Hi,
I'm currently using a Motorola Milestone A853 (GSM version of the CDMA Verizon Droid), and I'm looking to upgrade to the LG Optimus 2X P990 soon. Is there anybody out there who also came from the Motorola Milestone?
I want to know the battery life as compared to the Milestone... The Milestone sometimes has terrible battery life (6 hours!). I'm hoping LG Optimus 2X will be a good purchase. What do you guys think?
Personally i believe the optimus was a good buy, especially now. the newer phones dont seem to have problems.
6 hours? LOL even the lgos can beat that ;D
I'd say, go for it. Its an incredibly good phone with some teaks
Have had the O2X for just over 2 months now. I had a few reboots and freezes initially but not after the V10d update from LG. The only other issue I had with the phone was an unreliable USB connection to the PC. I got the phone replaced and haven't had any problems with the new one.
You haven't mentioned whether you are looking for an out of the box phone or are willing to install a custom ROM on it. This seems to be the most well supported dual cure android out there at the moment with Cyanogen and Modaco doing great stuff for it.
Based on my experience, I have no issues recommending this phone but that doesn't mean there are 'better' alternatives out there depending on what you are looking for.
Battery usage is subjective and depends on usage as well. I am ok with battery life. I get better life out of it by freezing certain rogue stock apps like Car Home after rooting though .
Let us know what you decide.
I have been using a milestone for over a year. I am happy with the upgrade. I don't miss the hardware buttons and i prefer the thinner design of the Lg. The speed in applications and internet browsing has improoved. I'm also impressed by the media playback. The other night i streamed an online flashvideo through hdmi to my tv, without any problems at all. There are a lot of disappointed Lg ovners because of the continuing fw delays. But it's nothing compared to the way, the Milestone owners has been treated by Motorola.

I read about the reboots, but I'm not so bothered. My current Milestone is worse (DSI errors!) and is not fixable. But nice, good to know there's an official fix.

I'm actually a power user so I'm fine with both. If stock LG with minor fixes are good to go, then I'd prefer to go that route. I frequently do ROM cycles on my Milestone, currently using CM7 on it, but thanks to the locked bootloader, I haven't had a taste replacing the kernel yet Glad to know it's officially supported by Cyanogenmod!

I originally considered the Samsung Galaxy S II, but it was too expensive even under contract (S$488, SingTel, Singapore). LG Optimus 2X is S$218, and since I can trade in my Milestone for S$100, it's effectively S$118, pretty good price. So I'm kinda fixed on O2X

Thanks! I hope I'll be happy with the upgrade too. But how about the differences in battery life? (it's kind of like a deal decider...)

Even i changed to optimus 2x from Milestone.threatened Motorola through legal methods and got my whole money back.
anyway coming to the main point.O2X is much better than Milestone.A choice i dont regret.I just Miss the MIUI Roms.
My battery easily lasts 1-1.5 days.I am a heavy user.Wifi,Games,Songs,Movies.
The best Part bieng an open boot loader.we dont have to wait for the Companies to provide an Update.
Ram is double than that of milestone. The processor is dual core not to mention it has HDMI out and the graphics are awesome.
All in all you should be happy with the O2X
Hi,
I came from a Motorola Defy to Optimus 2x and I should say that Motorola is releasing poor software compared to LG (even if it's not perfect).
The video playback is really good out of the box (Divx / Divx HD support and more), the camera is by far better, the bootloader is opened for real good custom roms, the battery will improve with time today it's more than a day for me.
Don't hesitate go for it.
Compared with the SGXS2, it records full HD 1080P, the screen being smaller, the phone is a bit smaller (not thinner), today again I would think about the difference for the price.
Cheers
The SGSII has some serious display issues right now, i wouldnt go for it at the moment.
As ive said previously, my brother has already sent back 2 SGSII
What do you think about this phone (L9) ? I've read that it works smoothly and battery lasts a long time. In my country the phone costs 900PLN. For example Lg 4X costs about 1350PLN and I can sell my black for 500PLN. I would like to buy, but I do not know if it is worth it. It have dual-core proccesor and SGX540 and 4,7 IPS screen with a little higher resolution. Gpu is old, I think. I can not decide and I'm waiting for a good answer. Sorry for my bad English.
Its like "hanging in palm tree after falling from sky" (A hindi proverb translated roughly). Sell ur OB and dont look back for LG. I m yet amazed you are going to buy another mobile from LG. IMO go for HTC as they have very vast support by XDA and their updates are good too.

