My phone was getting slow cause I was downloading a lot of apps.
I was thinking of
Going back to stock rom
Master clear
Flash again.
Is that gonna help a little?
Sent from my phone
Yes, it actually does help. Just did it last night as a matter of fact, and I can truly notice a difference. I copied all the stuff on my internal sd card to my cpu. Took out sim and external sd just to be safe. Flashed to stock jf6. Master cleared. Put my update.zip and a rom on my internal sd and flashed it. Let it boot up, then transfered everything back onto my internal sd. Took about a total of 20 minutes.

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I'm frustrated to no end.
I have a g1 running the latest cyanogen mod (4.2.9.1 I think it is). I also have a 4 gig sd card that was partitioned for the apps2sd mod. Everything was running fine until yesterday.
Now, every time I reboot I lose my apps. on the first reboot it will show tat my secondary sd is unavailable, and on the following reboot various apps crash and are unusable, most notably handcent and cm-updater.....
I've tried wiping/factory data reset, I've repartitioned and reformatted my sd card, and I've reflashed my rom.... All the above provide a temporary fix, but when I reboot, everything is gone again!
Can anybody help me?
try using a different rom and see if it does the samew thing. If it does, then its ur sd card. Is it Class 2? 4? 6?

I'm not sure on this... how do I determine?
on your sd card itself it should say Class 6 or Class 4 or Class 2. The lower the class the more your sd card has a chance of wearing out and becoming useless. IF its an old Class 2 Sd card, then its probably dying and its time to buy a new one.
It's a class 4, and not all THAT old... I took it back to stock 1.6. I'm gonna try re-partitioning, re-rooting, and re-modding tonight after work. *fingers crossed*
Ok.... this is ANNOYING!!!
I went back to stock... re-rooted my phone. When I repartitioned my sd card the process went smooth... looking at the sd & phone card storage it displays that I have 3.21 gb total and available... the sd secondary shows I have 457mb total and 398 mb free... this would lead me to believe I got it working properly.... WRONG!!!
Now when I try to open my market, it says this application installed, and its not in my app tray... so I reboot again (no offense to cyanogen, but Im SUPER sick of seeing the logo reboot... I just want my phone to rock like it used to) still no market...
What do I need to do now?
I'm having the same problem, but only when I apply a theme. If I just stay on plain cyanogen its doesn't happen.

You need to flash the stock HTC Recovery image then another ROM of your choice on top of that.
Hi all
Have a Telecom NZ Milestone a853, was running froyomod (about a month old) fine until yesterday when some of my sdcard files ended up in the lost.dir, then more and more, i grabbed what i could via card reader into my pc and put back into phone to format.
Once booted i got the notification that teh sdcard was damaged or unknown format, when i try and format it flashes up on the screen that sdcard is removed. If i leave it for a while i can format on the phone and even copy files at some ungodly slow rate (usb1.1??). And all is fine til i reboot and it misbehaves the same way again.
I have tried 2 cards a class 6 8gb and bought a new class 10 16gb yesterday. both cards are fine in windows and run as fast as the card will allow.
I have tried flashing back to 2.1 with rsdlite which appeared to work however the card needed formatting but there was enough time to copy open recovery across, take a nandroid backup of the phone and flash to 2.2. 2.2 showed a sd card issue but it formatted fine and i copied across the hono 2.3 nandroid image.
2.3 was fine for about 10 minutes and since then it has been back to square 1, sd card sometimes appears but needs formatting and then the transfer rate is slow and the data is temporary.
Firstly had anyone else had the same issue? did you manage to fix it and how?
Nextly where can i find a TNZ XT sbf for my phone cos it looks like im gonna have to flash it back to stock to return under warranty even though i can probably get them to repair it with the custom rom as we have in NZ a consumer guarantees act which trumps all silly manufacturer opt outs, it will still be less hassle to take it back stock.
thanks in advance guys.
+1 for a clean XT nandroid/*.sbf I forgot to backup before I flashed...

I had this issue with my first milestone. It still works (handed down to an employee) but i had to switch the sdcard.
I dont know if you have the same issue...but i would try another card.

