I'm not sure if i follow.
Do you mean download a rom from the windows section and rename it androidinstall and put it in the andboot folder? Tried that. My PC wont recognize the device under activesync because it isn't windows mobile.
Has anyone tried switching back to WM?
Thanks

rename the nbh file from one of the windows rom,
put it in /sdcard like for android one
flash it like android.
or
boot the phone in 4 color mode
start the customruu in windows of the selected rom.

bootloader, wince rom or extended rom ?
I don't advice to flash the bootloader (but it is possible)
The wince rom should be flashable,
but nobody have tested the code.
extended rom can't be flashed because there is no linux driver for DoC G3 so far.
i doubt the windows flashing utility will work in Wine emulator, but haven't tried

Don't try 8)
i want to give WM5 a spin, so yes, that means wince + extended.
where can i find the code for that?
and if something goes wrong, can i still recover with windows flashing proggie?
not extended, that is done manually as noone knows how to re-compile an extended rom image
cr2,
so how do you flash it from linux?

Well I tried to make it as simple as possible mate. And pretty much the rom by itje is as simple to use as possible.
I've always thought USPL sounded easier than a Hard-SPL. I just have the Flash Center on my desktop and change out the files in the RUU folder for new ROMs I want to try (On my second ROM now).
And don't forget David's Herald to Wing KB fix. David's pretty much a god to Wing users for the most part.
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3.
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.

There's the link for a USPL.
Then pick out a ROM (I also suggest Touch-IT Vista, who needs a dull grey theme when you can have colors) and extract the contents to the RUU folder in the USPL's folder. Then run the exe in the USPL's folder.
That's pretty much how I do it, and follow the on screen steps.
Oh and make sure you're connected via ActiveSync 4.5 and NOT on Vista (I've never had success in Windows Vista).

HELP: Flashing CHT9110 (P3600i)

I really need all the expert out there to help me on flashing my CHT9110. I'm not sure if flashing CHT9110 is the same as flashing P3600i?
Anyway there is an instruction post by ajajaj and credit to Olipro for the great help. I follow every step stated by ajajaj but still I couldn't get my phone flash to WM6.1, therefore I'm pleading for help here.
Step 1 - Anyway First of all, load the Hard SPL to your phone from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398742
Click to collapse
From my understanding I need to download the Hard SPL, but what does it mean by load the Hard SPL to your phone? Does it mean I unzip the hard spl and double click ROMUpdateUtility.exe on my PC? I tried to double click anyway and my phone boot to tri-color mode, there my phone get disconnected, doesn't matter I press power, camera button, and push the reset button and my phone start in tri color, again I run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and this time it run and finish 100% but after that it return an Error[270] Image corrupted.
Then I ignore this first step and proceed to following steps
Step 2 - So, what I did was to download RUU_TRINITY_WM6.1_WWE_ASIA_3.12.YK.Lite extract into its own folder (Mary seems to work as well)
Click to collapse
Yes I downloaded
Step 3 - then download the custom ruu updated from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295113 - also get the rombaker for trinity as found further down in the post.
Click to collapse
Also downloaded
Step 4 - unzip the custom_ruu stuff, put in the downloaded trinity rombaker to replace extracted rombaker,
Click to collapse
I unzip the rombaker and custom ruu. I overwrite the rombaker into custom ruu/workshop folder
Step 4a - Copy ruu_signed.nbh file that is found in folder created in Step 2 to the rombaker/workshop folder created in step 4
Click to collapse
I copy the ruu_signed.nbh from WWE_ASIA folder to custom ruu/workshop
Step 5 - then use nbhextract (created in step 4) to extract the ruu_signed.nbh file that is now in the workshop folder
Step 6 - watch the output. (for file names)
Click to collapse
I extract it and get 00_OS.nb as output
Step 7 - Run the rombaker program and load the extracted files into their places (as referred to in step 6), then click generate NBH
It will ask you to save a file. call it new_nbh (or whatever you want) -
Click to collapse
I run the rombaker and I fill IPL, SPL, OS, ExtROM, GSM, SubSplash, MainSplash with 00_OS.nb and name the file called new_nbh. So I get new_nbh.txt as the output.
Step 8 - open this file (created in step 7) in notepad, and change the number 400 (about 5 lines down) to 401 save and exit
Click to collapse
I open with text editor and change the last line to 401 from 400 as below