HTC = locked bootloader and if you dont know how to you could brick the phone.
as I always recommend, go for an AOSP device Galaxy nexus or the next nexus4 (made by LG) or some of the new xperias.
Yea, but in my sweet country Nexus 4 costs two times more and it doesn't have microsd slot. If thera is 32gb model of this phone, sure I will buy it. I saw on the youtube that L9 is very smooth, have good performance, good battery, nice screen(I don't need a full hd in phone) and good looking.
I have tried this phone and i can tell you that it is very smooth in comparision to another smatphone like optimus l7. Also the materials (for me) are really good, i also would buy l9 because it doesn't costs much for what it offers

No company gives free nothing.. Just think why the L series cost is less than Optimus Black
You compare the LG Optimus Black and L series in some sites, nothing L series is better than Optimus Black except ICS version for now (of course now we will get soon official ICS for optimus black in couple of weeks)
So decision is yours..

L9 is better than P970 for most things, but according to GSMArena it doesn't have GPU and it will choke on high graphics games.
@pkb_always4
It depends on what phone you have not the brand. It varies. Out P970 community is better than a lot of HTC phones just as some HTC phones community is better than ours. Were alot better of than most phones this old since other companies like HTC decides rather not to give updates than take a while longer to release them (Even though they're supposed to but Google doesn't enforce it strictly enough). If you want a guaranteed awesome phone, awesome community and awesome official then theres only Nexus. The only problem is that it's expensive.

I looked at P769 which is also L9.
The SGX540 is a very good GPU.
If thats the phone he was talking about then its much better than P970.
It have OMAP 4430, the same have razr and prada 3.0. But i thought that sgx 540 is old. This gpu is in the first galaxy s.

It won't give you lag. You don't need more than that.
I'm decided, but does not want to leave our community. Unfortunately, this the way of things. My Lg Black will go to my brother. I don't why so many people complain about p970. It's a very good phone even now(but yea with Zeus ). I will sure keep checking here still. We have a very good developers. I'm sure that someone go for the Lg L9 too. And thanks for reply.
Same GPU as the Nexus S/Galaxy S, so it's better than the OB but not that much, compared to the Mali 400 in the Galaxy S II/S III and Xperia U/P. The Xperias have the same CPU as the L9.

Strange! The first thing I tried calling my wife from ShowRoom was to call with voice dial. Any ICS have built in support for that. Just press google voice and say "Call Wife" and phone will call your wife. And yes, I am also coming from O2x, almost same device.

Well said. I am long time hater of LG for its slow support, but pals, THEY MAKE UNBRICKABLE PHONES. LG Support Tool always UNBRICKED every phone (which I know). This is TOPMOST best feature of LG. Now about slow or no support, who cares? We have XDA One of my friend already bricked HTC phone last year and later sold it in scrap.
This is the reason, this week only, I upgraded to new economical but still strong model LG L9 with 4.7" screen. Long duration Li-Ion 2150 mAh battery, which gives two full working days (and roaming also) which is rare in most Android Smartphones. So now people should stop cursing them, like I did. I also recommend all for LG Nexus 4 if good budget, else go for L9.
EDIT: How LG phones are unbrickable? When you press few HARDWARE buttons on phone simultaneously the phone hardware puts phone in SW Upgrade Mode. No matter phone is bricked or working. In this mode most devices download full rom with the help of LG Support Tool and your phone is back in action.
Most (not all) of the phones from other companies does not even come in such upgrade mode and you loose chances of bringing LIFE back to phone, leaving only one option to send to Service Center and well you know how much they charge. I did not pay a single penny to Service Center for any of my bricked phones.
here are the main differences ...
connectivity:
.p970 Has a gyroscope , l9 not
p970 can be used as a WiFi hot spot l9 not.
l9 Has DLNA p970 not.
camera:
Clearly better video recording quality 1080p @30 fps (l9) vs 720p @30 fps (p970)
power
Appreciably more battery power 2,150 mAh (l9) vs 1,500 mAh (p970) => 44% more battery power