I had the same issue with my milestone microsd. I ended up fixing it by formating the card via laptop instead of the phone. Don't do a quick format, do a full format instead.
Hope that fixes the issue.
Hey guys, I need some advice please. Have had a number of odd happenings with my i9000 in the last 24hrs and not sure if some of them are the fault of the phone, or my fault! Apologies up front too for the long post – didn’t know how to put it all more succinctly!
First things first – it’s a Galaxy i9000M Bell vibrant. Came as Éclair 2.1, upgraded recently via Kies to Froyo 2.2, Build UGKC1. Then rooted with SuperOneClick, successfully without drama. Can get into recovery and download modes no problem via 3-button method.
Bit of background info – int SD 16GB, inserted 16GB ext SD. Before any upgrade to the phone had some issues where some photos taken with camera on the phone would show up in gallery as a corrupted/damaged icon. Pretty sure this occurred on default int SD so changed save location to ext SD but same deal now and then. Formatted ext SD – still happened from time to time. Actually replaced ext SD (exchanged at shop with brand new one), but same thing happened again. Figured I’d learn to live with it as only happened now and then.
So, phone rooted last week. Had been doing reading on ROMs/kernels before trying to flash anything. Only root-type things I’d done were to get TiB (and do full backup), Root Explorer, Terminal Emulator and Wireless Tether. Y’day I noticed after taking a few pics that one of the ‘corrupt’ icons that had previously been in place of an older photo, was now in the spot of one of the pics I had just taken (and strangely, the older, apparently corrupted photo was now fine).
I tried to delete a few of the photos but the phone just got stuck trying to delete. Had to force close it with task manager. Same deal if I tried 1 or many photos. Did this a number of times but no joy. Eventually just took ext SD out, put it into PC and deleted them that way, then put back into phone. Now it took AGES to complete the media scan on ext SD – like 5-10 mins! This happened a couple of times if I tried to do anything with the SD eg. save a file to it. So reformatted the SD card (on PC) but same prob when put back in phone.
Figured it might finally be time to try a new kernel in hope it may fix this bug. Had speedmod all ready to go (but hadn't been brave enough yet to try my first flash) so flashed K13E-500Hz via Odin. It worked fine, but “media scanning” problem was still there. Figured I might as well go the whole hog so factory reset the phone via recovery 3e. Did this ok, and “media scanning” was no longer a prob when I put the ext SD card in, just took a couple of seconds – hooray!
Restored apps + system using TiB which also appeared at first to work fine. Put a few pics and ringtones on the ext SD and all seemed fine. Then some app icons disappeared from the Applications pages. They appeared ‘crossed out’ in TiB and when I went to restore them again the phone spazzed out saying (sorry can’t recall exact wording) there was not enough memory and to delete some things to try to fix this. A red SD-like icon appeared in the top bar. I tried rebooting the phone via recovery 3e and it went into a cycle of vibrating, flashing up the turn-on screen/display then shutting off, but vibrating occasionally and lighting the soft touch keys but nothing else. This did this for about 5 mins and in order to try to save battery/stop the whole process I ended up factory resetting yet again via recovery.
Today it works 'ok'. Have not braved putting an ext SD in yet! Got Tib off the market but have also not dared to try to restore any thing yet. Oddly, in TiB it shows “System ROM” as almost fully taken up ie. Full green bar (289MB, only 6.06MB free) – this can’t be right can it?
Internal, DB data and SD card all show as ~99% free.
Deleted Dalvik cache in case that was the RAM problem but it didn’t do anything much (freed up about 6MB only).
So, my questions!
1. is this all because of the ‘corrupt/damaged’ issues before I’d done anything to my phone?
1b) How do I find out what RAM is available and what is using it all up? RAM manager is showing 197MB/339MB used but is this what the 'memory' problem would be? Clearing memory doesn't seem to do anything.
2. I never installed any kind of lagfix (knowingly anyway) – could this be a reason - have seen lots of threads/posts about disabling lagfix before flashing roms or kernels
3. I thought factory reset would wipe everything – but it obviously kept the int SD info ok (I’d copied Tib backup to ext SD and also to dropbox just in case) –should I maybe reformat the int SD and factory reset again?
4. If the issue is the phone itself (with prior corrupt file problem) – would it be worth flashing back to stock kernel and unrooting phone to try to bring back and get fixed/replaced under warranty?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!!!!!!
Read your hole post its really long. Can't answer to all questions. But did you try to put your phone as massage storage to your pc and mark everything thats on int sd and just erease it. When turn your phone off, put it in download mode and flash a stock rom (with 3 files) from samfirmware.com with repartition enabled? Maybe that works. Good luck! Before i forgot ext 4 is the better filesystem. Rfs getting laggy after a while cause its not the correct filesystem for sgs. Thats why ext4 is the main format on sgs2.

