http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/03/11/playstation-suite-coming-to-tegra-2-devices/
This my friends is why I will never regret getting a Streak 7, I knew something would need this dual core. =D So those of us who chose the DS7 over the Samsung Tab. Lets hope. ^^

Guess I've been spoilied...

I love my 8.9 way better than the Acer Iconia A500 that I came from, and I totally love it way more that my brothers iPad2. What I do worry about for Android in the tablet space is Windows 8 on tablets, especailly if they make some with intel chips.
If made with intel chips I might have the option to play my favorite old school rpgs which Android and Apple both do not have. Granted I'm only coming at this from one perspective, but others might be thinking the samething for another reason.
I don't think that I would ever buy a Windows or iOS phone though.

I only worry about battery life with those Intel chips to be honest. I will keep Android and might get a Windows 8 tablet faaaar into the future, only if it really convices me in all fronts (battery life included).
I recognize that face from the A500 forums. This tab is sweet

Nexus 7 or Microsoft Surface ?

I'm seriously considering about buying a tablet (in december), i am a little bit confused about Nexus 7 or the Microsoft Surface which is gonna be out sometime in November.
I heard a rumor about an updated version of JB (4.2) is gonna be out too somewhere in November. Nexus 7 has been here since July and i fear that till December it will be old. Since my story has been like this: I buy Desire HD, Sensation is out the next month. I buy Sensation XE, One X is announced the next week. I don't want that if i buy and it already has a successor within 2 months !
Anyways, Surface looks stunning but......Windows 8 ??. I read an interview of Micheal Dell saying that it might not have an impact as Nexus 7/iPad/Kindle etc etc.
So, enough with the stories. Please let me know how good is Nexus 7. Or should i reconsider my opinions ?
[EDIT] This thread might be closed i guess i'll continue in this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277

Nexus 7 old by December?
Chasing technology is never good. Either is waiting for "the next big thing".. I've seen this so many times over the years.. I know people who have waited 5 years to buy a new TV because they keep waiting "for the next model".. Then they buy one and a week later talking about returning it for some other new model coming out next month.
i currently have a windows 7 phone, if the win8 marketplace is anything like that one....forget about it! lol
also, i dont think there's a whole lot of customizing on windows.
fyi, i think there are new nexus model coming soon.

haha that is why im hesitating that much ! (marketplace). Yeah i read about customization too and people stating that its more closed than iOS !! which is too much
I just hope the next nexus isn't a tablet !
Better to wait 1 year after w8.
Price go down, and more mature software....
If Windows 8 on a tablet is anything like Windows 8 on a PC, stay far away from it. I've been running the preview for months on one of my computers. "Metro" UI is god awful. ...At least compared to Windows 7 on a PC.

It's god awful because it's designed for tablets. I hate Windows 8 on my desktop, but it's it's really nice on my tablet.
With the advances we have had in arm chips anything out new should have more than enough house power to last for you.
If anything software will have to catch up
My girls "old" touchpad still flies, my step dad enjoys my " old tegra2" tablet
If a eight core android tablet comes out tomorrow developed aren't going to drop support of everything and support only that.
For the price if the nexus seven and Google doing updates you will be happy

I'd say the most important thing to decide first is if you want Windows RT, Windows 8, or Android.
Windows RT, you can only run Windows 8 style apps, and there are extremely few of those at the moment.
Windows 8, you can run all Windows apps. But I think the Surface Pro with Windows 8 is gonna be pretty expensive. Acer's W510 however is only $500 and may be available November 8th (not sure when the Surface Pro launches, think I heard as late as January).
Android, you have access to hundreds of thousands of apps designed for mobile devices. And you have a huge choice of hardware configurations, such as a very light 7 inch tablet like the Nexus 7 or a higher end larger 10.1 inch tablet like the Transformer Infinity. Not sure when/if we'll see 7 inch Windows RT/8 tablets.
Might want to decide if you like 7 inches or 10 inches more too... We could possibly have a 10 inch Nexus tablet before the end of the year.
Please continue discussion in the thread linked in the OP.
Thanks

I have a android Phone soo I'm familiar with things..
My question is - Is it worth it to get it if you own an android device?
I'm into Movies ,Music and Gaming
I think it will be great..
Kindly guide me
Because there might be launch of new Nexus Devices this year
Thanks

Keep the money and see the rest of us enjoy the device...
For me personally Nexus 7 is awesome for reading books, browsing, gaming but maybe not so with listening to music unless you root it and instal some custom ROMs that have some music mods that will make your music sound ALOT better.
Its also ideal size so it fits almost in any pocket.
But there is also another option to save it because in May there will be the next gen of Nexus 7, but then you will have to wait another 2-3 months to get the hands on it.
The choice is yours. =)

It's up to you how you spend your money. Most people here would say buy one. So buy one if you want. And don't if you don't want to. That simple.