People if you are considering to buy a lg optimus 4x hd and came here to read whats bad or good about it please DONT
Yes this is because most people coming here are to complain ( speaking from my experience) so you will get demotivated a lot even though this phone is great ( once again in my opinion)
Even though our camera is not the best nor is out optimus UI despite those small things its a great phone for a very good price

I agree you cm camera is actually not so bad in good light (low light it sucks as much as the normal). Optimus UI is just a matter of taste I like it. For now it has one of the best performance/price relation I think. Maybe its not the bestto play hardcore games as it gets hotbut with underclocking your cpu and play games its very good.I thinkthe simple mobile games are way better than the FPS. just my opinion

Arent Nexi budget phones? In all other places where there is no Google Play, they are expensive and when everybody and their mom suggests getting one, it gets annoying really fast.
Here is the thing with Nexus phones. The only good thing about them is Google updates. Stock android experience and so on are all covered by custom roms.
And as for this thread. If you have money, dont bother with the 4X HD. There are better phones out there with better stock roms and quality I believe.
O4X was my first android phone. And i love it.
But i spent to much time waiting on JB on unlock bootloader on rom, everything... so i sell it =(
I changed for SG3 - and those two can not be compared. On SG3 battery for me stands for full 2 days! on OX4 max 12h. Camera is much much better on SG3 - and those are most important things for me on phone.
O4X is cheap nice hardware... but bad support bad battery ( strange wakelocks) is downsides.
And yes... dust under screen... i hated so much LG about that!
Also using this opportunity to say bye to all O4X lovers and community. Se ya i another thread

I never sell my phones. I have a ton of it (including Nokia 1610 from 1996). I've made mistake with Optimus 4X HD, but it's my fault. In the other hand, we don't have Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or decent phones with powerful chips (Tegra 4, Snapdragon 800), so I will wait for next flagship. My first Android is still working, HTC Hero from 2009 summer.

After nvidias fail with tegra 2&3, you would really risk tegra 4? I accidently left my phone locked to single core only yesterday, and was playing a few heavy games. There was barely any difference. The CPU is insanely powerful, but the GPU is a total POS

nVidias fail with Tegra 2 and 3? The support from manufacturers wasn't exactly massive but they were great chips.
I'd say the Optimus 2x had better performance when it was running a custom ROM, I ran Nova HD ROM it was overclockable and ran really well.
I havent taken the plunge with my 4X rooting and custom ROMs yet, I'm waiting for the warranty to run out first!!

Well in terms of general use and multitasking the quad core is incredible, but considering I just bought a cheap dual core powervr 531 tablet and it runs some games better there's deffo something wrong. I do believe however that game devs are partly to blame, but its enough to make me steer clear

