[Q] sgs stuck at startup - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi friend, today i flashed darkeys rom 9.3 but it was not working properly so i restor to 9.2 through cwm recovery but unable to restore. i also tried few other backups i have but none worked. My phone go through restoring backup, and finished with unable to restore. i am on dakreys 9.3 with speedmod karnel withe legfix enable, one more thing when i tried to disable legfix it says could not open lagfix.conf. Please help what to do still 3 botton recovery and download mode is working, should i flash stoke version usin odin? please help and thanks in adv.

Apart from the sensible option of asking the rom developer you can wipe the phone and flash back to stock using Odin if that fails go back to Eclair .

If you followed the instructions to flash darkys rom properly then everything works fine. try again following step by step correctly

it probably would again
why the f* is NO ONE ON THIS forum capable of reading ?
1) flash back to stock via odin or heimdall
2) apply update.zip (clockworkmod / CWM)
3) then from there apply Darkys 8.0 (no-wipe or wipe)
4) Darkys 8.1 (no-wipe)
then it should work
thanks all for your reply
Thanks for indicating it. i ll b more clear nxt time. thnks zacharias.maladroit

[Q] ROM Update gone bad, what to do ?

Hi,
Here's my story, I was running stock Froyo 2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy I9000 (India) and decided to give latest SpeedMod kernel (speedmod-kernel-k13e-500hz.tar) a try, things went well and I flashed the kernel successfully via ODIN. After this I went ahead and enabled all recommended tweaks and lagfix (both data and system) this also completed successfully.
Now problem started when I followed this guide and did something wrong (I guess), I skipped the "Flashing SpeedMod Kernel" step as I was already on that and disabled the lagfix (Data + system) after disabling lagfix and rebooting android setup screen came up and my data was lost followed by lots of force closes - I went ahead and applied "galaxys-efsbackup.zip" and flashed "CM7 kernel" as instructed. After rebooting the phone was on CWM Recovery 3 and I tried "“mounts and storage” which did not worked.
Now, I have flashed back the SpeedMod kernal and back to CWM recovery 2.51 but restoring backups is not succeeding, pls. suggest how to get my phone back to a working state ?

This is now resolved I flashed the stock firmware via ODIN.
Pls. anybody for rescue ?
just download your stock 2.2 rom and flash the stock firmware with odin... should fix your problem
I was on Froyo 2.2, can I update to 2.2.1 latest firmware ?
Also what ODIN version and options should I flash with.
This is now resolved I flashed the stock firmware via ODIN.

Badly stuck in bootloop

Okay,
So i have searched, I was on 2.3.3 custom rom, and then i went on to flash Onecosmic's ICS Port Android 4.0.3 RC1, i flashed the kernel first and then from then on i cant go past flash screen. I tried flashing official firmware from here "I9000DXJV9_OLBJV9_DXJV9" but it wont go past flash screen. any help??? Can somebody link me to full official rom with bootloader and everything.??
register at sammobiles.com and find your firmware there, then flash it through ODIN. Then flash your KERNEL then any custom rom. If you find bootloop, you will need to flash a voodoo kernel this gives you other options in CWM to enable you to disable ALL lags. Then you should be fine. You can reflash any other kernel once your all done.

Ok i will try find out a vooddoo kernel, but if you please can link me to it, it will be very easier
Ok i flashed the voodoo kernel and from CWM i disabled the lagfix. And then again i i got the same error, "failed to mount /dbdata" after flashing through odin. And again back to bootloop.
What do i do.
Thankfully i can get into recovery menu. And i tried restoring nand backup but i got an error flashing boot image.
What's the next step
Try this. Remove BOTH external sd card and sim card. Boot to recovery, goto mounts/storage and format sdcard, back to recovery head menu, factory reset/wipe, format cache/format dalvik cache then remove battery, boot to doenload and flash rom agin with odin
Oh, and dont forget to disable ALL lagfixes BEFORE odin flash.
i had the same problem yesterday, what i did is i flashed through odin some 2.2 froyo (3 files) with repartition and the problem was solved; the rom was pre rooted JP3 ; hope it helps you

did u do a nandroid backup, you could also try darky 10.2 re im not sure if it will work because you were on ics,you could ask one of the darkycrew on the darkyrom forum goodluck
Flash this ROM (Its Froyo 2.2.1) using Odin:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/665428/AndroidWorld/Herstelbestanden/I9000XXJPU.zip
Make sure repartitioning is checked in Odin
PIT: s1_odin_20100512.pit
PDA: I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar.md5
PHONE: MODEM_I9000XXJPU.tar.md5
CSC: GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPU.tar.md5
Flash.
Now you're back at Froyo 2.2.1
If you want CWM back flash speedmod K13E using Odin (make sure repartition is unchecked)
Put it in PDA
Flash

Hello guys!
Im new to the forum but i was using teamhacksungs ics port since middle of december from build 6 on to build 12 without any problems. but last weekend (my i9000 has been on build 13 for some days) i took a look on my phone to get the time and then i saw it was booting. but nothing happened it was stuck in a bootloop.
i removed the battery for some hours and tried to boot but it still gets a bootloop.
im not able to get into recovery mode, only downloadmode is possible.
help me plz, what can i do?
thx for your answers
greets steve
Look three posts above yours. It is explained in detail what to do.
Does anyone READ around here?
boot into download mode...and use heimdall to flash boot.img(in the teamhacksung's rom)(any build)
and then boot again...it will surely boot...
but i recommend onecosmic's ROM
but u did not do the process flashing back to 2.2.1?
I have never used heimdall and im a noob in flashing (it was easy with cwm recovery and the ics port)
thank you very much! i got it
The bootloop problem was covered several times - it happens kinda randomly, so the best workaround would be:
1. If you can boot into recovery - flash the same ROM again.
2. If not - go into download mode, flash stock ROM, install ICS again.

[Q] i flashed my galaxy s wrong! help please!

today i wanted to flash my galaxy s to ics.
my galaxy s was already rooted so i put the zip in the root of my phone.
so then i went to recovery mode and installed ics and im sure i followed every step in the tutorial. But when booting it didnt stop booting and it was like that for an hour. so then i tried to flash it back to the firmware i had before.
i tried to flash back to gingerbread with odin but now it cant boot beyond the galaxy s gt-19000 screen.
i tried to go to recovery mode but in recovery mode everywhere its saying

E: unknown volume for path {/data}
E: Unable to process volume! Skipping..."
and so on...

http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php
thank you for the answer ill try it
try going back to smthn like jvt or jw1 via odin and then if u want to flash ics follow the video on youtube by totallydubbedhd
You need to flash a rom stock using ODIN. If I understand correctly you must enable the option to re-partition so be sure to also include the .pit file when you will flash, then proceed to install ICS. It is recommended to remove the SD-EXT before starting to install because it can pass to enter a bootloop.
