In worst case scenario>Shut down the phone>hold the right and left silver buttons and one small press on the home button on the top...
It is hard reset> IT WILL WIPE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE>CONTACTS, SMS, PHOTOS (IF THEY ARE ON THE PHONE MEM)
iT has nothing to with the things on your mem card> So don't worry!

I just got my phone and i put some files on it, i wanted to get rid of them but since it was a lot of them i figured i go to Settings>System tab>Clear Sorage> and selected Clear storage and format internal storage. from the drop down window and went ahead and pressed yes. The phone restarted and i had to do all the settings over again(which i was expecting), To see if i succeeded i went back to Settings> System tab>Memory>Storage Card tab, and there i seen the following Total storage card memory: Not installed. I tried soft resetting the phone and that did not work, i tried to do the hard reset but the hard reset does not work, all my phone does is it restarts(and i followed the instructions : hold down vol. down and enter key, than tap reset button under battery cover) and i tried this countless times. So that did not work either. If anyone have any idea, on what i can do? The phone is from sprint and i cant access the rom update from the htc website. I'll take any suggestions at this point. Thanks
When you do the Volume Down, Center button, Reset you can also choose to erase your NAND as well (I think Volume Down instead of Up).
If this does not help - try installing another ROM and do the same again.
If that doesn't help, I'm out of ideas. Sorry, I'm no expert. :-(
i had the same iusse awhile back. heres a quick soultion taken from http://http://forums.intomobile.com/htc/49834-htc-touch-diamond-internal-memory-problem.html
1.connect your phone to the pc and choose the disk drive option instead of active sync.Open the computer folder and u should see only one option as as external drive or something like it.
2.right click on the folder and see its properties.U should be able to see that it istill has its 3.7g memory showing. If not u will see it on the next topic.
4.Right click on the storage folder and choose the option FORMAT.
5.U will do the full format of that storage not the quick one.On this level u should see on the format window that the 3.7 g is there right?
6.If not disconnect the phone and connect to the pc again till u see it.
Is just unbeliavable that we as costumers have to come up with the solutions for these stupids issues.SHAME on u SPRINT and HTC.
7.Once u start formating it will take about 10 to 15 min to finish.Dont touch your phone till it ends, just leave it connected to the pc.
8.Once is done u go to check where u usually saw the NOT INSTALLED stupid message and find out that the 4g is back.It should be ,if not soft reset your phone.Or start over.
9.Its not over yet.It will show internal memory 2 now and on the device information on your phone it still not reconize the 4g on the internal storage list on HARDWARE.its ok for now.
10.Now u will perform the HARD RESET on your phone using the clear storage option on settings.Pick the Clear storage and format internal storage option before typing 1234.Ok now once u started the hard reset it shows a quick error message as unable to locate storage or something like it.Dont worry about it.
Once the phone start up again go to the device information and see it is back to normal and there is not internal storage2 anymore ,only internal storage.
Now u are back in business again.I hope this information helped u and i thank the guys who discovered it.Not the HTC or SPRINT who didnt know how to fix this.BIG SHAME and please come up with the new ROM already so u dont get people wasting their time with stupid issues.

Hi all,
I have a problem and can't seem to find a solution. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I was running my I9000M on UGJK3 and just today I installed Kies onto my pc. Also inserted a fresh formated mirco sd card into the phone. I began using Kies to transfer some movies. I tried to send over a .avi clip that was only 2 mbs but it would freeze the transfer when the bar was nearly done. I ended up closing the application via. ctrl/alt/delete. I tried it about 2 or 3 times and no luck so I was going to try it again some other time. Now normally I would close kies by hitting the home button on my phone or disconnecting first with Kies on pc but this time I accidentally pulled the USB out before any of it. My phone is pattern locked and when i was pulling out my USB my finger touched the screen and even though it was the incorrect pattern, it still let me in. Mind you it was still scanning media. I thought it was weird so I pressed the power to off screen and tried to input my pattern to see if it would let me in. This time no luck and after a numorous attempts, still no luck. It asked for my google account info. which i put in and it would only be stuck on "checking" and the screen would fade and return to the pattern lock. With no luck, i tried turning the phone off and removing my ext. sd card, battery pull and rebooting. Now the screen will just go black after the fancy S symbol galaxy S intro screen. the back button and menu button light up but doesn't boot into home screen.
My 3 button still works and i tried to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache...no luck. I used odin and booted up download mode and flashed JK3 in again and wiped data, wiped cache before even rebooting. Still nothing after the S screen. I noticed that in recovery screen, the bottom has yellow and red text saying
update media, please wait
E:Can't mount / dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(I/0 error)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed.
Does anyone know what may be wrong with my phone? Please help...
Thanks