Hey guys... Just wondering how is the call quality with your phone?... Do you get drop outs?... Is the signal reception good and consistent? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I don't make many calls with my phone, but so far the call quality has been fine.
Seriously, I gotta hand it to people who buy quad core phones for games because phones are the worst possible medium where you would want to play a game. If you wanna play games, go get a tablet or a desktop PC with reasonable cooling. A decent PC that can run EVERY phone game costs around 450 euro. Thats cheaper than a Note2 and litterally every 2013 high priced phone.
The reason why this phone cant play games as "Smooth" as you people would want is because of throttling and bad optimization. The heat that is generated while playing a game is ridiculous and the CPU+GPU overheat because there is no cooling happeing there.
The only, and I mean, the only reason why the S3 runs cooler is because of better throttling, not because it has "Efficient" internals.
There are many devices out there that do the "Gamiing" part better but you would be paying 80- 100 Euros more for just getting a "Better" phone for gaming.
When somebody comes around says "Oh, the S3 is so much better"and LG has dust underscreen. May I remind you that the S3 up until January this year had a brickbug +restarting bug and the restarting bug has NOT been fixed. The brickbug was a internal memory error. The restarting bug seems to happen at random with people with the "Insane" chip. I was in a dilemma when I bought this phone. Do I wanna risk buying an S3 and after 6 months it could become useless? I said no.
If you are happy to invest +350 to +400 euro for a phone just because you find the beauty problems of this phone bad then for "Insert your favorite vendor"s sake do so.
I am happy to have a functional phone that when compared with the price of other phones, just blows them out of the water. Phones like the
S2, Sony Xperia S,T,SP, Optimus G, Nexus 4(It costs around 400 euro where I live, compared to 280 euro with this phone.) and so on and so forth.
Hey, I challenge anybody to offer an alternative to this phone with a price range of :
300-350 euro
4.7 Coll HD or FULL HD IPS screen
Removable battery
MicroSD slot
16GB internal storage
The only alternative is the Huawei G615 but that thing is 4.5 coll, has only 8 GB internal storage and does not seem to have CM support.

g is bigger so razr i is my choice.
I still prefer my Razr I, G doesn't have NFC and I love my Intel CPU
Also the I is more edge2edge than the G and I like the material of the I
Razr i won't get kitkat, in my honest opinion. If that's the only thing keeping you from selling, I would go ahead and sell

well... i also love the premium materials... and the compact size, but, i really would like to have 4.4 for the optimizations it brings... and the lack of custom roms cause of x86 arch... i'm praying for seeing that "it'll get 4.4 soon" on the official motorola page
AFAIK the camera is better on Razr over that of the G and whilst an update to the phone would be nice I'm ok with the features it has for what I bought it for. Overall the razr i is still a great phone for me and I would buy it over the G version.
You should take a closer look to their specs. Bear in mind that I don't know how much Razr i costs in your country new or used...
Razr i / Moto G
CPU - Intel Atom Z2480 x86 2Ghz x1 (HyperThreading) / Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1,2Ghz x4
GPU - Power VR SGX540 @ 400Mhz 6.2GFLOPS / Adreno 305 19.2GFLOPS
RAM - 1GB LPDDR2 @ 800Mhz / 1GB LPDDR2 @ 533Mhz (supposed)

SecCam - 0.3mpx 640x480 30fps video / 1.3mpx unknown video recording resolution
Connect - NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi N, HSPA+, GPS / Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi N, GPS, HSPA+
SIze - H>122.43mm W>60.71mm D>8.38mm - 126 g / H>129.9mm W>65.9mm D>11.6 mm - 143 g
As you may see here, the Razr i is quite smaller and also features a better display, with a lower resolution. Whether this resolution changes anything or not is down to the use you will give to your phone. The Razr i should have a marginally better battery life due to the type of screen, lower resolution and same battery capacity. Also the Razr has better connectivity overall, supporting NFC and has a marginally better camera, that will appeal to some people. The last advantage for the Razr is the memory bandwith, being an x86 device with an Atom processor, I have seen that the ram speed is about 25% faster than the GS3 which had quite a good RAM. However, the Moto G wins hands down on the CPU and GPU departure. In contrast, it has to power up quite a few more pixels and this narrows down the advantage. You may then choose your phone based on this, and on your likings/kind of usage obviously.
1. Is micro SD support a must?
2. Do you care for Kitkat? Or lots of custom rom options? (pretty sure the G will get plenty of them)
3. Is nfc a big deal for you?
4. Do you care about screen resolution?
I'm deciding between these two phones now as well, and this was the best I could come up with for deciding. If you can answer them you'll know which one you want. Good luck!

