Hi all.
Greetings from the Droid 2 subforums. I be DarkOnion. Apparently, the rooting method for the Droid 2 is claimed to have worked for Droid X also.
Give this method a try as soon as you want to root your Droid X on 2.2! Written for dummies by a dummy. Let me know if it works or doesn't or if you run into any trouble!

Hi everyone,
Just as the title says, I have a friend in Mexico who owns a Motoroi which I assume is the equivalent to the Droid 1 here in the US. He's stuck in 2.1 and wants to upgrade to 2.2 and Im not sure if there was an official update or not.
So I suggested him to maybe lean towards a ROM. So, are the ROMs available for the Droid 1 compatible with his phone or will there be a problem? Thanks in advace.

For all flashing intents and troubleshooting purposes, is the A855 the same as the A853 or at least similar enough to use ROMs and apps intended for the A853 on the A855?

No, do not flash an A853 which is the Motorola Milestone ROM or anything else on the A855 Motrola Droid these phones are very different and you will brick your phone. Only flash Motorola Droid A855 ROM's on the Motorola Droid. Let me know if you still have questions .
Hi,
I flashed my droid 3 with the current CM10.1 ROM and it's working... Except for the SIM card.
It's plain not recognizing the sim. No calls, no SMS, no data.
I couldn't find anywhere how to fix nor even how to debug it.
I'm pretty new to android flashing but have extensive experience as Linux sysadmin (15+ years), so any hint about how to debug it would be very welcomed.
Any hints?
( Ahh, I'm in Brazil, using GSM)
Thanks in advance,
Leon
Hi,
Try to find the library libmoto_ril.so from the stock rom at /system/lib, and replace it. You should get signal, but until now, I'm not aware of anyone that made 3g work on JB Roms with GSM networks.
Also replace the line:
ro.telephony.default_network=3
On the default build.prop it is 7 (for CDMA).
Hope this helps.

Hey, I am having the same problem on my droid 3 cm 10.1 installation. I live in Australia and my droid 3 is a Verizon one. I did what you said and then it doesnt boot but stays stuck on the loading screen. I even tried Hashcode's GSM patch and still remains stuck. Any Ideas.
