Someone double cheak for me please...

I'm just trying to see if I have this correct...
I have a rooted phone with JF1.5 dp1
Radio 1.22.12.29
SPL 10.95.3000
I want to update to Caynogen Rom..
These are the steps I'm going to take...
Partition SD for a2sd
Update to Caynogen Recovery
Flash radio: 2.22.19.26I (If there is a tutorial on this?)
Flash SPL: 1.33.2005
Then finally wipe and flash Caynogen Rom v3.6.2
Is there anything I'm missing?

Nope that's pretty much it. You do not HAVE to flash the new spl..1.33.2005. Not required. to flash the radio just rename to update.zip and flash normally like you would do with a ROM. From my understanding the only 3 things you MUST do, are upgrade the radio to the latest and wipe and flash. CM works w/o Apps2SD and the recovery image is not a requirement. However your approach works perfectly so go for it Careful with the SPL though.

If I don't HAVE to flash it then why should I bother?
Is there any advantages/disadvantages to doing or not doing it?

You don't need to. It's only needed if you want to get a hero ROM onto your phone later on. It gives you ~30 more mb on your /system. So instead of a total of ~72 mb internal you have about roughly 90+ internal.

But if Im doing A2SD the internal memory shouldn't be a problem?

Yup. So just follow the steps you listed but take out the flashing of the 1.33.2005 SPL

what is haykuro death spl

I use hard spl. But some roms are for death spl. Any advantage. To using it?

as far as i know, it is the spl from the magic/sapphire and it frees up more space in /system and /data and i would assume takes some from /cache.
since it clears up more space in /system it allows you store more stuff in there which is what the hero roms do.

according to your sig you have the danger spl which is the 1.33.2005 spl, i am confused

Search some please. This SPL can brick your phone and some top notches around here have even bricked their brand new phones after getting a replacement because they have just bricked their last phone.
Besides, I think most hero roms use apps2sd so you don't need the death/danger SPL. (off the top of my head)

My advice is to only flash the "Danger SPL" if you intend on trying Hero.
Otherwise just use Hard SPL.
You can use the link in my signature if you wish to proceed.
However you will not be able to flash any nandroid system.img backups on top of that SPL which means that once you flash that SPL you need to start with a wipe and a fresh ROM. You can always flash your userdata with fastboot afterwards to restore your data.
Things you may want to get before starting:
Latest radio (MUST!)
Cyanogen's 1.4 Recovery
Full ROM update (ie Cyanogen's 4.0.4 rom)
Partition your class 6 (suggested) sdcard to FAT32/EXT3/Linux-Swap (type 1) for HERO roms.
Yes it's a lot of work for a noob but it's worth it as long as you don't brick your phone (high risk if you don't follow instructions).

You're incorrect, the hero app and app_s folder are on the SD but the system remains in NAND. The Hero system is too large to fit with Hard or Eng SPL and the Haykuro SPL is a necessity.

I'm assuming this is on a G1? If so, just make sure you have the requirements to flash the "Danger" SPL as it can brick your phone and also flash the radio FIRST!!!!!!!!!

Unlike stock, both HardSPL and 'Danger' (It's actually 1.33.2005) feature fastboot, but 1.33.2005 repartitions your nand so you have more room in /system and /data so your phone can accomidate Hero/Rogers ROMs which require the extra space.
If you want Hero, then you must have 1.33.2005. Before you flash it, check your baseband band version in Settings > About and make sure it ends in 26i. Also boot in to the SPL (home+camera) and make sure you have a PVT board phone. If you meet both of those requirements then flash it and you should be fine. Afterwards boot in to recovery, type 'ums_enable' and copy your ROM to the SD card, after wards type 'ums_disable' then 'reboot recovery' and wipe then flash your ROM.
Also if you're using cyanogens recovery, use alt-s to flash the radio or SPL (Radio first) then home+back to reboot. Do not touch the trackball or it will not flash properly.

so if I am just going to use themes then I really don't need to do the hard spl or the other one?
I assume it doesn't change the speed of the phone at all either?

You didnt say which spl/radio you have either.Also only hero roms need that spooky/haykuro spl every is scared of

Partition SD Card with RA Recovery for CyanogenMod

Hi,
since yesterday my phone is rooted and the newest RA Recovery+CyanogenMod is installed.
Now i want to partition my SD Card expedient to use APPS2SD...
But i don't understand what the meaning of Ext2 Ext3 etc....
And how should i expedient partition them???
When I partition my SD Card use CyanogenMod APPS2SD automatically or do i have to activate it anywhere???

Okay junior... most of your answers can be found by reading first.
But to answer your questions if you want to add an ext partition you would do so from the Amon_Ra recovery and by doing so you will lose some storage capacity but you will enable the a2sd capability. Ext 3 is better than 2, Ext 4 is theoretically better than 3. If you want to use a rom that requires the "Danger SPL" or otherwise known as "Haykuro's SPL" or "Death SPL", I would use caution because if you don't follow d-i-r-e-c-t-i-o-n-s p-e-r t-h-e l-e-t-t-e-r then you will end up with a B-R-I-C-K and then you will be S.O.L.