4. Do you care about screen resolution?
I'm deciding between these two phones now as well, and this was the best I could come up with for deciding. If you can answer them you'll know which one you want. Good luck!

I would add these:
5. Do you need more gaming performance? (buy the G)
6. Do you want a thinner device? (buy the Razr i)
7. Do you want a phone mid-high end design or a low-mid end(moto G)?
I should still advice you that if you are not are frequent user of demanding games, reading, or cpu intensive tasks on android, you will be more than satisfied with the Razr i. If you are more of a power user and dont care much about the features you should buy the Moto G. If you don't like any of the two buy the Nexus 5...
Thanks to all of you guys. I think to take with me the RAZR for the premium feels it gives to me even if less powerful. The only thing I could regret is the fact it will not get Kk.. but. I hope in you modders
Only advantage RazrI has to MotoG is quality and size, screen quality, camera, speaker should be equal, performance, devs and moto support should be better on MotoG.

I have the same dilemma, I have a Moto G but not used yet as I'm waiting for a screen protector. I was about to get a Razr I but for £50 cheaper the Moto G made more sense. The Razr I i still £150 at the moment, maybe if it drops a little lower I will take one.
EDIT: I bought both a Moto G 8Gb and a Razr I, reason being my sister also wanted a new phone so whichever I didn't want she would take. The issue with Three stores in the UK is that the phone is locked into some protective casing in the shop so you can't hold them, and they don't allow opening one up unless you want to buy it, so it's difficult to compare them in the shops.
However, as soon as you hold both in your hand the Razr I has a much more premium feel, it's probably the nicest phone I have ever handled (and that includes an iPhone 5). IMO the iPhone 5 is a perfect size and weight and this is pretty much the same but without IOS (which is a benefit!).
I don't see much difference in the screen at all in terms of size and quality. The Razr I feels quicker though as you scroll through menus and open up apps etc. Plus the SD card slot is a nice addition (although not one of my requirements).
Is it worth an extra £50/33% premium on top of the Moto G? I guess that depends on what you will use it for. If you're not going to use much storage and are a light user then the Moto G is the one to go for, especially with a guaranteed 4.4 update to Android. If you can spend the extra then get the Razr I it's a bargain for what it is.
I have both at the moment and believe me it's a tough question for sure. I must say one handed use of RAZR i is a big plus.
Razr I advantages :
Better camera
Micro-sd support up to 64gb
One handed use
Premium quality
Better and faster internet experience
Moto G advantages
Better display
Better battery ( just a little )
Better front cam
Current Android version, update to Lollipop
Better gaming experience
I will wait for 4.4.2 on RAZR i to make a better judgement. btw moto g gets 17500 while razr i gets 17000 antutu points. ( the lower resolution on razr i helps to its inferiror gpu compared to Adreno 305 with 720p on moto g )
The million dollar question... Which phone is better and why?
Right now I have the chance to buy the Moto G. I don't know how much difference make a 1.5 dual core VS a 1.2 quad core because the GPU also takes part on this. I haven't had the chance to test the phone, so I don't know. Also the battery is better on the G, and that is important to me.
So.. What do you think?
I just got the Moto G but can't use it until I get it unlocked. Here's what I see as the pros and cons:
Moto G pros:
- quad core at 1.2 will be faster than 1.4 dual core when running an optimized ROM.
- nice IPS screen.
- official 4.3 support and 4.4 in the near future.
- cheap with no contract.
- unlock for bootloader direct from Motorola.
Moto G cons:
- only 8 GB or 16 GB of storage, but not all of it is available for user storage.
- no micro SD slot.
- no charger included in the box.
- only 8 GB carrier locked version is available in Canada.
- phone is only sold with a carrier lock, even when bought without a contract in Canada.
Atrix HD pros:
- beautiful screen and build quality
- expandable storage.
- great battery life with the right rom.
- works on all US and Canadian carriers;
- lots of custom ROMs.
Atrix HD cons:
- non-removable battery.
- no official ROMs after 4.1.2 in Canada.