600,00_OS.nb
601,00_OS.nb
900,00_OS.nb
300,00_OS.nb
401,00_OS.nb
Step 9 - then open a dos/cmd/command.com window (whatever you want to call it), cd to the rombaker/workshop folder and then run the following:
nbhgen new_nbh.txt
NOTE: new_nbh.txt should be the same as the filename created in step 7

I did exactly been instructed here

I copy the ruu_signed.nbh from workshop folder back to RUU_TRINITY_WM6.1_WWE_ASIA_3.12.YK.Lite folder and run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
After all the next next thingy, it turn black and doesn't go into the tri color. Tried to push power, camera, and reset button and boot in tri color, run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe again it stop at 1%
Can anyone tell me where I went wrong?
Thank and appreciate all your help.

First up you are way ahead of me in getting to the stage where you have been able to modify the nbh, well done.
I am not sure this ROM works even after being modified, but you can give it a go.
To flash the modified ROM.....first put your phone into bootloader mode...ie camer..power and soft reset. It should come up with the tri-colour screen and show SPL Olipro 3.2. something. If it doesnt show Olipro then the Hard SPL you did earlier didn't work.
If it does...connect back to your PC via the USB cable and then run ROMupdate. It will then go through and flash the phone.
All the others have said this ROM flashes and then hangs at the boot screen.
Good luck...let us know how you go.
don't use that ROM... it doesn't work
go HERE to see the ROMs that have been tested and work with the P3600i
there's only 2 (tested) ones there, but at least they work
if those ROMs don't work, i don't know what will - i've tested both myself and they work fine
like andych said, make sure your bootloader (3 colour screen) says Olipro 3.2 on it, to make sure you have HardSPL... otherwise you haven't put that on yet - if you haven't do it again, then flash with a ROM from the link i gave
If I run the ROMupdate when I'm in WM it show
TRIN100
IPL-1.00
TRIN100
SPL-olipro 3.20
But if I boot into the bootloader mode, and I see
TRIN100
IPL-1.00
TRIN100
SPL-3.03.0000
am really confused on how to go about it

I just wanna be sure, with the 2 given ROM, I need not do any changing of 400 to 401, and etc? Just run the ROMupdate and everything will run smoothly?
OK
You need to run Hard SPL again.
Connect to your PC and make sure activesync has run properly and your phone is on.
Open Hard SPL and run the ROMupdate. Your phone will go to tricolour and it will come up with a communication error.
disconnect from PC but leave the phone in tricolour....DO NOT reset it.
Cancel our of the ROMupdate. connect the phone to the pc again and run ROMupdate again.
This time it will go all the way through and you will have HardSPL on your phone.
Check it by entering bootloader and it should show Olipro 3.2.
You can then flash away....make sure you always put the phone into bootloader before flashing.
Let us know how you go.
Ok once I get communication error, I disconnect from PC, cancel the ROMUpdate, then I reconnect to my PC again.
This time do I run the Hard SPL or the rom from ajajaj?
I tried both it however reset my phone to tri color and I dont see olipro 3.2 anymore

Only when you have Olipro 3.2 on the bootloader can you run the ajajaj ROM.
Guess it is really giving me a big headache.
Here is my scenario
My phone is on, I connect to activesync and run harl spl romupdate
My phone boot into tri color mode with SPL-3.10.olipro
Then I get error ERROR[260]: Connection
I exit
Disconnect phone from PC
Now comes the part that seems like only I'm the one facing problem.
I connect my phone back to my pc. My phone still in tri color mode I still see SPL-3.10.Olipro
Now I run the romupdate for hard spl again
I see the loading bar but I'm stuck at 0%, then my phone restart and reboot in tri color, now I see SPL-3.03.0000
Alright fine, I reboot on my phone connect to pc run hard spl romupdate till I get Connection error. Now I close romupdate and disconnect from PC.
I reconnect and run the ROM Mary instead. Again failed.
Did I miss any step? Or those are for P3600i and not CHT9110? Any different?

That's odd. I did what you did - I tried the first time, it failed with the 260 error. I kept the phone in bootloader, disconnected it from the PC, exited and restarted the HardSPL flashing program, and put my phone back in WITH the bootloader still on after that error the came up.
This second time, it worked for me.
If what I have just described does not occur with you, then you cannot flash any ROMs. You MUST succeed with HardSPL first. I don't know what is going wrong for you, I'm sorry Are you using Vista? I only tried on XP.
Also! Watch the screen of your phone the first time you try it from activesync, and make sure security dialogues come up and you approve them. I had to allow them ro proceed.

i don't think we can help you any further - hardspl to get into bootloader the first time, you get the error, you run the program again with the phone in bootloader and the hardspl should complete.
then you can soft reset and it should have 3.20 olipro on the 3-colour screen.

