[Q] need help urgent pls............ - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my i9000 got stuck in galaxy gt i90000 logo....
how to boot it again with diferent rom.......
it can get in to downloade mode......
need help and steps to flash a rom i am from india ........

You can find instructions on www.samfirmware.com. Just go to the rom download page. You will need to create an account first.
Anyway, it's quite straight forward. Open Odin, plug your phone into your PC with download mode on. Put the pit file in pit, the pda file in pda, phone in phone and csc in csc. (Some roms only have a single file instead of 3. That means the phone and csc is combined with pda, so just put that in pda). Leave partition unchecked. Flash.

[Q] Phone is not booting after i have repartitioned HELP!

Ok so here is the problem.
My phone randomly shutdown about a week ago and will not reboot since. Every time i try to start it up it flashes the Galaxy S start screen again and again.I tried the 3 button recovery mode and that wont work but luckily the phone is still able to go into the download mode. I downloaded odin and repartitioned the phone with the 512.pit file and now i need to flash on my firmware but i am not sure what firmware i need to use (as in which PDA, Modem and CSC). I bought the phone in Canada unlocked and i was using it in the UK. I have tried flashing with several files but they didnt work i think i was not using the right combo. So ya the problem is what files do i need to get for the odin flash and what is the correct procedure. I would appreciate the help a lot cause i dont want to pay 40 pounds to get it fixed by some Dodgey phone shop.
Go here http://www.samfirmware.com
I assume you'll have to find a ROM from Canada\US JP2 JP5
Flash with ODIN, re-partition checked, PDA, CSC & MODEM files added from download mode.
Do i need a MODEM and CSC or is just the PIT and PDA file enough to get the phone working. If i need a MODEM and CSC which ones will i need for the JP5 ?
Please Help someone...I have been smartphone less for more than a week now. I just want to know what PIT PDA PHONE and CSC files i need to get my phone working.
Try the instructions in this thread, there's also a video if you need it

how to get back to 2.2 original?

my brother found a couple of roms, they require 2.2, the phone is upgraded to 2.3.3 taken from samfirmware.
how to get back to original rom? i forgot which number was it 2.2 or 2.2.1
You need the rom you wanna be on I.e JPU, JPY etc and Odin, turn phone off and put in download mode, open Odin and connect phone, a yellow box will appear to confirm phone has been recognised, then extract rom (if downloaded from samfirmware.com) then tick repartition in Odin (far left box) then click pit and browse for the file you just extracted and select the .pit file, then click PDA and select, the click PHONE and browse the file for Modem, then click CSC and browse for CSC. Make sure all files are in the correct place, make sure repartition is ticked and when your sure all is well click start
Sent from my CM7 modded I9000. Kernel is one mean son of a Glitch!
does the rom need to have the old boot loader included? or is it always included in roms? ive seen some post like "with boot loader" and "without boot loader"
will new boot loader work on old roms?

HELP!!!

I just tried to flash to DarkCore_2.9.3_JVQ.tar using the Darky Rom and now these blue eyes keep coming up blinking? What do??
I tried factory reset and now the Samsung Galaxy S original startup keeps coming up again and again.... i can still go into recovery mode any help pleaseeeeee
Ok your only chance is to flash stock through odin! Go to this website and download your firmware http://www.sammobile.com/threads/17-Samsung-I9000-Galaxy-S-Firmwares.. Your then going to extract it to your desktop( I find it easier using desktop). Next download odin http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MADK0XTB, then follow this guide http://www.androidgalaxy.net/how-to-flash-a-galaxy-s-phone-back-to-stock/
Once you have that all downloaded open odin, add your PIT file tick re-partition, add your PDA,PHONE and CSC and THEN put your phone in DL mode and connect it... Don't be afraid of the thanks button

i9000 help from cm9

CM9 nice but not ready .... ok, because I'm a noob I have a big problem. I have my new SGS (i9000 3.2.3firmware) with cf-root 2.6 from here (*http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108*). Yesterday put CM9 on it from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363593) .. and this morning I do not like it..*so I open cwm and tap to restore from backup ... now my galaxy wont open again... what can i do now??
and odin can see my phone in download mode....
sorry for my bad english, i can speek only greek and german...
did you have a backup to begin with?
if odin can see your phone in download then just flash another rom
It doesn't work because the stock partitions are different to CM9. Flash a stock version of whatever you had before in odin with repartition, then a kernel. Then you should be able to restore your backup from CWM
As posted above. The partitions between CM & stock are different. I did exactly what you did. With the same result.
You can get a stock rom from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
Once you have a stock rom you need to use Odin to install it. You will need to have all three files & the pit file. (phone, modem, csc, pit - 512).
Make sure Kies is not running & open Odin. Click re-Partition. Click PIT & select your pit file, Click PDA & select file with PDA in name, click phone select file with phone in name, click CSS & select file with CSC in name.
Once you are ready with this start phone in download mode. Once in download mode attach phone to usb cable wait for top left corner to go green & click start.
This can take some time but once complete phone should restart. At this point my phone got stuck (either boot loop or black screen I can't remember)
If this happens don't panic just remove phone from USB & restart odin. Now make sure re-partition is unchecked & select the three previous files again, don't select pit file. Again put phone in download mode (you may need to pull battery first) wait for Odin to be ready & click start. This time when the phone reboots it should start although this can take a little longer than usual.
Once started I always like to reboot a couple times & clear cache & do factory reset in recovery.

[Q] How to downgrade from CM10 to stock GB?

Long story but I need to downgrade my i9000 from CM10 (currently on c-rom bean v2.3) back to stock 2.3.6 and couldnt find anything specific to the i9000 on to how to do it. Can I just get the stock firmware (ie PDA, CSC, Phone) and then flash through Odin? But I read on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729458) that I may also need PIT and Bootloader? If so, where can I download these files??? Any help greatly appreciated!!!!

You have to download any 3 files stock ROM (I suggest you JVS, as JW versions can damage your IMEI), then select PDA, CSC and Phone
in ODIN. You don't have to have bootloader, as it is already in PDA, and yes, you have to have PIT file, it is usually within archive with ROM.
Just flash it and you're done. For download go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837223 and you'll find
there any ROM you want. Hope it will help you.

Thanks for your prompt response. I am looking to go back to stock GB and last time I downloaded them from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881&page=1). I chose XWJW8/XWJW1/VAUJV9/Sbl (CSC: VAU (Vodafone)) as I live in Australia and my provider is Vodafone. But how do I extract the PIT file??
Also out of curiosity, what if I chose the stock rom of another network provider? Does it make a difference??

you cannot extract a PIT File, you can download a 512 PIT file from My Android Collections
If you use telstra , it will not work for vodafone and vice versa as they are branded
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)

Ok. So I take the 512 pit file from your link and also the official GB firmware from Ramad's thread. Then flash using Odin with only PIT, PDA, Phone and CSC. Also "re-partition", "Auto reboot" and "F Reset Time" needs to be ticked. Sorry about being so padantic but just wanted to make sure I get the steps right the first time. Thanks!!!