Our Atrix HD's battery is easy enough to remove and replace if necessary, there are plenty of tutorials in the forums and youtube that show you how to do it with ease.

Thanks for the information. My battery is working perfectly with holo but I am sure it will eventually need replacement.
new phone confusion
Hi all!!
A local website is offering Atrix HD MB886 and Moto G (16GB) for exactly the same price here. Both are BNIB with 7 days return policy and 2 years warranty.
So I am really confused which one to buy. If any of you have tested or bought both.. how do they compare and which one would you recommend?
For me.
Moto G +ve's:
NEW!
16GB internal mem
KK 4.4.2 out of box
great battery
IPS LCD
changeable covers
FM radio
USB host
GLONASS
Moto G -ve's:
No 4G (LTE)
only 5MP cam
battery is fixed
NO SD card
AHD +ve's:
4G LTE (future proof) - even though we don't have this yet but the contracts are sold and will get 4G rolling out next year in Pakistan
8MP cam
FHD video recording
HDMI
SD card (again.. future proof)
replaceable batt (so can get a bigger one)
AHD -ve's:
No GLONASS
TFT LCD (not IPS)
smaller batt
no FM radio (can i use an app like spirit FM?)
no USB host??? (does it have this?)
The place where I'm really really confused is the CPU/GPU.
How does MSM8960 (dual core Krait) stack up against the quad core MSM8226????
How much of a difference is there between Adreno 305 and Adreno 225?? (i'm a bit of a mobile gamer )
Those of you who have experience with these. How do they compare?? I heard people who got Moto G said they felt its faster than AHD ever performed. But I guess that could be down to stock Android on Moto G outperforming MotoBlur... or is the hardware on Moto G really better??
Which has the better and more durable hardware?
Many thanks in advance... Cheers!!
P.s. I have an HTC Desire Z with 4.4.2 at the moment.. so any of these will be a step up for me.. but I want the best of these as they fall exactly within my budget.

Atrix HD Screen is one of the best I have ever seen.
I can play games without lag on atrix HD.
What do you mean by GLONASS?
Yes I miss FM Radio.
We have hdmi along with usb.
Best part is the build quality. I have dropped it a hundred times but still its functional, If it would have been a samsung then I might have lost many phones till day.

Thanks for the fast reply...
GLONASS is Russia's satellite nav system like GPS. Having GLONASS especially in EU and Asia is a huge advantage as it's more accurate and Moto G has both so combined you get pin-point accuracy.
Glad to read about the build quality.
Still.. how does it stack up against Moto G's CPU/GPU??
4G is not a biggie for me but its better to have it than not. Also 16GB is probably okay for me as I have 8GB now but you never know)))
You said it has USB.. does it have USB hosting? (the feature where you can connect other USB devices to the phone to transfer data directly like using pen drive with your computer)
Thanks again!!
EDIT: Ok... so I just read that you can make Atrix a USB host using a software fix and it does support GLONASS.. also read (on qualcomm's site) that Adreno 305 offer's upto 50% faster graphics than Adreno 220 (which I'm guessing is closer to Adreno 225 on Moto G).. so as a gamer I'm also decided on AHD.. plus there are rumours of AHD getting ota KK 4.4.2 soon... just need confirmation of how the dual core CPU performs vs Moto G's quad core... and I'll just get one