Right file?

Hi there! I want to put the LATEST OFFICIAL SW from SE on my X1i. I bought the phone in Switzerland. It would not appear that it is branded in any way. ROM Version says "1.03.939.8" dated "12/21/08", so I suppose that's old. I tried SEUS but it ****s up with the phone identification, displays the screeen for an hour without any changes. Tried multiple times. Now I'm downloading the following: APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_CH_CDF1215-3301_KOV_R2AA008 to flash it using MicroSD.
Is this going to do what I want? I wish to keep German Language and Swiss Keyboard Layout, as well as default apps (Opera, StreamingMedia, Panels).
Your help is very much appreciated!
Yep, it's the latest ROM for Switzerland.
But you have that on your phone already...

How can you tell? I thought a new SW had been released a few weeks ago... And definitely not in December of last year
BTW I got SEUS to work meanwhile. And it indicated current Version is CH CDF1215-3301. So that would match the ROM i mentioned, but not the R2AA008-Bit. I read a lot about R2A being the new one and R1A the old. So what's with that?
And how am I supposed to determine this Version on my phone without SEUS? I don't see any link to the "ROM-Version 1.03.939.8" I get.
Finally, IF this ROM-Version I downloaded equals the one I am currently running, how can I use it for future updates? The file is .image, so would I rename it to kovsky.nbh and Copy to the MicroSD or do I absolutely need the kitchen? And do I get it right that, with a Hardreset, I am doing exactly the same as with flashing the current ROM? And if I flash a newer ROM (Supposing there will be one in the future), will the Hardreset get me back the old ROM or the new one?

There are only two firmware versions and the first had to be released before the phone was released. So December last year can only be the latest firmware.
But to be sure press START --> EINSTELLUNGEN --> SYSTEM --> GERÄTEINFORMATION --> BENUTZERINFO
There should be the SOFTWAREVERSION R2Axxxx
Oh right... Who would associate Userinformation with ROM Version... Didn't even bother to look at it when I had the device info open. Thanks for the hint! Any answers to the other questions?

A kitchen is needed to cook custom ROMs, but you just want to flash an existing ROM.
You rename the image to kovsimg.nbh, place it on the root of your storage card and boot your phone with the volume down and power button pressed.
Then the bootloader asks you if you want to flash the image.
But this only works with official (signed) images, for custom ROMs you need hardspl first.
And do I get it right that, with a Hardreset, I am doing exactly the same as with flashing the current ROM? And if I flash a newer ROM (Supposing there will be one in the future), will the Hardreset get me back the old ROM or the new one?

Nope, that's totally different things.
With flashing a new ROM you place the ROM into the boot loader and with a hardreset you are setting the phone back to the ROM-origin.
Imagine, you have a computer with Windows XP on it -this is similar to your ROM.
Flashing a new ROM is the same as formatting your computer and installing Windows Vista.
Once you have Vista installed and customized the desktop and your files, a hardreset would be the same as reinstalling Vista so all your personalisation would be gone and the operating system would be fresh once more.
The ROM inside the bootloader stays the same when hardresetting. You can't "hardreset back" to an older ROM, you just can "flash back" to an older ROM.

So how do I know I am owning a signed image? I downloaded it from this forum, from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482 I suppose/hope these are signed?
Why do they use .image Extension and not .nbh straight from the beginning? You sure this will work just by renaming? I don't want to question your statement, never, I just want to be sure I'm doing it right if I just rename the file, put it on the card and start in Bootloadermode. I guess, if the flashing failed, that loader ("SPL" or what it's called) would still work, wouldn't it?

Nope, that's totally different things.
With flashing a new ROM you place the ROM into the boot loader and with a hardreset you are setting the phone back to the ROM-origin.

Still it's hard for me to understand, I don't see a direct comparison to PCs here. So when I'm flashing, the phone somehow stores both the "original" state, that is to be used when hardresetting, as a kind of backup, and the state that is going to be used afterwards, where you install your apps and keep your files etc? Or how does that work? What does the device exactly do when I Hardreset?

