So I got a Galaxy Tab 7 wifi yesterday and am now reading all about how it's different and such from the 3G versions, so I got a few questions...
Has the wifi version been updated to 2.3? i couldn't find any way short of rooting...
which brings me to my next question, how can I root it and what ROM's are usable on it? I've been reading conflicting posts around the net about how to root it and have seen a lot of ROM's say not for the wifi version.
Are there any ROM's (assuming my above question was answered) that allow for bluetooth HID? Couldn't believe they locked this out...
Last question is...is there a way to use the Samsung stuff (like the media hub, social hub, and samsung apps store) with a different ROM?
thanks! there's so much conflicting info between the versions it's confusing!
From what I have found, you can root it with oneclicksuperroot but there aren't really any roms for it.

You can root it with z4root too, easy and quick.

how to backup rom and install custom rom on galaxy tab 7 wifi
hy master android i'm a newbie, how to backup or install custom rom on galaxy tab 7 wifi??
please
same problem, please help!
I have a two week old Tab 8.9 3G 7300 and it's not updating to Android 3.2. It is currently at 3.1.
Is this because I've rooted it and applied CWM? Or is it that Samsung simply hasn't pushed it to the device yet?
Also, is there a stock 3.2 I can install through a .zip file?
Thank you
I should add I didn't buy it from a carrier, it was an unlocked version bought from an online reseller.
Unzip your file and see what kind of files from it..

Do you know what region tab you have? It is possible that Samsung has not released 3.2 for this region.
You can just flash any region 3.2 with Odin.
As far as i know, there is no CWM flashable 3.2 for P7300.
If your rooted, then the odds of a Samsung (OEM) update are slim. If you have CWM then grab one of the 3.2 ROM"s available in the developemental section
I have the same issue. My device is rooted but no other mods. What's the easiest work around to apply the update?

Before sinking $299 on a Nexus Q, I tried to install the Nexus Q app on my Note (running Stunner ICS) but the Play Store tells me "Your device isn't compatible with this version" and won't let me download it.
The description for the App starts with "The Nexus Q app runs on any Android phone or tablet running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or later" so I suspect that the source of my trouble is my ROM.
Has anyone else tried to install this app to answer whether it installs on a stock Note?
Thanks!

I still need to know what will happen to the "unlocked streak" when flashed with HC 3.2 from dell. :fingers-crossed:
You need to flash with a dell streak 7 rom. No wonder why you are having issues.

I have no idea what he's talking about, but flashing roms can never change the lock status of the modem. (At least for most devices, including dell devides)

Hello,
As the title says, I was wondering if anyone made or knows of an amazon fire ROM that can be flashed onto an m7? Preferably one with lollipop at least, but it would need to be fire os.

Not going to happen I'm, for 2 good reasons.
1-Why would someone port a ROM that will limit you to use the very limited Amazon app store instead of using rom that can already access all app from Google play store?
2- Fire OS, even if it's based on AOSP is a proprietary OS.