I have usb OTG (or host) out of the box with cyanogenmod 11, at least i've tried a wireless keyboard and mice. Haven't tried it with stock roms.
The HDMI is pretty nice too 1280x720, connect to your tv, plug some controller via USB OTG and you got mobile gaming rig lol. 16GB (with maybe 12 available to user?) i find that to be not quite enough at all, specially for me that i use google play music and cache my music on the external sd.
Check out the battery mod thread, super easy not too expensive and you'll get very nice battery life (2+ days on with moderate usage and no battery eating ****ty apps).
AHD SHOULD be getting official KK according to "official" sources, tho not too soon maybe.
Oh and the AHD camera is crap tho, only way to get decent pics is plain daylight or very bright ilumination during the night.
Shouldn't there be cheaper used AHDs out there by now? Could probably get a cheap used AHD in good condition, put CM11 on it, do the battery mod and boom!
Where can I find a link for Glonass apk?

I don't think you need an apk to turn it on.. just look in settings...
http://developer.sonymobile.com/knowledge-base/technologies/glonass/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_smartphones_using_GLONASS_Navigation#Motorola
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gB9pXInwh3k
I think you can get an app to test the A-GPS and GLONASS performance...
There are a few options
This app: http://droid-games.com/en/Motorola_ATRIX_HD/android_programs/navigation/88-gps-test-plus-121.html
Or maybe this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cochibo.gpsstatus
Hope this helps! :highfive:

I'm more or less set on Atrix HD over Moto G.. I read several reviews and benchmark/test reports.. in most of mobile reviews Moto G is rated higher than AHD.. but in benchmarks the story is opposite.. Moto G's MSM8226 is slower than AHD's MSM8960 (notebookcheck.net).. also Adreno 225 on AHD is better and faster than Moto G's Adreno 305 (notebookcheck and wikipedia).. I wonder why Moto G is rated better than? Price, battery and stock 4.4.2??
You said the cam is cr**? its not a biggie for me personally as I use the came occasionally but maybe I'll have to download a cam app to see if it improves the quality.. I think most of the features in Moto G's cam like touch focus, hdr and panorama are due to stock kitkat.. I think they can be easily added.. but I could be wrong

Placed an order for AHD on ebay yesterday... hopefully I'll have it soon :victory:
I read Moto G's cam is even worse but maybe it was a personal opinion but some say so.... also there are a lot of 8MP cams which are even worse like on Lumia's.. plus I have a 5MP cam on my HTC DZ right now so I think 8MP will be a step up either way.. I won't get a EB40 for the time being.. will see if EB20 is enough for how I use the phone.. If I feel the need.. I'll get the EB40..
Thanks everyone...

Everyone runs different apps and services so it's hard to tell without testing yourself. IMO, you should try a "slim" ROM. One that doesn't have a ton of features and advertises being light on resources. Also avoid using a custom kernel to overclock your processor (duh).
The next option you should consider the eb40 battery upgrade so you won't have to worry about your battery as much. I swapped mine as soon as I bought this phone and I've been very happy with the battery life (it should have been standard with this phone). Happy flashing![emoji4]

Thanks for ur reply. And dude, where I come from, if I put in couple of more bucks into this phone by buying another battery and then taking into account all the money I spent on this device which includes the price of the phone itself, I could easily get a nexus 4 or LG optimus G in that whole price. So I just bought this phone for time pass. I'll upgrade sooner so I want to have short and quality time with this device.
Use holoblur (jb rom) for the best battery life. Load the pure performance x on it and it should be running much smoother.

Thanks, that worked.
OK so an update I finally got my AHD a while back and after unlocking, rooting and all the usual stuff I am shocked to see that there is NO way I can transfer app data to SD card...
My 4 years old HTC Desire Z gave me that option natively with ANY AND ALL ROM's I used... even the ones based on JB and KK.. I am now using the official CM 10.1.3 ROM on my AHD.. I used the Andromadus nightly build based on the same CM 10.1.3 and while that nightly supported moving app data to SD through settings->apps.. the official CM10.1.3 on AHD does not... why???
Is there a ROM that supports this natively so I can install as many apps as I want without worrying about this serious limitation.