Yes, these are official images from SonyEricsson. Just put rename it to kovsimg.nbh and put it on the Storage card (everything is explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070)
If the flashing fails, for whatever reason, the bootloader will still work and you should be able to flash the image again.
But to minimize the possibility of an error, the phone's battery should have at least 50% power and you must be sure that the image download is complete (sometimes downloads just stop somewhere in the middle). So verify the size of the file from rapidshare.

Your phone has three stages of memory:
1. The ROM (Read only memory):
In this stage lies the image
2. The internal memory
The operating system installs itself onto this memory after flashing with a new image and starting up the phone.
You can also write and read from this memory.
3. The storage card (if available)
A ROM-Image is a file that consists of the operating system (WinMo6.1 in our case) and all the application that SE wants you to have on your phone (panels, games, office application and so on).
This file is flashed into the phone's memory, the ROM. You cannot change this ROM or write anything in it except flashing it with another ROM-Image.
You can compare the image with your Windows Vista DVD. The DVD is like the ROM inside the phone -the operating system is compressed on it and the computer can't write onto it, just read.
When you switch on the phone the first time after flashing (the same as the first time you switched it on after you bought the phone), the operating system installs itself from the image onto the phone's internal memory (the same as your Windows Vista-DVD installs the operating system on your harddrive). Once this is done, all the other application that are contained in the image are installed too (e.g. Word, Excel, the Panels, Solitär aso.).
Now everything the phone needs to work is on the internal memory and the ROM is left in freedom but the image is still in it.
Now, if you hardreset your phone, the internal memory will be formatted. Everything on it will be erased. After that the operating system and all the applications are installed out of the ROM image onto the internal memory again as described above. It's like the first time you switched on the phone after you have bought it.
From now on, everytime you hardreset the phone, the image out of the ROM is installed. And it's always the same one to the point when you flash a new image to the ROM.
Thanks a lot for this very in-depth and useful explanation! I think I finally got it Thanks again for all of your help! Now it's all clear to me I'm so happy ThX!
As the full official upgrades (R2) have a radio upgrade, then I'd seriously recommend that you charge to 100% before flashing.
Some people don't seem to think it does anything, but I think it makes the battery calibration better. Doesn't hurt either

What's that radio? As I already seem to have R2, I should have that thing too, should I not? How can I tell?

Charge/sync problem

I have read about 10 pages of charging and syncing problems but they weren't like mine. I flashed hardspl 3.34 and then it all went bad. When it is turned on it wont charge from wall/car/usb. When I put it into bootloader, it seems like my computer recognizes it (it asks me if I want to safely remove hardware) but windows mobile device center doesn't say it's connected, nor does it show up in computer. I did a hard reset and all that. It still has original 6.1 rom. Should I flash another spl? Or another rom? Any suggestions? I really hope I didn't f up my tilt. I finally got it after I bricked my wizard a year ago.

Well, if you are in bootloader and you got the USB sign on it you are ok. Try to flash another rom or reflash your stock rom.
Yes bootloader seems to work and says usb. I think what I did was flashed hardspl 3.29 following the directions in the "flashing your first kaiser rom" thread. But when I flashed 3.34, I flashed it using usb and not an sd card like it said. I just want to go back to original spl and rom.

Just look here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
Hope that helps
I flashed that rom and it still does the same thing.

Let's try this one my friend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568 probably you can revert back to the original spl and stock rom
What about these steps?
11. Download pof's SSPL-KAIS.exe and copy it to your phone
12. Run SSPL.KAIS.exe from your phone (make sure you do this on your actual device and not your PC)
I can't do them because my phone won't sync to my computer.

lol, I know that's exactly what I did. I was just saying, that I think that has something to do with it not charging and syncing. I'm not sure though, because I'm not a pro at flashing and all that. I can rebuild an engine, but I can't flash a stupid rom on a phone . Whatever I have to do to fix it, will have to work the next time because I only have about 60% battery left.

You can upgrade SPL via SD but you will need a WM donor phone (spare) or a card reader to format the sd card. Try that and let us know if that worked

My hp laptop conveniently has an sd card reader.
Ok, to install from sd card, I put stock att hardspl RUU_signed.nbh and KAISDIAG.NBH into sd card, pop it in and go to bootloader? Correct?

Follow the instructions of how to flash via sd card from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2741200&postcount=1
Do I have to change the name of the att hardspl to KAISIMG.NBH?