My Nexus 7 is not main main Android device. I spend a lot more time on my Samsung S3 and my 10.1" Acer A500. The reason? Such limited memory.
However...
When I go somewhere that I want an e-reader or want to do internet-based things that benefit from a larger screen and my big tablet would be a pain to drag around, I bring along my Nexus 7. It's thin, light, has a great screen, and is very portable. If it only had a micro-sdxc slot, I'd use it a lot more, but for what it is and what it cost, it was a worthwhile investment.
Get it if you have the spare money to buy it. After getting the Nexus 7 I only use my Galaxy Nexus phone for calling and as car mounted GPS, everything else is done on the Nexus 7 because it perform so much smoother and on a bigger screen, while being 7inch still making it portable.
This tablet honestly saved me money because I don't even consider buying a Galaxy S4 or HTC One anymore since I won't be doing anything on a phone. (They're not Nexus devices anyway.)
You might consider the 32gb version, but it depends on your usage. Especially Google Music cloud feature isn't available in India. If you have a DLNA server in your house where you can stream movie off then probably 16gb is enough. Not everyone lug everything around with them.
PS. This tablet do not have HDMI out capability.

Those Tegra2 tablets still give me nightmares (I owned 5 different models; acer a100 a500 toshiba thrive Xoom asus transformer), Tegra2 performance was so bad is the reason why I got put off tablets til now. But the Acer A500 was the best of the lot).

TF 701 or wait for Tegra K1

I recently contemplated trading-in my Asus TF700 to Amazon and buying a TF701. But, I started thinking about the up coming Nvidia Tegra K1 that should be releasing in the last quarter of this year. I know a Chinese company (Xiaomi) has released a 7 inch tegra k1 tablet and that Google is working on a 8.9 inch tegra k1 tablet. I really would prefer a 10 inch tablet. My questions are, do I wait for a 10 inch tegra k1 to be released later this year (hopefully) or go ahead and get the TF701? Does anyone have anymore info on the tegra k1 being released on the 10 inch platform? Will it be this year? If anyone has any recommendations or more info please let me know. Any advice welcomed.
Your decision... Just realize that if you buy the latest and greatest right after release you're also an early adapter potentially helping the OEM to work out all the initial bugs...
I never buy a tech device right after release. I wait 3 months to see if any major bugs show up.
But then... I don't care about having the latest and greatest. I care about my toys to work as I need them to.
The TF701 fits the bill. The tablet is perfect (the dock is not but I can live with it) and I'm pretty sure I won't be craving anything new for the next year - and more than likely longer than that.
Well the advances in k1 look good and will probably kick the pants off anything we currently have. You would probably have no trouble trading this for a k1 as well.
I doubt it. Nvidia is focusing on gaming and that's not what I use my tablet for.
But, I do like gaming plus internet and videos.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S is a beast. Best Display available to date.
K1 is surely a performance beast. But, it is also a battery-hunger monster with current fabrication (28nm).
Xiaomi’s tablet Mi Pad which has a tegra k1 cpu is suppose to give 11 hours of video and 86 hours of music streaming. Now I realize these are not real world test but it should give at least 9 hours of video play which I think is good. Am I wrong?
I'd say if someone needs more he/she seriously needs to get a life! Ha! [emoji12]

Are you upgrading to the NEXUS 8 ?

Its looks like there will be A nexus 8/9
So how many of us are going to upgrade?
I know I will
it may have:
64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1
5GB/2GB of RAM
5MP/8MP rear-facing camera
8.9-in 2,560x1,600 display
If it's less than $300, I will.

I marked this a no.
I probably will not go the Nexus route again for a next tablet.
I'm thinking the new generation Atom chips are alright and I might get the Dell Venue 8 Pro or its successor. Might as well have the full Windows 8.1 capability on a tablet... And that Active Stylus intrigues me.

i voted no. i dont see myself buying a new mini tablet for a while. the nexus 7 does everything i need well,i just need to read PDFs and watch a few movies while reclined.i think it should last me at least 2 more years if i dont break it (ive got a case).
if i do get another tablet,it will probably be a windows tab with a bigger screen to replace my netbook which is from 2011 and seems to be dying out even tho ive replaced the HD,my guess is it's a motherboard issue/overheating.
I use my tablet for streaming. Nothing more. So I'll stick with my N7 til its dead. ?
I'm hoping the 5gs of RAM rumors are true
But you know a tablet having more RAM then most laptops
Brings doubts

And still; Android's ever running App-ness will gunk up the RAM. I think the jolly green robot is starting to spin out of control.

Today's computer woot is a kick butt Dell tablet. Very tempting. 256 SSD, i5, IPS 1920x1080, 36000(!) mAh battery. Keyboard that adds battery available, desktop dock available, Windows 8.1 Pro, etc. etc. Fro $549. I would absolutely get this over any 10" android tablet. Its basically an ultrabook without a keyboard. I have an extra Office 2010 license from a 3 pack i bought a few years ago, too. Wife would strangle me, though, lol.
Maybe?
Picked up the nvidia Shield tablet yesterday. I got sick of the lock ups and lag on my nexus 7, and jumped on the opportunity. This thing is nice, no lag, bigger screen but close to the same size, front facing speakers. It's basically like the "leaked" nexus 8 but available now for $300. Personally I think the leak was BS, and while the nexus might be great I got sick of waiting.