Flashing work, but on the T-Mobile G1 screen the phone stuck...

I'll break it down for you.
You need the danger spl to use the mlign hero roms and eclair roms.
Ext3 or ext4... doesn't matter. Stay at ext3 because it's one less step for you and it's more compatible with other roms than ext4.
Danger spl - reading = brick
Danger spl + reading = ~10mb of free space in /system useful for flashing hero/eclair roms.
Nandroid Backup before a flash = good
-Backup before a flash = future wipe
And to get back to cyanogen's rom try this:

If that doesn't work then wipe the ext partition and wipe your system from the recovery menu. Flash the recovery.zip and then flash the CMUpdate.zip (4.2.10.1 in this case.)

dude... everything you want is in my signature.
any rom should run on the danger spl but once you get the Danger SPL installed do NOT flash another radio because it will likely brick your phone.
most hero and eclair roms won't run as smooth as say Cyanogen's. This is because it is also requiring constant access to the sdcard's ext2,3 or 4 partition AND a swap partition. the higher speed of card that you have (class 2 is usually unmarked, others will be marked with a 4 or a 6 in the corner) the better results you will have in your rom.
In regards to the community hero mix... I am a co-contributor to the theme. It is maintained mostly by Nabzilla1990 but he usually takes a couple of days to release his updates. I release mine within a couple of hours (normally).
My advice is if you want the look and feel of Hero with a fast and stable rom and without the risk of bricking... go for a Hero theme instead. But nothing can pair up with a Hero rom when it comes to the SenseUI. Just beware of the facts that there is no bluetooth for it yet and it gets sluggish after a few hours and will need a reboot.

the spl doesn't make a difference in your phones stability or speed.
hero's bluetooth does not, has not, and will not work. hero senseui IS hero's gui.

What are you even asking?
Cyan uses no themes

Sure with CM Update you can install/apply themes...
But how do i apply back to default theme without reflashing???
Or isn't there any possibility???

Cyanogen doesn't use a theme. So to back to default (grey bar and launcher etc) you would need to reflash. If you want to try another theme then you would have to download the theme to the root of your sdcard and flash that one. But beware! If you flash Cyanogens rom (to be rid of the theme that you don't want or can't use) you may have remnants of the previous theme on top of the one that you just flashed. There is also no promise that your phone will even start up. Best bet is to:
ALWAYS perform a nandroid backup before flashing ANYTHING. No exceptions! This way if something doesn't work, you can just flash back like nothing ever happened.
Flash Cyanogens latest rom again and try a different theme.

Hey i have partitioned my sd card using various methods.
But i cant find where's the ext partition.
In my phone and pc sd card is showing lesser storage space but not showing the space that is been used for ext and swap.
Please help.

Hey all, I've been rocking CM5 anySPL by Firerat, but it has some memory issues on my G1, so I've been looking to upgrade to CM6, and hopefully improve speed as well. Unfortunately, I decided to flash the HardSPL onto my system instead of Danger/DeathSPL when rooting it (I have no clue why, probably just naive).
Anyway, I'm looking to get Danger/DeathSPL on my system so that I will be able to enjoy CM 6, and would like some help with putting it on (I don't want to brick my phone!). And I do have the latest radio flashed on my system.

Go with the new mtd-partition method from Firerat and you will not need to have DangerSPL installed. It's more flexible and more secure.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for you to be messing with your SPL.
IN FACT, if you want the best storage allocation possible, you will end up using a partition table that doesn't match ANY known SPL.
Specifically, though the 1.33.2005 SPL recommended by CM does reduce the size of the cache partition and expand both the system and userdata partitions, the cache partition is STILL way bigger than it needs to be!
With a custom partition table, which you can achieve with ANY SPL (including the one you already have), you can have a system partition the same size as the 1.33.2005 allocation, and a userdata partition that is FIFTEEN MEGABYTES LARGER than the 1.33.2005 allocation.
When dealing with CM6, unless you apply extra hacks, you will end up being stuck with froyo2sd for installing applications to the sdcard. Froyo2sd is a terribly slow bloated memory hog of a pig and will slow your phone down to being virtually unusable. The more space you have on the userdata partition, the fewer applications (possibly zero) you will need to install to froyo2sd, and the faster the thing will run.
I ***HIGHLY*** recommend that you DO NOT waste your time with 1.33.2005. It is not required, not useful, and has the potential to cause actual HARM.
The SPL that I **DO** recommend is 1.33.2003 (ending with a THREE). This SPL is FULLY COMPATIBLE with your phone and if you currently have a 0.95.x000 SPL installed (hspl that you have is 0.95.3000 with a modified version string to add in a "1" at the start), then you can install it with ZERO RISK. The 1.33.2xxx series of SPLs are HIGH-engineering SPLs offering you the ability to fastboot flash the radio image. The 0.95.3000 SPLs are MILD-engineering SPL -- they offer fastboot, but limit the partitions accessible in that manner... the ability to fastboot flash the radio can be useful later on when/if it comes time to update the radio image.