hey thanks for the reply.
i know it was a super-long post, apologies again.
didn't try deleting the ext SD whilst connected via usb. got fed up with the phone not being able to delete & freezing when i tried that way so just took SD out and deleted them with card plugged directly into laptop.
as it happens, since 2nd factory reset, i've been cautious about what i do. no ext SD yet (though might try that tomorrow). didn't do full restore of missing apps and system files as i did the first time. so far have only restored about 6apps via TiB and wifi locations. Phone working ok...for now.
next steps:
1. try taking loads of photos to see if 'corrupt'-style icons occur again with int SD only;
2. maybe try an ext SD again after reformatting it and see how the media scanning goes and how it goes having music/vid/pic files on it etc;
3. gonna look more into the speedmod kernel ie. the tweaks which i think i need to access via recovery mode.
not quite ready to try and flash a custom rom with that little scare!
...but would like to try a custom rom at some point when i feel more educated about all this
Just look at the search function on xda or google. There enough guides about flashing. Know how you feel. The first time i flashing it was very scary for me. Got a heartbeat like a technosong. If you want i can write you a guide for every step. Trust me it is easier as it sounds. Just pm me and i will help you out.

So my internal SD card shows i am using 12gb which i know i'm not i manually cleared all the files off saving the ones i wanted. I did a quick format and a full format from the computer it shows 13 gb free but then when i unplug all the files are back on there. Showing 12 gb used, i odin one clicked back to stock and still the same. Attempting to master clear through odin now, but what else can i do if this doens't work? At the time my phone was running cm9. I did flash icy glitch for awhile then went back to cm9 kernel thats when i noticed the issue couldve been before then tho not sure.
Ok first off I have read through a lot of different forums from here and different websites. Could not find a solution.
MY cappy was rooted and I was running cm9 on it for a while working great.. decided to give cm 10.1 a try. Well it worked for about 2 1/2 months. doing the updates that came out every day. Then the other I was playing a game on it. I stoped the game unplugged the phone from the wall charger went outside to smoke and went to check the phone. It was a black screen where it was semi light up though.
I of course tried hitting the power about 15 times no response. So I took out the battery and put it back in. It rebooted into recovery. So I hit reboot phone. Went back into recovery. Went in cleared cache and dalvik cache rebooted. Went back into recovery, so from there I went to install zip from sd card. there was nothing on sd card.
I then put it into download mode and using odin I brought it back to stock 2.3.4 after odin had suceeded it installed everything on phone. But it came with error no internal storage found. It booted fully. So then I tried heimdall one click it then did the same thing I cleared cache and did a factory reset. IT rebooted fully.
It only works when I have my ext. SD card in the phone though. If i pull my ext sd card out it will go into a boot loop. IF i put my ext sd card into another phone and back to my cappy Itll stay in boot loop. I have formatted sd card put it back into the phone and rebooted. and same thing. bootloop. So I then have to go through the process again to get it semi running. It wont read ext or internal sd card when phone is fully on.
So is there any way to get it to read internal storage again? Or even ext. I dont understand why it will run with the ext.
Any help will be appreciated Thank you.

Your issue is kinda odd, the only thing I can think of is the EU bug but that's on ICS and you said you were on JB. Either way, could be worth looking into, there's a thread for it in here.

Well I was on cm 9 then went to cm 10.1 4.2 I have no clue I looked into the EU bug tried to fix it no luck. I can put the sd card on it and flash the stock rom and kernel and it will run just without it reading internal or external sd card
the external sd card has probably got your .androidsecure hidden folder on it, possibly more. if your phone had the eu bug, then CM10 recognizes that and switches the mounts.
if you boot the phone, go into terminal emulator, type su, then type mount, and post the output, it would probably give us a clue.

No the android secure was on the phone, The external sd card was never in my phone but I was trying different things and if i format my sd card put it in the cappy then do the flash. It will work but as soon as I turn the phone off and put the sd card in another phone, It has no files. but when I put it in my laptop it says there is only 5 gb on it but it is an 8gb memory card. Then I have to format twice to get my full memory from it on another phone.
