Installed the market version of open vpn with the CM7 rom. All the config files are correct and open vpn connects. It says connected, but on 3G and wifi the ip does not reflect the newly aquired vpn ip. In other words, there are no error messages and it "says" its connecting -- but the browser remains the same and does not confirm it does.
Also tried the built-in version of open vpn and the "Set CA certificate" does not allow anything to be entered into the field and cannot be changed?
Any help is appreciated.

Hello all,
I just got my Tilt unlocked and seem to be running into a few issues. I setup the WAP settings according to this http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/...thread.id=38077&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
I am get web access in apps like Windows Live, but internet explorer gives me an error that it can't find the page. I ran the disable proxy application built in the att rom and now i get to "connecting..." "locating..." then I get an error message that says "the page cannot be displayed or the downloaded because the connection was lost. check the connection and try again later."
Before I ran the disable proxy I would get a 0x80088000 error msg in pocket internet explorer...
Google maps does not seem to want to download data either...
Full signal and connection works fine on my blackjack... (3G)
Ideas?
I noticed in my old blackjack that inside IE theres an option to chose connection settings. My tilt does not have this?
Any work arounds? SHould I flash to the HTC firmware?
had the same problem...ignored all the settings info and just entered in proxy for the apn and everything worked fine...try it out. ridiculous that the best settings were no settings!!
Is there any way to set a proxy address to Wi-Fi connection?
Or is there a way to add proxy ro IE/Opera/Youtube?
My School WiFi required a proxy to access the net.
Help will be appreciated.
Start Menu->Settings->Connections->Connections
Under "My Work Network", clic on "Set up my proxy server" and then... setup your proxy ^_^.

Yes this is also what I had thought. I have to set up a proxy in addition to the SecureW2 software client that I have to configure in order to connect to my University's Wi-Fi. I can set up SecureW2 fine, it will connect to the network, but I'm unable to set up the proxy properly.
Already tried the method still can't access internet.
Called HTC Tec support just now, they say you can only add proxy for gprs but not WiFi.
Any mod to add proxy to WiFi?
bump.......
This is very important, can anyone help?
Wifi Profiles Tool
Just try WifiProfiles from RStein - very convenient
I tried connecting to my college's WiFi and it didn't work so I called the IT department and they said I have to have a certificate called Thawte Premium Server CA. Is there any way to get this onto the phone so I can use their network? Thanks.
The certificate you reference is already installed in the Diamonds cert store. You can verify this by going to settings>system>certificates.
When you're setting up your WiFiconnection, you need to enable "Data Encryption: WEP", on the "Configure Network Authentication" screen, and then check the checkbox that says "This key is automatically provided". On the screen after that you can then configure your specific certificate settings.
Hey guys,
I used diamond then shifted to Omnia and now back on Diamond.
Diamond was never able to use airtel live and the customer care people used to say that the service is not available to any Windows Mobile Device and i need to buy Mobile Office to use net on my cell. Bull S***..!!
Then i went to Omnia and it was able to run Airtel Live. Damn.. Whats wrong with Diamond then.
For some reasons i shifted back to Diamond and searched day and night to find out the solution. Here it is:-
1. Activate Airtel Live by sending the following SMS to 121: MASALA ACTIVE.
2. The service takes atleast 3-4 hours to get active. Restart the phone and resume configuring.
3. Tap Start -> Settings.
4. Select Connections Tab and tap Connections.
5. Select Advanced Tab, tap Select Networks button to bring up Network Management.
6. Under "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:" drop down, tap the New button.
7. In the General Tab, type the name of the settings as Airtel Live
8. Select Modem tab, tap New...
9. Type the name of connection as Airtel Live, select the modem as Cellular Line (GPRS) and tap Next.
10. Type Access Point Name as airtelfun.com and tap next.
11. Leave username, password and domain blank and tap finish.
12. Select Proxy Settings tab. Tap "This network connects to the Internet". This should enable the next check box option.
13. Tap "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
14. Type the proxy server as: 100.1.200.99 and then tap Advanced...
15. Tap HTTP, leave the server as 100.1.200.99 and change the port to 8080
16. Similarly tap WAP, Secure WAP and Socks, type the server as 100.1.200.99 but leave the port to defaults. These are optional settings.
17. Tap OK to close the Advanced proxy setup screen.
18. Tap OK to close the New connection screen.
19. The network management screen should now list the new connection you have created in the drop-down. Tap OK to close this screen
20. Tap OK to close the connection screen.
And its done. Use IE or Opera and have fun.
Njoi..!!
do leave a "Thanks" if it works out.

