAIN
VUk
Testing now the ROM...very nice!
- market force close in 80% times, but can download apps
- screen calibration can improve
- gps working
- WiFi working (no signal meter)
Note: with this ROM,camera don't force close, only keeps it black...maybe it can help?
I'm pretty sure that this ROM will be better and better with the time! Very good job dexter!!

mobile data works, just remember to enter APN settings yourself.
and button light, is maybe because lights driver is wrong, ill check up on it.
Orientation sensor
The driver for orienation sensor maybe is buggy, even the calibration doesnt work.
Happy Birthday to me!
Thanks for this "new Tattoo" I'm getting on my birthday Installing as I write. I'll be reporting.

i think both kernel + sensor driver might be non-2.2 compliant..
anyways ill experiment, its just 1 day old now and im new to HTC, only worked on Motorola android before..
but as long as i find it interesting, its a challenge, so im hoping it can be improved, as most roms are 2.6.29 based, so hopefully it works.
Some Screen shots from this fantastic Rom!
Looks promosing
Awesome start
Pretty good at responding for basic function, based on the fact that you only spent a day in building it.
Well done
Few things noticed on the first use:
3G symbol alway on the status bar (in spite turning off mobile data)
and could you disable auto-rotate in the ROM by default.
phone model shows desire (is this adopted from desire ROM??)
(Attached a snapshot)
more bugs later
Thanks
Comments
There is a "DU" and "QQ" chinese apps that could be removed.
I couldn't test Transfer Data, but sounds like an excelent idea. Anybody tried it out?
File Manager looks very nice.
Flashlight seem to be to work with the flash non existing on Tattoo, therefore might be removed.
HTC Market??!! Anybody can comment on this app?
What is that Kaixin widget? Some more chinise stuff? There is a Widget all in chinees I couldn't figure out.
Stocks FC always.
Very responsive; Being a ROM with a few hours of live, obviously it is not perfect; however, I think it's already enough to prove wrong that idea of Froyo+SenseUI on Tattoo is too heavy...
I'll keep trying and commenting.

Thanks for all the feedback, some obvious, but i simply didnt check up on them.
ill clean up the rom for the next update, and hope to have better hw support.
the market and "Stocks" problems seems to relate to some Internet access function so when site is not responding the app crashes somehow, according to log files, maybe wifi is not perfect.
anyways, im testing if "tiny" gapps works differently, and with gapps the "NetworkLocation.apk" and Googlebackuptransport do not install at all, so that annoys me too.
flashlight app + CN apps goes away...
Ive added a very nice "Files" app from milestone, which gives you the option to copy from windows fileshares very easily. (not sure if its legal to do)
ill also test if my deodex'd ACE rom googleapps works better, although they are HDPI based :-( but scaling seems to take effect here on 2.2 , so maybe it will somehow work. as gapps are compiled for senseui, which might be why the CM6 gapps crashes?

Not sure why its always "V'd" , but if you enable it with APN correct settings its not the same icon at all, so maybe its the way of showing your actual network state? i used as similar approach on milestone froyo, when i found out how to hack the smali code and include new code to add new status bar functions, but it is not like i would do it. I added "E" og "3G" on top of the link signal , where this one seems to show network data enabled (as you concluded).

I have to deodex the rom to fix the htc-framework, where settings are included, which means it will be even slower, so for now ill keep it as is.
deodex'ing is nice for graphics mod's, but speed is actually better with odex'd roms.

I used SuperFroYo one.
Then I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to fix WiFi...
I have ported the Gratia ROM a few days ago using the XDA kitchen. I used the kernel from CM nightlies. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and SD card didn't work at all. Ale Ba advised that the Gratia and the Legend are using different wireless chipset so I think that is the major problem. However this ROM is very fast and snappy for Sense ROM.

But since U use Legend's kernel from CM, the above doesn't apply to U any more. U have driver available. WiFi firmware is also available, so are all config files...
Of course you have to have some knowledge in how stuff works. Kitchen won't help you in such cases, porting is not just putting Gratia's rom into the kitchen and hitting "cook" button!

OK thanks for the tips I used the porting tools in the kitchen. I will try to find "howstuffworks" and see if the issues can be solved by editing the proper config files.

