My HD7 is stuck on the start-up HTC screen. If left for a few mins. it goes to the screen showing Phone- USB cable -PC and thats it.
I tried hard reset: volume up/down held down + power on/off. No matter how long I hold these buttons down it does not go to the boot loader screen, infact it goes to the same screen as mentioned Phone-USB-PC.
When I hold down volume button + camera +power on/off the tri-colour screen appears for a few seconds but then does to the white screen saying "Enter USB Host Mode"
Zune comes up with error C101002E and trying to flash it with O2 rom the error 260, no comms
Can I do anything to restore this?
I've just found out it has no memory card! Would this stop it from booting past the start-up screen?
Yes I bought it as faulty, so I thought a reset would do it. Its not dead, far from it but I just need pointing in the right direction
Hold volume up + down at the same time and click power once while continuing to hold BOTH volume buttons...
If that doesn't work and u haven't hacked ur fone ibwould call for a replacement .... I'm sending mine back cuz mine is constantly freezing and rebooting by itself

Hi,
Diamond is not going to bootloader (tricolour) screen after MTTY. MTTY was successful but nothing happening after pressing volumedown+center button.
Now device is just showing - Touch diamond when i switch on.
I have diamimg.nbu on internal storage, is there any way to trigger install.
It was working fine before mtty.
Pull battery out to turn it off.
Put it back in.
Press and hold volume down
Press reset button.
The reason its only showing Touch Diamond is that the MTTY process has cleared off your previous OS. You need to get it back to bootloader and try MTTY again.
I have tried all those stuff but no luck, for every thing diamond just vibrates and shows "Touch Diamond".
I guess boot loader is not working, is there any way to connect to it and repair bootloader.
I have tried snoopy from some post but thats also of now help.
Taken from PPCGeeks:
"Hold down the Volume down key and power button, the take the tip of your stylus and press the soft reset button (bottom left corner of phone under battery cover). After you press reset button keep the Volume down and power button press until the bootloader screen comes up"
Let us know if this works.
Thanks Super....
This is not working, only option i see is some way to connect to it through USB because i had faced this problem earlier also but that time RRU updater used to push it to bootloader.
volume down button used to work only with original HTC ROM for me....only a few time it used to work with cooked ROMs....
Hi,
Anyone can suggest some advance tool which can connect to diamond if its not going to bootloader through normal methods.
Its all clear by MTTY, i have ROM image on internal storage.
Solved finally.......
Hold only volume button pressed, press reset button and immediately after that press ok or back button

plug into the computer and run SUES it'll say already have latest version update anyways? click yes
i had to do this when i bricked my phone, (my computer crashed while i was doing the update) it really saved my day.
Here's the problem with my HTC HD7, I have used it for sometime and today I did a reset going to settings->about->reset. The phone came back straight to the home(tiles) screen without starting through the Windows setup screens. It then restarted by itself and after that it is pulling back all of my old contacts, old messages & mails. I also did a factory reset using the Volume Up/down & power buttons but the same story.
Anyone think of what's going on? do you think the internal memory corruption or something?
thanks in advance,
TZ
could try this......
Resetting using the hardware buttons
You can also use the buttons to perform a hard reset. This comes in handy if the screen is frozen and you can’t access the phone.
1. Turn the phone off. If it’s frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.
I have bought a Second hand Ativ S and it turned out to be dev unit, it worked for the most part(occasional crashes), but recently it broke.
After it boots it gets me to a blue screen and then powers off. I can still access the download mode and the system files via USB. But I want to do a factory reset of some sort or at least be able to use it.
Can someone help me out with this? Is there a possibility to re flash it? or is there a combination of buttons i don't know about?

have tried to hard reset the phone by this steps?
If you can't access your phone's Settings page:
1.Turn off your phone.
2.Turn on your phone again by pressing the volume down button until you see the exclamation mark
3.Then, reset the phone by pressing the following four buttons in this order: Volume up, Volume down, Power, Volume down.
4.Your phone should now reset and restart itself. (It might take a while for the process to complete.)
And it didn't work for you? If not you have go to a Samsung store, probably they will flash you a normal OS to your phone...

I've tried that...it didn't work. I've also went to Samsung and apparently it made it worse. Initially my problem had a blue screen after booting but after I took it back from service the blue screen has disappeared and now the phone just powers down after the boot. THe guys at Samsung told me that the don't have the device number in their database and that the cannot do anything to it....so i'm hopping that some tool will pop-up and I'll be able to flash the device from home.
Also being an Engineering unit when I power the device based on your description it doesn't show me an exclamation mark it just goes dark and if i hook it up to the pc it shows as mass USB storage, and I can access the files on it. So there is something i'm missing for this device in particular.
Thanks anyway for your support.
Thank you again Jackson5...Really...Thank you, i've almost lost hope...after seeing your post and replying to it I said ....what the heck...lets try that again, and it worked...not with your steps exactly...I put the phone into a charger and it started to power up...Windows logo power down..and again power up and shutting down....Meanwhile I pressed Up on the volume and the exclamation mark appeared. and from there, suffice to say that I have a phone, again. So Thanks again

Same problem, help...
It seems Ive got the same problem with my Ativ S, I've tried everything and nothing is working...
Sorry, but can you tell me what buttons exactly and in what order did you press to get to the exclamation mark screen, please? I am sorry but I really cannot understand your explanation (your post) very well, you said:
"Windows logo power down..and again power up and shutting down....Meanwhile I pressed Up on the volume..."
Do you mean logo + power or logo + power + volume down or something else? I cannot understand the part "again power up and shutting down" either...
Thanks

If the phone powers down due to blue screen or any other problem you might encounter, connecting it to a power source will make your phone restart...so basically what happens is the Phone powers up reaches the error and shuts down, but because is plugged to a power source it will power back up. So while you are plugged with the device keep pressing those buttons... Having a Dev unit apparently it worked with the Vloume Up ...
-Press the Volume Down Key + Power Key to turn on the unit
- Still hold the volume down key, the release Power Key.
- Wait for the startup screen booting with an exclamation mark " ! " then release the volume down key.
- Press the following buttons in the following order: press the volume up (high volume key) ==> press volume key down (low volume key) ==> press the power key ==> press volume down key.
- Wait a moment and look at the screen, a message such as loading new software will start the hard reset process

Cheers, I'm stuck in here and i can't get further.
My machine is an T899 Engineering version
So my friend sold me his busted HTC One, telling me it wasn't turning on. I took it upon myself to get it fixed up.
It seemed completely dead, but after plugging it in to charge, and holding power + volume up + volume down, I got it to turn on to the HTC screen when charging, then turn off. I can access the bootloader screen by holding power + volume down, but the bootloader screen goes crazy.
The first option will keep selecting itself, then going back and loops like that. If I try scroll down, it instantly selects the thing I scroll to, which is either reboot or power off.
If I select recovery on the main screen, it boots to the HTC logo and turns off.
Not too bummed, as I only payed $35 AUD, but really would like to try get it fixed up.
Thanks!

Sounds like maybe the power button is stuck on. Hence the reason it is auto selecting everything. Also it would cause the device to force reboot.
When it boots to the HTC logo, are the Capacitive back and home buttons flashing at all?

Ahhh I thought that may be the case! Should be a fairly easy repair then. The back and home buttons do not flash at all.