gmail problem now !
Blackberry connect, on htc pp300 running onWM 6.1, used to freeze the mobile frequently. After making these changes, there are no more hangs
Now gmail connection has stopped working. I get an error "error synchronizing". I tried both POP3 and IMAP connections. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem.
I've searched the forums and I can't seem to find a solution to the fact that I can't download weather data while synced at work behind a proxy server. I'm able to connect to the Internet from IE and Opera with the correct Proxy information set in my Connection settings tab.
From my home wi-fi or home activesync, I connect fine, because there's no proxy required. Because I don't have a data plan, and I can't get the weather to update through my proxy at work, I'm limited to updates while I'm home.
Has anyone found a solution to this proxy authentication problem? Thanks!
The problem can be related with "Proxy manager". Try to disable proxy, it's in "Tools" section of "Programs".

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, EnergyROM doesn't have a "Proxy manager" folder under "Tools". I did, however, have the cabs for remove and restore hidden proxy. I tested after each install, but had no luck, although all my other Internet apps still connected fine.
The specific error I receive is:
Connection Error
There was a connection error while attempting to download weather data. Retry?

May be your proxy server is banned by weather data provider
It is more likely that the provider is blocked by my corporate proxy. Where do I determine the url used for the weather feed so I can test from my PC?
Edit:
OK. If found the url. It is http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation and I'm able to access it just fine from my desktop to which I'm synced. That puts the problem back to the application, in my opinion.
I suspect it could be related to the information located in the [Sep-14-08] HTC Weather Proxy Patch thread that with this fix, but there have be no updates for for TF3D or sense editions. I'm wondering if no one else is having the problem?
So... nobody else has encountered this issue?
Try AccuWeather.com service.
http://www.htc-touch-info.com/en/weather/
Thank you for you response. But I'm confused. How does changing the location of the server change anything if the weather application can't get out to it in the first place? Here's what I mean. While synced with my PC, I can open the above url in pocket IE and see the resulting xml data. This would mean my phone can resolve and receive data from the url through my corporate firewall, yet the manila weather still receives the 'Connection Error' when using the same address. To me, this suggests that the weather application isn't using the proxy settings specified in 'Settings->Connections->Connections->Edit my proxy server'.
Maybe I'm wrong. if so, perhaps you could explain it to me so I can understand.
Thanks again!
Roger
same here!
Same here, im using the same rom as u and Im having the exact same problem and its driving me nuts cus i really like this rom...but i like the weather updates 2!
If u get a solution pm me plz!
Cheers
no solution till now?
i have the same problem with my HTC TD2, Opera or iexlore are going fine through the proxy settings as i'm connectet via USB at work.
but all other applications don't (wheather update, GPS Tracks, Geocaching,...)
on Android systems there is a solution called TransProxy but not for WM6.5
Udo
There is a program called ProxyCap that has a decent version for Windows Mobile - http://www.proxycap.com/download.html
It's only a 14-day trial though =( But seems to be quite powerful. You could possibly also use it as a rule-based firewall, by forcing a certain port range or exe to use a proxy server that doesn't actually exist
It works well for me, when testing a SOCKS connection to Tor, but it only supports SOCKS4/5 and HTTPS (not standard HTTP) so now I have to install Secure HTTP support on my SQUID server! I haven't touched that thing for months!