BlaY0:
Would I be completely wrong if I was to guess that looking in the init.rc of the original 2.1 HTC kernel to see how the wifi is initiated and make the same for 2.2 HTC kernel to get ie WiFi working? .. The reason for me asking is that the 2.2 from this rom must be initialising the firmware/driveres for Gratia's broadcom driver.. Sooo.. if we like 'copy' the procedure from 2.1 on the TI-chipset could there be a chance for this to work in the 2.2?? Or is init.rc a totally wrong place to be looking?
can you add french and azerty keyboard ? and this ROM is root ?
@whitetigerdk: You're right... init.rc is first place to look at. Actually is init.legend.rc. There are services and dynamic kernel configuration bound to Legend and Legend only. So what I would do is comparing init.*.rc from Gratia ROM and init.legend.rc from CM nightly, pull vendor dependent Legend files from CM nightly (configs, firmware, binaries...) and incorporate them into ported ROM. Bofore that I would try over adb shell to acomplish all those things manually (loading WiFi firmware, loading modules, setting WiFi connection with open AP...)...
If there is WiFi working I´ll try it

Jerry, how long should the battery last on this build?
Very impressive ROM! Awesome!!! Thank you jerrytan93!
Hi Jerry, can you confirm the battery charging status? I've plugged in the charger but don't see it charging. I've tested plugging the charger in WinMo and then booting into TwizDroid and the result is ok!

I'm using Turbo kernel in this build, so it will have the charging problem if you dint plug in charger before booting Android. If you want to change kernel with fully working charging then you can change Midnight's kernel or XDAndroid's kernel.
About the battery life, I can't really test it properly due to my old battery.. (fully discharge too much while running Android before)
Thank you for this new ROM, for me the best so far
1. Feels smooth and stable
2. Wifi, GPS, BT working OK
2. Nice new font and launcher
3. More free memory (116 MB)
4. Battery life seems to be a bit better
5. Faster unlock screen and gallery
Not working for me:
- network location (via GPRS network) in maps
- Angry birds crash to launcher
If kernel will improve, this could be a candidate for nand version
Congrats, your job is magnificent.
I've tried the rom and I have a doubt. Have you noticed that Market (old versión) continue updating despite of disable the updater? I couldn't check it in the new version because it's the last. It is so strange.
On the other hand, I had a problem between v3.3.11 and wifi. The new version disable the wifi interface and you have to turn on again to download anything from the Market.
great job jerry
I am impressed

The older version of Market should not have any problem with disabling the updater, I had tested by my own and no problem with it.
The latest Market had a interference with the Wifi, sometimes is because you are downloading too many apps at once, but anyway I think this is the reason you had change back your Market in GoDroid to v2.12 am I right?

capacitive button backlight not working...3G not working for me too....
Possible Fixes
Backlight
The buttons by default are off to save on the battery. If you go into System settings < Display < Brightness < Check Automatic brightness, it will turn back on the buttons.
3G
You can try commenting out the following lines in the build.prop as you guys don't need them as you are on gsm.
#ro.ril.def.preferred.network=4
#ro.telephony.default_network=4
#ro.telephony.ril_class=LGEQualcommRIL
#ro.telephony.ril_prl=61007
Camera
As for Camera, you can try and flash tjstyle's camera.zip file. Right now our kernel 2.6.32.9 does not work with the camera. I have tried to use tj's kernel 2.6.35.7 and 2.6.35.14 kernel on our phone but still not booting but your guy's old stock 2.6.32.9 kernel does work from edowar's beta 4 of CM9 on our phone.

i think you need using are new recovery base tj-syle recovery 5.0.2.7
I tried to install the recovery.img but it didn't work. I currently have 5.5.0.4 from Mantera on my Triumph. I will try and install 5.0.2.7 from our site tonight and see if I can get the kernel to boot, it makes no sense at all why it won't boot on our phone. I even connected with ADB it doesn't show anything as the device never connects. Will see what I can come up with.
i will check it at framework and phone.apk

The problem is the phone doesn't even boot so I can't even connect to get a logcat. I will try the files you sent me but I don't think they will work as we have tried adding the libs before but I'll give it a shot

After change the setting, the button backlight works but with a very dim light. I've seen somewhere in this forum that you can set the button brightness manually. Can someone help me please?

Sorry elol..didn't mean to push you or something. Maybe I'm just not being patience Sorry once again. What I can say this is one promising ics rom. For the first time on all of ics roms, Real Racing 2 didn't FC on this rom:good:
Great Rom -Feedback
This is really a great rom
1. Gaming improved a lot
2. free ram
3. stable
Here I like to mention how to get good amount of free ram and good multitasking
1. Install v6 supercharger
2.Make widget for engine flush on desktop and use it to drop cache
3.Use Task manager ( Both give me upto 200mb free ram)
4. in developer option keep background activities to 1
5. For other tweaks like black screen after call, smoothness, response and other tweaks use pimp my rom.( it really give good results)
6. Keep minfrree task killer to 100mb (use v6 supercharger.
For faster connecting camera use the apk I posted in general thread.( It is much more responsive.
And as a general tip
If your memory card is not being formatted for a long time and lots of deletion and addition is done.Do a slow formatting as it will help apps to read data from card faster (as it became fragmented over the time )
Elol
Great Job Man but I still know that you will find some reason to update it