Hi, PLZ HELP ME! i just have run the Hard-SPL v1 on my xperia x1, and it was all fine, but then, i Used the KovskyAdvancedRUU (Task29 mode) in order to fix broken sectors of internal memory, and the process ended OK... but my X1 have restarted, and now,i dont go further than de "Sony Ericcson" screen when i shut it on.... If i go to the BOOT screen, It just stay in the "colours" screen.. (I have the Micro SD whit the ROM named kovsimg in my device.... so, PLEASE HELP! im kind of newie....
ALso, i just have formated the Micro SD card into FAT32, and have the room in the root...
You have done all things correctly until now.
1. Can you check your ROM name at your PC whether is 'kovsimg.nbh' or 'kovsimg.nbh.nbh'? (Correct name should be only one .nbh) I guess you renamed it to double .nbh already.
2. After confirm the ROM name is correct, remove the battery and insert memory card.
3. Put back the battery then press the volume button down, and power button together and HOLD BOTH BUTTONS UNTIL TRI COLOUR SCREEN APPEAR
4. If your ROM name is correct then it should start installation.
Hope this works for you..
HAve done it like 4 times... i checked and everything was allright... i tried with 3 different micro sd and nothing happened.... At the end, i just bored of triyng with the micro sd, and installed the rom with the cellphone connected to the pc (using the RUU kovsky)... but still dont know what goes wrong with the SD....
have you pull out the usb cable from pc when in the boot screen (after you finished perform task29)?
Hi,
sometimes i see on my screen "sending..." (white letters in black rectangle)
Also wakes my phone up. Using BBS i did not find anything.
This happend on N1X Rom, than on Paranoid 3.99 was OK. And now on Sweet v11.1 again appears.
Do you know what is it for?
Second things:
After format internal card and format all before install new ROM a have still some ringtones 2x or 3x.
Format all(system, data, preload) did not delete all?
How is possible more clean phone befor new ROM? (going back to GB...?)
Thank for your advice.
The media files are under /system/media/ not only on external sdcard.
To your pop up, it is normal. Custom based roms prevent screen wake after it has just been turned off. The only way You can change it is to turn off the notification.
Sent from note, a phone like never before
Hi, thanks for your answer.
Ok, i wrote format internal card but i meant format the 16gb flash card via window explorer. All media files are under the system, but this should be deleting through the new rom. Isn't?
I don't understand the sending... is normal.
Before I had 4 custom roms and I have never seen it.
TL ; DR: Splash stuck on restart, "Mount attempt 1/2/3/4/5... Unable to mount SD card message" in recovery mode, need to access storage to retrieve files I'd rather not lose, is there any way to plug into a computer with the device in boot or recovery mode to access my files?
Long verson:
I haven't rooted my phone or downloaded any weird or strange apps. I didn't recently update or load or add or install anything new to my phone, nor did I drop it hard. Nothing new or different happened, I just decided to restart my phone before bed, and now it doesn't work. The HTC ONE splash pops up, then the AT&T logo appears: Typically it goes through a small animation, but now instead it's just the logo and an animated glare practically indiscernibly moves a couple of pixels across the logo (like it's a lagging GIF). Before the glare moves completely across the logo, the phone restarts and the so does the process.
I can access recovery mode and when I do I get the "Mount attempt 1/2/3/4/5... Unable to mount SD card message". So I guess the only thing left for me to do is try factory reset, but there are a couple files I want off the device if I can manage that. I was hoping to be able to USB plug into my computer into recovery mode and access the storage like a portable hdd but I can't figure out which mode to go into or if its even possible.
Suggestions?

do you have a custom recovery installed? If yes you can use adb pull to copy your file to your pc.

nope, he doesn't the message "Mount attempt 1/2/3/4/5... Unable to mount SD card message" is stock recovery
EDIT: and if he unlocks bootloader using HTCdev, that will completely wipe his phone, I know you know, but the OP probably doesnt

You're right, I didn't know that.
I just finished going into recovery mode and wiping data/factory reset option anyway, giving up accessing the files I needed, and the same thing is happening. HTC ONE logo, switch to AT&T logo with a laggy glare animation, auto restart and the process restarts again. Is there anything I can do to allievate this problem?
